The shit going down in the chat thread is going nowhere, so, without further ado, I present...
A SYSTEM!

Not necessarily good! | But hey, it's a system! | Which is more than we have right now!

So the basis of the system is pretty simple, and I'm only going to put that here for now, because as I today discovered, making a comprehenssive, unreakable system takes a lot of fucking time.

There are a number of championships. The first champion(s) will be the first person or team to win three matches of the relevent type. Then, anyone who defeats the champion at the relevent match type (practice/for fun games not included) becomes the new champion. I'd suggest qualifiers and second-place games and so on, but let's face it, we don't have the player base. If we ever get one, I'll happily expand on this system.

Ideas for championships:
Single combat
Equal team battle
Handicap match (2v1, etc. only smaller side can become champion)
King of the Hill

Please give useful criticism and suggestions. If you tell me this won't happen, I'll ignore you unless a decision has been made in the chat thread, which functionally means I'll just ignore you. Oh, and I'll also ignore you if you tell me I'm a piece of crap and I don't know what I'm doing, because I already know both of those things.

sounds fun, but what can spice up these tournaments that the champions will be fighting in?

@Liseran Thistle Good question. New and interesting locations would be a must. I think that a good variety of challengers would mean a good variety of challenging characters, which would make things more interesting.

I'm not particularly interested in a system that revolves around victories and 'champions' at all. It seems just as arbitrary as the current ranking system, to be perfectly honest. If the goal is to attract new players, and not simply to motivate existing players, I'm not sure how different this would be from a simple tournament.

Oh, I was kind of hoping for a system to regulate combat, not specifically how "dick points" are measured. Regardless, I think the arena scene is too small at the moment for a ranking system of any kind. But I'm going to put those thoughts off to the side to give my opinion how it currently stands.

I do like the idea of champions because while it puts an individual above all others, it's a title that they could lose to anyone. There's nothing quite as thrilling as the upset of an underdog or new blood snatching the title from the current champ. I also think a system like this works for smaller communities like this one where there are less than ten active fighters.

On the flip side, I feel like fighters like to see how they stack up to others. Having one absolute champion does not show how the others stack up to each other. And while the idea of a champion losing their status over a single win is exhilarating, the title of champion simply belongs to whoever is the last to win. It is not a mark of true skill by any measure. It can also be unsatisfying when a champion is unable to show up for a match, and the new champion is crowned without having beat the previous one.

If you want to unify, to create a group. Hell, if you want to do literally anything involving the Arena and how it is done. You have missed one major point that is incredibly important.

You have to fight first.

Why would anyone take you seriously if you haven't recently fought? Until every single one of you has proven to be an active participant in the Arena as a PLAYER not just as an OBSERVER, nothing is going to work.

Edit:
Correction- Tex has a single unfinished fight available for viewing.
