Are you sure there's nothing you could do to tweak her power setup? Maybe make her a mage who dabbled a *little* in Necromancy with more of a focus on another category of magic?

But the wwhole. Poiny of the harpy was for her to be the 'weak' adventurer looking to get stronger through time. Thats why I felt super justified giving her a sapient undead bodyguard to her fanily tree to protect her.

@1Charak2: I wasn't protesting the bodyguard, actually. That could still be someone passed down through her family line(and the reason she tried dabbling in Necromancy).

I just think her focus should be elsewhere. This is a relatively small cast of characters who will be near one another at all times and performing the same tasks.

Righto I suppose I could have her necromancy still be potent: but have her be the linage deviant, and instead trying to be a flashy little harpy and thus has gone all in on making sparkly sparkles (fireballs) with elemental magics.

So basically her sheet remains the same but the focus is more on the fact shes trying to learn elemntalist stuff for flashiness.

@VitaVitaAR Kyoshiro was a retainer for an affluent lord. Good natured and bold, ultimately would be his own end after defying a corrupt and more powerful lord. It resulted in small violent disputes in their province with Kyoshiro defending his lord's honor even after his death at the hands of assassins, soon he would retreat and live as a ronin. Kyoshiro himself was a skilled swordsman and thus made a name by accident, repelling governmemt officials and very skilled bounty hunters until one in particular, former fellow student of the same style, former retainer under the same lord and now a government assassin hunted him down. Eventually he was nearly successful, and Kyoshiro slipped away to sea as his only option, though gravely wounded.

So is there any room for a character who wants to make new legendary weapons for legendary heroes, and is adventuring to collect monster materials to forge them out of Monster Hunter style?

Well, that would avoid the issue of trying to specialise in something that Myrielle's already much better in. And she can still be some form of tutor if you want (she's the ultimate glass cannon-style mage: lots of power, lots of options, but she's fragile and takes her sweet time casting anything not related to necromancy).

Doing the bio right now. Essentially, my plan is to make him a big, heavily armored undead tank man who has only spent about a year on the surface world after spending an undetermined amount of time (possibly actually a few hundred years) wandering around an ancient network of catacombs looking for a way out. He still doesn't understand a lot of concepts most people take for granted, but he knows he's good at hitting things, and he likes to make things like weapons because then people praise him. Also he can never take the armor off for reasons he doesn't understand.

He's basically like a big ol' puppy, except built like a wrecking ball and armed with a sword bigger than a lot of people.

Alright, here's my loveable little brick shithouse, Argo. I'd like to thank Dark Souls for inspiring me to pick undead, because it just came out on switch giving me a way to return to it after everything else I had it on broke over the years.

Argo the Unknown

Name: Argo the Unknown
• Age: Who knows? He has no memories from before he was dead, and then he was… you know… dead. He’s been out in the overworld for about a year at this point though.
• Gender: Male
• Race: Sapient Undead
• Rank: Four of Swords
• Appearance:

Pictures were a little too big to not hide

Argo, much to his dismay, is unable to remove his armor due to what he assumes to be a curse. Because of this, he has no idea what his actual body looks like. What he can tell, however, is that he must have a fairly large build due to the fact that he has no trouble moving said armor, which stands just over two hundred centimeters tall, and is by all accounts very heavy.

The armor itself is quite imposing from what he has seen in a mirror. Almost purely black in coloration, the only other color comes from the tattered piece of red fabric covering his waist. It is also clearly very protective, with little in the way of weak points, and this can especially be seen in the large bucket helm, which is clearly made to protect the neck just as much as the head.
• Personality: Despite what the appearance of his armor may suggest, Argo is honestly kind of an idiot. Due to his relative lack of experience with lucid people, he doesn't always understand a lot of concepts that normal people will take for granted, and even then, he is still rather slow to pick up on most subjects. Although he'll sometimes try to hide it to make himself look cooler, he is very easily excited, and enjoys making people happy as whenever possible. He is always eager to impress as well, regularly throwing himself into supposedly impossible situations just so he can bask in the surprised, often even confused praise. However, despite his love of combat, he has a far greater affinity for smithing than anything else, particularly weaponsmithing. This has led to him regularly looking for quests specifically to try and collect better materials to work with. Then he can make really cool weapons! And everyone will think he's really cool! And-and then they might praise him, and like him, and it'll be great!

Just don't leave him alone in the dark again. That's scary and he doesn't like it.
• 'Brief' Backstory: Before a point he still doesn't really know for sure, Argo has absolutely no idea who he was. His first memories are of him waking up in a massive network of underground tunnels and catacombs, a massive black sword by his side and a suit of armor stuck to his body. He remembers lying there for at least a day, barely moving, until he suddenly seemed to realise that lying half buried in a pile of bones wasn't something he particularly enjoyed, and jumped out with a yelp. After this, he decided it might be nice to find a way out of the catacombs, because it was dark and there were more bones everywhere. Some of the bones even moved, and he really didn't like that, especially when they started hitting his armor, so he smashed them with his sword until they stopped moving and kept on wandering. What he thought he'd find, he didn't really know. He just knew that there was something after the catacombs, and that it was nicer than this.

He doesn't know how long he wandered those tunnels, he just knows that it was long. Long and scary. Every now and then, he'd smash some more bones, but other than that, there was nothing to really separate the time into any distinct sections. A part of him wondered if maybe the bones had once been like him, wandering forever to try and find what lay beyond the catacombs until eventually, they forgot why they wandered in the first place, becoming mindless monsters. The rest of him thought that sounded weirdly poetic, and wondered where those thoughts had come from. Also what did 'poetic' mean? However, all of this would soon (probably not actually soon) end, when he had an odd encounter.

Argo, then still a nameless undead knight, encountered a group of adventurers.

However, he had no idea just what these things were. They clearly weren't bones, even if they moved like them, but that didn't change the fact that everything he'd encountered in the catacombs had attacked him just the same. But, they seemed to be doing this weird thing, where they were making a bunch of strange noises. Again, it didn't seem like the rattling of the bones, because they seemed to be reacting to each other when they did it. It was strange, so despite his fears, he decided to approach cautiously.

Then they reacted to him, one of them made a noise that sounded like 'miniboss', and they attacked him. After spending as much time getting hit by the bones, Argo decided that, sadly, these must have been some weird, new type of bones, and tried to defend himself the way he usually did. Strangely though, his swings seemed to have no effect, with the new bones either avoiding them or even blocking them in the case of one. And then one of them did something he'd never seen before, and threw a shiny thing that actually hurt him when it hit.

Startled, he fell back and let out a sound of his own, a small whimper which surprised him just as much as it did the adventurers. He almost tried running back to find another way around these strange bones, but then one of them, making softer higher pitched sounds, walked up to him more slowly. He still didn't know what the sounds really where, but for some reason, they felt familiar, and even soothing. When it got close enough, it grabbed his gauntlet, and he began to feel like this bones wasn't mean like the others. After about a minute of doing nothing, he slowly began to walk with the not-mean bones, and after a short amount of time, they led him to the goal he had been seeking for so long. The end of the catacombs.

Sunlight shone through his visor as they traveled, and eventually they made it to a whole horde of not-mean bones! As months began to pass, the not-mean bones, people, they were called, began to teach him about the world again. They taught him about people, and how they act, and how to read and write. And finally, they brought him to the dwarf who would soon become his teacher, the guild blacksmith Garlavan. Initially, it was just to see if he could figure out why Argo's armor couldn't be removed, but upon noticing the undead knights interest in his work, the dwarf asked if he would like to help out a little. As it turned out, the ability to put all your attention into something with no need for breaks to eat or sleep makes for a pretty good student, and within seven months he could be considered a decent blacksmith. Not a master or anything, but good enough that he could make a living purely through making weapons and armor for the worlds many adventurers. At this point, Garlavan decided that he should strike out on his own, directing him to a guild in a nearby town that he thought could use a blacksmith.

After a tearful farewell from his friends, he set out to the new town. It took a while, as he managed to get sidetracked at almost every turn, but he eventually made it to the new town. However, due to not having any materials to work with, and very little money left to buy any thanks to his many misadventures on the journey, he decided he should just join the guild as an adventurer himself! He'd make the money in no time! And, as it turned out, being built like a brick shithouse, having armor with plates thicker than many shields, a sword bigger than most people and a growing enjoyment of fighting strong opponents lent itself well to the adventurer lifestyle, leading to Argo reaching the rank of Four of Swords within about a month.
• Equipment:
Black Steel Armour
Arguably Argo's most obvious feature, this suit of armor is a considered a powerful enchanted item. However this is not exactly to the benefit of the wearer, as said enchantment means it cannot be physically removed, even by someone as strong as Argo. It is a blessing that Argo is undead, as any living wearer would have died of starvation long ago. However, without taking the enchantment into consideration, the armor is honestly very protective, with thick plates of unknown metal that the dwarven smith Garlavan simply named 'Black Steel'.

Black Steel Blade
Much like his armor, Argo's greatsword is made up of the same dense black metal. The sword is very heavy, and without the ridiculous strength Argo seems to possess, it would be incredibly difficult to wield effectively. However, it is thanks to this weight that those who can wield it find themselves capable of cutting through many materials with ease, where many normal blades would struggle.

• Skills:
Monster Strength
Whether he had this strength before his death, or if it was a result of whatever odd magics brought him back to life, Argo cannot say. However, the fact remains regardless of origin that Argo is truly, ridiculously strong. He has to be, or else there is little doubt that the combined weights of the black steel blade and black steel armor would no doubt leave him completely immobilized, never mind fighting with the speed and dexterity he has reached at times in the past.

Blacksmithing
Despite his general lack of intelligence, Argo has a surprising affinity for working at a forge. Due to the lack of biological functions and requirements present in living beings, he has been able to learn at almost double the speed a normal student might, and while by no means a master, he can shape metal at the level of a seasoned veteran despite only having around ten months of experience. Essentially the whole reason he even joined the guild in the first place was to obtain materials for the forging of ever greater weapons and armor.
