Martha had her observation post finally set up an had added 5 large TV as monitors to 5 sets of professional news cameras and pointed them in the 4 compass directions and one tilted down to view the streets before the Hotel.

Next came two large balloons with strobes suspended below them to attract attention tied off to antenna on the Hotel roof.

She hated how it ruined the decorating in her new penthouse home but was pleased that it now gave her the ability spot any activity for miles around so that she could know when someone new showed up if they moved across the screens

Venus stepped inside the store where she'd seen movement and instantly felt as if she were being watched

Elle grins at the nervous girl. ”Hey. You a bit nervous there, huh?” She nudges her playfully and laughs a little, then waves a little to the guy throwing the peace sign. For the hell of it, she winks at the nerdy guy. She listens to the others as she asks her own questions. ‘These people are too human, they couldn’t have done this. Unless whoever did this was a faction of humanity... in that case no one can be trusted. They do have a lot of questions,... Hmm.. maybe they were trained for this. I don’t think all of them would be part of it though. Unless they knew I was tailing them. Shit. There goes that experiment. This girl...’ She looks at the shrine maiden, taking a seat on the steps. ‘Doesn’t seem human. She’s too duty-bound, so she might know more than she’s letting on, but won’t say anything.’ She glances out into the street, tensing slightly when Yumi mentions Martha. She faces the maiden, a dangerous glint in her eyes as she casually reaches for her knife. ”How the hell do you know what Martha said?”

Immediate guilt hit Mari at the shrine maiden's answer. She watched as she struggled for her breath, Mari's concern growing even greater. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to fluster you." She stepped back to stand next to James, trying to give the maiden some room to breathe. Her comment about them possibly being in an ark away from their reality had Mari's head reeling. She had no clue what that means. That's when she heard the new girl snap next to her.

"How the hell do you know what Martha said?"

Mari watched in shock and horror as the girl reached for a knife that seemed to appear out of nowhere. It was like watching a train wreck about to happen. "Woaaaahh... hey let's not get violent, okay?" She didn't know who this Martha person was, she just knew she wasn't ready to watch someone get stabbed today.

Elle glances at the girl trying to stop her, clearly agitated. Not get violent? That was the only way she’d survived for so long. Violence. She addresses the girl, but keeps her eyes on the maiden. “This bishi (bitch in Western African) knew a detail about a conversation I had earlier today. A conversation she wasn’t a part of. The hell do you suggest if we don’t interrogate her?” Her voice is cold, almost primal with rage.

Landon was a bit surprised when the shrine girls eyes glowed. He then was even more surprise when this black chick walked up and then suddenly pulled out a knife. " Hey we don't need to pull out a knife" he said and took out his drumsticks and spun them around to feel their familiar weight. He then began to drum anxiously he didn't like it when people took out weapons and he wasn't protected and he probably should have grabbed a knife or a gun at the mall. " even if she heard the conversation is that a reason to pull out a knife? " he asked

A small muscle twitches in Elle’s jaw. ”She wasn’t there. I’m sure of that. And if I don’t show my authority, what’s keeping her from running before we get answers? She clearly knows more than she’s letting on. Or she’s in the position to at least. Any other questions?” She clenches her jaw slightly at the sound of the drumming, her breathing hitching slightly. Bang. Bang. Screaming. Blood. Dark alleys. Heads thrown back. Empty e- She blinks and shakes her head slightly, forcing herself to focus. “Anyone other objections?”

Mari could feel the anger in her words. She watched as Landon tried to reason with her, but she could tell that the girl was too blinded by her emotions to see sense. For a brief moment Mari contemplated rushing towards her and smacking the knife out of her hand. That moment passed very quickly. Not only was she too out of shape to be rushing very quickly anywhere, but angry knife girl was ANGRY KNIFE GIRL. Probably shouldn't be pissing her off.

Landon nods " yeah a couple , for one you have no authority here and if she ran its probably cause you seem like you're about to stab her" Landon said " Furthermore if people don't want to share information there is usually a good reason , I for one wouldn't want to give information up if someone was threatening me with a knife"

Elle growls softly. ”No authority? And who does? You? This girl you’ve barely met? In this world, its every man for themselves. Unless you want to call whatever the hell out us here authority.” She huffs in annoyance. ”Does no one else feel there’s more to this ọmọbinrin (girl in African) than she’s letting on? That she’s hiding something that, oh I don’t know, might be useful information?” Part of her irritation was Elle’s hatred of feeling like the bad guy, part was her anger and fear at what this shrine maiden’s true purpose is, and the rest was frustration that no one else seems to understand what she’s suggesting. Are they all that fucking naive?

Landon leans forward and shrugs " no one here has authority" he says and stands up stretching. " but even if it's useful I kinda like this weird place" he says and begins to walk out of the temple. " I'm hungry as hell so I'm going home bye" he says and waves to James and Mari before walking out of the temple. Once he reaches the end of the stairs he throws down his board and begins to skate back home.

"Have you ever thought that something was communicating through her?" James asked, finally standing up to this girl. "Just before she mentioned the Ark, her eyes glowed, then reverted to normal and she fainted. She may not no much more than we do, and whatever is responsible for this could have just used her to relay information. Regardless, there is no need for hostility. We're all trapped here, and we're all on the same side, unless you want to be out on your own. Even then, you will NOT harm her, or anyone else here." James glared at her, looking braver than he really was.

"I … who is Martha" says Yumi looking at Elle

She knows after listening to their conversation the dark skinned girl believes she knows something but she doesn't; not that it matters. Sh hears that she will not be believed and if they allow her to then the girl with the knife will harm her.

"I do not know why I am viewed as I am but must say that even if I do know more than I am saying it is a proven fact that under torture the victim tells the torturer what satisfices them not the truth.

I am like you gathered here in the dark but observation tells me that this isn't a natural world for the sun hasn't moved since I woke; that is not a sun as we know it."

Venus moves stealthy through the store she's sure she saw someone enter and nearly jumps out of her skin when a soft voice tells her that they are in the Manager's office so she picks up a can of hair spray thinking she can use it like pepper spray. As she gets closer the manager's office door opens and out steps what at first she thinks what might be a girl till she looks closer.

Elle raises an eyebrow, smirking faintly. “He speaks. Exactly, a she’s means of information if she’s being used like that.” She shrugs and sheathes her knife. ”Have you ever thought that maybe someone here is one of, or in league with them? So it is very possible we’re not all on the same team. And why yes, I’d love to be on my own, thank you for offering. But because of a damn annoying voice in my head, your stuck with me.” She crouches by Yumi and observes her for a bit. ”Your not dehydrated, so as long as we keep you cool you should be fine. Hopefully you don’t pass out again.” She looks up at James. ”And as far as me hurting others, don’t give me a reason to. Easy.”

"You threaten me or my friends again, and we're gonna have a problem." James said, getting between her and Yuki, not trusting her one bit. First, she was sneaking around behind them, watching them. Then, she pulls a knife on them, and now she's talking about hearing voices in her head. "If anyone is suspicious, it's you. How do we know you don't have anything to do with this, with that voice in your head?"

Elle raises an eyebrow then shrugs. ”Maybe not a voice exactly, but.. didn’t you feel some kind of force? And if you followed it you found other people? Hmph. Friends. Didn’t you just meet them?” She watches James keenly.

"I may have just met them in person, but I've known them for a long time though online gaming." James said. "Unlike you, whom I don't know, and don't trust."

Elle nods. ”Good on you. I haven’t given you a reason to trust me. One sec..” She leaves and goes to her bike, then returns, chewing on an energy bar. She offers one to the group. ”Anyone hungry?”

"I already ate, thanks." he said, still standing between her and the two girls.
