My Interest Check
Interest Check
Hi, thanks for stopping by. You probably have seen me around the site, as I'm a huge forum slut who somehow gets to know a lot of people. However, I tend to have a far narrower list of people I roleplay with (more on that soon). All you really need to know about me personally is that I'm a 29 year old guy.
Now, as pertaining to my roleplaying.
- I write advanced posts. Good grammar, sexy vocabulary, usually over four paragraphs per post. I expect the same from you.
- Communication and creativity is something I try to have, and you'll need the same. Talk to me and make plots and NPCs! I love hearing people's suggestions on things.
- I have the right to tell you no. If you contact me to roleplay and I feel like our style doesn't/wouldn't mesh, it won't be personal. I have a limited amount of time to roleplay, so I prefer to enjoy it 95% of the time.
- All of my roleplays are 18+ so you need to be over that age. I love dark themes, violence, and though I don't usually do smut, if I'm comfortable with you then I'm open to it.
- I prefer if you DM me your interest, but I won't get mad if you ping me here.
- My writing influences are R.A. Salvatore, William King, Richard Baker, Robert E. Howard, Robert Jordan, and R. Lee Byers.
- If we already have a roleplay together, feel free to still contact me! This isn't just for new people.
- I love a good mixture of both grim realism and over the top actions and themes.
P.S. Feel free to tell me if you like certain aspects of my plots but want to switch something up. Or have another plot you'd think I would like!
Plots
Grimdark Fantasy: It's a vast wilderness in the northern hemisphere, called the 'Northern Marches' filled with monsters, ancient demons, invading barbarians, and various other dangers. The map is dotted with unique city states that hire out mercenaries to keep the road clear and the money flowing.
Inspirations: Warhammer, Conan, LOTR, and D&D
Pirate Roleplay: Through the storms and the blazing sun, the Sea of Swords is riddled with islands and sea monsters, just north of a steaming, wide southern continent of steaming jungles. This will be a roleplay about island treasures behind various traps (I.E. Canon/Indiana Jones), pirate rivalries, ship battles, and dealing with local governments. Generally I am used to a Pirate x Non-Pirate character that is thrust into the position. I've always played the pirate, so I would like to switch it up this time and play the 'fish out of water' (pun intended). So if you're up for playing a pirate and kidnapping my character, then let's do it!
Inspirations: POTC, Conan, Golden Age of Piracy, Indiana Jones
Black Company RP: A grimdark military roleplay, where we're an army of average grunts amongst sorcerers, griffons, war elephants, and were-jaguars. We take cities, do our jobs no matter how dirty, and don't question orders. I'm not sure what role I would play, either Captain or a grunt. I'd love it if you would play Captain and I would play grunt, or if I did, you played a dark alchemist/deposed despot/sorcerer who is either their second or their paymaster.
Inspirations: The Black Company, Conan, Historical
Forgotten Realms RP: Adventure and Intrigue! The Silver Marches is preferred, but I'm cool with anywhere. I'm not picky with our characters, though let's not make anything crazy like the current editions. No minotaurs, or necromancers with an army of undead, or anything huge. Let's try to keep it semi-realistic and down to earth. Besides, why wouldn't you want to be the underdog?
Inspirations: What it says on the tin.
Bounty Hunter's Quarry: Could be sci fi or fantasy. One of us is a bounty hunter and their target is the other player, which sends them on a bunch of wacky adventures as they try to bring them in for the bounty and inevitably working together!
Inspirations: Star Wars, Conan, Cowboy Bebop, Warhammer Fantasy/40k
Witch Hunters: Sort of a cross between the Grimdark Fantasy RP, Urban Fantasy, and the Sci Fi Inquisitor ones. We're two Witch Hunters going after various demons, vampires, cultists, and simple men who would rather we stay away. Could be in Warhammer Fantasy or a custom universe.
Inspirations: Warhammer, Solomon Kane, various other titles.
Conan The Barbarian RP: I would love to do some Robert E. Howard Conan style Roleplaying! I would play Ulbrek the Cimmerian, but you can be whatever you'd like.
Inspirations: Hmmm
Less Developed Plots Ideas (That I'd still love to do):
Dungeons & Outcasts: We've broken out of an evil wizard's dungeon with a few like-minded (shady) individuals and make ourselves into a mercenary/bounty hunting/questing group that takes the worst jobs for nothing but money and our own self interest.
Thieves of a Feather: We're two theives going after the same magical item, either in a dungeon or in a heavily guarded keep. We bump into each other, and before we can see who steals it first, we need to escape with our lives.
Shadow of the Dark: We both play Dark Elves in an uneasy alliance trying to gain power and prestige in a Dark Elf city, entangled in this cutthroat world of intrigue and danger three miles below the surface. I might choose to be a surface dweller that was taken as a slave as well, depending.
Arabian Lights: I play a pit fighter under an Arabian city, having won the tournament. Jealously, some fighters ban together and throw my character off a cliff. He wakes up near a lamp and rubs it, summoning you as a genie (be as over the top as you want). One of two things happen. One, it plays straight like Aladdin. Or two, my character was once a slave, so he immediately frees you. You don't know where to go so you follow him, but he needs to keep your lamp safe because anyone else who rubs it can enslave you again for 3 wishes.
Intrigue: We're both lower nobility/courtiers/ministers who wish to take the throne. We could be rivals, allies, secret lovers, etc.
Princely War: I'm a prince, needing to hold the Kingdom together while my father is away at war. You're the vizier or prime minister, either helping me, vying for power, or perhaps both?
Knight Errant & Bard: Exactly what it says on the tin. One of us is a hero and the other is the intrigued bard that follows them everyone and gets into trouble.
