Armored Form

"That sounds dangerous...... Lets do it!"

Name: Alexander DeMarko

Age: 17

Status: Third Year Student at the Academy

Personality: Alexander seems to have an almost split personality. Out of his armor he is almost always quiet and shy, keeping his body posture closed and his eyes down. He is rather intelligent with a creative mind and a fairly good eye for art, but is so soft spoken on an average day that very few realize it. He likes to laugh and smile, but seems almost embarrassed to do in front of others. He has a hard time approaching other or making friends, and seems to have a tendency to apologize for everything.

In his armored form, however, Alexander is an entirely different person. He is fearless, rambunctious, and not afraid to lose himself in the moment. All of his fears and insecurities melt away, his self confidence shoots through the roof, and he has no problem standing up for himself or others. He doesn't understand why he feels so different in his armored form, but suspects it has something to do with the feeling of strength and freedom being in it brings him. Like he's finally able to the person he wishes he was.

Biography: Alexander is the 7th child out of 10. Born to a successful merchant family, Alexander had little to look forward to for his future. His eldest sister was first in line to inherit the family business, and it always appeared to Alexander that his other siblings were far more talented and successful then he could ever be. He grew up being largely ignored by his parents, who had too much on their plates to begin with, and had a hard time making friends since he was so shy and withdrawn.

At the age of 10 Alexander began to wander farther and farther away from his home, looking for a quiet place to sit and draw, away from the hustle and bustle of his home life. It was on one of these outings that Alexander first met his partner, a Bagon at the time, that was hanging helplessly off the side of a cliff, its mouth clamped around a lucky root that just happened to be strong enough to hold the little dragons weight. Although Alexander was terrified and a horrible climber, Alexander managed to get to the dragon pokemon and pull him back to safety. He's never been entirely sure, but its Alexander's belief that Bagon had been daydreaming about flying, and managed to slip.

The little dragon was thankful that it followed Alexander home and refused to leave his side ever since. Alexander lovingly named the Bagon Hopper and the two have been inseparable ever since. Hopper was rambunctious, fearless, and fiercely protective of Alexander. It was only
a short while before Hopper managed to evolve into Shelgon. The two would often wander the woods together exploring and finding little adventures that made Alexander feel whole and worthwhile, for at least a short time. It was on one of these adventures that Alexander's life would change forever.

While out exploring a new area, farther up the side of a mountain then the two had ever traveled before, Alexander slipped on the edge of a cliff and fell. In a desperate attempt to save his friend, Hopper jumped after him. It was at this moment that two miracles seemed to occur at once. The first, was that hopper evolved in Salamance so he could save his friend, the second was that Alexander unleashed his Unity ability. For the first time in his life, Alexander felt a weight being lifted off his chest. He felt like an entirely different person, free from his own insecurities and doubts. The form didn't last for long, and Alexander had no idea what had happened, but when he told his father what happened the aging merchant immediately understood and enrolled Alexander in the knight academy.

Alexander has done well at the academy so far, though he still has a difficult time being social around other. He had hoped that he would better understand why he feels so different in his Unity form then he does on a daily basis, but has yet to find any real answers.

Partner Pokémon + Unity Abilities: Alexander's pokemon is the Salamance Hopper. Hopper acts both as Alexander's mount and partner in battle. Alexander's armor does little for defense but allows him to share Hopper's impressive strength and speed. His enormous battle axe is able to cut through most things with ease (Dragon Claw) and in a pinch Alexander can directly increase his speed and strength by moving in a way that mirrors Hopper (Dragon Dance). With Hopper's help Alexander is able to fly high into the air and attack from above (Fly, although Alexander cant fly by himself). If ever angered, Alexander abandons all sense of himself and attacks in a blind rage. While powerful, he often feels drained and confused afterwards (Outrage).

Alexander has little experience fighting in real battles, but has noticed that in those instances after winning a sparring match or fight against another, he feels oddly stronger.

Quirks:
- Alexander is actually a very talented artist, but refuses to show his work to almost anyone.
- The only reason Alexander's personality changes while in his Unity form is because he feels confident enough to be the person he wants to be.
-He would literally fly everywhere instead of walking if he could.

@TheNoCoKid Hey! If I create a character that is a First Year and basically beginner, could it work? Would she know how to Harness Unity at the beginning, or would she need to learn.

I was thinking of making it so she's a real newbie to the school and start from the bottom. She would have a Gardevoir that just evolved, too. I am just wondering if it could work in whatever you had in mind. :)

In fact I have like a specific idea in mind I am wondering if it would work. Could I talk with you through PMs see if you'd accept before I start to write?

@FrogRFlowR Sure thing. If you’re going with a first year, she probably wouldn’t have a total grasp of how to use Unity just yet. Like, se may have done it once or twice before, but she hasn’t learned to use it consistently yet.

A Gardevoir may be a bit much for a first year as well unless there’s a reason she has it (I.e. @LuckyBlackCat using her mother’s Pokémon). That being said, I’m more than willing to discuss over PMs

Personality / Biography

Willow is a reserved young teenager. She does not usually needlessly speak or mingle with others. This is not because she is a loner, mean or uninterested of others but actually a result of how she grew up.

Willow's family were very poor and grew up in an isolated village where they were mostly seen as pariahs. This was because of an old story about her mother in the village where, apparently, she was the cause of a young man's fatal accident. One thing leading to another mixed with superstitious belief and a few years down the line Willow's mother was branded a Witch and mostly left in exile on the border of the village.

A direct result of this was that Willow grew up secluded and mostly alone with her mother. Her father was never part of the picture, gone or deceased before she really could remember. She inherited her mother's disgraced statue and was mostly avoided or ignored at the village. Still, they managed to live a good life growing their own food and taking care of themselves just her mother, herself and their Pokemons. of those there was two; her mother's Meowstic and Willow's Ralts. The terrain they lived in was lovely and full of green and in that regard, her childhood was happy.

Their luck turned quickly, however, when Meowstic passed of old age. He had already been aged when he decided to remain with Willow's mother, so it was only natural. Her own mother passed shortly after, and life only got harder. Willow tried to stay and live like they used to, but it was unattainable on their own so she finally had to leave after a few months.

A life of near solitude left her uniquely unskilled at meeting people and she was mostly a silent girl. By this time, her Ralts had became a Kirlia and was her only companion and both of them loved and cared for each other dearly. The first time then that they achieved Unity was born of pure necessity and was a surprise. They had been living on the streets for a time and a group of bad people wanted her to leave for some reason or another and were becoming quite aggressive, so it happened. Willow did not hurt them, the simple fact that it happened caused them to flee but the phenomenon did not go unnoticed. Someone from the Academy had heard of it and soon, Willow was enrolled into it since she had the ability for Unity.

Only recently arrived, Willow is among the fresh recruits of the Academy, but is willing to give it her all despite so far keeping mostly to herself.

Partner Pokémon + Unity Abilities:

Kirlia

Iris and Willow have been together since they were both babies, almost. They see each others almost like sisters, and Iris especially, as a Pokemon and therefore having some additional powers, feels the need to protect Willow and sees herself as the big sister. Personality wise, she will be more confrontational than her Trainer and often jump in between Willow and anyone trying to bully her or hurt her. Despite this, she remains but a Kirlia and her actual powers are still developing.

When they use Unity, Willow bears a very light armor which is green and white in color. The armor itself is a green dress like clothing that is held into place by a leathery, white chest piece that offers light protection. Her leg guards and bracers are made of white metal and she also has shoulder guards. All of which is completed with a hood over her head, looking more like a light Scout than a fighting Knight which might be a result of her Pokemon not having achieved their final evolution yet.

Inspiration

In that form, Willow also become armed with a curved, Scimitar looking sword that emanates a violet glow. The blade itself does not cut physically, instead it passes right through a target causing damage directly to the mind (Psychic), yet can still be used to block physical attacks such as someone else's sword.

The rest of this form's ability are mostly defensive. Willow can summon 2 mirror images of herself which are made to confuse an enemy (Double Team). Last, but not least, she can 'blink' short distances (Teleport), although it is hard to use with accuracy and still require training.
