I N T R O D U C T I O N:

Welcome fans of Marvel, DC and all comics alike. Absolute Comics is a sandbox based RP that seeks to merge and mix the lore of your favourite DC and Marvel characters into one living cohesive world. The idea behind this RP is not to embody our favourite heroes to simply retell iconic stories and origins but to take these characters and make them our own. In fact, the goal of the RP is for players to take their favourite characters and re-imagine them to tell their own stories. We only ask that the 'heart' of the character remains the same. Players will take the roles of their favourite characters and tell stories either alone or in collaboration with other players in order to develop and grow the world.

Characters from the worlds of Marvel and DC Comics are first and foremost encouraged, however compatible characters from across other publishers and even other media will be considered. That said there are several characters who have appeared in publications over the years that are not only undesirable for this setting but outright won't be considered. These include the following:

  • Transformers
  • Star Wars
  • Star Trek
  • Monsterverse (ie Godzilla and King Kong)
  • Power Rangers/Super Sentai*
  • Sonic the Hedgehog*
  • Other Manga/Anime*
*I understand some of these characters could be made compatible and are welcome to a case by case evaluation by PM.

N O T A B L E I N D I V I D U A L S:

BRAND, ABIGAIL - Abigail Brand is the Director of S.W.O.R.D.

CORNELIUS, DR. ABRAHAM - Dr. Abraham Cornelius is the current head of Project CADMUS and visionary of the new wave of super soldiers.

DJOSER, THEO RAMSES - King Theo Ramses the Second is the current ruler of Kahndaq, currently pursuing a relationship with Bialya to form a union between their two nations.

FURY, NICHOLAS J. - Director Nicholas J. Fury, or simply 'Nick', oversees S.H.I.E.L.D.

FISK, WILSON - The Mayor of New York City.

SIRTIS, BEATRIZ MARCIA - Queen Beatriz Marcia Sirtis of Bialya is the ruler of Kahndaq's neighbouring nation.

STEDMAN, CECIL - Cecil Stedman is the director of the covert paramilitary Global Defense Agency.

WALLER, AMANDA - Amanda Waller, or 'the Wall', oversees A.R.G.U.S. and its subdivisions.

N O T A B L E I N F O R M A T I O N:

A.I.M. - Originally an offshoot of Hydra, Advanced Idea Mechanics or A.I.M. is best described as an organization of scientists and their hirelings dedicated to the acquisition of power and overthrowing of all the world's governments through science and technology. The organization supplies arms and technology to various terrorist and subversive organizations to foster a violent technological revolution and to generate profit.

A.R.G.U.S. - The Advanced Research Group Uniting Superhumans, A.R.G.U.S. is an international group headed by Amanda Waller, specializing in the ‘procurement’ of superhuman resources.

◼ D.E.O.: A subdivision of A.R.G.U.S., the Department of Extranormal Operations is run by Special Secret Agent Robert Todd, otherwise known as Mister Bones. The subdivision monitors and catalogues superhumans and those with abilities, using this data to prevent any threat to the general public.

◼ PROVIDENCE: Providence is a specialized militarized offshoot of A.R.G.U.S. that was created in response to the Nanite Event. A public-facing entity, perhaps more so than its parent organization, Providence's first priority is to cure the naninte-infected EVOs; if a cure cannot be secured, then they are to contain the threat. As an absolute last resort, Providence will issue a kill command, but their official doctrine is 'Cure, Contain, or Kill.'

EARTH PROTECTION FORCE - The Earth Protection Force was once an intelligence organization established in secret by the US government in the wake of the Roswell incident to counter extraterrestrial threats on Earth. It served as the primary planetary defense agency throughout the Cold War and the early 21st century before S.W.O.R.D.'s founding. Soon after, the EPA had its funding significantly reduced, and almost its entire staff was transferred to the new agency before the organization was dissolved six months later. Conspiracy theories regarding the EPA appeared on the internet, claiming it currently operates as a secret black-ops unit filled with Men in Black agents, with its sole purpose now serving as a failsafe in the unlikely event that extraterrestrial threats manage to bypass the impenetrable defenses built by S.W.O.R.D

FOOT, THE - The Foot is a ninja clan founded during the Bakumatsu after the Hamato Clan, like other clans, was dismantled and consolidated around the kazoku. They operated as an organized crime syndicate akin to the Yakuza, even though the two gangs often clashed over territory in the Japanese archipelago. But the Foot's use of ninjutsu, their entry into corporate espionage and sabotage, and their subtle operations allowed them to survive relatively well into the present. Its leader, known only as The Shredder, then became personally involved in expanding operations to the United States, particularly in New York City. Their presence arguably prevented an all-out war with the Hand from breaking out. Even though the public doubts their existence, those who have encountered them understand why it's best not to get crushed by the Foot.

FOREVER KNIGHTS, THE - The Forever Knights are a centuries‑old secret order obsessed with controlling, weaponizing, or eradicating anything they consider “unnatural,” a definition that has shifted with every generation. Originally founded in medieval Europe to hunt dragons and other mythical beasts, the order splintered over time into competing sects, with some focusing on hoarding alien technology and others on purging metahumans, mutants, and extraterrestrials from Earth. One of their factions, headed by Sir Enoch, was halted five years ago by Ben Tennyson, with many of its members ending up in prison for their crimes, including Sir Enoch. Due to the nature of this blow, the organization has since gone underground.

GLOBAL DEFENSE AGENCY - A clandestine and covert paramilitary law enforcement intelligence agency, the Global Defense Agency is overseen by Director Cecil Stedman and is tasked with monitoring and handling global superhuman threats. Operating from a hidden base beneath the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, the G.D.A. is presumably affiliated or associated with the United States federal government. However, its operations extend far beyond domestic borders. Despite nearly no one knowing of it, it is one of the few agencies willing to sponsor superheroes in place of traditional law enforcement.

JUSTICE SOCIETY - The Justice Society, or Justice Society of America, otherwise known as the J.S.A. was an active organization of Superheroes following World War II before being forcibly disbanded following the conclusion of the Cold War. Often considered the 'Golden Age' of heroics, the J.S.A. gave birth to the modern image of the masked or caped hero and enjoyed a period of unregistered activity that endeared them to the general populace. However, attitudes changed and calls for accountability eventually led to the Society going their separate ways.

HYDRA - Initially known as the Brotherhood of the Spear, HYDRA's beginnings took place as far back as the thirteenth dynasty in connection with the cult of Imhotep. Over time, the Brotherhood left Egypt and ingrained itself like a multi-headed serpent into all facets of human society, from science to magic to politics. The Brotherhood's name was almost prophetic however, as they came into possession of the Spear of Destiny, the very weapon used to pierce the side of the Christ. Much of HYDRA's power and influence came from the Holy Lance, but it was lost after World War II. Without it, HYDRA receded into the shadows again before ultimately splintering into several factions.

NANITE EVENT, THE - The Nanite event occurred five years ago in the small European nation of Abysus due to the interference of A.I.M. during the Stark Expo, which led to a breach. Despite a failsafe that prevented any airborne nanites from becoming active, quarantine ultimately failed. In the fallout, these nanites have spread in some form all over the globe. Thankfully, they seem unable to self-replicate outside of a living body. Strangely, only planet life in Abysus seems to host nanites; they are attempting to spread but Providence has teams around the border of Abysus creating a one-hundred-metre deadzone.

PROJECT CADMUS - A shadowy organization within the government that is run with impunity, answering to only Director of Homeland Security Alexander Pierce and the President. Created in response to the successful creation of a super soldier in Captain America, Cadmus has been dedicated to recreating the same serum that transformed a young man into Captain America. While efforts to replicate the serum have been inconclusive, Cadmus has crafted several experiments to help humanity stay ahead in the age of superheroes. Due to the success of the Weapon X Program under his supervision, Abraham Cornelius was promoted to and currently is the director and lead scientist of Cadmus. Cadmus willingly works with every government organization, but never without quid pro quo and never on the books.

PURPLE DRAGONS - The Purple Dragons is a street gang founded in New York City's Lower East Side. It is particularly known for utilizing the image of a purple dragon in their graffiti, tattoos, and even clothing. Their activities include racketeering, illegal gambling, arms trafficking, extortion, assault, and murder. The Dragons were merely one of the gang vying for control until Hun and Angel emerged as its leaders, aggressively expanding their operations across the city. And within a couple of years, the street gang found itself seated alongside the most influential crime families on the East Coast. At the same time, a rumor quickly spread around the underworld that ninjas bearing a red, trident-like footprint on their uniforms have been seen alongside the Purple Dragons and their leaders.

R-KER ISLE - Rising from the East River between the Bronx and Queens, this formidable prison houses only the most dangerous inmates and superpowered villains alike, its reputation as unforgiving as its walls. Ryker’s Isle's history is steeped in darkness, having served as a prison during the Cold War. Ryker's Isle loomed as a symbol of oppression during that time, its concrete walls and looming watchtowers stretching shadows across the restless river. When it was renamed 'R-ker' Isle by order of Mayor Fisk, it returned to its role as a maximum-security prison. Still, rumours persist that the anguished and experimented souls of the Cold War victims still haunt its halls, their cries echoing through the night. Notably, it is also the origin of the escaped fugitive known as Sticks, a Japanese soldier who is really good with the blade.

S.H.I.E.L.D. - The Strategic Homeland Infiltration and Espionage Logistics Division is a shadowy branch of the United States Government and operates with the highest security clearance within the borders of the U.S.

SPEEDWAGON FOUNDATION - Founded by Robert E.O. Speedwagon in the early 20th century, the Speedwagon Foundation existed primarily as a means to funnel their founders wealth in oil and real estate into effective research of and defense against certain paranatural phenomena. With extensive research into vampirism, ancient humanity, and the mysterious Stand phenomenon, the Speedwagon Foundation particularly specializes in those areas where the line between magic and metahumanity begins to blur. Through liaison with SHIELD and ARGUS, the Speedwagon Foundation remains one of the leading private interests in the globally developing superhuman community.

STANDS - A largely misunderstood phenomenon toeing the line between metahumanity and magic. A Stand typically manifests as a ghost-like entity bound to its user, sharing effects and damage between Stand and user/host. Stands come in a variety of forms, possessing innumerable distributions of power, durability, range, speed, precision, and developmental potential. Almost every Stand possesses some kind of special ability, shared with its host, ranging from elemental control to the manipulation of time itself, though these abilities are typically metered with an esoteric restriction or activation condition. Stands have remained largely unknown due to the secrecy of the phenomenon: the Stand ghosts themselves appear imperceptible to those without Stands or enhanced abilities of their own, though a handful of ordinary humans have managed to overcome this factor through feats of will. Stands were originally believed to come from an extraterrestrial virus, killing most hosts but infecting a select few with powerful abilities. However, further research has indicated Stands can manifest from a variety of phenomena, the nature of which is still being researched to this day.

S.W.O.R.D. - The Sentient World Observation and Response Division is a joint venture between S.H.I.E.L.D. and A.R.G.U.S. aimed at collecting information on extraterrestrial worlds while also being Earth’s first countermeasure to any threat from the stars.

T.C.R.I. - Techno Cosmic Research Institute is a scientific corporation headquartered in Brooklyn, New York that performs research and development of new products and technologies for space and sea. Their partnerships with S.T.A.R. Labs, LexCorp, and various corporations and research organizations worldwide have led to breakthroughs in deep-sea and space exploration. In recent years, however, the institute has begun developing an alternative propellant for rockets and space stations. But they're facing public scrutiny after an explosion at one of their facilities caused a chemical leak that spread to the nearby city of Dakota and led to a mass mutation with its victims being referred to as a "Bang Baby" by national media. CEO Baxter Stockman has yet to respond or even comment on a situation that happened just days ago.

WATCHER'S COUNCIL, THE - An ancient and largely secretive organization tasked with observing, training, directing, and ensuring the Slayer line over centuries. Originating from the original Shadowmen, the Council has historically sought to control the Slayer with knowledge, prophecy, and ritual. They present as guardians against darkness; while their methods often prioritize order and authority, there are those in their number who influence in different ways and following the fractures of the Slayer line, the council has branched

WOLFRAM & HART - A powerful law firm operating as a front for ancient demonic forces. They have deep ties to corruption, chaos, and manipulation. Their influence extends across legal, political, and supernatural spheres, and they often shape events from behind the scenes. They are devoted to advancing the interests of darkness, particularly those aligned to the Old Ones.

P R E M I S E:

Absolute Comics is a collaborative linear sandbox roleplay that uses the ideas presented in Marvel and DC Comics' various media to create new and exciting stories using familiar elements and characters. To those of you asking exactly what a collaborative linear sandbox is, I define this style of game as a compilation of linear stories written by multiple groups of people that interact and mesh to create one persistent game within the same sandbox. If that's as clear as mud for you, let me try to clean it up.

In-game history is decided on a first-come, first-served basis. However, it should not be designed in a way that locks another player out of taking on a favourite role. For example, if a player applies as Dick Grayson before an application has been received for Bruce Wayne, the player applying as Grayson can decide to portray Dick as Robin, Nightwing, or even Batman. No matter which of these roles the Grayson player chooses, it has an effect on a future Bruce Wayne player.

Due to the inclusive nature of the roleplay, a Bruce Wayne player would have to craft their CS to reflect a Bruce who allows for opportunities for a Grayson player or other notable members of the Bat-family. For instance, if the Grayson player chooses to be Nightwing, then the Bruce Wayne player will need to portray an older Batman. Even if a ‘Dick-Bats’ could block a player from playing Bruce Wayne as Batman, it shouldn’t necessarily block Bruce Wayne as a character. If both parties desire, a Batman Inc.-like scenario could even be worked out. It should also be noted that villains are viable as player characters, and applying for Captain America does not mean another player can't join as Red Skull, pending some agreement between the two players.

Rogues, enemies and otherwise foes of heroes can be reinvented and explored in new pairings, though all 'archenemies' should be cleared with a 'parent' character player or GM before doing so. Minor villains and fodder, however, will be regarded as first-come, first-served and can be 'claimed', within reason, by noting them on your application.

S O U R C E M A T E R I A L:

As previously mentioned this roleplay allows players to draw upon characters from not only the Marvel and DC Universes but other characters may be considered on a case by case basis if they fit the tone and feel of the game, however, priority will be given to characters who originate from Marvel and DC comics. Your character concept can be based on any iteration of the character, and can start from any point in their career as there won't be one date isolated as 'Zero Year'.

What this means for you as a player is that the world's Spider-Man could currently be Miles Morales, Iron Man could be replaced by Iron Heart, Batman could be Terry McGinnis. This also means that some heroes might just be starting out, perhaps the Teen Titans were just formed? Maybe Scott Summers just found out he was a mutant? The changes and possibilities are near endless but are sure to create a unique world for us to tell our own takes on these 'modern myths'.

G A M E P L A Y:

COMIC BOOK TIME & GHOST WRITING:
Sometimes, as a writer, you're tied up in your own plot, but another pops up that you'd like your character to be part of. As a comic book game, posts in the IC thread do not necessarily need to be linear. If you, as Player A, are running a plot but Player B is doing a Cross-Over with a team your character is affiliated with, you can write both simultaneously.

Likewise, characters appear in numerous issues each month, written by several different authors. In Odyssey, we're also inviting you to use that to your advantage. If you're particularly fond of someone's interpretation of a character and would like to use them in a spot for a Chapter, you may approach the controlling player and ask to do so. That player is allowed to deny you flat-out, or they can lend their character out with as many or few guidelines as they see fit for you to write the Chapter with. In this instance, you're given temporary control over a character as a guest or ghostwriter to carry out a Chapter elsewhere while the controlling player continues their own story. The controlling player may ask to proofread any or all posts or ask for you to retract or edit posts as they see fit if actions or instances don't match their vision.

CHAPTERS:
'Chapters' is simply a fun name for contained player plots and story arcs. These are the stories told by you, the player and governed by those of you who take on the driving role. Sometimes these Chapters may be the work of one person, other times it may be the work of a duo or even a small party of players who created something together.

This is the bread and butter of the RP, moving it forward and filling out the world as players work together to tell stories and build the setting that directly impacts not only their character but also those playing alongside them in 'Supporting' and 'Roaming' roles. There's no defined length for a Chapter; it could be as short as a single post or as long as a story spanning over thirty posts. Think of a Chapter as an episode of a television show or a single comic issue.

All players must contribute towards the Chapters in the IC and drive their characters both independently and together. Equally, it is important to read other players' Chapters and make note of significant events or even just 'broadcasted' ones to reference and relate to within your own posts. Small efforts like this go a long way in making the world feel alive and connected.

Don't feel you have to be joined at the hip at all times, though; the same plot could be told through two characters without them constantly needing to be in the room at all times. To bring about a great recent example, re-examine 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier', while Sam and Bucky spent the impactful scenes together, if it wasn't for the events they accomplished apart, the story would not have fully come together.

CROSSOVERS:
Crossovers are the icing on the cake; this is where the larger picture starts to form. A crossover is defined here as a player-coordinated and driven interaction between two or more character plots in the IC. To phrase it another way, it's when two or more 'Driving' character plots converge on the same thread. Like a 'team-up' between Flash and the Green Arrow that brings in all those associated characters. A Crossover may be as simple as a one-time team-up or a small part of a larger overarching story, depending on the ambitions of the player(s) coordinating the story and those involved. There is no limit as to how many crossovers can take place at any one time as they will be completely moderated by those involved and not the GM Team.

Crossovers may take place in a single city or even multiple cities, spanning up to a national event, depending on the number of players involved in the current crossover. Players are not required to participate in a crossover if they do not want to, and if you have approached a player and they have turned you down, we ask that you please respect their wishes. That said, all players should consider participating in a crossover from time to time if only to recharge and avoid burnout due to lack of interaction. You will never be required to remain within the crossover for its entire run unless you become integral to its story, in which case it is only respectful to do so.

Ultimately, the structure of each crossover will be dependent upon the player(s) organizing it. It should be noted that a crossover should never change the status quo of the game, and while consequences and fallout is encouraged, it should be limited to only those involved unless special permissions have been granted.

CRISES:
Crises are large-scale events that affect the roleplay on a massive scale. These events can be global, universal or even multi-dimensional. Ideally, the occurring Crisis will affect all players, but all players need not directly contribute to the Crisis at hand. The outcome of these events will affect the roleplay's status quo, wiping the slate clean or drastically changing the present world. This could mean something like DC's Rebirth, where abandoned characters can be reset, allowing new players to assume their roles without the need to continue previous stories, or Marvel's Civil War, where characters and their beliefs will be challenged, changing the alignment of different characters and the shape of different team rosters. These events won't take place often, but when they do, they will be designed to directly impact the RP.

R U L E S & R E G U L A T I O N S:

Players may take the role of any hero or villain from the DC and Marvel universes. Exceptions to this include characters which appeared due to crossovers with other franchises. Characters originally appearing in Manga or Anime are heavily discouraged because of their incompatibility with Western superhero comics. Other comic titles discouraged are those belonging to science fiction genres such as Godzilla, Power Rangers, Transformers, Star Trek, and Star Wars. We will judge all properties from outside of the Marvel and DC Universes on a case-by-case basis, provided they fit the themes and tones of the game, but the above limitations are definitive.

The GMs hold the right to veto any application that they feel is incompatible with this game. Whether by application content, character or player experience. The GMs are under no obligation to give any reason for an application rejection.

We will grant a second character to players at their request, provided they have proven consistent and reliable prior to asking. Additionally, the player should not be abrasive towards either the GMs or the other players; instead, they should inspire the community and help the game flourish. To summarize, players need to meet three criteria:

  • Post consistently, driving stories forward and referencing the world at large
  • Post reliably within posting requirements with minimum guidance from the GMs
  • Contribute to the game and community positively (i.e. Comment on posts and discussions, take part in Crises, create Crossovers, etc.)

Team applications may only be submitted as a second application and are subject to higher scrutiny by the GM team. While players are still welcome to submit applications for pairings or trios, applications for four or more characters (The Fantastic Four notwithstanding, provided it’s the canon characters) will only be permitted to players who have been granted a secondary character spot. Teams exempted from team applications include the Justice League and the Avengers. Not all teams are equal, and the eligibility of each team application will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

If a player applies as a team by themselves but is open to other players taking the reins of specific characters or otherwise helping with their concept, they may indicate so on their sheet. In this case, prospective players will fall primarily under their purview, although the GM reserves the right to final say in all player acceptances. Should a solo player not want anyone else involved with their team, they have no obligation to entertain inquiries.

If players choose to compete for a character, you have a twenty-four (24) hour window to state your intent to compete. The competing application(s) will then be given a seventy-two (72) hour deadline in which both players must submit their samples if they have not done so already. The GM Team will then judge the two competing applications. The winner will be selected by the GMs based on who they believe better portrays the character and has a stronger concept. During this competition, the GMs may also vet a player's history to check for posting consistency or previous incidents of abrasive behaviours to better weigh their options.

In terms of character creation, you are free to overhaul and redesign any canon character from one of the aforementioned publishers. This means you can tell the story of the character how you believe it should be told. However, the character should remain recognizable, though given the inspired source material, you may make any change necessary to tell your story. Every aspect of the character is malleable within the combined universe; this can even include sex and abilities if so desired. You will have more freedom with this in your multiverse than within the Prime Universe.

Absolutely no 'OOC' chatter in the In Character Thread. If you have a question or anything to explain, there is an Out Of Character Thread provided. You have no excuse to make an 'OOC' comment in the IC, and if done, it will be heavily frowned upon. If you require a more immediate answer, don't hesitate to directly ask the GM Team or relevant player through tagging, PM or other methods.

Writing expectations for this roleplay are at least two (2) well-developed paragraphs as a minimum per post. Three (3) to five (5) paragraph posts, however, would be awesome so long as you're not simply chewing the scenery. Proper spelling and grammar are also expected but small mistakes here and there are understandable. Blatant offences will be called out.

You are required to post at least once per character within a fourteen (14) day period. There will be a post-check-in, once per week performed by the GMs to ensure the IC is moving consistently. Extensions will be given in extenuating circumstances. Please recognize your limitations before joining the RP. If you are unable to post once every ten days, then it's highly likely that you do not have enough time to keep up with the RP. If you do miss the deadline, your character will be listed as 'inactive'. After a further week of inactivity, your character will be expelled and dealt with as necessary in the IC, whether killed or used as needed and then discarded. This whole process is simply easier if you just let the GM know if you're unable to keep up or simply have lost interest in the RP. If you find yourself in a plot with another player and they disappear, do your best to move on without them and quickly finish the arc to the best of your ability, or ask for the help of a GM.

This is a Character-Driven RP, and as such you are encouraged and expected to take charge of your character's subplots and storylines. There will be a heavy emphasis on collaborative activities and team building as well. The GMs will be leading the RP in the traditional sense with a driving plot and will ensure the RP keeps moving; however, we do want to see you develop your characters and produce your plots. However, we don't want you to lock your character out of interaction and focus solely on your character and their 'world'. No one enjoys watching you play with yourself; it's always better to let someone else join in on the fun.

If you join this RP, if you take the time to apply, I'm putting my faith in you that you'll be committed to it and that the character you play will be consistent with the one in the agreed-upon CS. I have a hard time with this sometimes, and I understand that things just happen. That said I’m referring to suddenly giving a character new powers with no explanation or completely changing their backstory to add new skills. I’m okay with changes, but I’d like a heads-up first, so perhaps we can work a more natural way towards these things happening. In terms of commitment, dropping out of the RP randomly for whatever reason is a pain for a GM. Simply put, it wastes my time along with the other players. If you do not think you can join and you're sure something will come up, do not join. The tendency to not care about an RP after a while? Don't join. Simple as that. I will work with you when it comes to bumps in the road. If you think you're going to be out for a couple of days, that's fine. I'll find a way to excuse you from the story or play your character. However, please let the group know as far in advance as possible. If you're going on a trip, tell me something. Do not leave me wondering where you are. Let me know so I can keep things going. I will work around you if you work with me when you can.

That said there are several characters who have appeared in publications over the years that are not only undesirable for this setting but outright won't be considered. These include the following:

  • Transformers

Has anyone shown interest in this?
Usually, there's like 3 or 4 CS's up already?
Or is everyone trying to come up with something they haven't done before?

Holy flash from the past, Batman.

I've had a couple of people express interest privately in Discord, but there seems to be a significant lull right now. I know of a really good Wonder Woman concept that is in the works and potentially a Spider-Man. But nothing concrete at the moment.

I wonder how you'd feel about a plain old TMNT sheet?

I am for it!

I’ve got something in mind but it’s focused on playing with some Gotham rogues rather than being a Batman sheet concept in itself. If there’s other interest in Batman I have a workable concept for Bat-fam members that I can accomplish the same thing with, but if there’s no Batman at all I can think about taking up the cowl.

Would be fun to have a Gotham defined by its rogues instead of its Batman. I believe the OP covers it, though, in terms of first-come, first-served in terms of defining a 'franchise, having a player first take ownership of the rogues would be completely acceptable.

Man, I just want you to be here and write. It doesn't even have to be unique if you've got another story in the tank for Iris.
