Garsin was pacing the training room. "They're late." he thought out loud. His jug of sweet tea was already empty and he left his jug of water alone till training started. Even now, he had weights added to his already heave armor. He wasn't sweating though, so he guess that he would have to get some new ones soon. He unclasped the weights and set them down on the floor next to his water and walked out. He was going to go to Fukui's lab to check on their progress when he noticed the man from last night wandering the halls.... with a turkey.

"Kristof," he called out. "You and the others are running late." He noticed he didn't have any gear on him so he figured that he hadn't even been to Fukui's lab yet. "The lab is this way, you'll need some gear for the day. You may want to finish that before we get there though." He finished, pointing toward the turkey. Garsin then proceeded to guide him over to Fukui's lab. He held the door for him to enter and then went in himself.

"Mornin', Doc." he greeted, in his usual way. It seemed like he called most people by a nickname unless he need to formally address them.

"Yes sir," Audrey said, though somewhat concerned about the gun going off as Dr. Fukui was carrying it. As long as she was careful not to point anything at herself or anyone else in the room everything should be good. At least that was what she hoped. Audrey gently grabbed a couple of the smaller weapons and arranged them on the table.

She looked up upon hearing Fukui's explanation about how the weapons would be used, holding back a slight chuckle upon seeing the glitchy baton stick. Apparently the super high-tech tools had the same problems as any other equipment. Though, she wondered why they had so many weapons here anyways. What were they preparing for? Was this only about the creatures, or was there more to it?

The door to the lab opened at that moment before she could ask Fukui anything about it though, and Audrey looked over to see Garsin and Kristof coming in the room. "Good morning," she said to them as she carried another armful of weapons over to the table. "Dr. Fukui, what is this training for exactly?" she asked as she walked by him.

Garsin cut in as he noticed Fukui seemed busy with the gear still. "Survival," he stated simply. "In order to research these creatures and the 4th dimension, you need something to protect yourself and others around you. This isn't because we 'may' get attacked. It's because we WILL be attacked, have no doubt about it." He walked over to the table with the gadgets and gear on it and lifted an eyebrow at something he couldn't make heads or tails of. "It will be killed or be killed out there, and believe me, I'm not interested in the later. I am supposed to start training y'all today but it would seem that a few aren't quite...'early birds' I guess," he finished.

"That'll have to change.," he thought to himself.

{Fukui}
Fukui finished moving the weapons and gear around on the table, separating them all by usage and type. "Yes Garsin, that is mostly correct. Not only are we training to fight them, and to protect others, but to learn more about them and improve our research. But, survival does come first, so we must be ready to defeat them whenever they appear." Fuikui explained, walking over to Audrey and patting her on the shoulder. "I hope you weren't expecting something else."

[Naoto]
After cleaning up, Naoto had went off too the lunchroom to get some grub, but it looked like they had already been cleaned out. He grabbed a small sandwich that was already prepared and appeared to have been ready since yesterday. He ate it anyway on his way towards the lab, taking a quick glance at any of the maps he happened to pass by.

"Sorry I'm late, didn't expect that type of awakening. Plus, I got a little lost... those maps are confusing. Is there a reason this place has to be so big?" Naoto said as he stepped into the room, feeling his sight return to him in a slightly nauseating way. "Wooah... didn't expect that." he said. I looked around, and saw Kassy sitting on a bench nearby, Kristof sitting on another bench with a turkey, Garsin standing over in the room just up ahead, and Fukui and Audrey standing in the doorway between the room Naoto, Kassy, and Kristof were in, and the room with the desk littered with weapons and gear.

<Yo, yo yo>:
"Finally. Since we're all here, why don't we get started, shall we? Gather 'round." he said, waving everyone into the room. "Leave the turkey there." he growled at Kristof. He went around to the other side of the table, and looked over at Garsin. "You remember your first day?" Fukui asked shortly, looking back at his weapons.

"All of these weapons do different things. Lasers, bullets, sound waves, microwaves... you name it. Some work especially well for others, while some you might just not understand." he said, picking up a simple blaster off of the table, aiming it at the dummy, and shooting it with a charged pulse of energy. He looked down at a flat electronic interface on the back of the pistol, just where the hammer would be for medieval guns. It showed a bunch of different pictures, diagrams, and options. Fukui just stared at it, until it flipped through too a bigger weapon, and started to shift the gun into a rifle. He aimed it, and shot at the target, taking longer to charge, but helping aim the shot a little better, and sending the bolt off faster than the pistol version. He looked at the control again, shifting it back into it's pistol form, and tossed it over at Naoto who barely caught it. "Don't shoot anyone with it."

"Choose to your liking." he said, lifting a gauntlet up. "This gauntlet allows you to reach into the fourth dimension, letting you travel short distances in an instance, at the sacrifice of it's rechargeable battery. It only has three charges before it needs to be returned here. And it adds quiet a nice punch before the battery dies out. That feature lasts until it's depleted, not after each jump." he said, setting it down. "Might be a good fit for you Kristof... help you destroy some other man's life work." he said with a slight growl.

Next, he raised three small bladed disks with his hand, and waved Kassy over. "These are Energy disks. You can use your powers to control them, and lob them however you like." he said, holding them out in front of him. "Just concentrate on them, and they'll do the work." he coached her. He stood back and folded his arms, as she lifted them with her abilities. The rings started to glow a purple-glow in the middle of each ring, before floating around Kassy's head and being launched over Fukui's heair at the dummy rapidly. They stuck in, then pulled out and floated back. "Watch the hair!"

"Of course, all of these weapons are optional. Choose whatever you think fits best. Test them out, train with them, learn them. If you ever need a new weapon, new armor, or some other gadget you believe will help you, I'm always working on more things." he said. There were still plenty of other weapons on the table, all with different looking abilities and uses. Any of them could be chosen if those handed out don't suit.

The strongman has said little thus far, mostly stuffing his face with the delightful poultry. Especially now that his fourth dimensional smell and taste has returned. Quietly, or as quietly as one can munch away at a turkey leg, Kristof wondered just what in the world was this guy's problem. It is as if the doctor has a perpetual stick up his ass. Groaning discontentedly as he was forced to leave the delicious bird on the bench, he nods to the others in the room. Not really knowing any of them, though he feels quite a bit better about not being the only foreigner here.

He finally speaks up after Fukui's demonstration, "Mister doctor, I am not exactly the weapon kind of person. And wearing bulky armour like mister Garsin would see me burdened. In my line of work I was needed finesse you see." After scanning Fukui's almost fed up expression he added, "But, if it is the opinion of an expert, I will take the recommendation." looking over the gauntlet he finishes with, "Though, I am not the best with technology, I will need guidance."

Hmm that does make sence, Audrey thought to herself. She must just be getting paranoid. Audrey watchedas Fukui gave his demonstration. All of the weapons had such powerful capabilities in them. If they could create such unique abilities for the weapons, she wondered how amazing the non-combat technology they had acess to was capable of.

"Alright, then!" Garsin said as he claped his hands together and rubbed them, "Whenever you are all finished here, I'll meet y'all in the training room and I'll let everyone know what we are doing from there," he said as he started to leave the room.

{Fukui}
"Why thank you Kristof, I do believe it to be the opinion of an expert, and find it find of you to agree with my choice. Most people decide they don't like what I pick... and just mess around for weeks with each different weapon, playing with them like toys, and never taking the time to truly master their weapons." he said, before nodding. He then turned to Garsin, holding a hand up. "Just wait a moment!" he yelled out, reaching for some more equipment on the table. "Your'll need these to communicate on the field, might as well get used to them now." he said, tossing Garsin an earpiece, then tossing one to each of the others. "Use this as well." he said, tossing a small capsule to Garsin. "Figure out who needs it best, Garsin." Fukui said to him, before turning to the others. "It's a special device that's used to close the portals the fourth dimensional beings use to come here. It also reads the portals over time, and after a few minutes will be capable of forcing the monsters back through to their dimension... if they prove to be too much to handle, which they usually are." he said, before waving everyone off. "Now off off! Audrey and I will join you soon. Garsin, get everyone set up in the room, fiddle with the weapons a little, and be ready for me when I get in there." he said, waving them off more, and motioning for Audrey to clean off the table as he started to disappear into his office.

Once everyone had figured out what weapons and devices they were going to need, Audrey started clearing off the tools from the table upon Fukui's instructions. She carried them back to where they were before, yelping when one of them went off and sent a laser shooting across the lab. Thankfully it hit in the target practice area rather than any of the other equipment. Audrey sighed and clicked the safety back on the gun before setting it down.

Garsin caught the earpiece and put it on, then snagged the capsule as well. He gave it a once over while listening to Fukui explain it. "Hmm, alright," he answered. 'A few minutes' is a long time to postpone one of those creatures while they wait for it to send the monster off. In a battle, a lot could happen in a minute's time. He looked over to the others in the room. As it stands, it only seems like twoof the people who showed up yesterday were going to be of use.

"Alright then, lets get over to the training room so I can see what y'all can do. Thanks, Doc. Oh and the weights are starting to feel a little light again, so I may need a new set." He then ushered the rest out the door and then led them toward the training rooms.

"OK, before we get started, I want to know what you can do, and what you can't do. Your strengths and weaknesses if you will. Nauto, why don't you go first."

Kurano Tanaka

Kurano's eyes were filled with the blinding white light above him, as he used his hand for shade, he could see that there was now nothing at all within his room, but a single desk. He was on the floor, and his body seemed to be protesting in pain. Am I in a panic room, or an insane asylum? he asked himself, though it seemed he had no straight-jacket on. Kurano stood up, brushing the bits of dust that had collected on his clothes.

The door was directly in front of him, beckoning to be opened. He put his hand to it, and it raised up just as yesterday. The walls of the facility he was in came back, and he could see that he was in fact at the room he chose last night. How the bed up and disappeared was a mystery to him. Not knowing what to do, or why he was so rudely put on the floor, he pulled his watch to his face. It was about time for breakfast it seemed, and so he found one of those signs in the corridors. "Alright, uh, take me to the... Cafeteria, or dining hall, or whatever it's called." The machine whirred, and spouted out directions in it's monotonous tone. "This is what happens when robots run everything, it all becomes so, tiresome." Kurano sighed, and followed the directions it gave to him. "A right, a left, a corkscrew here, a loop de loop there," he mumbled as he walked, staring at the ground

Minami Shiroka

"Oh, mister! Hey mister!" Minami's small form called out to the nicely dressed man. He seemed to be just staring at the ground, moving around and talking to himself. He raised his head, and looked at her a bit perplexed. "Don't know what to do either?" He asked Minami. "Um, well, I got a message this morning saying we needed to go to a lab or something, but..." She paused, not knowing how to admit she got lost. "Alright then, we can head there together," the man answered. Minami grabbed hold of his hand instinctually, and followed him through the halls.

Once they headed closely to the training rooms, Minami could see some of the people they found earlier looking in through a window. "Maybe we should talk to them," she chimed, stopping the man in his tracks. "Wait, they've all got weapons. Is that what I missed?" He asked, holding his palm to the door and opening it up. "Hey, uh, sorry we're late. We both slept in and, um. Sorry," he said again, putting his hands behind him. Minami imitated him to her best ability, as they both stood and waited for their potential scolding.

Garsin's eyebrow raised at the two who walked in. He crossed his arms as the boy made an appology, followed by a little girl...which...he wasn't expecting but moved on. "So... the whole bed flipping you out situation..., that didn't do anything for ya, eh?" He then paced a moment before turning to Naoto.

"Sorry, but I've had a change of plans," he then turned back to Kurano, "I'm Garsin Folkvar. I'm to be your instructor here and apparently, appointed team lead for now. I would appreciate it if you would show up on time in the future, and from here on I will not tolerate excuses. Looks like you will start, I want your name and what you can do. I also want you to tell me what you can't do, strengths and weaknesses both physically and mentally." He looked down at the little girl again, unsure if she should even be here or not, but he shrugged it off and stopped his pacing, and stood a few yards in front of the young man with his hands behind his back. He looked down to him, not in a snobbish way, but mostly because of his height. "Begin."

Kurano Tanaka

Kuranos eyes were immediately drawn to the rather intimidating looking man, who seemed to have asked him a question, that was severely amplified by his returning power. "Er, the bed flipped me?" he coyly asked, as he looked at the police officer from yesterday. It was then apparently revealed that this man was to be Kuranos 'instructor' during his stay. How come I wasn't informed of this? How come I'm never informed of anything? Where are my cigarettes? Kurano was about to panic before this Garsin man stated that he would 'start first,' which almost terrified him. He asked an almost ridiculous amount of questions, as Kurano swallowed the saliva that was building in his mouth. He attempted to regain his composure once the instructor told him to begin. Kurano halfway wanted to make a joke and say, 'is this timed, sir?' but refrained.

Kurano cleared his throat, and stood straight with his arms to his side. "My name is Kurano Tanaka, sir. I can..." Kurano paused, unsure of what he could do to benefit a team. Searching desperately in his head. He then thought back to his encounter with the creature, and spoke once more. "I can think quickly and resourcefully, sir, and I am extremely good at using my ability of sound. I've used it to avoid danger in many instances, and even managed to dodge one of those creatures attacks using it."

Reluctant to talk about his weaknesses, Kurano cleared his throat once more. "I don't work very well without a plan, so I'm not good at improv. I also have a tendency to freeze up when making decisions. I'm not very strong, but I'm sure you could tell that just by looking at me. I can't do anything with finesse to save my life, and I'm overall fairly weak." Kurano was tired of listing failure after failure, he decided to mix in some qualities as well. "I am excellent at picking out details sir, though mostly legal wise. I can pin-point specific voices or sounds using my hearing ability, and I am a quick learner. I am however, a smoker. I usually smoke five or six cigarettes a day, and usually when I'm under a lot of stress, I can... go a bit crazy." Kurano chuckled a bit, thinking about all of the times he'd flipped out from a lack of nicotine. "I've never handled any weapon beyond a knife to make food with, and a metal pipe to chase off a rabid dog. I'm just a student in college, learning to become a lawyer. But, don't underestimate me. I can swindle people, I can smart talk my way out of a terrible situation, and I know how to use my surroundings effectively."

Kurano let out a deep breath, hoping that he wouldn't be deemed a 'lost cause' right off the bat. No one else there was probably going to fair any better than him, and especially not the little girl that was still clinging onto him. Why am I being put through boot camp? I'm pretty sure even prisoners have it easier than this, Kurano thought as he calmed down.

When Kurano was finished Garsin, surprisingly, let out a fairly hearty laugh, "See? Not so bad. It's good to voice these things. It brings them to light so other people know how to work with you and lets you know what needs to be worked on. Not everyone is a born fighter, but everyone can learn. You have useful skills, no doubt about it, but the only thing I can't control is your little 'nic fits'. I won't tolerate that so learn to handle yourself in the case you will not have a cigarette. All in all though, you handled yourself well to the immediate pressure of my questions." He then radioed Fukui now the he had information on the new arrival, "Hey Doc, I have a late bloomer by the name of Kurano here, would you mind sending some gear for him?" he then turned back toward Naoto. "Alright then, I guess it's back to you." He still had the little girl in the back of his mind though. He couldn't imagine taking a child out there to fight, and to be honest, if it is up to him, he won't. The grotesque battlefield is no place for a child. He'd have to ask the Bossman about it after training.

Seeing that mister police man was still gathering his thoughts, somewhat fruitlessly, Kristof placed one of his thick hands upon the man's shoulder and patted it gently. With a tiny chuckle the strongman quietly says, "You have time to collect yourself." With great gusto the man waded out for all the group to see.

With a few cursory flexes, with help from the gleaming stark lights it is truly obvious that Kristof is a well muscled man. Underneath the rather snug buttoned shirt and suspenders there is much to be shown, though some things cannot readily be seen, such as the man's heart of gold. With a warm smile he spoke directly to Garsin.

"You already know much of me friend, our chat earlier was quite fun. But for those that do now know me, I am Kristof Brandt. Strongman and loving husband." As he speaks he bows rather theatrically. Rising, he continues in his usual broken accent, " The question, I feel hard to truly know, there are things you overlook or underlook. As you know we are men of fortitude, and with that comes strength and speed. I am not partial to violence, and never would I think of taking a life. Whether from the loveliest of butterflies to the most dreadful of beasts. Perhaps you see this as weakness, it is a strength to me, a man is much more than their physical strength, you must also hone the heart, the soul.

Adjusting his suspenders he continues, "But there are weaknesses, I have never been schooled and am not so sharp of mind, perhaps you may call me stupid, I do not know. Never have I been one for orders, I enjoy freedom. I cannot say much for my powers of taste and smell other than the deliciousness of food." his demeanor becomes more stern, "Your group must know this, I will defy that which I deem immoral to my code."

"Of course, I forget my greatest strength." Kristof chuckles whilst referring to the manly mustache he is twirling.

[Naoto]
Naoto nodded to dr. fukui, and followed after Garsin and the others. Garsin ordered Naoto to share what he had first, so Naoto's first instinct was to pull out his blaster... s... which he did. He aimed them at some targets at the end of the hallway, but had trouble deciding which gun to use, being used to just a singular weapon. He aimed both of his guns down at the targets, held both buttons down slowly, letting them hum up as he slowly pulled the triggers as slowly as he could. Then, Kurano came bursting into the room, giving Naoto a jump, making him shoot the ceiling, which seemed to take the deadly shot like a droplet of water splashing on the ground.

"Dahh! How did you manage to sneak up on us like that?" Naoto exclaimed. "Sorry, but I've had a change of plans," Garsin said, deciding it would be best for the others to go first. Naoto quickly put his weapons away, and listened closely as the others explained everything. Hmm, probably explaining everything before shooting would have been a better idea. Guess this isn't police training then.

After Kurano and Kristof finished their 'shows', Naoto finally stood up. "Well... how do I start this then? The police never had us do any sort of thing. Well, I guess I'll start there, with my strengths. My name is Naoto Tsuyo-sa Taiyo, I am trained as a keeper of the peace, here in Tyoko Japan, so I have training in the general police skills. I am trained in firearms, I can keep my cool in the heat of battle, I follow directions. I also know every patrol route the officers follow, and how long it takes for them to get to the scene of a crime after it has been reported."

"Though, I admit, sometimes I have trouble controlling my anger sometimes, but I have learned to use it to my advantage. I also happen to know every police officer in the city personally, so I would be recognized on the spot. I also have been using my powers of sight to follow trails, detect clues, and sometimes even help me depict if someone's lying or not. I wouldn't be ashamed to say someone specialized in that field of lie detecting would be better than myself, however. I've also had a lot of odd jobs, so I might know a thing or two about structural integrity, which I presume would be useful to know, so we don't go taking buildings down like we had nearly done upstairs. I also have two sisters I usually spend a lot of time looking ove-" Naoto stopped, just realized what he had started saying.

"I had forgotten!" Naoto said. He looked over at Garsin, and walked up to him. "Mr. Garsin, sir. Would it be possible for me to bring my two sisters in? We had been struggling hard enough as it was, and with my out of the picture... I'm not sure they could make it on their own. No one's visiting the zoos anymore, and politics doesn't seem to be very in at the moment.... I'm sure they would not survive the week without my income!"

[Kassy]
Kassy stood there, arms folded, looking around the room and barely paying attention as everyone talked about their skills and whatnot. She did, however, catch Naoto mentioning his last name, which sparked Kassy's ears like a loose wire finally working after many years. Did he say Taiyo? That's not a common family name... is it? There's no way he could be related. she thought to herself.

Garsin eyed Kristof for a moment. Having a pacifist on a team send to deal with these creatures could be a problem. "I suppose I'm weak then, because when something chooses that it wants to kill anything it sees, I don't see a problem with killing it to protect those it endangers," he replied coldly, partially at Kristof but more at the idea of the forth dimensional creatures. He knew Kristof's strength could come in handy on the field outside of a fight, but him not wanting to fight puts strain on an already small team and possible lives in danger.

Garsin nodded as he thought about Naoto's plea for his family to be here as well. "Unfortunately, I don't have a say in that. It's up for the Bossman to decide. I'll have to warn you though, there are a lot of people here who miss their family," he replied sympathetically. The question made him a bit uncomfortable. It made him think back of his own family. He promptly pulled out his pipe from his medical pouch (of all things) and started preparing it.

While stuffing the pipe with tobacco he walked over to the wall to a small control panel. He punched a couple buttons and soon some virtual practice dummies popped up at the other end of the training room, with one closer for Kristof. There was one dummy for each of them. "Alright," Garsin called out to the group while lighting and starting his pipe, "Today, I just want you to get used to your gear. We should have a small job to do here soon so I want y'all practicing while we wait to get word as to what it is. I'll assign team roles after the mission." He sat down on a bench next to the door and started taking off the weights connected to his armor. He was careful this time to set them down himself instead of letting them fall and damage the floor. He then radioed Fukui again, "Hey any word on that gear for Kurano, Doc?"

Minami Shiroka

Minami stood close to Kurano, wondering just what she was supposed to do. She knew that the big guy was supposed to be a boss or leader or something, so she decided to speak to him. "Um, Mister Garsin sir, what about me? Ask me some questions too!" Minami started to jump up and down a bit in anticipation before a hand touched her head. It was the guy she was holding onto. "She's supposed to be a part of our group too," Kurano sighed. "I'm as reluctant as you are Garsin, but that boss guy said she would be doing missions with us." Kurano looked down at her with a frown, something Minami didn't understand. "I can fight and stuff too!" She shouted, then flailing her fists about like she was attacking something. "Can't deny her eagerness though. She doesn't quite understand what we're up against. If she had the power of sight, she'd probably think twice, though I have no idea what those things look like either," Kurano said with a saddened tone. "Cheer up mister!" She said, looking up with a smile. "You're only making it worse," Kurano replied, looking back to Garsin. "If any of us deserve to die the least, it's probably her. Unless there's someone here who runs an orphanage and takes care of the homeless. So promise me you don't send her into anything too risky, leader."

Garsin rubbed the back of his neck in thought. "Don't worry, I don't plan on it, even it Branton disagrees," He stated giving a small sigh. He didn't think letting her on the battlefield would be a good idea, but maybe there could be some simple work she could do to make her feel like she was contributing. "Sorry kid," he apologized, directed toward Minami. There are just some things a child should never experience, and from the looks of it, she's already had her share of that.

"As for you though", he said to Kurano, "I do plan on having you fight, but before that you need a weapon. However, it seems like the Doc isn't responding or hasn't completely set the radios yet." Garsin grumbled a little as he walked to a locker, oddly, the only one in the room, and put a hand on a panel next to it. A heavy 'clunk' could be heard as the locking mechanism released and the door slowly opened.

"I've been here a while, so I had to keep myself entertained somehow," he said as a large rack of weapons started to roll out of the locker. He looked back and forth between Kurano and individual weapons for a few minutes, pacing beside the long rack as he thought about which might suit him.

"Ah, here we are.... no, never-mind," he said as he picked up a large double sided ax and set it back on the rack. "Might break you before the first swing." he then saw something that he immediately saw as a perfect match, but in that same moment, it made him a little sick. He pulled out two very large revolvers that were in a leather, double, back holster.
(similar style to this but fit for the revolvers:)

"This is a pair of my favorite pistols. I've owned them since I was about your age. On the belt there, there are extra rounds, and extra grenades, for the under-mounted 30mm launcher. And don't worry the rounds not having effect. The ammunition it uses are made here and should be able to get the job done."

He then walked a little father down and pulled a sword that was in a sheath and unsheathed it to inspect it. "Take this too in case you run out of ammunition."
