[OOC] Pokemon: Nexus [Accepting Two More!]

I think you should keep the number around where it is and work on methods to keep the RP organized when we get even 15+ players.

Seriously, I've GM'd before, it gets really messy and people leave spontaneously if not worked out correctly.

First, I'm sorry for the disappearance. Anyway, I told you I changed my idea on the IC thread, not that I didn't liked the fire starter, but I just thought about doing a character like Sabrina. I just don't know if she'll be a psychic Pokemon trainer, or not. Actually, if no one has called to have Hitmonlee, Blaziken, Kingler, Scyther, and ,as a legendary, Mewtwo, that's most likely the configuration I'll use as my main team, though obviously I'll keep a few extras to use in specific situations, like any intelligent trainer.

I have two questions.

How do we roll random encounters? I mean I really don't think people should be reserving full parties, because that sucks the fun out of going on a journey in the first place. I distinctly remember having waaaaaaaay more fun randomly meeting Pokemon in an old Pokemon RP than if I were to be able to predetermine which Pokemon I obtained, in fact it's the reason I prefer Umbreon so much now.

In that particular RP I randomly encountered the rarest encounter in a particular area, that being Umbreon. First attempt at it failed, but I managed to... For lack of better word, RP my way into a 2nd battle, and I managed to capture it with an almost completely fainted party of two Pokemon.

It felt like I just enacted my very own episode of Pokemon. It was great.

And the last question is if I do encounter a Snivy, can it be shiny? Also, are you allowed to encounter Pokemon as eggs first? I would probably choose that for my shiny Snivy honestly.

I will fill the last 4 in my slot with Pokemon I meet however.

If people want to find a Pokemon, they end their post by saying ' there was a rustle in the bushes or something. I'll generate a random number, and we'll go from there I guess

Probably make a system and rules for that right now before the RP goes live. Random number generator is great, but it's only a tool, not a system. You'll need to quickly design one with rules. For instance a rule on what know Nd of Pokemom live where. Encounters in the city happen too by the way, if you read, some Pokemom have urban areas listed as their habitat.

Yeah, it would be pretty odd to find a fully evolved Pokemon in a Level 10 zone, or a land Pokemon on an ocean route.

Plan out what pokemon are availible per each zone/route/city.

EDIT: Depending on how long the RP goes on for, we might be able to get a second one as well (Since there are so many legendaries!)

Basically, you can say a legendary you wanna go for, and it's technically "reserved" for you, but it doesn't mean you're guaranteed to get it.

It's kind of a placeholder thing, as the nature of pokemon can lead to unexpected results, and it is possible not to catch your preferred legendary or for someone else to. Just a little heads up.
