Edit; Question as well, is there a specific way we're supposed to RP passing back and forth between Crimson Sky and the normal world? I know there are portals in random places, so do we just say we know of a portal down the street and walk through it?

Truth be told, Vincent and Mami would form the best team. So many tropes run assertions this combination that I don't just from thinking about it. But mainly, Vincent coming to develop a big brother instinct over her, the rest is all bonus.

In case Ling really did google about the telescope I have some information to tell you. Also, another thing that I remembered you mentioning a while ago; indeed the Cataloger's first treasure was one that allows tracking other treasures, it's not a map, however, but a Golden Compass that works pretty much like a Dragon Radar.

These days he has internalized most of the skills he needs, though, so the Compass is largely left as a memento. He wears it as a pocket watch, with as golden chain as well, linked to his armor's waist.

Just something to confirm, but is the armor (assuming that it's golden, because it's Gilgamesh and all) something that the Cataloguer had during previous encounters with Rui-Ling? Or is a new embarrassingly flashy thing that he has?

And yeah, he's gonna Google it. Maybe dig a bit further and actually ask the University for some more details as well, if Google doesn't bring up good hits.

Yes, it's golden, since it's Like Proto Gil's armor, and I assume that this is something that he had for some time, say one of the first treasure he ever found. Just so that you know, the Cataloger has an Archeology major and was part of the research team that is important to the telescope's quest when he stumbled on the Compass, and shortly after the armor set, so Ling should always have known it as such.

Otherwise why would he be called walking gold statue? Like Aria did a while ago IC? He's not that old as well, he actually has around 20 and something years.

Also, about the telescope. He would find out that what made it unique was that its mirror was made from a unique blood red geode that a team of archaeologists, geologists from Sonomachi U found at a recently discovered cave on Guatemala, about 5 years ago. The cave appeared to be a sort of ancient temple/observatory and the geode was used as a focusing mirror. Needless to say, such a discovered rocked the scientific world with almost undeniable proof that the telescope had been created a good 2000 years before the Renaissance.

After a team of physics studied the stone's optical characteristics, they argued that if it was polished and treated with modern measures it could as well become the best land based telescope in the world, which was enough (after a serious argument with the historians) to convince (via money) the Guatemala government to sell them the stone.

Once the telescope was built, however, it was necessary to use a software to correct the strong distortion it had thanks to be able to capture redshift images farm more accurately than any other telescope ever had. In truth, the skies it showed were completely alien to the scientists and they thought that it was likely an image of how the universe was at it's formation, but to put it simply, Ling would be able to make the obvious connection here. The telescope actually can focus on the Crimson Sky's sky. WHat YTC is gonna do with it is left for you to discover.

Ling disappointed me, he was on the right mental track and then left the obvious conclusion out, well, no matter, eventually everyone will learn of it, as this arc's plot moves one.

Another, is that I actually haven't considered that indeed I haven't considered the fact of how convenient the missions I came up with are for him (though I bet he would have... issues dealing with the poltergeist, for reasons). Let's see what will be of the ones @TheWindel comes up with?

No point in worrying about mysteries if he has more immediate things to attend to. But what, the geode is another Treasure, which is the real reason that the Cataloguer is coming over or something?

And yeah, Airgetlam's basically a ghost-buster. Being able to grab onto intangible things is pretty useful, I'd imagine. XD

Oh, so he's dumb as well? Good to know... Also, about the Cataloger and the geode it's a yes and no, that's part of the reason but not it all, but it would not be a bad theory IC-wise. The true use of the geode is that, if it's on the Crimson Sky, it allows one to see Earth's sky. Make of that what you'll, soon enough the plot will get there.
