The stream is shallow enough to wade through at the wide end, and narrow enough to easily jump over at the thin end. The ground is muddy and moss-covered. Weather conditions will be cloudy for the first 10 posts of the fight, after which it will begin to rain heavily, making footing uneven.

Since you already have that post up in the Black Mountain main thread, I invite you to post that here first and I'll get to a response. Then we can get our fight underway before the due date.

Oh also you can pick where you wanna start. I'll take the other position.

Gonad will start at, eh, position #1 I suppose. They look the same to me! Also, let's leave a mention in each post so the other knows when an action has been made as soon as possible.

Your move is a straight right handed punch, yes? If so, then my move was to move to your left and twist at the same time, using the raised shield to counter the attack and divert force away. But you've gone and made that move null and void unless you've got a good explanation.

It was no punch, but a feint. Connecting with the forearm was Gonad's intent the entire time.

If the King kept his shield braced before himself in anticipation of a direct attack, he'd find that it wouldn't be a fist which connected with it. It would be the big man's right forearm. Gonad would have pulled his punch to brace himself against the kiteshield. If this occured, then Galliard would bear witness to something else. A sight that had been the harbinger of the end for many warriors before him. Those blocky, scarred fingers curling around the inner rim of his shield, like iron bands.

@Doc DoctorThat's still what I meant though. My move was to divert the strike to his shield no matter what it was. That's why I lifted the shield, so the aforementioned grab to the edge wouldn't happen.

Also quite vague as to how exactly he's striking and then grabbing onto the shield. I can't visualise it.

I don't understand what you mean, Gonad wanted the strike to hit the shield. He was counting on that happening, it was his plan all along. You said it hit dead center, and I said beforehand that if such a thing occurred Gonad would commence the grabby-grabby.

Press your firearm against an open door, imagine it is Galliard's shield. Now just grab the edge of the door, palm facing away from you. I'm pretty sure that's like the only plausible way my action could be interpreted when taking into consideration that Gonad wanted to grab the inner rim whilst his forearm was pressing against the shield. Unless you are thinking of like a lariat. I'm talking about something akin to an elbow bash, but done with the forearm. For reference, here's a video of a similar thing. Gonad basically pretended to throw a punch, and instead went for that knowing that the King would probably try to block it, allowing Gonad to grab the inner rim of the shield.

Mind a rematch sometime? I think the King needs lessons on how2grapple. Cause your grapple game is amazing.

I'm kinda good at range, parrying and/or melee weapons, but this technically was the first time I've actually fought a grappler.

Hope you can understand my frustration. ><
