[OOC] Athalia Academy Season Four: Back on Track (Freaking Finally, amirite?)

Welcome back, Athalia students, to the new and improved facilities in Oasari's own Pavella! With the recent attacks from... unforeseen forces, the school and surviving students have relocated to a safer haven where Marcus, the perp, has seemed to stop his endless attacks on the school. Since then,
Maria, Carmen, Brako, and Criston have all worked tirelessly to get Athalia back on its feet, using whatever funds Oasari's people were willing to give them (a lot) to build the school from the ground up.

Today is orientation and all of the students, returning or otherwise, are seated and ready to hear from the famous Maria Cross.

...Welcome to the OP.

So...it's been 5 years since the first Academy was destroyed. This RP ignores anything that happened in the Lavanya "subset" as we're calling it. That RP can still continue should people wish it to, but this RP hopes to bring life back to the world/universe. Vets are welcome as usual and select new people are welcome as well. You must be invited to join this RP, we apologize, but ye. Loyalty over quantity, my friends. Nature of the beast, I suppose. If you desperately want to join, talk to the GM or co-GM to get things started and things can roll from there... or not. Depends on you.

Things to Note

-This RP is 2 years old. Most of the people in it have known each other for those 2 years. This mean lots of inside jokes, references to old plots, characters, events, or ideas that may or may not even really exist. For example, The Shipping Company. :|

-This RP is fantasy! Werewolves, wizards, angels, demons, gremlins, gods. You name it, we probably have it. So ye.

Also referred to as "Copycat Stigma", this ability allows the user to copy things they see. Illias has a certain amount of "Slots" for what she can copy, and if she wants to copy something she has no more slots for, she needs to lose something else. For many of the things she copies, she needs to have direct eye contact with the person she's copying from. The only exception is her appearance slots.

(Skill and ability slots normally only last for around an hour before reverting to empty. The exception is traits that are forced on her using a specific dark ritual, which she can never unlearn.)

Weaknesses:

Locked In - Illias has had immortality forced upon her. As such, she can only learn one ability at a time, whereas most people she will be facing will have several. While they cannot kill her, she will be at a disadvantage against most opponents.

Out of Time - Illias has been imprisoned for over five centuries. She has grown out of touch with the world as a result.

Night Terrors - Illias was imprisoned in perfect darkness deep underground, alone. Suffering from sensory deprivation for three hundred years, but not allowed to go insane. She is understandably afraid of the dark.

Average - While Illias can copy the physical abilities of anybody she faces, she has the disadvantage of being otherwise normal. If she cannot copy from someone, she is as fragile as any ordinary human. Even if she can't die, her body can still be broken.

Personality:
Illias is surprisingly sane after spending almost six hundred years in darkness. This is because the runes on the iron band that covered her eyes are both for blocking her powers and preventing her from blissful insanity. That said, she's still afraid of the dark, and won't even consider entering a dark room or underground chamber unless someone else is with her.

Background:
Illias was born the daughter of a fool king and an immortal queen. Tired of her life, the queen used dark magics and her daughter's powers to remove her 'gift', committing suicide by passing her immortality onto Illias. The king, blind with unjust rage, struck his daughter down, only to have that rage double when she stood back up. Driven mad by his hatred, the king ordered her locked in the deepest vault and sealed away with six powerful artifacts, blinded with iron and magic and chained in midair. And so Illias lived, imprisoned and forgotten long after her father passed on and her kingdom burned to the ground, waiting the day she assumed would never come when the six swords were once more brought to her dungeon and she would be set free.
