Desh

Location: Best Exotic
Interacting With: One hell of a hangover
Time/Date: Morning/August 2nd, 2016

Desh chewed on the end of the pen that was held between his teeth as he sat hunched over his desk. He should have been taking care of the paper work for the previous week to see what the tallies were on the hotel but instead his hand was holding an ice pack to the front of his head as he groaned deeply. The man was not a drinker and last night he had kept downing shots left and right as he watched his patrons having a blast... in another hotel. It was fun and all but it did not do well for his pride. Looking back he didn't know if he was drinking last night because he was having fun or because they were. Either way his head was his worst enemy at the moment.

Well, second worst as he leaned over the brass trash can at the side of his desk and let rip a flow of curry laced half digested swill. A grotesque monsoon poured from his lips before he flopped back in his chair, it rotating slowly as he groaned; wiping the side of his mouth with a tissue before tossing it on top of what had just made a rather rude exit from the pit of his stomach. One of the hotel maids coming in to dust and covering her nose from the smell. She didn't even need to be told, she just picked up the trash can and dropped the entire thing into a large garbage bag before dragging it out of the room. She wasn't cleaning that, he could buy another one as far as she was concerned. Untouchable or not, she wasn't touching that.

Desh shook his head a bit as he groggily stood up his knees knocking a few times as he tried to stand on wobbly knees and made his way out to the reception desk. Checking over the reservations he made a mental note to him, he had one new person checking in today. Once that was done he was going to crawl into a hole and die if he could. If not, he hoped that the bearded demon that had ransacked his precious hotel would be kind enough to butt him in the head and knock him out for the duration of his hang over. Anything was better than the blinding morning sun that poured into the reception lobby and the sound of the fans whirling above him. All it did was make him want to hurl again, but he did everything he could to control the knot in his stomach, there was nothing left but acid and he really didn't want anymore burn to the back of his throat than he already had.

Checking the clock he slumped against the counter and registrar, the newest guest was supposed to have checked in already. Hopefully they would be there soon because he really wanted to get back to bed. Granted, maybe he should just ask Murphy if he could take over at the desk today for him. He had seen Murphy drinking but he had seen Murphy drink many times and the man never seemed to wake with the plague of a hangover. Maybe he was immune to the stuff? Or maybe it was just his Irish blood. Either way, Desh wish he could tolerate the stuff like the Irishman did. The phone ringing next to him made his head pound but at least the call was worth picking up. By the time he had gotten done with the conversation and hung up he had finished arranging for a list of repairs that would be done on the hotel over the next week. At least that was done. Now where in the hell was that guest?

Chuckling at Claire, Cass rolled her eyes and dried out her hair with a towel. She got herself dressed in a black, strapless crop top and a thigh length, flowing skirt with small floral patterns across the fabric. "Aye, right there with ye sister." Cass groaned as she let her slightly cool, damp hair fall down across her shoulders and she sighed as she felt it warming against her skin already. "Why did we come 'ere again? Oh aye... It was t'see your brother. Could he no 'ave moved to a country tha' didnae make breathin' feel like torture?!"

She folded her arms and pouted her lips out, mirroring Claire's overall mood and words of this place sucking. She glanced over at Claire and then raised an eyebrow as she realised what she was wearing. "Ye no' sweatin' enough already? Ye 'bout t'hit 'eh gym as well? Oooooh, waaaait a minute..." Cass tapped the side of her own head, just above her temple and smirked. She sauntered closer towards the door of the room and let her smirk grow wider. Cass twisted the doorknob and opened the door before continuing. "Ye dressin' like a boy 'cause yer main man Alc decided to plop yer arse off 'is lap? I thought I seen him starin' a bit much at Murphy. Ye hoping if ye hide yer lady assets he'll be more interested?" At her words, Cass darted out of the room and began the descent downstairs, giggling like a child.

New Comer

Location: The Hallway on the First Floor
Interacting With: A New Comer

Tasha slowly stepped out of her room and closed the door behind her as she slipped on her sandals, she couldn't help but smile to herself, cupping her own cheek as she felt it warm with a soft blush. Things were taking a turn for the better it seemed. Her and Dominic were going somewhere, where that was she wasn't sure yet but after last night and that morning she had hopes that things were going to be very worth coming all the way out to Jaipur. Granted her work was going great and she loved what she did there but with her job she could go anywhere in the world and there were plenty of places with a lot better weather and better pay than India.

Lowering her hand she skipped down the stairs, taking them two at a time with her hand on the railing just in case the stairs decided to give out underneath her. She wouldn't put it past the establishment if that did happen. Everything was going great until she started day dreaming and remembering how it felt to have him kiss her. Her tongue slipped out and ran over her lips as she turned the corner without looking once she reached the bottom stair. Her face planting right into someone's shoulder and her yelping out a bit, what was it with her lately and being so clumsy? Grunting she grabbed the person by the chest as she caught herself.

"Shit! Sorry ab...." she started as she looked up to see who it was; figuring it was Murphy or Alc, or even Desh. It wasn't any of them and the face right in front of her caused her to freeze in her place.

"Natasha?!" A rich and deep voice spoke out with the hint of London in his voice masked by the mild American twang he had gained while living and working in the States. Tasha's eyes widened as she just leaned against the man slightly, still unable to move. She thought she was hallucinating but as she heard her name from that mouth she had no doubts who it was and that he was in fact right there.

His jaw dropped and his eyes widened as he stared at the woman in front of him. He knew she stayed in the city but he never expected her to be in the same hotel as him. He'd imagined he'd have to hunt her down before meeting her again after all these years. "You-you look well. What're you doing in a place like this?" He swallowed down the lump in his throat and glanced down at the hand grabbing at his chest before giving a crooked smile, the same crooked smile he'd given her when they'd first met so many moons ago.

God that smile, it melted her every time; it always had. Shaking off the feeling she swallowed the lump in her throat and quickly righted herself and stepped back from him as she stood there. "I live here," she stated quickly as she crossed her arms over her chest as she always did when she got defensive. "I should be asking you the same thing," she said as she motioned for him to answer the obvious question; just what in the world was he doing there, in India, in her hotel, right in front of her?

She was doing it again. Shutting off and withdrawing into herself. Lincoln crinkled his nose and shut one eye as he scratched the back of his neck to hide the sudden awkwardness that he felt; the smirk still on his face. "Well damn. Seems we've missed the turn for awkward and driven straight down to uncomfortable. I'm gonna be living here too." He swallowed again, the dry itch in his throat causing him to cough slightly, his right hand dropped his bag and he covered his mouth as he coughed and cleared it. "Ah, sorry 'bout that, not used to the air yet."

His eyes looked her over and, despite her hard and cold exterior, he knew what warmth lay beneath and he yearned to reach out and hug her but he knew better than that. Tasha's brow arched dramatically when he said that he was going to be living in there; oh this just kept getting better and better. She was just moving on with her life, had move half way across the world; not to mention she had just started something potentially wonderful with Dominic. Now he was here, her ex-fiance!

Taking a deep breath she looked around for a minute before looking back over to him. "No, I mean what are you doing here; in Jaipur?" she asked quickly. It seemed a little to convenient that he would just show up, like this, in her hotel, after everything they had been through.

Lincoln gulped inaudibly before opening his mouth to answer. "I'm gonna be working here, in Jaipur. Security for Apex to be specific." Tasha's eyes narrowed even more, her hospital. He wasn't sure what else he could say that didn't make him sound crazy and stalker like. He hadn't been prepared to run into her so soon. I mean, what were the damn chances of this happening?! He took a deep, calming breath. His chest rose and fell as he repeated the process. He shouldn't be this worked up, should he? He wanted to see her, didn't he? Why was this meeting so uncomfortable feeling for him and, from her body language, for her? He thought he'd be more relieved and happy than this but it was being clouded and destroyed by the surprise of seeing her here and now. This wasn't how it was supposed to be!

Tasha glared a bit as she watched him. Something was off. She knew this man, intimately, and he knew her. He knew what she meant when she asked why he was there; it was her way of asking him "are you fucking stalking me?". She drummed her fingers against the side of her arm as she gave him a look he knew all too well, the one that let him know she knew something was up. He took a half step back and prepared to defend himself. There's no way she knew anything. She was about to say something when she heard someone sliding down the railing from the floor above and suddenly felt arms wrapped around her from behind.

"Top of the mornin' to ya Lass!" Murphy explained as he planted a big kiss on Tasha's cheek, right before she grabbed him arm and flipped him over her shoulder. Murphy landed sprawled out on the floor with Tasha straddling him and her finger poking the tip of his nose.

Before Lincoln could even decide on whether or not to admit the truth, their reunion had been interrupted by a very energetic and vocal man that... Did he just kiss her on the cheek?! Well of course she'd moved on, it was stupid of him to even think that she hadn't found someone else, someone better. It didn't stop his blood from boiling. Not necessarily from rage or jealousy, but just from the fact that this man had essentially attacked Tasha from behind. He shifted forward some, as if moving to step in and break things up. His messenger bag slipped from his shoulder as he started forth.

"How many damn times do I have to tell your Irish ass not to come up on me like that?!?" she growled, to which Murphy's only reply was a cheeky grin as he tried to bite her finger as she pulled it back. Murphy lay there grinning from ear to ear at Tasha as she got up and swiftly kicked him in the ribs. "Fucking potato eating bastard," she snapped before dusting off her knees.

Blinking as he stopped in his tracks, Lincoln wasn't sure what to make of the situation now. Apparently this man wasn't allowed to act that way so they must not be an item? Relief washed over Lincoln as he hiked his messenger bag strap back up onto his shoulder before clearing his throat some and speaking in a clear, confident voice.

"Hey. Name's Lincoln, nice to meet you." He held his hand out to Murphy, either for him to grab to pull himself up or just simply to shake it made no difference to Lincoln, he just wanted to be friendly. Murphy grinned over to the guy and took his hand, using it to pull himself up and jump in his place a few times.

"Oh yeah, you're the new comer. Saw yer name on the reservation list. Names Murphy, Tasha's punching bag," he said in his thick Irish accent before dodging a right hook from Tasha as she growled. Lincoln let out a bit of laughter and smiled some at the comedy of the situation but it was short lived. "Oi, you be feisty today Lass! What? Old Mountain Man not quench that Russian temper of yers last night?" Murphy teased. Tasha's eyes narrowed towards him as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"None of your fucking business what happened between Dominic and I last night," she hissed coldly but the redness in her cheeks gave away clearly that something had happened.

Feeling his heart dropping into the pit of his stomach, Lincoln almost forgot to breathe. Okay so she wasn't with this guy, Murphy, but she clearly was seeing someone. Someone named Dominic. Well... There it was. His face dropped slightly and he took a second to pull himself back to normality. He knew it had been a long shot but it was different to know that she was with someone else. He felt like it had been no time at all since they'd been together but obviously his mind was remembering incorrectly. His hands gripped the strap of his bag and he bent down slightly to grab his other case he'd set down earlier.

"Well I don't want to intrude on any personal discussions. I best get my room key and directions. Excuse me..." He was hesitant in leaving, he'd only just found her again, but his mind was telling him to get the hell out of dodge before it got even more awkward than it already was. He needed time to process the fact that he'd turned out to be living in the exact same place as his Tasha. Being around her was already making his head feel fuzzy and his heart pound quicker in his chest.

"Yeah, see ya Moya zhizn'," Tasha said without even thinking before she froze and went wide eyed over what had just left her lips. She hadn't spoken those words in Russian since before they had broken up; her pet name for him, my life.... Swallowing hard she turned her back to him and looked around a bit, which only caused Murphy to take note of how nervous Tasha had gotten in the blink of an eye.

He froze midstep and felt his body turning to lead as he heard her speak the name he hadn't heard in her voice in so long. His foot landed with a thud as he glanced over his shoulder and saw her turned away from him. Maybe he'd just imagined the words, that lingering hope that maybe she still felt something and her running away was nothing to do with him. Perhaps that was just wishful thinking on his part. He heard Murphy continuing to talk to Tasha and Lincoln licked his dried lips and lingered some, adjusting his grip on his baggage as an excuse to stop for a moment.

"So... how do ye know that one Lass?" he asked as he leaned in and grinned mischievously. Tasha groaned slightly, that wasn't exactly something she wanted to admit but Tasha wasn't one to lie about anything no matter how uncomfortable it made her. Biting her bottom lip she sighed, she might as well get it out now. She would have to tell Dominic anyways and he and Murphy were friends.

"He's my ex-fiance," she choked out in a whisper to Murphy.

Before Lincoln could react to Tasha's words, Cass came bounding down the stairs with Claire hot at her heels, laughter peeling out from the pair of them along with a few choice swear words. "I ain't apologisin' for shit!" Cass yelled out to Claire and she bounced from stair to stair, her foot steps thumping on the floorboards. Lincoln blinked and turned to see what was happening, his eyes catching sight of Tasha again and his mouth going drier than it already had.

"Bitch, get yer ass back here," Claire barked as she bounded after Cass and she caught her, but it wasn't because of her grace. The stair gave out underneath her as the railing fell off to the side. Claire fell forward, slamming into the Cass's Backside, which sent Cass spilling forward and slamming right into Murphy's chest as he turned around to see what was going on. Murphy's arms flailed out and knocked Tasha to the side, which sent the poor doctor tumbling right against Lincoln in the process.

"Bloody hell!" Claire yelled as she laid sprawled out on top of Cass and her brother. Murphy grunting a bit as he was buried beneath two women currently and gave a cheeky grin towards Cass. Cass was balling with laughter and saw Murphy's little grin and gave him a cute little wink as she wiggled her backside as she felt Claire laying on top of her back.

"If ye wanted to dance, could have just asked."

"I prefer wrestlin' if I'm bein' honest."

"Yeah, well if you two are going to wrestle, let me get out of it first," Claire muttered under her breath before rolling over onto her back and groaning slightly.

"Need help up, or just gonna lay on ol' Murphy for the rest of the day?" Murphy chuckled with a sly smile on his lips as he rested his head back against the floor and looked up at Cass.

"Ugh," Tasha said as she gripped onto Lincoln's shoulder as she reached down and gripped her thigh, the same one she had hurt the day before. The day just couldn't get any worse, or so she thought until Mr. Clops came barreling through the hallway and rammed her in the rear once again, sending her right back against Lincoln and yelping out in pain before the goat bounded off like nothing happened.

Lincoln was dumbfounded and looked around at the spectacle in front of himself as he caught Tasha, dropping his bag in the process, and held her upright. He saw her clutching her thigh and he frowned. "Do you want me to give you a hand? Maybe carry you to a chair or just let you lean on me? Normally I wouldn't ask and would just carry you, but considering our history I didn't want to be presumptuous. Can I even get someone to help you?" He wanted to help her out and wasn't planning on leaving her alone but he knew she'd thump him one if he just manhandled her. He knew better than that. He hoped she'd be receptive to the offer of help at least, he'd been polite enough after all.

Tasha let out a short breath and shook her head as she slowly righted herself, keeping her hand on his shoulder as she finally put some weight on her one leg. She cringed some but brushed off the pain. "No, I'm okay," she said quietly before looking up at him. God, why did he have to be here? Why now? Feeling his arm around her she froze for a moment before backing away and hobbling off down the hallway towards the dining room. The last thing she wanted right then was for Dominic to come down the stairs and see her in the arms of another man; especially considering that man was her ex-fiance.

Alcander Mires

Location: Back to the Hotel
Interacting with: The peeps

Alcander had just stepped into the hotel when the massive chain reaction of getting into one another's personal space occurred. He merely had on pants, with a shirt around his shoulders that he'd used as a makeshift towel. Left his shoes upstairs as well. His black hair was still lightly glistening from the pool.

He gave a quick shake of his head to get his hair out of his vision and watched, too far away to give any help but close enough to see every little emotion pass through their faces. Even Mr. Clops got in on the action, before bounding away. He sighed. Just another day at the luxurious Best Exotic Hotel.

There was a small twitch of curiosity that appeared on his face when he saw the newcomer offer to help Tash to her room. He couldn't help but give a slightly helpless smile. The 'history' part of his comment gave Alcander a lot of assumptions. He decided to help a bit as he walked by, giving the smallest whisper. "Being a bit too forward there, mate." he breathed with a knowing wink, making sure it wasn't mistaken for a mischievous one.

Stepping past him, he casually wound up standing next to his three drinking companions from last night. "Gang..." he said in greeting, then grinned as he reached two hands down, offering to help up both Claire and Cass. His next remark was half sarcastic. "Got any plans for the day, or are we all nursing hangovers?"

Honestly, he just wanted to help at the moment. But his question was just to give him a small connection to them, just in case. That was a good thing, he thought. Right? Perhaps it might be better if I just head up and read. 'Least that way I know I'll be content for the day.

Claire & Murphy

Location: Downstairs Hallway
Interacting With: @POOHEAD189
Time/Date: Morning/August 2nd,2016

Claire took Alc's hand and pulled herself to her feet before dusting herself off and smirking. Gonna take a lot more than that to get me to have a hangover. Should have seen what this guy and I did in Paris one night. I think I am still banned from the city," she laughed slightly as Murphy helped Cass up but didn't let her go.

Murphy looked over towards Lincoln and Tasha before she took off towards the dining hall and his eyes widened as what Tas had told him before Mr. Clops decided to stick his horns into everything finally registered. "Ex-Fiance?!!" he exclaimed looked at Lincoln before looking as Tasha moved around the corner and out of site. "Oh hell no, girl doesn't drop a bomb like that and run off," he said before darting off down the hallway after her.

Claire stood there looking confused as hell as his bother started talking about Ex-fiances and running off. Looking at Lincoln and then to Cass and then to Alc she just got more confused. "What in holy hell is he going on about? Who was that girl and who is that? I am so lost..." she said fanning herself a bit and grabbing the front of her shirt, fluffing in a bit to try to keep cooler in the summer heat of Jaipur.

Sighing she looked over towards Alc and gave him a thin lipped smile. "Think you could point me to somewhere we could grab breakfast and ice... Lots of ice?"

Location: Reception Lobby -> Downstairs Hallway
Interacting With: Desh, Claire @Lady Amalthea
Time/Date: Morning/August 2nd, 2016

The flight had been painfully long over to India, and completely without alcohol - but then perhaps that was the best, the past had established that closed spaces plus booze did not equal a fun time when it came to Joel. Well, at least not for the majority of people around him. It hadn't exactly been a while since Joel had left Germany, but it was the first time since his trip to Paris that he had been away on holiday, he was pleased for the break. Getting to the hotel was the interesting part, the second he was out of the airport he was swarmed by cab drivers, all wanting to take him where he needed to go. At least they were attentive.

Picking a lucky driver at random, Joel loaded his things into the cab and scratched at his beard as he climbed into the taxi. He was lucky enough to get some sleep on the plane, it was a skill he'd more or less perfected over the years, so he wouldn't be rushing to bed as soon as he got there. Not that he figured the tenants would let him, from what he'd been told, those who stayed at the Best Exotic were essentially starting to treat each other like family. He was half-concerned they'd smell the scent of fresh blood and be on him in a few moments.

When he arrived at the hotel, he paid the cab driver and gave him a reasonable tip, climbing out and grabbing his large, green duffel bag. Hauling it over his shoulder, he looked over the hotel with a semi-impressed smile, moving inside as he glanced about, setting his eyes on the man at the reception desk. "Guten Morgen!" He called out as he approached, before something dawned on him. "Uh, good morning, my apologies." He chuckled awkwardly as he made his way over to the desk, when he got there he noticed properly the ice on his head and the look on his face, chuckling.

"You look like you've met one of the McManus'" He commented with a smirk. He knew Claire's brother was at the hotel, he figured that may have been his doing - Joel was still oblivious that in fact Claire herself was there too. He went through the basic paperwork with Desh, paying for his room and getting his key, along with giving the poor man his best hangover cure - Eggs and banana, a weird one, but it got the job done.

Thanking Desh as he took his key and was directed to his room, he shifted his bag over his shoulder again and glanced about for the right hallway, moving toward it. He was almost pleased for the early flight in, it meant he could get settled and head right to breakfast, ideally. He wandered into the hallway, glancing down and seeing the other guests, they all looked to be crowded together, talking about something or other. He gave a smile down at them before looking to his door, moving to unlock it before he paused, doing a double take down the hall. He did recognize one of them. "Claire?"

Alcander Mires

Location: Back to the Hotel
Interacting with: Claire

Alcander's hair comically swayed a bit from the wind as Murphy sped by him. Well, there he goes again. He shook his head, and looked back to the two hot girl standing before him. Well, hot as in temperature, but the other meaning was fairly accurate as well. He guessed Cass felt like tagging a long and darted after Murphy. The new guy walked off too, and suddenly he was alone with Claire.

"Yeah, sure." he said lightly, giving her an inviting smile back. "Uh" were his next words when he realized once more that he had no shirt or shoes. "Give me one sec and we can go grab something real quick." he told her, and felt awkward as he head up the stairs to his room. He closed the door behind him, and the sun hit him once more from the lack of a window. He slipped on a plain blue T-shirt and decided to go with sandals today. It felt like a barefoot kind of day, but he guessed he needed something on his feet to go out.

Within less than two minutes, he headed down the stairs and nodded for her to follow. "C'mon, I know a good place." he told her, and lead her out of the Hotel and into the dusty streets of the city he'd grown to enjoy. "You ever heard of the Tapri? It's call the 'Tea House & Jizo.' It's got some good breakfast foods, ice, and a great view of the city."

Claire McManus

Location: Downstairs Hallway
Interacting With: @POOHEAD189 @Pundii
Time/Date: Morning/August 2nd, 2016

"Sounds good to me!" Claire exclaimed. She had been ready to grab breakfast in the hotel but hey if Alc knew something better, preferably with air conditioning even better. She looked down the hall as Cas and Murphy rounded it to go after Tasha and perked a brow. She thought she might want to go grab Cass but she decided against it. She knew her girl was in good hands with her brother and if he tried anything the Scot could easily knock him on his ass. Granted, knowing her brother he might like that.

Standing there she hadn't taken notice of the man that had walked by until he was down the hall and his back was to her. Must have been someone else that either lived there or was checking in. Either way, she didn't know them so it didn't matter. Biting at her thumb nail she looked up at the ceiling wondering if it was going to fall in on her when she heard her name called by a very familiar voice. Turning her head to the side she looked over in the direction where it came from and her hand dropped from her mouth as she stood there wide eyed and slack jawed for a split second.

"Joel!!!!" she yelled out as she tore down the hall and jumped, her legs wrapping around his waist as her arms wrapped over his shoulders; giving him a very enthusiastic hug as she slapped him on the back happily, probably a little over zealous and hard but hey that was Claire. Something he would be very used to after the last couple of years. The woman was a walking stick of dynamite. Giggling she hopped down and pushed her hair back and out of her face.

"Oh my god, what are you going here? I thought you were still in Germany! Why didn't you e-mail me and tell me you were taking a vacation?!?" she rambled off question after question as she stood there placing her hands on her hips. Turning as she heard Alc come back her head pivoted between the two quickly like a cartoon character before her hand reached out and wrapped around Joel's wrist.

"Come on, come on! Drop yer bags in yer room and let's go! Come on!" she insisted, pulling on him like a kid until he did and then heading out the door with Alc and Joel in tow whether he liked it or not; grinning from ear to ear as she did. "Alc! Fucking christ, wait up!" she called out and fanned herself with her free hand. "Okay, okay. Joel, this be Alc. He staying here to. Alc, this be Joel, me partner in crime, drinking buddy, and tour guide," she laughed giving Joel a bit of a wink.

Joel chuckled as he saw Claire's initial reaction to seeing him, and he held out his arms as she ran down the hall toward him, leaning into the incoming hug as he wrapped his arms around her, still staggering back a step or two as he laughed, giving her a squeeze as he hugged her. He had more or less expected such a reaction, she was always such an excitable woman and the two were always pleased to see one another, it just usually meant more horrible antics to come. They'd almost destroyed Paris last time, he could only imagine what was to come next.

He set her down gently with a smile and pulled his arms away, shifting them down to pick up his bags again as he kicked his door open gently. "I just got some time off last week, I remembered you telling me your brother was loving it here so I figured i'd try it out, I didn't know you were here too!" He grinned, glancing past her momentarily to the other man she had been with before sprinting off to greet him, giving Alc a nod with a smile before he turned back to Claire, feeling her hand wrap around his wrist.

"Alright, alright, i'm coming." He laughed, tossing his bags into the room and closing the door behind him, not even having the time to move in and look around a bit as he was dragged down the hall, laughing as Claire brought him along to her friend. As she introduced the two, he smiled toward Alc, giving him a nod and a firm handshake, glancing back over to Claire and returning her wink as she spoke. "A pleasure, Alc." He gave the man another nod, bringing his hand up to scratch at his chin. "So, breakfast?"

Amber May

Location: Airport-Streets-Check-in
Interacting with: @Lady Amalthea
Time/date: Late Morning, 2nd August 2016.

Amber rolled her shoulders and stretched her neck as she awaited standed in the long customs line. The 10 hour flight from Scotland to India seemed to be take its toll on her cramped body as the long line seemed to shuffle forward slower than a snail. Of course, coming through customs did nothing but proved her innocent of illicit items and Amber was glad to erupt into the sunlight of the Indian town. The sweet smell of spices alongside the scent of pollution seemed to float in the air, tickling her nose. Much different from the air of Scotland. Almost instantly after she left the airport's premises she was flanked by taxi drivers left, right and centre. She turned each down with a sweet smile as she made her way to the bus stop and took a bus into Jaiper before opting to walk, a large backpack on her back and a suitcase at her trail. None seemed enough to hold one's life possessions. Amber left most of her stuff in storage or gave it away, choosing to just invest in things she needed such as clothes if she felt she needed to. That was when it came into her sights; The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

Of course, in her disorganized and spontaneous ways, she hadn't booked a room but planned to just walk into the reception and hope they had room for her. She walked into the hotel's premises to be greeted by a large courtyard, it was obviously rather old and not in top condition but breathtaking to the young woman all the same. It wasn't long before she spotted the reception and walked in its direction. Unfortunately she wasn't walking lined up to successfully walk into the reception and a small part of the left side of her body ran into the wall separating the reception from the outside.

"Ow," she mutters to herself more out of reflex than actually pain, sidestepping to this time avoid the door and walked toward the man and the reception desk. "Hello!" she greets him cheerily, much more than you'd expect one who just ran into a wall to

Desh had barely looked up from his place at the reception desk as he heard the newest arrival, well arrive. His hang over was beating his brains in right then and he wondered how in the world Murphy and his sister were able to drink the way they did. The man that had been there tried to help but Desh couldn't even manage to ring the kitchen to get the supposed hangover cure delivered to him.

Looking up he swallowed the lump of whatever was threatening to come up back down and forced a smile. As he spoke he sounded like a dog trying not to dry heave. "Welcome... to my most... ugh. Screw it. Welcome to my hotel," he managed to get out before having to swallow back the threatening tide of alabaster chum as he shoved over the registration book to her and handing her a pen.

Amber's brow furrowed slightly, not the welcome she was expecting yet she was rather glad he didn't bring up the recent wall incident, not that such a feat was embarrassing anymore. After being as clumsy as she was for so long her clumsiness using failed to embarrass her. She lightly tugged the pen out of the man's hand asking, "Are ye alrigh'?" She drawls in her usual scottish accent, not taking to much notice to how bad her words were becoming already, "Ye don' look t' well,"

Desh looked up slowly and swallowed once again, nodding slightly before shaking his head. "Just the most violent hang over in the history of India," he said still trying to choke down the bile. Resting his cheek in the palm of his hand he looked like he was either going to pass out at any moment or hurl, his stomach and head hadn't decided yet.

"Must 'ave had a big night last night, Aye?" she asks, signing and filling in the relevant forms in front of her. Amber knew that feeling, she didn't drink often but when she did she drunk heavily, hence why she doesn't often. She remained silent for a short amount of time before handing Desh the pen and sliding the papers over to him. "Well about 'alf an hour in India an' I can already claim t' see the guy with the worst hango'er, what a day, Aye? You should probably spend the res' o' your day in bed, that's wha' I do,"

"Never try to out drink one bred for drinking. And especially, have the senses of the four legged beasts of burden to not try to out do a pair of them. That is the last time I try to out imbibe Irish Siblings," he said before darting off with a waste basket in hand and ducking behind the back wall. The sound of dry heaving could be heard clearly, like a dog gagging on a bone. After a minute he came back out, the trash can left behind the wall as he stumbled to his seat and hiccuped as he looked over the papers. Reaching back he grabbed a key and slid it over to her. He was trying to hand it but he failed. "Second floor, third door on the right," he managed to get out before he passed out on the front desk counter and started drooling.

Amber couldn’t help but chuckle slightly at the Indian’s lame attempt to pass the key. She was just about to lift them from his spot off the table when Desh passed out. The young woman watched the man carefully as drool trailed from his mouth, she lightly prods him in the head with her forefinger to no avail and gives a sigh. Better leave him be. She lifts the keys from the counter and raises them slightly. ”Well, thanks,” she says to the passed out man awkwardly.

Amber wheels her suitcase to the stairs, looking up at the descend ahead of her. It already looked less-than-safe, oh well, it will suffice. She was liking the laid-back atmosphere that already lingered in the air. She lifts the case and starts to slowly carry it up the steps. About halfway up she pushes her foot down to hit the step to do not that but stumble with a yelp. She stops abruptly and lifts her foot from the nothingness that replaced the steps. ”Missing steps,” she muses to herself before adding a sarcastic ”Beautiful”

Somehow Amber was able to make her way to the top. Unfortunately her luck didn’t last and she tripped on a piece of railing blocking the top step and fell onto the level

Alcander's mouth opened to speak, but then he closed it and just nodded with a smile. He had been kinda looking forward to talking to someone alone for once, so he was a tad bit disappointed. But at the same time, he was glad Claire had met someone else that made this place feel more like home for her. A lot of people often needed that, he knew.

He decided to head out in front, but was only looking to and fro on the street as the two others caught up to him. He chuckled. "Don't worry, I wasn't going to go on with you." he replied, then shook Joel's hand. "Pleasure's all mine." he assured him. It was cool to meet him, he admitted. From a glance, Joel looked like he had a good head on his shoulders. "Yep, just follow me."

He led them downtown to Prithviraj Road, heading uphill past a busy section of traffic (then again, where in this city was it not busy?) and into the Tapri - The Tea House. It was a lovely little spot that overlooked the city, the tea was to die for, but there was plenty of ice, as well as coffee and good breakfast sandwiches. "You're welcome." he said with a wink at them.

"Well I am glad you did!" Claire was excited as ever to have Joel around, things were never dull and they always managed to have a good time together; whether that was drinking, causing a ruckus, or just hanging out. It was always fun. Looking over at Alc she grinned and nodded. "Sweet, well lead the way," she teased with a bit of a hip check before following him out of the hotel with one of them at each of her side. Claire had a goofy little grin playing on her lips despite how hot it was. What she thought was going to turn out to be a day of nothing but her and Cass bitching about the heat to Murphy and Desh was already starting out to be one heck of a thing.

Water worked this morning, so the shower was nice. Granted the toppled wasn't fun but hey Joel was there and Claire gasped out as they walked into the Tea Shop and felt the AC. Looking over towards Alc she gave an approving nod and wrapped an arm over his shoulder, giving him a bit of a squeeze. "Fuck yeah, thank you man," she exclaimed gleefully. Looking around she found an open table for them near the window so they could over look the city.

Plopping down by the window she looked out and took note of everything that was going on. "Ya know, when I ain't about to faint from the heat this place is really nice," she commented about the city before looking back over to the guys. "Okay, you," she said pointing to Alc. "I done know probably more than me should about this one but don't know much about ya. So tell me something about you?" she added as she leaning back in her seat.

Waiting for the waitress to come over to them and take their order. She hoped someone here spoke English otherwise their food orders could turn out to be rather interesting leaving it to the staff. Maybe she should have grabbed Cass and Murphy to join them but Murphy seemed really bent on finding out what he could about the woman who mentioned something about a fiance. She didn't know what was going on but figured he would fill her in later.

Murphy looked around the dining, with Cass in tow, trying to find Tasha. She had just one hell of a bomb into his lap and he wanted to see what was going on with her. Especially after what he was thinking that happened with Dominic the night before. "Where in the bloody hell is that woman," he asked to himself and Cass as he looked about. It wasn't like the dining room was so large it wouldn't have been easy to spot her.

Tasha sighed as she poured herself a bowl of cereal in the kitchen before grabbing a spoon. She couldn't believe that Lincoln was there. Seeing him after all this time was not settling right with her. It wasn't that she wasn't glad to see him and that was the part that wasn't settling right. She had tried for a long time to put that part of her life behind her. She had dated one other man for a little bit after him but that hadn't worked and had left her rather broken. It was one of the reasons she had come to Jaipur in the first place, a fresh start of thing.

It seemed to be going great, especially after last night with Dominic. Then suddenly he pops up out of nowhere and she is standing there feeling old feelings and a bundle of nerves on top of it because of the feelings she was starting to have for Dominic. Granted they both had both been rather drunk the night before so she wasn't even sure where they stood, they weren't dating but they could be if things kept progressing couldn't they? Sighing she stepped out of the kitchen and walked to the nearest table before she sat down.

Murphy motioned over towards Tasha before taking Cass's hand and walking over there, plopping himself down across from her and giving her a look as he rose the brow over his left eye. "Spill it Lass."

"You want to be wearing this bowl of cereal as well?" Tasha said in a warning voice.

"Don't be trying that again Tasha, we're friends and I know something is up. Come on, let it out before it eats you up."

Giving Alc a grin as he began to lead them out of the hotel and back down the road, Joel took a good look around. He hadn't really appreciated any of the scenery on his ride over from the airport, he hadn't even had time to appreciate his hotel room before Claire had dragged him right back out for breakfast. Joel had grown used to hot weather like this, but that didn't at all mean he enjoyed it, before long he had worked up a sweat, and as they got inside the Tea shop, he was almost overwhelmed at the feeling of the AC.

Following Claire and Alc over to a table, Joel plopped down in a seat and let out a comfortable sigh as he did so. He took a moment to glance around the shop, it was a nice spot, comfortable, considering the AC seemed to work well, and it generally had something of a welcoming vibe about it. He turned his gaze to look outside, lips spreading into a smile as he took in the view, he had to agree with Claire, it was very nice, when you got through the intense heat.

As he glanced over to the staff in the shop, it had only just occurred to him how the language gap might end up affecting them. Joel had, as he now realised was probably a bad idea, not made any real attempt to learn any of the language before he came to India, he hadn't honestly expected to spend much time outside the hotel. He glanced back toward the two, mostly remaining quiet as Claire insisted on learning some more about Alc, but speaking up with what he figured was at least a reasonably important query. "One of you can speak Hindi, right?"

Alcander plopped down on a chair, running a hand through his dark hair and giving a grin to himself. Usually he was at the back end of any group or conversation, but here he seemed to be the guide. Hell it was like that last night too. Desh was too drunk to take the initiative and he drove them all home. For some reason he went from someone who had been ignored 2 days ago to someone who was the go-to guy to all the new people, including a couple of attractive girls. Weird.

As he began reclining, he looked around for a waitress or waiter to hail, before he heard Claire ask him a question on himself. He couldn't tell if this was an opportunity to let loose or just to answer dismissively like most introverts do. His mouth was open when Joel gave a prudent question of his own. "I...am learning." he admitted. "I know a few little things, but english isn't the rarest thing around here. I'm sure it won't be too much of a problem."

He let out a chuckle, and then shifted his body to face Claire more. "Um, honestly I'm boring as hell." he said. Well, he didn't think so. But most people thought so. "I read a ton and I know some fencing. I guess it took me to Athens for a year, which was cool. But honestly I'm just here so I can take a long vacation before I actually start working for the rest of my life, you know?"

Somehow, luckily, the young Scot managed to come out of her latest incident unscathed, well this ‘unscathed’ thing seemed to overlook the on the right side of the bottom of her chin. Amber gave a sigh as she inspected it in the grubby ageing mirror that was supplied in the bathroom. At this stage in her life she was used to bumps and bruises anyway and even getting away from American life didn’t end it. She then proceeded to wash her hands. With the interesting sounds the tap made Amber was surprised there was running water at all. This hotel was a just a huge trip hazard, probably not a suitable nature for clumsy girl.

After a long flight Amber wasn't in the mood for leaving her bed even, however, she wasn't quite content with sleeping at the early hour so she decided to wander the hotel. Having a tour now would benefit her later anywhy, right? It wasn't long, however, before she found the dining room. Good, food and rest were two of her top priorites at this point. She strolled in naturally, however, when one is greet hearing someone threatened to tip cereal onto another-not the best of entrances. Her eyes flew to the pair "I take it this us bad timing," she says before following it with a mumbled "Sorry,"

After getting up and dusted off after the fall of the Great Staircase of Jaipur, Cass chuckled as she looked around the ragtag group that was gathered in the main hallway. Seemed like they might all be spending time together until Murphy sped off after the brunette that got knocked on her arse by the goat and into the arms of a new arrival to the hotel shouting something at her about ex-fiance and sounding worried. Raising a brow, Cass looked between Alcander and Claire as he helped her up and she smirked a little.

Not wanting to be a bother, Cass slipped off and darted after Murphy who had darted off after Tasha. Better to leave Claire and Alcander alone to "get to know one another". She quickly caught up with Murphy and gave him a grin as they made their way into the dining hall to look for his friend Tasha. She shrugged her shoulders in response to Murphy as she realised they'd lost sight of Tasha. She glanced around the room and wandered around some to see if she was hiding off somewhere before moving back towards Murphy.

Just about to ask if he wanted to look elsewhere, Murphy spotted Tasha and took Cass by the hand. She quite liked the forwardness of Murphy and it put a smirk on her face again. She sat herself down beside Murphy and across from Tasha. She gave her a friendly smile but opted to keep quiet for now, at least while the initial question was asked. A small snort of laughter escaped her when she heard Tasha's threat but she soon kept quiet when Murphy remained serious. Looking between the two friends, Cass in her ever sensitive manner looked at the bowl of cereal and then at Murphy before squinting her eyes and tilting her head to the side.

"Y'know, I hear cereal is fab for exfoliatin' 'eh skin and milk is a lovely moisturiser. Maybe ye could do wae some?" She let out a light laugh, hoping that her stupid quip lightened the mood some before she heard a very familiar sounding accent but unfamiliar voice. She snapped her neck around so fast and so hard that she thought she had snapped something.

"Holy FUCK tha' hurt!" She winced and rubbed her neck before spotting a petite girl from where the familiarity had come.

"Eh please excuse me, I don't wanna get in 'eh middle o' yer friend related chat so I'm jus' gonna keep this lovely lass company until yer both done with yer important conversation. Nice t'meet ye by the by, we'll talk proper when yer feeling less annoyed by the presence o' Murphy." She gave a light smile to Tasha and grinned at Murphy before practically bolting towards the girl standing at the entrance of the dining hall.

Cass was practically bouncing on the spot as she held her hand out to her prospective new friend with a giant grin on her face. "Heya! Name's Cass, nice t'meet ye! Did ye jus' get 'ere? Love yer accent. C'mon, might be best we leave these two pals t'chat." She nudged her head backwards towards Murphy and Tasha as she waited for her new buddy to respond. She realised she was a little hyperactive and tried to calm herself but could barely contain herself.

Claire looked over to Joel and chuckled before elbowing him in the ribs. "Man you know I don't fucking speak the tongue. If I did I would be rambling it off already. Like my big mouth can stay shut," she teased as she looked around and waved her arm in the air to get a waitresses attention. Once she was sure the woman had at least seen her she turned her attention back to the men with her. Perking a brow slightly when Alc mentioned that he fenced. That wasn't something she was expecting.

"Fencing? Now, do ya be doing it with all that padding and those mesh masks that look like a bee keeper on steroids like ya see late at night during the Olympics? Or we talking duels for honor out in a morning fog in France?" she asked, a bit excited to talk about a sport that was a fight of sorts and a little bit teasing with the mention of duels. She was waiting for an answer as the waitress came up but her phone went off and she pulled it out rather annoyed to be interrupted but suddenly stood up.

"Shit, be me manager. Joel, order fer me will ya? Ya know what I'll eat," she said as she stepped away from the table to take the call. Sure Joel would know what Claire ate, she ate pretty much anything that got put in front of. She wasn't picky and willing to try anything. Their time in Paris had proven that. She had tried everything from street fair to snails and then playing with the shells.

Tasha glanced over towards the new comer and Murphy chuckled at Cass's reaction, reaching over and rubbing the back of her neck gently a bit. "Damn girl, you're more of a danger to yourself than Mr. Clops is to Tasha," he laughed and then froze as he felt the cold chill of milk hit his head and roll down his face as he was once again assaulted by Tasha's breakfast. He looked over to with his mouth agape with the bowl still sitting on his head.

"It's a good look for you. Corn Flakes A La Irish," she sneered as she leaned back in her seat and crossed her arms over her chest.

Reaching up he took the bowl off his head and chuckled, leaning forward and looking as if he was preparing to pull a wet dog and shake himself off all over the girls. Tasha kicked back on the floor and sent her chair sliding back a good few feet. She wasn't going through that again.

Murphy looked over towards Cass as she stood up, cereal stuck to his cheeks and the top of his head. "Don't ya be going too far Lass, wants to be taking some folks out on the town later," he said with a smile and a wink towards her. Tuesdays were usually the days that he took visitors out to soak up some of the sites during his lessons. Might as well see if the new people wanted to tag along. Was better than sitting around the hotel waiting for it to cave in on them.

"Kinda both," he replied, giving her a smirk and a casual shrug. He meant it as, he did the former so he could do the latter if need be. She suddenly had to take a phone call however, and he nodded as she stepped up. Well, here's hoping the waitress here speaks a bit of english as well as Hindi. He was getting better with his lingo, but he wasn't entirely sure how to say "breakfast sandwich" which was what he had in mind to eat this fine day.

She was a cute, young girl. Her caramel skin accentuated her bright eyes, and she nodded enthusiastically. "Yes?" she asked in english, heavily accented. Oh thank god. "Hello, yes. I was wondering if I could get the breakfast sandwich." he said. She shook her head, though he could tell it was because she couldn't follow all of that. He gave her a Hindi greeting, which he imagined sounded just as odd to her as her yes did to him. "Breakfast Sandwich?" he said, pointing to the picture on the menu. "Oh, yes yes." she said, nodding now and smiling.

Joel gave Alcander a nod, he was pleased to hear that even with his lack of knowledge in the local language, he would likely still be able to get around just fine. His eyes drifted over toward Claire just in time to get an elbow to the ribs, letting out a laugh as she made her point. "Fair point, if you could've spoken it, you'd have probably been kicked out before I even got here." He elbowed her back with a sly grin, glancing over to the waitress as Claire attempted to get her attention.

His gaze turned back toward Alcander then, a smile on his face as he listened to the man speak of himself. Joel let out a rather amused scoff at Claire's commentary afterward, a smirk on his face. Joel knew very well Claire enjoyed anything which was even slightly related to a fight, it was one of the reasons she insisted on stories from his own line of work, right down to the regular punch-ups in the barracks or on the field.

Watching as Claire stepped away, Joel gave her a nod to signal he indeed knew what she would eat, which was technically anything. However, as the waitress took Alcander's order, he continued to look through the menu. Breakfast in India was rather different to how he'd figured it would be, which was exactly how it was everywhere else. A smirk split his lips as he looked over the menu, finding something which looked appropriately filled with an obscene amount of spice, holding it up to the waitress and tapping the picture. "Two of these." He said, holding up a pair of fingers to accentuate his point. Joel loved spiced food, and well, whether or not she wanted it - Claire was getting it too.

"Don't ya be shittin' me! Seriously?!?! Fuck yeah! Right!, Okay, thanks bye!" Claire hung up the phone call and stood there for a minute before dancing around in place and squealing in delight. Several of the patrons turning around and looking at the crazed Irish woman confused as she shoved her phone back into her pocket and dashed towards the table. Coming up behind Joel she flung her arms around him and hugged him tight, giggling like the deranged before she flopped down in her seat.

"Ey's a got me a fight!" she exclaimed, giddy as all get out. The smile on her face bright and reaching ear to ear as she did the cabbage patch in her seat. Claire always got like this when she found out about a bout her manager was able to set up for her. Granted, she was supposed to be in India to relax and spend time with her brother and her bestie but hey, a few hours of scraping in a ring wouldn't take away from all that in her mind. She knew Murphy would like to see her fight and Cass had been to plenty of them with her. They usually went out partying afterwards. It was always a lot of good fun in her mind, no matter how bashed up she was in the end.

"Week from today at the Shri Ram Martial Arts School Of India! Gots me a little rumble!" She couldn't help but laugh as their food was brought over, the waitress wondering if she had lost her mind. She had in a way but she didn't care. Picking up her fork she didn't even bother to look at her plate as she shoveled in a mouthful and began to chew. Then suddenly she stopped, her eyes widening as she grabbed her glass of water and started gulping it as she broke out in a sweat. Swallowing hard she gasped for breath.

"Sweet Fucking Mary and Joseph!!!" she coughed out.

Tasha leaned back in her seat and just smirked at Murphy as he sat there pulling bits of cereal off his cheeks. Grabbing a napkin he wiped the majority of it away but it was obvious whatever she did it was not going to deter him from finding out exactly what was going on. This was not exactly something the young doctor wanted to get into with him or anyone for that matter but Murphy had seemed to take it on himself to be her personal project to get her to open up more and more. Pulling his chair closer to the table and leaning in he tossed the milk and cereal soaked tissue in the bowl and cocked a brow in her direction.

"Come on, spill it lass," he said waving his hand front of him a bit and circling it around. Tasha shook her head and looked away from him but it didn't stop him. He wasn't letting her get out of this one. Sliding his chair over to her he got in her face. "Tasha..."

"What?" Turning her head she looked away but Murphy wasn't having any of that. Reaching up he placed his finger to the side of her chin and turned her head back towards him.

"Tasha."

"Murphy?" she questioned flatly as she knocked his hand away and went to stand up but Murphy got a bit more handsy than he had in the past with her and curled his fingers over her shoulder, shoving her back down in her seat. "Ugh, ass," she spat as she pulled his grip off of her and flung his hand away. Every time she tried to get up or turned her head away from him he did the same. Either she was going to knock him out or spill it in rage. Either way, he figured it was better than the cold silence and it eating away at her from the inside.

It took a bit of time and a lot of stubborn Irish prodding but Tasha eventually agreed to talk. Sighing she leaned forward in her chair and let it out. "I met Lincoln when I was an intern..."

The story was not something that Murphy had been expecting from Dr. Glacier. Even though he knew she was caring underneath the cold exterior the way she spoke about the new arrival surprised him. She was warm when talking about him, about how he had made her smile and made her stop thinking about the worry of work and school, actually getting her to relax during her down time. That was until he proposed. She was wrapped up in the moment and had said yes but afterwards she started having her doubts. A lot of doubts. Eventually she had broken it off and after that refused to speak with him. It was too hard. Thinking back on it and speaking about it caused her eyes to well up and she shook her head, trying to push it back down.

"But that was then. This is now."

"Riiigggghhhttt...... So what's he doing here?" Murphy asked as he handed her a clean napkin, Tasha took it and dabbed the moistness from the corner of her eyes, shrugging some.

"Doesn't matter," Tasha mumbled under her breath. What did it matter? It seemed that her and Dominic were starting something and the last thing she needed was to get caught up in the past. Shaking her head she got up, Murphy not doing anything to stop her this time, and walked off. Stepping out into the hallway and towards the front desk.
