Bio

Hiya, AChronum here! Although I'm relatively new to rping, I have plenty of writing experience and love trying new genres and styles. I absolutely love high magic fantasy RPs and am pretty much willing to do anything so long as I can create a charaxter, not play an existing one, and develop lots and lots of backstory! I'm perfectly comfortable with all mature themes as well, although smut for smut's sake is out of the question.

Interested in an RP? Send me a PM and have a magically marvelous day!

The words wrote themselves across the originally blank piece of paper in golden flowing script. The page arrived mere moments before in a white envelope you didn't remember anyone delivering. How it managed to get to you was a mystery.

You had never heard of Acadia. Internet searches brought up nothing but conspiracy theories. Missing people, aliens, demons, magic, cults - no one agreed on anything. Magic recently resurfaced, bringing along a surge in humans with innate gifts, either through circumstance or genetics, and those labeled inhumans, beings of other dimensions. They always existed but the return of the ley lines twenty years ago triggered a domino effect and rapidly grew the population. Normal humans still composed 80 percent of the population.

Inside the white envelope lay a long, thin key. As you picked it up, you notice a phrase carved into the shaft. Although you didn't reconize the langauge, you knew that this fit any lock and would lead you, if you wished, to a whole new destiny.

Acadia floats on a large isle in the middle of a crystal blue sky. It contains portals that allows free movement between its annexes which house training rooms, library, study halls, and dorms. Each student is assigned a dorm based on their year and gender and is given a personal room with a bed, desk, and closet. Bathrooms and dining rooms are communal within the dorms.

There are seven years in total at Acadia. These yeas are only meant to track your time at the academy and give students a peer group early on. Actual achievement is based on an individual level and several people in a class may advance to higher level classes quicker than others. Beginning at year 4, students are expected to assist instructors in allowing students into the dimensions for practical study.

Currently, 87 prospective models of Dimensional alignment have been submitted by those who study it. The only constant however is the Prime Plane, in which Earth is situated. It always maintains the same distance from each other dimension in every model, for one reason or another. As such, this discussion uses it as the reference point of each other plane.

What is a dimension? Simply put, each dimension is its own reality and is completely seperated from each of the others minus a few natural link points. Each one contains it's own universe and thus it's own laws of reality. Let's take gravity for example. In the Prime Dimension, gravity is oriented towards large centers of mass such as planets and stars. Only through magic can this effect be altered. However in the Etherial Dimension, gravity is subjective. One individual's down can be another's up and an object will stay unmoving unless moved by an individual.

These dimensions are group into general types: The Prime Dimension , The Transitional Dimensions which wrap around the Prime one, The Inner Dimensions that circle The Prime one closely, and The Outer Dimensons that never interact directly with the Prime Dimension. Demi-dimensions can exist but are formed as a product of magic for that specific purpose rather than existing on their own. Most demi-dimensions collapse once their creator dies.

List of known dimensions:
Transitional: Feywilds, Dark Dimension, Etherial Dimension
Inner: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Life, Death
Outer: Celesti, The Abyss, Pandemonium, Ysgard

Magic in this world can be generalize in three ways: Innate, Environmental, and Dimensional. These refer specifically to the power sources that drive each category.

Those with innate magic manifest powers without the use of glyphs, signals, or incantations. Examples of innate magic are Telekentics, Shapeshifters, Bioelectrics, and Speedsters. Some only manifest one strong power such as telekinesis or atmokinesis while others display smultiple smaller powers that work together like enhanced strength and rapid healing. The fall back is these individuals cannot learn magic through other means. Incantations and seals fail to trigger the change that is expected through spells.

Environmental magic user wield magic found directly around them. Using magic glyphs and seal matched with incantations, they shape their desires into reality. Environmental magic is cast when a user channels environmental forces into a glyph or seal in their mind while speaking the appropriate incantation. The glyph or seal appears as a magic circle as the effect take place. There is very little magic can't accomplish but this form of magic is limited to the resources around it. Using this technique, one could reverse gravity of the Prime Plane but not in the Etherial Dimension because gravity doesn't actually exist there.

Dimensional Magic is the most powerful form of magic. This technique draws on the energy generated as two dimensions interact with each other. The volatile nature of these energies makes wielding this power dangerous and difficult. Spells of this degree break the rules of any given dimension and often the governing principles of reality as a whole. Users can manipulate time, create demi-dimensions, and gain immortality. Most forbidden magics are part of this type.

Restricted: Summoning

Forbidden Magics: Blood Magic, Time Magic, Necromancy.
@Jones Sparrow I'm down for it! Sounds fun
@Rune_Alchemist okie dokie. I'll have the ooc up tomorrow afternoon at the latest!
@Rune_Alchemist Angels, Demons, Human, Fey creatures. I'll have a larger list of races that would make sense once I put up everything in the ooc for you though.

@Fourze about age 13 and up age wise.
@sharksama Absolutely! The Second paragraph in the post mentions half demons and fey but all sorts wander.

Set in modern times mixed with a resurgence of magic, this RP would place at Academy Acadia, a school existing in its own pocket space with anchors in the real world. Academy Acadia is its own entity, sending out invitations to those it feels can handle the responsibility of defending the world from the threats that are arising. Each class consists of about 100 people out of the 500 that were invited to join. There are plenty of normal humans around, no powers but a set of skills that puts them above the rest, but half demons, fey, and wizards sit in classes as well.

Anyone interested in trying it? Although mostly students, we could also have an instructor or two as players if someone wanted!
I think we are waiting on @Jones Sparrow for a response before the rest of us can post. Their page does mention travelling so it might just be a tick ^.^ Worst comes to worst, we ca always have IC conversations :P
Nao groaned inwardly as they walked through the Hall of Heros. He actively avoided this building after his orientation tour. It was a place for legends, those who strode toward the light relentlessly. Nao wasn't like that. He was brought up by the very darkness they swore to fight. He was tainted by it. He felt small in the presence of these legends. During his first year, he nearly left the academy. Between the bullying and ostrigization from the other magical students and the relentless march of remedial classes, Nao felt out of place. He'd missed years of academic and cultural advancement. He discovered music when he was 13. It took him months to acclimate to the idea of cars and even now he couldn't use a computer effectively. He wielded some of the darkest magics in the book and years of training made it almost impossible for his stoic facade to drop. The Hall of Heros served as a reminder of what he wasn't.

Two females wandered into the group as the approached the center. His nose twitched as he instinctively felt for their blood. Anyone who regularly practice blood magic developed a sixth sense for blood quality and types since spells were specific and often times you didn't have time to ask questions while stripping the liquid out of another's body. The girl with green skin and tipped ears was obviously inhuman. He didn't need magical senses to tell that. He frowned. The other didn't have a scent to her. Interesting. He shook his head slightly. No, bad Nao. That was an invasion of privacy on the highest level.

"Everyone enjoy the little breakfast and show this morning? What in blazes happened down there?" The voice snapped Nao out of his contemplations. Mr. Scott Lang addressed the group. Nao had a hard time getting a feel for the situtation; the man's face betrayed nothing. The young boy stepped forward to explain, followed by Charlotte. They seemed to have covered the basics of the situation, no need for him to get involved. He glanced at his watch and blanched. He'd never skipped class before. A yawn rose unbidden but he managed to stifle it. A sharp pick on his hand reminded him of something. He was still bleeding. He quickly ruffled through his bag, careful not to drip blood inside, and pulled out small band aids. He tipped off each finger.
After dropping his spell, Nao's eyes slowly faded back to brown. Damn. He hadn't meant to get involved. Maybe it was just an advanced training excersize. Nao hadn't heard anything about one like this but he hardly noticed everything. Maybe he just ruined it. He was going to be in trouble for interfering. He glanced down at his spilt food and hastily started scooping it back onto the plate. His hands shook slightly and he slowed his breathing. Deep breath in, slow exhale, deep breath in, slow exhale. This was the basic breathing technique they taught him during his first year. It helped, to an extent. He finished cleaning up and dumped the food in the trash. He slunk back against the cafeteria wall, fingers moving while muttering. Starting at his feet, he slowly faded away.

Until he staggered, leaning heavily against the wall. The spell vanished. That's right. He hadn't slept. No way he was going to sneak out the entrance now. He took a deep breath and exited the building. Ahead, James, the one he presumed to be called Mark, another in a black spiderman suit, and the girl who had been clinging to the rocket stood seemingly discussing the scattered rocket parts. He gulped and practically tiptoed over, his 5' 11" frame seeming to shrink as he approached. He cleared his throat hesitantly and bowed deeply once he had the small group's attention attention.

"I am so sorry for interrupting your training." Nao spoke softly, keeping his eyes locked on the ground, "My temper gets the best of me sometimes." He felt his fingertips still dripping but firmly decided to deal with that once he had explained himself. The wounds were small and would probably heal on their own quickly anyways.
