Telekinetic Abilities

• Telekinetic Push/Pull: Ivory can pull and repel objects or persons away from herself through psychokinesis.
• Telekinetic Binding: Ivory can hold a person or an object in place and prevent the person or the object from moving. She rarely uses this on humans though.
• Telekinetic Healing: Typically a technique used by telekinetics who are far more experienced than Ivory, but her ability to use this technique points to her untapped and undiscovered potential as a mutant.
• Telekinetic Disassociation: She can tear apart inanimate objects when enraged and completely obliterate them down to the last molecule.
• Telekinetic Crushing: She uses her psychokinesis to flatten enemies; if ever in danger, she may use this against an organic lifeform.
• Telekinetic Destruction: She can cause objects to explode.
• Kinetic Re-Direction: She can use her telekinesis to redirect the path of projectiles, she cannot do so with close ranged attacks.

Energy Abilities

• Energy Absorption: She can absorb and store energy within herself.
• Energy Expulsion: She can then expel that energy outward again.

Telepathic Abilities

• Mind Reading: This is an ability that she has little control over, and it often activates itself; she does not know how to sustain it for longer than a few dozen seconds, and at times she picks up on the fragmented thoughts of more than one person.
• Telepathic Inundation: She can shut off the mind of animate lifeforms (animals) and certain functions of the human mind as well, though she has no control over what part of the mind she shuts off.
• Telepathic Communication: Unless one has their mind shielded from psychic intrusion, Ivory can communicate with a person directly from her mind to theirs. She does not have the ability to destroy other's psychic shields.
• Illusions: She can generate mild illusions to one's eyes. Anyone with strong enough sensory perception can differentiate between reality and the illusions.

Volatile and easily frightened. Trusting of others to a fault. Quick to express her thoughts/feelings without thinking them through. No true mastery of her abilities.

She hails from Philidelphia, PA, and recently made her way to NY for a summer internship at a local Boy's and Girl's Club, where she hopes to meet others like herself. Her parents: Terell and Renetta Granger, entrusted her to the care of her aunt, 36 year old Samone Granger--Samone lets her come and go as she pleases, so long as she obeys three rules: get home before the streetlights come out, clean the house, and use her "gifts" wisely. She aspires to join the prestigious Xavier's School for Mutants soon (in truth, the letter has come twice, but her father does not inform her of their arrival.)

Key Differences

She is like her predecessor Jean insofar as the two share a volatile personality, but Ivory tends to be far more loving than Jean was in her younger days. She detests the rejection of others. Her emotions are more fragile than Jean's, but she does not often get emotionally charged enough to randomly activate her powers as Jean did.

Sample Story Arcs

A Long Way From Home: Anti-mutant sentiment is strong, especially in a place like NYC. During a confrontation with an attacker, she unleashes her powers and devastates a strip of the city. A proverbial target is put on her back by police, villains, and the Brotherhood alike who want to take her into custody or use her for their own means.

Mr. Xavier: She finally gets to join Xavier's School for Gifted Mutants where she meets the offspring of several iconic X-Men characters and goes on missions assigned to her by Xavier.

Daughter of Sam: She is captured by a rogue "government" agency and experimented on, perhaps turned into a villain.

Birth of a New Era: She forms her own team of young mutant vigilantes and they go around fighting petty crime in the streets.

Michael Oakley

He stood outside the local tavern that was also next to the nightclub; both dens of sin were relatively empty, a calm before the hedonist storm beneath the moonlight later in the day. Although it was one of several weekdays--or it was the last time Michael wasn't suffering from a hangover--and the party animals probably had regular lives to tend tomorrow. A cold jolt shot up his right arm beneath the brown tweed jacket he wore and it caused him to revert to a vertical stance; he more enjoyed the pole he was leaning on, though. Nothing exciting was happening, and the bus was late for the third time this week. I swear Old Jenkins is gonna get fired one of these days. He ain't made this route on time in two years.
Maybe he just didn't notice it, too busy thinking about Hegelian systems and Heidegger's stance on techne to be concerned with real world (and frankly more important) issues: screams. His maple brown eyes flit to the amassing crowd; a woman brandishing an iPhone near her ear and probably describing the cause of the commotion--what looked to be a totaled car.

"Oh, shit."

He had nothing better to do, and he wasn't particularly feeling a shot of Jameson this early in the day, so he went to investigate the scene. @Kidd
