It was around ten in the morning when Nelli fell asleep there on her futon and when she woke it was five in the evening. The girls didn't head out for their jobs until six when it would start to get dark, so for now the four of them were stuck within the ware house, keeping mainly to themselves with very few words spoken between them. As Nelli was just laying there, she would imagine she was else where. Back in her home town with her father. Sometimes even her mother, though even though she had only seen the woman in pictures still couldn't help but be fond of thinking about what it would be like to meet and spend time with her. Sometimes she would picture herself finally graduating college with her degree. But most times she would think about how life would have been for her if she hadn't come to Japan. She would be so close to finishing college by now. She would be doing great. She would have a wonderful life. She would be all around happy. Not scared and alone, trapped in a small warehouse by a Japanese gang. Lost in her thoughts for a long time, she layed there for a few hours before she crawled over to the cracked wall in her space and from the cracks pulled out a small locket. The Yakuza had forbid them from keeping anything person it was true, but Nelli had kept this trinket a secret. Opening up the locket, she looked at the picture of her mother and father. "Is that them?" Nelli turned to see one of the Japanese girls peaking through the dividing curtain at her, "Is that your mother and father? Confused, she thought for a moment before she spoke back, by now having gotten very good with her Japanese, "How do you know this is them? I've never spoken of him to anyone. The girl, who was perhaps a year of two younger then herself walked over and sat down beside her on the futon, looking at the picture inside of the locket, "You talk in your sleep. You act as if you are speaking to someone and the you always say is always 'mum' and 'papa'. Is this them?" She asked once again, nodding to picture that both of them knew very well she shouldn't have but neither mentioned that fact to one another. The girls would rather keep quiet if one another did something wrong, then risk getting accused of something themselves when ratting the other girl out(not like Nelli would do such a thing anyway, though she could only speak for herself and not the other three girls). Nelli nodded slowly, her eyes on the picture, "Yes. They are my parents." "Do you miss them?" "Yes. I do." Nelli whispered, staring down at the picture still sadly. She could feel tears stinging her eyes but didn't dare let them escape. Especially when she hear the lock on the outside of the warehouse began to get unlocked. Not having time to fold the photo up as she normally did, in a quick movement, she slid the picture under her futon and the Japanese girl moved over to her side, just in time for Hirosin to slid open the door. "Up now. Time for work." Each of the four girls were given their clothes they were to wear and a key if needed. Taking the clothes, she was quite surprised to find what she was being changed into was something, well, normal. Something she might have worn when going on a date or going out to eat with her father in the past. It was a very cute dress, which is what confused her. But, she wouldn't question it either. She just got dressed and then she walked out from the warehouse and sighed as she was lead by her owner's assistant down the street toward her next costumer. Walking in to the place, she was led to the room by one of Hirosin's men and once inside and left alone to await the costumer, she sighed, sitting down n the bed, ready to get this night over with.
Cassie smirked when he basically forced her to lay back and cover up, laughing slightly, "Oh look, another example of your 'natural charm'. Forcing a girl to rest when she doesn't even need or want it. Such a lucky woman I am." She joked, watching him leave and sighed, staying there as he said, staring up at the dark ceiling for what seemed like a long while. Just in a little over a minute though the lights in the room had flickered on, making her blink and try to adjust to the new lightening. She had just gotten used to it when Serix walked in, sitting on the edge of her bed. When he started speaking, she sat up a little bit and listened to his words, a bit stunned at what he was suggesting. It was really strange, how fast their relationship was moving along. And yet, this all just felt so natural. It felt like the two of them were just supposed to be together and be so close like this. And so, when he proposed something so strange as to getting married--- or in his case mated---Cassie wasn't weirded out by it at all. In fact, she was thrilled at the thought of getting married to Serix and that he wanted to get married as well. He was basically proposing to her right then and Cassie really felt like the luckiest girl in the world. Growing up in this wasteland, trying to survive, she had never thought she would get a proposal from anyone, and here she was. She couldn't ask for anything more. Smiling very brightly and happily at him, Cassie nodded quickly and leaned forward, her hands on his cheeks as she kissed him, laughing slightly under his lips, "Serix, yes." She looked him in the eyes, as happy as ever, "Let's make this whole relationship of ours, as crazy and strange as it is, offical, Serix."
Once they were seated outside at one of the restaurant's tables, they had their drinks brought to them ad the waitress was quick to take their orders. Anna herself just ordered something small and simple, which was just a simple plate of chicken and fries. She had never been one to eat a lot and so just eating something like this was enough for her. Once the waitress had taken their order, Anna was silent for a long moment, sipping on the drink that had been brought to her, when Devon looked to her and asked about her name. She had to think about that for a moment. Of course Anna was a nickname for her. Her real name had been, she assumed from her locket that hung about her neck, Ana, a common name in foreign countries really, but to her that hadn't sounded right for some reason. So, she had just called herself Anna instead. But how was she supposed to answer his question when even she herself didn't really know or remember the answer to it? Brushing her hair back from her face, she took another sip of hr drink in thought before she attempted to try and answer it, "Well....its not really short for anything. I'm just Anna. That's it." She stated calmly before she looked to him once more, asking a question of her own, "So, Devon, why did you ask me here? Surely it wasn't just because you wanted to apologize for bumping into me..."
Cassie gave him a look that was half annoyed, yet a playful smile still on her face when he spoke of not being able to keep her hands off of him, "Yes, and that does including socking you and pushing you to the ground." She let him help her stand u and she had been expecting to be helped to the room as he had done the other day, with his arm around her waist and half carrying her as they went along. But, when he pulled her to her feet, he did something she wasn't expecting and wrapped his arms around her back and behind her knees, lifting her off of her feet in one swift movement. When he did this she yelped, her arms instinctively wrapping around his neck. When the feel of possibly falling washed away and was replaced by the comfort of him holding her, she couldn't help but laugh. Looking to him as he carried her, she met his mischievous smirk with her own bright smile, "Well, this is very romantic of you. I'm pleasantly surprised." She was very content to let him carry her, her head resting on the front of his shoulder, "This reminds me a lot of couples on Earth. When they would first get married it was tradition for the humans males to carry the females like this into their home. But they would carry them like this other times too. My father would carry my mother like this around the house all the time. It always made me mother so happy and my father would always enjoy seeing her smile like that. It always made me happy too, seeing them like that." She smiled at him again, letting her blue eyes meet his own as she leaned up to kiss his lips, "I guess what I mean to say is, its nice, Serix." They made it back to the bedroom and when she was set down on one of the beds, she smiled at him again, "I don't think I need to sleep this time. Just rest for a few minutes."
This man was nothing but another costumer. This was something that Venelopi was used to. Waking up beside a man she didn't even really know had become the norm every morning. Sometimes the men would be perfectly fine and relaxed the next morning, and others, much like the young man that had been her costumer the night before, were in pain with a immense hangover, trying to remember the events of the night before. At the movement beside of the man waking up, Nelli opened her eyes and sat up, the sheet from the bed wrapped around herself as she looked to him. Yes, he seemed very confused at first. Men were known for coming to see and the other girls in a drunken state, not really in the state of mind to think but to get an easy girl to lay with, even if they had to pay for it. Soon though, he seemed to remember what had happened and had seemed to come to terms with it. Well at least he wasn't like some men who in their shock had in the past yelled and even lashed out at her. She had that happen to her too many time to count and she always got hurt, whether the pain be emotional or physical. The man got dressed and in a short goodbye left like all the other men did, taking, like all the others, a piece of her with him. That's what it felt like every morning to her now. Like every man had taken a piece of her and now slowly everything she once was had been cracked and broken, the shattered pieces of her staying with those men. After a few moments of sitting in her emotional pain, Nelli looked up to see one of the men that worked for her owner walk in. He threw a change of clothes at her, and as soon as she was changed, she was lead out of the motel. When not on the job, she was to wear normal clothes that were plain, as instructed by her owner because such clothing was inexpensive and in a case where he or his men wanted her, the clothes were easily ripped and replaceable. He was an evil and conniving Yakuza who bought girls and used them as much as he wanted. And Nelli was his latest and most successful purchase, as well as his favorite to take on. How it usually went for lending her out when he wasn't using her though, was he had a list of assignments for her. People would make appointments and it was always a first come first serve. If someone wanted her all night, they would have to set it up early. Sometimes, rarely, people would even have her all day and all night. Sometimes she didn't sleep for days depending on how many appointments she had. She would be taken to her owner's high class hotel room, given the assignments, taken to the place by one of her owner's assistants, then when it was all over, the same assistant would bring her back to her owner so he could do whatever he wished with her, whether that be to ask her questions and send her on her way, or to have his turn with her. So, that's what was happening now. She entered the hotel with the assistant and took the elevator up to his his room at the top floor, only to enter and find three of the four other girls still there and looking very much worried and frightened. She paused, hesitant and unsure as she stood there until one of owner's men who worked for him grabbed her roughly by the arm, leading over to where the other girls sat on the floor in the corner. This was something that hadn't happened before and it scared her. She looked at the other three girls as if to ask what was going on, but they quickly shook their heads. It seemed they had been there long enough to know what exactly what was happening and it wasn't good. They stayed that way, huddled in that corner until someone else came through the door. Hirosin, their owner, entered and coming in behind him was one of his man, carrying the struggling girl she knew as Rosa. Rosa was the Spanish girl he owned. All the girls knew each other fairly well by now, considering they shared the tiny warehouse hidden behind the hotel as living quarters. Rosa was a...rebellious sort and had always spoke about how one day she would try to escape, though had never braved it. Until that day. She was thrown onto the floor, already a bloody mess from probably getting caught in the first place, only to be jerked up and set upon her knees while Hirosin approached the four of them in the corner, "Apparently, you all have forgotten the consequences of what happens when you try to double cross me. So, I will give you all a little reminder..." He turned, lashing out at the already bloodied girl, kicking her, hitting her until she was nothing but a sobbing mess on the floor. For a moment, Nelli so naively thought that was it. That they were just going to beat the girl. But it wasn't. They raped her as well. And, as if that wasn't enough for the men, when they were through torturing her, two of them head her up with Hirosin drew a pistol from the pocket of his coat. Suddenly realizing what was going to happen, Nelli buried her face in her hands so as not to watch. She hated this. Hated she wasn't brave enough to say something against it. But she was smart enough to know if she did, that would just get her punished as well, if not given the same fate as Rosa. She heard Hirosin order one of the men to 'take care of the American girl' and her eyes widened and she looked up in fear, one of the men slapping her on the face and then restraining her so that she was forced to look upon Hirosin holding the gun on the girl's head, Hirosin speaking to Nelli, "Listen well American. When there is punishment, you will watch. And let it be known, that if you cross me, " Nelli yelped, tears streaming down her face as the gun shot rang out and Rosa fell onto the floor, blood pulling out from her head, "this will be your fate." Nelli was let go, and the girls were kept there as the mess in the hotel room was cleaned. Once that was taken care of, Hirosin gave the order to send the girls back to their home, making the girls leave out the back way. They were too much of a mess and emotional for the people in the hotel to see. Once taken out the back way, the four of them were lead to the small warehouse behind the hotel that their owner lived in. This was their home. It had thin sheets for dividers that divided the room into five parts, one for each girl. No one dared look into Rosa's room. Each went to their own section that was barely bigger then a closet, and the whole warehouse itself was no bigger than a normal bedroom itself. The five of them shared this space. Well, four now that one of them was gone. They weren't allowed anything from their other lives. Clothes they had brought with them were burned. No photos were aloud. Everything that had once held dear was gone. Once in here and in her section, it was there that Nelli curled up on the small futon she had to sleep on, sobbing. Her plans had been after college she would get a good job. She would be something and make something of herself. But, obviously that wouldn't happen because she never was going home. She would be stuck in Japan used as a tool for the Yakuza until they grew tired of her and killed her. She would never see her home land again. There was no hope for her as far as she knew. Sighing, she rolled over and curled up, hoping to get at least some sleep after the horrific night she had just endured.
Just posted. Hopefully its okay. BTW, just reposted the picture of her as a little girl using a different link. Let me know if it works for you.
Anna wasn't exactly sure what to make of this young man she had run into. The way he looked at her when they first bumped into one another was strange, especially with the fact of how he had suddenly went from being very angry to suddenly very surprised and apologetic to her. It was something that made her want to keep walking, but soon the man was catching up with her to speak, saying some things that made her confused. Things like that she had the appearance of a princess (Anastasia specifically), and asked her if she would like to forgot about her current life style and trade it for a more rich filled life. When he stepped in front of her, she stopped and took a step back to keep from bumping into him given the sudden stop. This guy really gave off the vibes of being crazy. No, wait, not crazy. She had seen some crazy people in her life time. No, this man was more urgent and desperate than anything. Desperate to talk to her and convince her it seemed. She looked up at him when he offered her dinner and she had a skeptical look on her face. Should she agree to something like that, with someone she didn't even really know? But then again, if it was in a public place then what could it hurt? Besides, Mrs Graven had said she didn't want to see her the rest of the night, so Anna could assume she wasn't going to get any supper at home. That, and this guy surely couldn't be any worse than Mrs. Graven. If she could deal with that grumpy old prune, then Anna was sure she could take care of herself when it came to this. Looking to him as he held out his hand to her, she sighed and took his hand, shaking it, "My name is Anna. And I guess I could use some dinner." She was avoiding all of those earlier questions for now until he was ready to tell her exactly what he was up to or why he had really wanted to have dinner with her.
“Oh, don’t worry about that,” The prince spoke at her mention of not having the right clothes for such an event, as well as not sure if his father would even allow her into the ball, “I’m sure we could find you a suitable dress, and my father won’t mind your status so long as you can prove to him your talent, and I have no doubt you can manage that.” She bit her lip when he said this, hoping he was right. ye, she loved to sing, but had never really sang for anyone before. It was a nervous thought and for a moment she considered really turning him down. But, the thought of getting to see more about humans safely led her to keep her refusal from being spoken. She looked up a little surprised when the prince told her to follow him at first. She hadn't been expecting to go o the palace right a that moment, but then again, she guessed she should have been expecting that. After all, the ball was in just a couple of days ad surely they wanted to have everything planned as son as possible. To plan the music though, his father would have to hear her before hand. So, when they began walking, she had only take a few steps when he stopped to ask her another question. A slight smile came to her face when he asked for her name and she looked to the ground a moment shyly before speaking, "My name is Mirabella." She began following after him again, Grounii walking calmly on the ground beside them, sometimes running up to walk ahead of them and other times to walk either beside herself or beside the prince. "Destrian?" Mira spoke after a while, her voice quiet as usual, her gaze flickering around the forest in curiosity, as she hadn't been so far into the thick of forest from her home since her father was alive, "Why even consider someone like me to perform at such a important event? After all, I am of the low class. And I always assumed....well....that royalty couldn't stand to be in the presence of people like me."
Sorry about the wait. Letting you know that I am not dropping out. Things have just be really busy. Hopefully I can get something in soon.
It was so easy to hold Serix's hand and follow him out into the hallway this time. In fact, it left her almost laughing because just a couple of days before doing this had left her feeling light headed and so anxious. Now everything was so different. When they sat down on the floor of the hallway, close to one another, her gaze meeting his, and when hr blue eyes met his, a bright smile came to her face. And when he told her to close her eyes, she nodded, doing just that, letting her forehead rest against his, her hands resting calmly in his as she listened to his voice inside her head. She took deep breathes, remembering what he had told her before about imagining a tunnel opening up between their minds. This time, with her not being so anxious about being so close to him and so relaxed, it actually made it a little easier to find the connection. There was link between the two and it felt so natural and right to be connected to him. She took deep breathes, focusing in attempt to keep the pathway between the two of them. It lasted a bit longer than it had before but as much as she regretted it with this connection feeling so nice, she had to give hs hands a squeeze after a couple of minutes passed. She took deep breaths to steady herself and opening her eyes she looked at him, giving a small smile, "Well, that was easier. But I still think I might need help getting back to the room." She said with a slight laugh, looking up at him.
