I always keep my birds away from other animals unless they are other birds and I only do so if they look lonely cause I do have a job or school so it is a chunk of the day they can't be out. I read up on all my babies before I ever by them but I have had birds all my life
Well higher ranked masters may lead to them feeling they had more of a right to be smug to anyone of the same kind, rank or lower. It is hard to say unless we saw the lower rank owners of pearls.
It makes sense that the Pearl would conform to what pleased it's master though. They are a servant and people have different kinds of needs or what they think is a "correct way" to do what they need.
