@KOgaming Okay. I'm still going to ask you to change basically everything you contested me on. A line from your CS is literally 'Because they were all wind monsters, Hibiki was put into the Wind Dorm. Easy as that.' so it's easy to see why I'd say your justification for wind is wind. There's little shares among them that would make me think otherwise, especially with how you laid a hard focus on deck and strategy with the first three.

Also, GX had a duel academy too and you never saw those terminologies there either. This isn't to be taken as a real-life setting, KO, it's an extension of the (subbed) anime and we'd like to treat it as such.

@Deluge There wasn't a chance in hell you were getting rejected. You have a clear theme with your characters and define your dorm with much more than just the decks they play.

@KOgaming Oookay, there's issues here. Almost all of them have to do with the way you're selling us the sheet. You keep referring back to the decks everyone has and what the underlying strategy and cards in it is, using lingo such as 'stun' and 'engines'. This feels overly IRL and puts such a heavy focus on the decks that it feels incredibly out of place. The justification for them being WIND dorm for having WIND decks is also incredibly lame and we'd like you to try a little harder than that. Build the dorm around your characters and not the decks they play, and for the love of the holy Sophia, try not to use so much lingo. We don't want to see those terms in the thread either, because they'd be incredibly out of place in dialogue and would get you funny looks.

You're on the right track with those last two NPCs, though. They have a lot more personality than the other three and show a clear bond of friendship between each other.

@MidKnights Really good effort in my opinion, but mixed in with a lot of flaws. We like your app a lot more than KO's for the wind dorm, but we can't accept you either for a few reasons. If you can fix them up and re-write some things, that'd get you a spot pretty easily. Taking it from the top;

1: While we certainly don't mind everyone in Wind being calm and collected, it might be best to re-write one or two of them to flare up on occasion and break the calm demeanor, showing how wind can slowly become vicious and calm down again soon after.

2: Remember, your NPC's and main character should be at the top of the dorm, not making their way up still. They're the best and represent almost the entire dorm in the competition for the top, so they should be a bigger deal than what you made them out to be. Re-write some backstory to have your main guy be the champion and have the other 4 right behind him as the top 2 through 5.

3: Your list of example cards is a bit too much of a catch-all. There isn't one defining strategy in it, you just listed everything under the sun except maybe taking control of the opponent's monsters. 'Field' and 'Equip' spells are also really broad and something any deck could have. Try not to list broad examples like this and narrow it down to 3 or so traits. Look at how Deluge, me, Satoshi and Plum handled it for a good reference on how to handle that.

@ThePlumbum Good sheet! Leonard and his crew are defnitely accepted for DARK, and having a psychic duelist could really shake things up. If there's one minor critique I'd give it's that there's a bit too much 'deck-talk' in, ironically, the deck section. It could be condensed to say something along the lines of: 'Leonard dislikes using raw power cards due to his abilities as a psychic duelist, so he prefers to use more defensive cards like Viruses to minimize the amount of damage he has to do to the opponent to win a duel.'

But, again, it's a minor critique and you've definitely earned your Dark dorm spot.

On that note, however, this only gives us two filled-out dorms. We'd like at least four to start the RP, and the two that haven't been filled out can be done so after the RP's start. Those who have been accepted can post their stuff over in the characters tab.

@KOgaming Synchro and Xyz were chosen because they represent opposites in both colour schemes and ideals if we go by the anime. We also don't want to have too many dorms as, quite frankly, too many players is a pain to handle in such a narrow setting.

Rituals and fusion don't really fit anywhere into this and 4 neutral dorms would've honestly been a bit overkill anyway.

@KOgaming 1: You don't 'switch' dorms. Every time something like this comes up I will keep mentioning it until people realise we don't do reservations or anything of the like. People should sign up for what they want to sign up for, not based on what someone else wants.

2: Dorms are not attribute-locked. Just because I decided to go full synchro doesn't mean everyone else needs to be as rigid. Just look at Sat's sheet, there's a pendulum deck in the middle of an Xyz dorm. It's based on the people in it, not the decks they play.

Taka is a male persona, Taya is a female persona.

Appearance:
Taya / Taka has amber eyes and waist-length beige hair. They stand at 1m69 and share the same general build, but the similarities end there for whatever persona they don at the time.

Taya leaves her hair untied and lets it flow freely. She also wears just enough makeup to make her eyes, nose and lips look a little smaller but not enough to make you notice she's wearing any at all. Her style of clothing is very much everything she deems cute, with the clothes she prefers always being some kind of sailor or school uniform. On her feet are always pumps, never any heels or sneakers. Black skirts and white blouses are her go-to standard, although she actively avoids showing too much skin so she can hide herself. Her voice is rather high pitched and clearly feminine.

Taka, on the other end, dresses more masculine. He ties up his hair into a low ponytail so it doesn't stand out as much as Taya likes to have it, but still applies makeup. His makes it so his jawline is more pronounced and make the eyes stand out, giving Taka a more imposing and hostile look as opposed to Taya's cuteness. He often wears brown & black male school uniforms and suits to hide his body in, but his shoulders are noticeable broader than Taya's. He also likes to wear very business, or just plain old-fashioned, shoes. His voice has a medium pitch and is clearly that of a male's.

Personality:
They act differently based on the persona.

Taya is a very sweet and gentle person who has everyone's best interests at heart. She can be a bit of an airhead and doesn't pay much attention to detail, but her bubbly attitude makes her very sociable and tolerant. She's very easy to get along with and it takes quite a bit of effort to upset her, but her trusting nature also makes her naïve. She prefers to think with her emotions rather than her head, so whenever people start fighting Taya will try to act as a mediator and defuse the situation.

Taka, on the other hand, is foulmouthed and abrasive. He'll constantly try to push everybody away from him and dislikes interacting with other people. He's a very logical but also nihilistic thinker, constantly pondering about everything and everyone. He's got his head on straight, but is relatively easy to anger if you get confrontational with him. He has an easier time concentrating and thinking logically compared to the Taya persona, but his lack of social skills make him a terrible diplomat.

Backstory:
Taya/Taka have practically been cross-dressing since birth. Even back in Kindergarten, they'd dress up as a male one day and a female the next. At first the kids thought they were twins, alternating one day after the other, but as Tsuin grew older people started to realise it was the same person dressed in different outfits. The female persona always garnered a lot of attention and was doted on by everyone, while the male persona was often left ignored and even bullied. Still, they soldiered through life and had nothing much to complain from when it came to their parents, as they were very accepting of the nature of the cross-dressing. Their life wasn't particularly exciting, but the family got by and was relatively happy with each other.

Ayu is pretty short, standing at only 1m52. Her jet black hair is just shoulder-length for the most part, but her front bangs are cut so it doesn't fall in front of her eyes. It's already hard enough with glasses covering them at all times, so Ayu doesn't need to have her sight messed up further by being unable to look at what's in front of her. She likes to dress in very loose clothing, sometimes even a size too large for her, which gives the girl a very baggy look to her. Her skin's fairly pale compared to most people, showing that she doesn't come outside as much as others. Her eyes are always unfocused and staring off in one direction or the other, giving her a very dazed look at almost all times. Her voice is also very soft and almost a little strained, but the pitch fits for someone of her size.

Personality:
Ayu can't seem to settle on one particular mood. She's often daydreaming or staring off into space and talking to her is always a shot in the dark. It's hard to tell whenever she's having a good or bad day, so her reactions to people approaching her can vary wildly for no seeming reason. In truth, she's a very deep thinker and doesn't like to be disturbed from her thoughts, except when they take a turn for the worse. Since she concentrates on thinking so hard, though, her face is always blank and empty as she forgets how to emote.

In general, Ayu is a serious individual with an extreme amount of apathy for those around her. She's more of the loner type and won't hesitate to speak her mind if people are annoying or upsetting her, preferring quiet solitude as opposed to crowds or having lots of friends. She'll try to be polite, but her way of thinking is abstract and incompatible with most people, so she won't notice whenever she says something strange or rude. Ayu is also too stubborn to realise when this happens, so getting an apology out of her only serves as an exercise in frustration. She doesn't actively try to be hostile or unfriendly, but her extreme boredom to the things happening around her usually come across as this anyway.

Backstory:
Ayu is a child born into a wealthy family, with her father being the CEO of a popular soft drink manufacturer. She's their only child, and is raised to take over the company once she's old enough. She's always avoided her parents, caretakers and the resident butler though, namely by hiding around the mansion she was living in. It didn't accomplish much, but she had peace and quiet.

Ayu was mostly left alone in schools too. Whenever kids tried to interact with her, she'd pretend to be busy or have something else to do. It was never true, of course. She just disliked social interaction and wanted to be by herself. The lessons were boring to her, but she was able to keep up without any issues.

Her life's been pretty boring, honestly.

Ando is 6' exactly and is in amazing shape. He dyes his hair purple and usually wears a white button-up and black slacks.

Bio:
At a young age, many thought Ando would grow up and be like his father. A talentless failure who spent his life doing meaningless work. At the age of eight when his mother died, Ando didn't show any emotion. He bottled it inside. All of this occurred just before the young boys' uncle came home to grieve the passing of his sister. The man was a major guitarist in a very prominent rock band in Japan. Ando quickly bonded with the man and one day decided to attempt to play the guitar. From the very moment he began, it was obvious that Ando was a prodigy.

He spent hours upon hours playing the guitar and drew attention by big record companies. They paired him with a few others and his career as the lead guitarist for a major band began. He eventually became bored with the lifestyle and that was precisely around the time he received an invitation to Hope's Peak Academy. So, just to try something new and to get away from the fame a little he decided to attend the school.

Personality:
Ando is usually seen as the silent cool type. The lead guitarist of a band he is in and therefore adored by many girls. However, he cares little for any kind of relationship. Due to this many guys hate him or desire to be like him. The only thing that matters to Ando is his guitar. If he didn't have his guitar he probably would beat the crap out of anyone who got to close. The only time anyone can see emotion from Ando is when he plays his guitar or if he's pissed.

@Deluge Not really intent on making a full-scale argument over Link monsters in the thread, but my two cents on the subject matter can be summed up in a few key matters.

-I already hated it when Xyz had generic as sin summoning requirements, but Link take it a step further. Most link monsters can use anything under the sun as materials, making them so splashable it hurts.

-I really, really dislike gimping the extra deck and Pendulums for Master Rule 4. The game's already gone through a huge load of changes in MR3 and taking it a step further in MR4 makes the core experience so vastly different that I wouldn't enjoy the game even if I tried to.

-Konami's card design has always been an issue outside of Links, and while this doesn't have anything to do with the ED method itself, it shows just how bad things have gotten when they felt the need to introduce an entire mechanic just to rectify mistakes only to get screwed over by other cards they've made in the past.

Also, a general point as to why it's bad for RPs:

-Keeping track of the board state in a written form gets very messy, very quick.

And while I'm on a roll anyway, concerning Vrains:

-Vrains has some of the most boring duel writing I've seen in a long while. The show isn't bad by any means, but seeing a predictable Playmaker win after shitting out 5+ links in a duel isn't fun. Extra Deck Vomit already had shaky footing when Reiji did it, and he only got away with it because it's novel and he didn't duel often. Meanwhile, Yusaku does it nearly every duel, heck, his summon count only goes up each episode. By the end of the series he's going to have shit out more Extra Deck monsters compared to all other protagonists combined. That's not fun writing. It's stale and repetitive.

@Deluge Alright, one thing that springs out immediately is that you have second years in your top 5. First and second years have their own brackets separate from the third years, so while it may very well be possible that some second or first year duelists are better than your top 5, officially they wouldn't be in the top 5. Considering the winning dorm's top 5 students all go pro if they win, it'd be awkward for a second or first year to end school early like that.
