as much as I'd love to pre-plan RPs, I've also noticed that's the fast track to killing them. A little planning and a rough gist is fine, but anything beyond that and people don't wanna write no more.

A long while. In fact, you can check the date the thread went up, and there was good few days of the Int. Check being up before that as well.

We pretty much had the last 2 spots taken just now.
@FoxSoxs@Tenma Tendo Aight, so me and Sat sat around a round table and discussed this for the lesser part of an hour, and the TL;DR is that Tenma's through unanimously. I'll just sum up what both me and him thought of them:
Me
For Tenma's, I just love the amount of varied characters in it. There's a good balance and they feel like a cohesive whole that's not out of place in the universe. Felicitas seems like a charming and likable character and the other 4 feel like good additions to fill in the gaps. I'm not a fan of how many foreigners there are, but it's not a major issue. The BG is nothing special but still solid and overall it feels like they feel like a good addition to the cast.
Meanwhile, I'm not much a fan of the way Fox handled his characters. Some feel out of place in the YGO universe by being either too dark or realistic. (and with realistic, I mean just not anime enough) Another problem I feel is that there's quite a bit of overlap with archetypes already present, particularly in Kiya as she feels a bit too similar to my Emi. The backstory of the main guy also isn't getting me sold on the guy; it feels too grounded in our world and less like something you'd see in a YGOverse. We know Jounouchi's dad was an alcoholic and that he had a rough life, sure, but I'm not even sure if the anime even kept that aspect of his backstory. It was mainly a manga and S0 thing, while further series made backstories a little more light and surreal. The darkest one we had was in Yusei, and if you stop to think about it, his entire backstory is "My dad accidentally nuked a city and now I grew up in the slums, but I still got super good at card games and made a ton of friends," which isn't the pinnacle of realism lol.
Satoshi
He was just on-board with Tenma the moment the sheet went up and figured Fox would have a hard time trumping it. I didn't get a lot of details, but he's pretty freakin' alright with the dorm.
Meanwhile, his reaction to Fox wasn't great. He doesn't really like any of the characters and feel like they don't really feel like they have a reason for being in Dark, the dorm with the library and in a cool shade all the time. He feels that "dark character = dark dorm" was the justification there, rather than some personalities that happened to resonate with the staff. He also really doesn't like the backstory for similar realism issues as I described above, especially with how tacked on the love of rock and videogames seems to be. He just feels the characters belong more in a different setting and not this lighthearted series of 'Yu-Gi-Oh!'

@Tenma Tendo ye, me and sat already read over it. Certainly looks good, but we want to give Fox a fair shot so we're also giving him some time to get a completed CS up and compare the two, then pick the best one.
@FairyPrincess Don't take our silence as if we haven't read your sheet btw, we've read over it and haven't found any issues so far, so we're really just waiting on you to get your history up to see how all this ties together.
@FoxSoxs That deck is looking a lot better, yeah. Personally not a fan of a card like Trap Hole because it's so one-note, but it's not like your deck is filled with cards that stop your opponent from playing YGO. You didn't really have to list every possible card they could use though, lol. Like Cosmos said, it wouldn't be out of the question to look to cards outside your decklist for when we get around to actually scripting.
@Tenma Tendo I can't speak for what Satoshi thinks and I won't (he's mainly the guy that'll judge whether or not your actual character is good or not), but what you have so far looks pretty alright to me. Never a fan of when the shown S/T cards are floodgates or play stoppers and I'm seriously questioning why people still think they need +0 cards like Allure, but the deck overall is still fine enough.
You're still going to need to get the other four up and running, though, because a sheet is judged as a whole, not based off one subsection. If you'll take a look at the other top 5's in already accepted sheets, though, you'll see they don't have to be nearly as detailed as your main duelist.

I'll make the changes and keep what you said in mind when I finish it up. I haven't played Yugioh in forever so sorry about the meta build. I did some research on a deck for it. The newer cyberdark cards can equip with the old ones since they meet the criteria for the equip (Being 3 stars and having the Dragon type). To fit the deck theme I have all cyberdarks then not needing the old school Hunter Dragon staple.
yeah but are you really only going to equip the two cyberdark monsters every duel? Not to sound nitpicky, but that sounds hella boring. You can and *should* get a little crazy with your plays and card choices, they make the most interesting stuff happen.
Sorry if this was said, but are we fighting the NPC's also? I assume the PC responsible for them will play them or are we just fighting champions? I assume the world NPC's will also have a part ran by the GMs as well.
uh... ye? The NPC's are there *exactly* to give some variety to the cast so the 6(+2 gm) PCs aren't the only people on the planet, apparently. Not to mention there will be none sign-up NPCs for you to fight too.
by the way, @Tenma Tendo showed interest in the DD too from the int. check, so to make it fair we've given them a chance to also get a sheet up. We'll pick whichever one of the two is best, unless tenma wishes to step out. I hope you're alright with that, we don't really want to go with 'first come first serve' here because of the already limited space.
