As Maleficent helped Loki restore the Moors to its natural beauty, she stood upon her throne before a glow appeared on her back. It was striking to see that her wings were back to her. Stretching them out wide, she looked upon Loki as she silently told him that they came back to her. She made a grin before taking flight through the trees.
Maleficent walked down the line with Loki as he railed slightly behind before they get to the front of the throne and stood to the side at the stairs where Eric stood. The huntsman stood before the crowd before he turned to the magical beings giving them a nod of his head in thanks.
"In the name of all that is good in this land, I crown you king of Asgard", the priest said as he laid the crown upon Eric's head. "Hail to the king!", Maleficent called to the people of Asgard. The crowd began to bow before him, including the fae and Jotun.

Eric returned the hug to Loki.
The darkness was over and the two kingdoms began to heal. With no ruler, there was at least a member of the royal family who would take the throne.

Eric walked towards Loki, still holding the shield that he had to battle the glass warriors. "It's over", he said as he approached the pair. "The darkness is no more"
Maleficent hugged him back with the same love and warmth as she would always give him. "I am so proud of you", she said to him with a proud smile. "I need to stand, my son", she said to him in a whisper as she tried to stand up.
Maleficent's body didn't stir as she laid in her son's arms. However, as he placed a kiss to her forehead, all was silent. She stayed in the same position before her chest rose quickly. Her eyes opened quickly with a gasp from her mouth. The fae began to breathe normally as she looked up at her son. "Loki", she whispered to him.
The magic flowed from Loki's hand to Maleficent's wound and it miraculously healed. The leftover flow of the magic went into Maleficent's soul, fading into her body. But the fae didn't respond.
That's fine.
"My fate is certain, Loki. I can't", she shook her head before she gave a harsh breath from her wound. As he said about his apology, she gave a sad proud smile to him. "You'll always be my son. I will always love you. I'm sorry", she whispered before her eyes looked up at the ceiling slowly and gave a sigh before her chest stopped moving, her hand falling limp in Loki's grip.
