Ravenna

Overview
Ravenna is a cruel, powerful witch who was once the tyrannical ruler of the kingdom of Asgard. She is the eldest sister of Finn and Lizzie, the widow of King Balder, and the arch nemesis of Loki. She was regarded as being the 'Fairest of Them All', but when she learns that Loki has surpassed her as the 'fairest', Ravenna becomes determined to kill him and consume his heart, in order to maintain her powers and eternal youth.

Personality
Ravenna is shown to be cruel, arrogant, power-hungry, and extremely vain. Despite her great age, some of her personality traits like her extreme emotional outbursts, overreactions to bad news, and her anger issues are rather childish in nature. Overly obsessed to achieve her immortality and eternal beauty, she will not forgive failure very easily until she gets what she wants. She greatly fears defeat as she becomes increasingly deranged and paranoid as Loki continues to evade her. She is very manipulative and charming towards others, able to seduce many, even kings, with her exterior beauty, or by promising them things they want to secure her own power. Very fixated on her goals, Ravenna is very arrogant as she tends to underestimate her enemies, which ultimately lead to her first defeat. She also underestimates the power of love and courage as well as the importance of inner beauty over physical beauty. She only maintains her power by suppressing rebellion through violence and fear. Despite her generally callous and brutal treatment of others, Ravenna does appear to be capable of love and affection. She clearly loves her brother, Finn, and her sister, Lizzie, although it should also be noted that Ravenna chose to sacrifice Finn to save herself, emphasizing the fact that even when it comes to her loved ones, she will always put herself first. Ravenna shows to be an extreme misandrist, having a pathological hatred for men, believing that they are vermin and that they see women as only objects to be overcome, or toys to be manipulated. The only man she appears to have respect for is her brother, and even then, she is shown treating him poorly on a number of occasions.

Loki

Overview
Loki is the foster son of Maleficent, who rescued him when he was left to die as a baby in the realm of Asgard. By taking him into her care, she raised him as her own with love and affection. Loki was also known as the godfather of Princess Silena, the lover of Eric, and the arch nemesis of Ravenna. Enchanting all with his courage and innate purity, he is considered to be the "Fairest of Them All", resulting Ravenna to seek on killing him and consume his pure heart to maintain her power.

Personality
The main core of Loki's personality is being incredibly expressive and fragile; being emotionally insecure while having the mindset of a young child. Despite this, he never loses his perspective on right and wrong. As the adopted treasured son of Maleficent, Loki played the part as a prince of the Moors. Having an idyllic childhood, he was a determined, benevolent individual who honored his position as Maleficent's life companion; even dreaming of becoming the forest's protector as he continuously idolized his 'mother', who possessed this role. To add to this, he respected the conditions and the residents of his home and he would go to great lengths to restore or protect it, even if it means to make Maleficent proud. Widely considered as the "Fairest of Them All", he has great compassion and devotion towards others, especially his loved ones. He shows care and concern for their welfare, and he would go to great lengths to help them, whenever he could. He even swore revenge and justice for Maleficent after she was killed. Loki was also very naive, to the fact that he was truly an amateur to the image of love and romance, although he really thought he knew a lot. As a child, he befriended an Asgardian boy named Thor until he fell in love with him as they grew older. Loki thought they had a romantic relationship after Thor showed him “true love’s kiss” on his 16th birthday, but he was totally unaware that Thor followed a path of greed and ambition, instead of nobility and passion. After this, Thor leaves him for many years, leaving Loki to pine for his return. But as soon as Thor returns to him one night, Loki forgives him for his various follies and they reconcile as an appearance of love. But as Thor betrays him on the same night by killing Loki's beloved 'mother', Loki's view on love changed to a dirty reality, making himself believe that there was no such thing as "true love" until he learns that his strong fatherly bond to Silena, Thor's teenage daughter, saves her from a curse that he enchanted during his vengeful rage on Thor. Loki seems to have a flaw of showing pity for others; quickly allowing them to live instead of suffer. This is proven when he saves Diaval's life twice, and sparing Thor after he hesitates to kill him. Loki would often speak his mind, even if it meant offending others. He proves to have a talent for leadership as he encourages the Duke's army to face off against Queen Ravenna. When the time came, Loki wasn't afraid of a fight. Starting out as shy and fragile, Loki ultimately became a man who bucks convention and became a fierce, competitive fighter during the battle.

Eric

Overview
Eric is the huntsman, the younger twin brother of Thor, the lover of Loki, and the uncle of Silena. A widower who was once married to a young woman named Sara, her death caused Eric's life to sadly fall apart. Her death became one of the reasons he became a huntsman and a drunkard.

Personality
Before Sara's death, Eric was a man who was caring, protective, and loyal, who loved her more than anything in the world. Even after her death, he would do anything to see her again. As he fell into a state of grief and despair, he began to self-blame himself for her death and started to frequently drink to relieve his sorrows. Because of his grieving, he soon became a selfish man who only cared about his wellbeing. But after meeting Loki, Eric felt himself being attracted to him as he slowly started to become the man he used to be. But after Loki 'died' from eating a poison apple, Eric felt helpless and showed shame as he blamed himself once again. He showed that he grew to love Loki as he kisses him for the first time while Loki laid on his deathbed. As his original self, Eric is shown to be humble and extremely loyal to his allies, especially to Loki, as he once claimed that he would die for him if he had to. He can even be rash and break the law if necessary.

Silena

Overview
Silena is the daughter of King Thor and Queen Sif, the goddaughter of Loki, the ex-wife of Balder, and Eric's niece. During her christening as an infant, she was cursed by Loki during his jealous rage on her father, and according to the curse, her destiny was to fall into a sleep like death. The Warriors Three were entrusted to raise her in the woods until after her 16th birthday. Over the years, Loki watched over and secretly took care of Silena, thus for her to believe that the wicked sorcerer is her fairy godfather.

Personality
Silena was considered to be faithful, kind, and gentle. Her innocence and purity was so strong, it changed mystical being, Loki, from being cold-hearted, back to his original pure hearted self. After being watched throughout her childhood, Loki grew to love Silena as they formed an unconditional father-daughter bond after he reluctantly began to care of her in the shadows. Due to this, Silena believed that he was her fairy godfather, who has been secretly watching her as she grew. Silena demonstrated love and respect for all people, and for it being so strong, Loki believed that she had "rare beauty". Silena is a brave young woman, enough to defend herself when in danger. This is proven when she defends herself from soldiers with just a sword. No matter how threatening Loki was, Silena showed no fear of him at all. In fact, she grew to care for him, to the fact that she wanted to stay in the Moors with him. But after learning the truth of Loki's identity as an evil sorcerer, she fearfully drew away from him. But she soon forgave him after Loki apologized and gave her a fatherly kiss on the forehead. Her devotion to Loki was so strong, one could argue that she could be Loki's soulmate, but Loki accepts her as a daughter, nevertheless. Even Silena asked for Loki's blessing of a daughter she wanted to have with her husband, Balder, thus to become part of her child's life, to which Loki gradually agreed. Silena shows to be quick-witted when she quickly takes action to free the severed wings of Maleficent from a locked cabinet after she ran to safety under Loki's order; allowing them to merge with Loki, she gave him his ability to fly for the first time.

Maleficent

Overview
Maleficent is the extremely powerful ruling fairy of the Moors as well as the foster mother of Loki, and secretly, a good witch. During the war between the kingdom of Asgard and the Moors, Maleficent rescued Loki when he was a baby that was left to die. She took him in and raised him as her own with love and warmth.

Personality
The sworn protector and a mystical fairy of the Moors, Maleficent is a woman of purity and she has an eye that is keener than anyone. She will stop at nothing to ruthlessly guard her land from invaders. Among her other traits, Maleficent was known to be one of the fairest and wisest of creatures in the realm of Asgard. Her mother-son relationship with Loki was so close, she gave him compassion and being loved dearly by him in return. To add to this, she would even sacrifice her life for his sake. A strong and majestic woman, Maleficent will perfectly stay with her allies and guide them, including Loki. When she was fatally wounded, Loki was devastated. Determined to not lose her again, Loki tries to heal her, and he eventually succeeds. Like Silena, Diaval, and Eric, Maleficent was one of those people that Loki truly cared about.

Years after her defeat, the spirit of Ravenna (Charlize Theron) has been trapped in Jotunheim's caves to prevent her from ever releasing. But as a solar eclipse came, she morphs into her ever powerful form and breaks free from her confinement. After her release, she uses her magic to take over Jotunheim and was crowned queen of the realm.

Meanwhile in Asgard, Eric (Chris Hemsworth) has been called by Fandral (Josh Dallas) at a bar, but he refuses to leave. A man tells him to leave but a bar fight breaks out and Eric defeats him without spilling his drink. They have been called to a church to exorcise a young girl. She speaks to him in a demonic voice, letting him know that Ravenna has come back and was ready to face him again. Eric manages to exorcise the girl, and the sorceress shows her full bodied self and taunts Eric. She attempts to make an escape as she turns into a beast, but Fandral latches onto her. He and Eric manage to trap Ravenna in a cage, but Fandral gets caught in it with her. She uses her nails and digs into Fandral's neck, poisoning him. Eric tries to save him, but Fandral eventually dies. Enraged, Eric sets the cage on fire, attempting to burn Ravenna alive, but she survives and retreats.

Meanwhile, in the kingdom of Asgard, a grand celebration takes place for the reign of Queen Frigga (Rene Russo), who took the throne since Eric refused. A grand ball has been called in the throne room as Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) are the palace guests. The fairy and her son do a dance together for a waltz while Frigga watches. After their dance, the three of them take a stroll through the castle grounds until Loki starts having visions with no knowledge of what they mean, and he faints. Maleficent manages to catch him and cradle him while Frigga calls for medical help. Having no idea what caused this, Maleficent shows concern for her son's health. Eric shows himself upon them and requests that Loki should be under his care for protection. Maleficent grows concerned, but trusts Eric, and allows Loki to go with him. She gives him a necklace with a red stone before he departs.

In Jotunheim, Ravenna returns to her lair and finds her removed younger sister, Lizzie (Antje Traue), burnt badly. Ravenna restores Lizzie's natural beauty and she plots to get back at Loki for her death in Asgard as Silena (Nicola Peltz) appears before them, bound and in fear. Ravenna tells Lizzie of her great plan: taking Silena's blood and Loki's heart together to gain full immortality.

Meanwhile, in a village at the realm of Nidavellir, home of the craftsman gods, Eric tells Loki that he will be looking for some supplies. Being told to wait, Loki does so until he sees a familiar woman in the distance. Looking closer for a better view, it is revealed that in Loki's eyes, it was Silena. Just before he was able to get to her, she disappears from his sight in the crowd.

Back in Jotunheim, Ravenna stands before a mirror, examining her wrinkles as Lizzie shows concern for her sister and presents to her a young woman in the middle of the room. Ravenna sucks the youth out of her until the woman turns elderly. Silena appears before them and Ravenna wonders about her loyalty as their prisoner. Silena becomes increasingly scared before she tells Ravenna about Loki and Eric's whereabouts.

Meanwhile, Loki stays with Eric in a hut at the realm of Vanaheim as they commence his training. One night, Loki wanders from his room and encounters a giant armored creature. He runs from it, but Eric defeats it, "accusing" Loki that he failed his first test: following orders such as staying in his room which he was told earlier. Later, Eric engages in a duel with Loki, expressing his doubts on him, and thinking that he does not have what it takes to fight against the forces of evil. Loki angrily throws his sword in the direction of Eric's head, sort of impressing him. Throughout the night, Eric gives Loki a bit of information on Ravenna and her cohorts as well as teaching him the basics of hunting and defeating evil forces. He even shows Loki a special dagger that he uses to kill evil forces.

In Jotunheim, Ravenna's lieutenant, Radu (Djimon Hounsou), a shapeshifter and a professional assassin, was called in along with a large group of demonic minions at his disposal. Ravenna criticizes the assassins and she kills one in the process. Silena watches before she tries to convince Lizzie to tell Ravenna to spare Loki and that she shouldn't trust her. Lizzie refuses to betray her sister and tells her to continue her spying on the Huntsman and Loki.

Later that night, Loki comes across Silena again as she rises from the water of a lake. As she comes out of the water, she reveals in a white sleeveless dress. She lies that she is just a spirit that is watching over him. However, she won't tell him that she is indeed alive. Loki grows relieved and he looks back at Eric, sleeping in the distance. He turns to look at Silena, but she disappears once again.

The next day, Eric is summoned into another kingdom along with Loki to combat a beast and that all the men are too afraid to go near it. The creature appears as a bear, but Eric fights it and brings it back to its man form named Urag (Jason Scott Lee), revealing that he is one of Ravenna's shapeshifting minions. After defeating him, Eric has Loki to go finish him off by setting him on fire, but Loki couldn't do it. Ignoring his pleas, Eric burns the villain alive as Loki angrily walks away.

After Loki intends himself to stay behind, Silena finds him again. She tells him that Eric was once in love with a witch. This, Loki grows suspicions about her strange behavior and her knowledge. Having enough, he angrily grips her arms and demands her of how she knows. As he did so, Loki then has another vision, this time, seeing wolves, hearing screams, and the kingdom of Asgard being consumed in ice. After he saw this, he looked at Silena, noticing that he was touching her. Shocked, he let go of her and asks her how it's possible for him to touch her since she is a spirit. Scared, Silena tries to flee, but Loki stops her. She finally tells him about Ravenna rising her body from her death and about her imprisonment on Jotunheim. Turning away from her, he thought about what she said, but as he turned to face her again, she disappears.

Loki returns to find Eric in the forest. He asks Eric of what happened to his wife, Sara. Eric tells him that he lost control of his rage and all that he remembered was finding her dead; he is frequently haunted by the memory of her death in his hands, which caused him to drink.

Continuing their journey, the two encounter a giant monster in the woods. Eric tells Loki to make a run for it and they outrun the creature by jumping over a cliff and into the river. They get onto the raft with a stranger, but the monster jumps in after them. It grabs Loki as they go down the rapids. Loki stabs the monster in the head right before they go over the falls. The monster dies, but Loki survives. The witch, Lizzie, finds him and threatens to kill him until she spots the necklace that Maleficent gave him. Lizzie claims that it belongs to Ravenna and she disappears.

After Loki reunites with Eric, he comments on Loki being able to defeat a monster that was thought to be unslayable. After Loki shows Eric the necklace, he reveals to Loki that Maleficent is a witch, and the stone belongs to Ravenna's Dark Army. Surprised and in shock, Loki wonders why his mother would be one of the most evilest of creatures.

In Jotunheim, Lizzie returns to Ravenna and tells her about the stone. Going to the tower that Silena is imprisoned, Ravenna instructs her to use Loki's love for her against him and steal the stone, promising to spare him if she does. Ravenna, Lizzie, Radu, and the other shapeshifting minions: Strix (Luc Roderique), Virahadra (Zahf Paroo), and Sarakin (Kandyse McClure), attack the kingdom of Asgard. Frigga and Maleficent reveal their presence as Frigga kills Strix before telling Maleficent to get to safety. Frigga was then grabbed by Ravenna and the sorceress calls her a fool before killing her. Maleficent, while trying to take flight, was then caught by chains. Taking the fae prisoner, Ravenna covers the kingdom in ice.

Meanwhile, Silena finds Loki one more time and apologizes until Eric attempts to kill her, calling her a spy, but Loki stops him as Silena runs away. Loki insists that she's not the enemy just before he realizes the necklace was missing from his neck. Caught in Radu's trap, Ravenna's minions led by Radu attack them. Although they fight back, the minions capture Eric and Loki alive.

At the kingdom of the ice covered Asgard, in the outside courtyard, the shapeshifters gather as Eric was chained to the ground, shirtless, while Loki, Maleficent, and Silena are locked together in a barred cage. Eric sees three vicious wolves being held by a minion just before Ravenna confronts Eric as she reveals that she was the one who drugged Eric that night Sara was murdered, sending her wolves to attack and kill her, framing him. Ravenna manages to seduce him until he went into a trance-like state while she uses the necklace.

To make matters worse, she orders Silena to be executed right in the middle of the courtyard for all to see her fate. Silena clings to Loki in fear as the Jotun desperately tries to hold her as long as he could before a minion manages to pull her away from him. Silena struggles as Loki pleads for them to leave her alone. Silena was forced to her knees with her hands behind her back before they placed her head on the execution block and strapped her into place. Loki's fear elevated while the minion prepares his attempt to kill her. Lizzie, remorseful of her actions, silently grabs the stone from Ravenna and runs away with it, silently breaking Ravenna's hold on Eric. Silena's desperate cries snap the huntsman into reality. Struggling to break free of the chains, Eric eventually breaks free of his chains with surprisingly inhuman strength, saving Silena before the blade hits her.

Noticing this, Ravenna orders for her wolves to break free and attack Eric. Free from his binds, Loki manages to free Maleficent and Silena from the cage as Eric slays the wolves with his bare hands. The minions attack, but Loki and Maleficent attempt to finish them, along with burning them alive. Radu turns into a dragon and confronts Eric, while Ravenna attacks Lizzie and attempts to kill her. Eric challenges Radu to fight him as a man, and he ends up killing Radu when he uses Radu's blades against him and Ravenna kills Lizzie by consuming her youth.

Maleficent flies at Ravenna, but Ravenna overpowers her by knocking her unconscious into a wall, with Eric coming to her aid. Telling Silena to run, Loki gets grabbed by the neck by Ravenna and she began sinking her nails into his chest to consume his heart. With Loki grunting and gasping in pain, Silena, scared with tears, stabs Ravenna with Loki's knife that destroys evil forces. Silena tells her that inner beauty consumes power than the outside before the sorceress dies. Loki slumps to the ground with Silena managing to catch him. Slightly injured, she cradles him as Loki manages to heal himself. Loki runs to a conscious Maleficent and goes to her with open arms.

The next day in Asgard, Eric is crowned king once again as Silena stays in the Moors with Loki and Maleficent. As everyone was at the Moors, Eric joins Loki, Silena, and Maleficent as they gaze towards Asgard's palace. Maleficent stood before Loki and gave him his own wings. In happiness, he gives his mother a loving hug before trying them out as he gave a flap with them. Eric approaches him before they give each other an embrace. Silena approaches Maleficent as they each give a bow of thanks. Silena stands with Eric as the jotun and fae walk towards the end of the cliff. Before they make a depart, Eric gives Loki one last embrace before Maleficent jumps from the cliff with Loki following. Eric and Silena smile as they watch the two fly into the clouds and towards the sunset above the Moors as the bells start to ring upon them.

A Raven caws as it flies through the sky as it flew through the borders of the cosmos.

Once mankind accepted a simple truth; that they were not alone in this universe. Some worlds, man believed home to their Gods. Others they knew to fear. From around the cold and darkness came the Frost Giants

The Raven flew into an snowing area that was windy with the snow and ice covering it. It then flew over a mountain that was at the top of the realm with Laufey sitting on his throne with a female Jotun at his side.

Forged in a body of ice with eyes red as blood, the Frost Giants took their toll on war. Threatening to plunge the world into a new ice age

An army of Asgardian soldiers marched through the realm as they marched towards an incoming fleet of Jotuns running towards them. The battle was vicious until it blurred.

The Asgardian army drove the Frost Giants back into the heart of their own world. In the end, their king fell. And the source of their power was taken from them

The Casket of Ancient Winter was picked up from it's stand as the realm of Jotunheim began to crumble.

With the last great war ended, Jotunheim's queen, Laufette, was giving birth to her child...

Lightning striked as the crying of a baby was heard.

...but King Laufey saw the size of the bastard child as an insult of the dying breed and ordered an execution on the newborn

The baby in the blanket was casted through the cosmos before it landed on the ground in front of a forest. The child began to cry until a figure landed near the small thing and picked up the sack. Moving the sack from its face, it was the face of a baby. The figure was seen more clearly as a woman with giant wings and curled horns.

It was introduced to not only a woman, but a fairy. Her name was Maleficent, and she claimed the child as her own. She named the boy, Loki, which means "Ice Man"

There were flashbacks of the past events.

Over the years, Loki grew in a place of wonder. As he grew, so did his home. Until that fateful day when darkness took over him. His mother was lost to him at the hands of treacherous betrayal by a lover who claimed for greed. Filled with rage, Loki cursed the infant daughter, Silena, of his lover, now King. But over the years, he realized that he had grown fond of the princess, feeling an attraction that he knew not. A great battle took place upon the palace of Asgard as Loki killed the man he once loved. As the years passed, Loki had what he wanted in the world. Love and compassion. But that soon turned dark as his goddaughter was taken from him. Until Asgard had a new ruler, the wicked queen, Ravenna. She took Loki prisoner for ten years and he met a man. Not just any man. He was a huntsman. Eric was his name. The two felt a love that Loki never thought he would have again. His mother came to the light as she awakened from her rest. Together, they defeated Ravenna and her reign of darkness was vanquished. But, that was not the end of the sorceress...

The realm of Jotunheim showed as a dark cave came into view. A screaming voice came from the cave until the blood moon came over it. "Yes. Yes! I am free!", the female voice said as dark mist floated from the cave before it flew in the wind of the cold.

Meanwhile, in Asgard, Eric sat in his seat at a bar, drinking as usual before he heard the voice of his friend, Fandral come up behind him...
