Maleficent looked at her dwarven godson with such reassurance, she didn't move from her spot when she heard him speak to her. She gave a chuckling smile as the she-elf looked to the floor for a moment, looking like she was giving herself a moment of thought. "Saeril", she finally spoke to answer his question while looking back to him. "My name is Saeril", she said it again. "I have come out of the shadows to see you. In person. Since you've grown", the she-elf stood back up to her full height before turning to face him fully.

The she-elf blinked once when she saw him approach her a little, but they were only just a few feet apart. She didn't move, so she let Kili come to her, like a child approaching a wonderous thing. She felt light and hope when he didn't cower, and she kneeled herself down gracefully on her knees to reach his dwarven height.

"Yes, Kili. I'm your Delva", Maleficent confirmed with a reassuring smile like a mother thrilled see her child, and her smile turned sad. Tears of joy threatened to spill over from her eyes and she let Kili approach her. Fili watched on as he gave his brother an approving nod.

Maleficent watched the figure leave from the window with a relieving sigh before swiftly sheathing her dagger back into place at the back of her waist. She didn't face the two dwarves behind, and the last thing she wanted was to show them fear. She did communicate with them through gifts and letters, and she did visit them at night while they slept in their beds in the Blue Mountains. But to turn and face them, she was worried.

"Once you learn about my name, believe it", she answered in a soft voice as her eyes luminesced in the moonlight a little bit when slightly moved her to the side to gaze at the young dwarf. "Do you remember when you first found that bow?", she asked without moving. "In the woods? At a stream? Once you found it, you thanked me, although you couldn't see me", she finally turned to gaze at him. "It was your birthday"

"Two paces, march!", a solder called out as the others, now divided into two columns, obey the order. "About face!", the soldiers obey and turn, now facing each other, and Norrington makes his appearance at the end of the line. "Present arms!", they once more obeyed. The commodore walked between the two columns of soldiers, and he moves towards the presentation area where Governor Swann was waiting for him. With choreographed precision, Swann removes the sword and scabbard from its case and presents it to Norrington. Norrington accepts the sword, executes a flourishing salute, first to Swann, then to the officers, and to the audience.

Meanwhile, at a dock, the mystery woman made her way down, trying to cooly pass two marines who were on sentry duty. When she was about to saunter passed them, they were immediately alert, running up to block her path. "This dock is off-limits to civilians", one of them told her. "I’m terribly sorry, I didn’t know. If I see one, I shall inform you immediately", she cooly said with a hint of innocence in her accented voice as she tried to move around them, but they blocked her again. How was she going to do this? Now, she knew.

"Apparently there’s some sort of event up at the fort, right? How could it be that two upstanding gentlemen such as yourselves, did not merit an invitation?", she half-curiously asked them. "Someone has to make sure this dock stays off limits to civilians", the other marine responded to her. "And that's a fine goal, sweetheart, but it seems to me, a ship like that", she gestured to the Dauntless in the distance. "...makes this one a bit downgraded, really", she commented while gesturing to the Interceptor, perched at the dock.

"The Dauntless is the power in these waters. But there’s no ship that can match the Interceptor for speed", one of them said to her as he talked about the ship. "I’ve heard of one, supposed to be very fast, nigh uncatchable...the Fancy", she gave a breathed out the name. Clearly, they were confused. Not ringing a bell. "A ship with torn, black sails. Captained by a man, who's so evil, that hell itself spat him back out", she told them with grim in her eyes.

One of them scoffed. "No", he chuckled with amusement. "It's a real ship, you know", the other told him. "I've seen it. Black sails, it had", the other turned to him. "Oh? And no ship that's captained by a man so evil that hell itself spat him back out could possibly have black sails, therefore couldn't possibly be any other ship than the Fancy. Is that what you're saying?", he patronized him. None of them noticed the woman slipping past them unnoticed as they continued to argue. "No", he answered.

"Like I said, there’s no ship that match the Intercept..", he trailed off when he noticed that she wasn't there. Looking around, they spotted her standing at the wheel of the Interceptor, casually examining the mechanism. "Hey! You!", she looked over at them with exaggerated, innocent surprise. They hurried towards her and raised their guns at her. "Get away from there! You don't have permission to be aboard!", they told her. "I’m so sorry, it’s just...it’s such a pretty boat. I mean, ship", she innocently corrected.

"What's your name?", one of them asked. "Smith. Or Smithy, if you like", she responded casually. "What's your purpose in Port Royal? And no...lies", they demanded. She just smiled coyly with charm. "Alright. It is my intention to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise, pilfer my weasely black guts out", she answered with a bit of a ramble. "We said, no lies!", one of them told her. "Think she's telling the truth", the other said. "If she were telling the truth, she wouldn't have told us", the other argued. "Unless, you wouldn't believe the truth even if I told it to you", the mystery woman cut in as they seem to consider it.

After the ceremony, Commodore Norrington approaches Abigail, oblivious to her struggling. "May I have a moment?", he asked her while extending his arm, wordlessly asking her to take it. When she does, he walked her away from the party, toward the parapet of the fort wall. "I must admit, you look lovely, Abigail", he complimented her. "I apologize if I seem forward, but I must speak my mind"

"Fixation is what drives men into the mind of greed. Wouldn't that be you if you are the one hunting me?", Maleficent asked him before she heard a small creak behind her. Looking behind at the corner of her eye, she saw what she didn't think she would see. They were here...with her. Gandalf was right when he said so. Her guardian instincts were kicking in, now that protection was needed of her at the moment. Putting her eyes back on the figure, she relaxed her stature by the arm. "Leave us", she told him once more. "The beast that you look for, is neither in your sight. Try Dunland, I saw it there", she added with a calm tone in her voice without letting her weapon give up its place.

Fili had his large blade within his hand as he stayed where he was near the sleeping dwarves, while watching his younger brother approach the source of the noise. He could hear the chatter, but he didn't want to alert Thorin and the others with something that was a small problem. It would be best for them to keep quiet and listen, just to make sure that it was a threat or not. He shook his head to Kili as a message to not worry about the others, and keep going.

"A cursed one would stick to the shadows and not some bounty to those of greed", the she-elf told him in a calm, but strong voice that didn't condescend. Her yellow-green eyes luminesced in glimmer within the moonlight as her dagger was kept in place towards him. "Verify and confirm that you will know your place, and leave me", she told him in defense, clearly telling him that she prefers to be left alone. "A beast guards this place, and he has a foul taste in trespassers like yourself", Maleficent warned him after a growl was heard nearby. It was definitely that beast. He was indeed nearby...

As an only elf of Fangorn, Maleficent was of warrior material: agile and quick. Her elvish hearing and sight gave her the advantage to have a better chance at surviving battle with her choice of weaponry. So, hearing the rustling and the voice come in, she was quick to sheath one of her long combat daggers.

"I could hear you", she responded in her soft, distinct voice which had a small accent to it. She was at a ready stance while she twirled the blade in her hand at the source.

Unknowingly to her, the sheath and the drop of the bowl woke Fili. For him to be a light sleeper, he was on guard whenever his younger brother was near him. Protection was what his instinct was when it comes to his sibling. Lightly shaking Kili's shoulder, he had to cover the archer's mouth in order to silently tell him to keep quiet and listen. Voices...

Quietly, she walked further. Further she went, quietly with her light footing. Typical for an elf to possess, and it became good use during hunts with the advancement of stealth. With the area being nearly dark, and moon being the only light source, the Elven being nearly stumbled over a few objects until a bowl fell onto the ground. She had to wince at the small sound and she quickly put it back where it was before. Her eyes luminesed in the moonlight while putting it back.

Gandalf told her to meet him there. He said that clear enough for her to listen. Hearing the howls behind her, her wings gave in, and took her through the mountain. The howling of the warg was close, and she had to dodge trees to escape them. Almost there, she told herself, exhausted from her long flapping journey. She was lucky to wear the leather black catsuit, which helped her breath during the long travel, and her sight was to be blessed when she noticed the house before her, just standing there in the plain.

Still going through her flight, she was certain that Gandalf was there. He told her to meet him there, and she wasn't sure if the wizard ever told his Dwarven comrades about her. There are a lot of things that Gandalf the Grey can't say, and he was fixated on keeping things to himself before letting them unfold. Unpredictable. As she landed, her feathered wings folded behind her and miraculously shifted into a light-weight black cloak, which would drape over her catsuit. Releasing her horned headress, she let her hair down as she unlocked the hatch and walked in, quietly.

Everyone believed that Maleficent was born as a creature of chaos and pure evil, but they just do not know the true backstory. Rather than a woman who is evil, Maleficent was instead a benevolent young woman of purity named Saeril; she valued the peaceful nature on Middle-Earth, and she had a fierce passion of guarding various realms and its inhabitants. As a fierce protector, Saeril was a desired perfectionist, and a woman of her word; due to the despair and sorrow of even the most vulnerable of races, she focuses on finding the best intentions for them, even if it means to risk her life. As she suffers from a devastating past that involved the Deceiver's corruption upon her mind, Saeril is truly hurt and very lonely inside, interpreted by her amnesiac guilt for her crimes. Her ultimate goal was to redeem herself and dissipate her inner darkness.

However, she never anticipated this goal to be changed when she rekindled herself with her Dwarven godsons, Fili and Kili; she grew to care for them as a motherly figure, forming an adopted parental bond with them. Despite herself being closest to the youngest, Kili, Saeril was devastated after witnessing Azog kill the eldest brother, causing her to scream with raging grief, enough to unleash vengeance. Determined to keep the youngest from falling into the same fate, she became strictly protective of Kili. As his blessed godparent, Saeril would do anything to keep him alive, and as a result, she went with him in many ventures, though she did not always agree with them. Regarding him, her main goal was to keep him safe, therefore Saeril's bond with Kili was unbreakable.

Saeril will not hesitate on giving others her blunt opinion, and she would often guide them when they are upset, or in need of advice. Proud and proper she was, she will never bow to anyone she disagreed with. Evident by her relationship with Thorin Oakenshield, it's complicated when it comes to terms of trust; she betrayed him (as he claimed) by revealing the truth of the quest, and by "stealing" the starlight jewels from his treasure hoard for King Thranduil. Although she was claimed as not "trusting", Saeril openly showed that she cared a great deal for him, saving his life multiple times on different occasions.
