Snow begins to fall in the pitch black screen, and the Magic Mirror shows itself.

What does the Mirror show you? What do you see?

The Magic Mirror slowly zooms in as images of battle came into view upon it...

An oft-told tale, that of the Prince of the Moors; how he vanquished the evil queen

The Magic Mirror shows images of Queen Ravenna and Loki in their final battle...her dagger being blocked while striking down, just before he stabbed her with his sword...

But, there is another story, one you have not seen. One that comes long before "happily ever after"...

A warm fire showed in the background as the whole scene came into view: a chess piece moving forward, a pawn. Queen Ravenna and her latest husband play their game of life and death in chess, until she places a finger upon the king piece. "A queen takes a king", she darkly said to him until beginning to put pressure on the piece's top, making a red liquid form around it. Ironically, her husband made a gasp of pain upon a pain in his chest. Ravenna leaned forward towards him, "And you thought this was a game", she whispered before tipping over the king's piece. She let go and sauntered her way towards the mirror. A thud sounded in the background: the king falling over, dead.

With the Mirror at her command, Queen Ravenna was invincible. She took her kingdom as she had taken others before it. And, she would take others again, and again. With her sister, Freya, at her side...

Sitting at a chess table, the two sisters play their game, until Ravenna moves the rook aside, making an easy path for her little sister to win her king. "Easy path, little sister. Take it", the eldest encouraged her. She always let her win...
Loki Laufeyson Malefison

"I am Loki of the Moors, and I rule this place under my mother's name."

- Loki addressing himself to Diaval in "The Man With Horns"

The saga's titular protagonist, Loki is the Jotun-Faerie prince of the Moorland, the adopted son of Harmonia, the proclaimed godfather of Princess Silena, and the life-companion of Eric Odinson. Also known as the "Fairest of Them All", Loki was most renowned for his leading role in defeating the corrupted Asgardian King Thor, and the evil Corvid sorceress Ravenna, with his courage and innate purity.

Eric Odinson

“When the hour is darkest, I will fight, with the bravest, the fairest, of them all.”

- Eric narrating about Loki in "The Raven King"

Eric, often called 'The Huntsman', was the original Half-Asgardian, Half-Jotun son of the Allfather, and the Frost Giantess, Jord. The saga's deuteragonist, Eric is a former warrior of Queen Freya's army, and a close companion of Loki Malefison, whom he aided in defeating the Corvid sorceress Ravenna. The identical twin of the Asgardian deity, Thor, and the seventh royal descendant of Buri, Eric was also the foster son of the Light ElvenKing Thranduil, and the uncle of Princess Silena.

Silena Thordottir (Odinson)

"I know who you are. You've been watching over me, my whole life. Your shadow's been following me, ever since I was small."

- Silena to Loki in "The Man With Horns"

Princess Silena, or just simply 'Silena', was the royal Asgardian daughter of King Thor Odinson and Queen Sif. As the saga's second deuteragonist, Silena played the part as the niece of Eric the Huntsman, as well as the proclaimed goddaughter of Loki Malefison, whom she aided in defeating her father, as well as the evil sorceress, Ravenna.

Queen Freya

"You will train. You will become my elite. You will become my Huntsmen."

- Freya to the kidnapped children in "The War Of Winter"

Freya, mostly renowned to as 'The Ice Queen', is a powerful cryo-sorceress, as well as one of the saga's antagonists and anti-heroines. The third-born daughter of an unknown mother, Freya was the younger sister of the Corvid sorceress Ravenna, and the usurping ruler of Alfheim.

Ravenna

"I will give this wretched world the queen it deserves.”

- Ravenna to Loki during the final battle in "The Raven King"

Ravenna, also known as 'The Evil Queen', was a dangerously powerful Corvid witch, who appears as one of the primary antagonists in the saga. Being the arch-nemesis of Loki Malefison, she is the eldest sibling of Finn and Freya, and also the widow of King Balder Odinson. Originally, due to her great physical beauty, Ravenna was regarded as being the "Fairest of Them All", but after learning that Loki surpassed her as "fairest", Ravenna becomes determined in consuming his heart, in order to maintain her power and eternal youth.

Long before Loki raised his blade, there was another story that took place.

After the evil Queen Ravenna killed another king in the cosmos with her deadly magic, she ruled over his kingdom with the power of the Magic Mirror, along with her sister, Freya, by her side. After noticing her sister in love with the Duke of Blackwood, Ravenna recalls that her sister was pregnant, which Freya herself did not know. As she tells Freya that love was a weakness, Freya reassures that love can have surprising outcomes. However, as Ravenna continues to warn her sister, Freya angrily tells her that she doesn't know everything before leaving the room, unaware that Ravenna looked upon the Magic Mirror, saying that she does.

Sometime later, Freya and the Duke marry in secret, and gave birth to a daughter. But, one night, as she was lured away from the palace, Freya finds her daughter's room on fire from afar, and rushes to her crib, only to find it burnt, and the Duke stating that he had no choice. Betrayed, Freya screams in sorrow, and unintentionally unleashes her ice powers, turning the Duke into an ice statue, shattering it, before collapsing at where she stood. Ravenna manages to catch her sister as she fell, and notices her transformation of having white hair, pale skin, and icy blue eyes.

In her grief, Freya left the kingdom and went to the north towards the kingdom of Alfheim, where a young boy was being trained by the Light Elves. As he was training, a young boy with raven-black hair walked to the training grounds in curiosity by himself. He catches sight of the young Eric, and witnesses him shoot an arrow at the target. Eric catches the boy watching, and they gaze at each other. They don't speak, but gazed at one another. The raven-haired boy knew that he wasn't allowed in the training area, but Eric walks towards him instead. As he does, the young boy runs away, thinking that he was in trouble. Eric seems confused, but he wondered.

Later that day, Freya forces the ElvenKing Thranduil to retreat from his throne, usurping his position as queen, while her soldiers abducted dozens of children from the race of Men, and enslaved them, including Eric. Taking them into her ice fortress, she reassures them that she will free, train, and teach them to harden their hearts to love, stating that love was a weakness.

For many years, the children spent their days training in combat to become Freya's personal huntsmen. Her two most exceptional fighters were Eric, and another female warrior named Sara. As they reach into adulthood, Eric ages into a tough and humble warrior, along with Sara, and soon falls in love with her. From her palace, Freya watches as they defy her one rule, and summons a devastating freeze of frost, causing the whole kingdom to freeze over. Eric tries to keep Sara away from the freeze, but she demands him to leave. Devastated, Eric watches the freeze cause her body to become pale, before frost forms, freezing her to death. As soon as she does, the storm breaks away, leaving a motionless Sara in Eric's arms as he grieves.

A year after Ravenna's demise, and a week after the War of the Realms, Eric awakens from the nightmare of his past, panting as he realizes that he was still inside the small, treehouse-like cabin that he, his niece, and his new life companion, Loki, built in the Home Tree of the Moors. Relieved to see the fully grown Silena still sleeping in a separate room, across from the room he shared with Loki, Eric covers the Jotun with the silky blanket until it reached his shoulder, unaware that Loki was awake the whole time, as he continued to stare at the locket his mother left for him.

The next day, Loki watches from the sidelines as Eric starts teaching Silena in combat training, until Queen Frigga's handmaiden, Fulla, rides up to them on a horse. She gives Eric what looks like a letter, presenting an invite from the Light Elves for the Winter Festival at their realm. They agree on going to this kind of event, and when they get there, they reunite with the ElvenKing Thranduil and Prince Legolas. As the festivities go on, Silena asks her godfather for a dance, to which he accepts. It was all a joyful time until the king's marchwarden leader, Haldir, reports that the Magic Mirror, which was being transported by the Light Elves from Asgard on Frigga's request, was stolen while en route to the deepest part of Alfheim, after the retrieving soldiers seemingly "killed each other". Odd and strange to hear such news, Thranduil talks to the three guardians in private about the mirror, and requests them to retrieve it for him, where it will be safe from going into the wrong hands.

After the festival that night, Loki has a recollection with Silena in her own room as they talk about their past memories together, until he almost lets out his problem to her. She doesn't hear the whole thing as she was getting ready for bed behind a screen, but luckily, Loki brushes it off, telling her to not worry about it. A few cuddles and laughs the two had, while Eric listens to the conversation behind the door, outside the room.

Bidding her goodnight, Loki doesn't see his life companion while exiting, and spends his time alone at one of the water springs outside within the moonlight, sitting inside it on one of the spring steps. As he thinks back to the time of Boromir's death, it continues to haunt him as he continues to be afraid of his Jotun side. Cuddling into himself, Loki didn't notice Eric approaching the spring, having to find Loki rolled into a ball. Concerned, he joins him, until Loki brushes off the conversation, and gives Eric the same necklace that he once gave to Thor, telling him to never take it off as long as they were together. However, they were unaware of a white owl seemingly observing their conversation, as a woman in the distance looked through a white mask, which projected her consciousness into the white owl, allowing her to watch their every move.

That same night, Loki has a nightmare about his Jotun heritage, as he witnesses all the bad things it could do: cause destruction, give Silena painful frostbite, and cause Eric to freeze to death. As he struggles within the dream, he is suddenly reassured by a vision of the goddess, Harmonia, before he awakens, with Eric already coming to his side. Again, Loki brushes it off, too scared to admit anything to him, leaving Eric a bit too concerned for his companion's well-being.

The next day, Eric and Loki, teamed with Silena and Legolas, reluctantly set off to find the Mirror deep in Alfheim, until they stop to see the death site of the retrieving Elven soldiers, upon discovering that the Mirror was missing from the site. Investigating, Eric finds one of the swords covered in tar, while Loki spots a protruding object sticking out from one of soldiers: a strange, bronze-covered dagger with a diamond inside. Not sure of what they were looking at, they go to a tavern and ask the owner about the strange massacre, until they were approached and threatened by a group of other huntsmen. As they attack and mock Eric, Loki finally saw enough, and screams in rage, unintentionally summoning a razor-sharp ice trail upon the attackers, freezing and shattering them. For conjuring such an attack, the Jotun's rage continues to keep his magical energy aflame, until Silena's affection manages to calm him down. Later that night, Loki finally manages to confess to Eric about his problem, and Eric finally gets to confess about his own: his Jotun heritage.

The next day, the quartet walks through the woods until they suddenly get ensnared in a trap laid out by the dwarves, Dwalin and Kili. Silena begins to bicker with them, but Eric manages to break them up until they manage to convince them to help find the Mirror. The group reaches the deepest part of Alfheim, until the goblins, who possess the Magic Mirror, attack. Silena, Legolas, Dwalin, and Kili manage to retrieve the Mirror, while Loki and Eric took care of the attacking goblins. However, as they retreated, they are ambushed by the Ice Queen, Freya, and her legion of huntsmen. She confronts them, as Loki has never seen her before, and forces them to fight against her "children" separately, and go back to each other. However, as they refused, she turns Dwalin and Kili into ice statues, and once again, threatens that Legolas and Silena will be next as they were being held captive. With no choice, they succeed into completing her challenge, but as they were about to go back to each other, Freya creates a massive ice wall to separate them from each other before enchanting an illusion for Loki to see through the ice wall: Silena, Legolas, and Eric running away (even though they really didn't). Feeling betrayed and enraged, Loki feels the same anger he felt when Thor betrayed him, while Eric is knocked out by one of the Huntsmen on the other side. Freya, feeling his heart turn cold, convinces the Jotun to join her before departing with the Mirror and the ice statues, unaware of Silena and Legolas tending to Eric on the other side of the wall. An hour later, Eric manages to awaken and discover that Loki was missing.

Meanwhile, at the ice fortress in the North, Freya takes Loki within the throne room, until he discovers what looks like a crib, made of ice. He asks her what the crib was for, with her responding that it was none of his concern, leaving him to wonder. As Freya approaches the Mirror, already hung on the wall, she recites a spell, causing a golden liquid to emerge and transform into Ravenna, who reveals that she sent her spirit into the Mirror before her life was taken, while sitting on Freya's throne, leaving the younger sister suspicious of her sibling's intentions. Upon noticing Loki, Ravenna was suddenly stopped by her sister, before she could make any damage. The Jotun remained near Freya, in hopes to not make it worse for himself.

Meanwhile, Eric infiltrates the icy kingdom to go after Freya, while Legolas and Silena proceed to find the gallery room, where all of the ice statues are held.

Inside, Freya gives a speech for all her huntsmen, while Ravenna stood near the throne. Upon one of the higher levels, Eric attempts to shoot his crossbow at Freya, but the arrow was stopped by the hand of Loki, fully fledged in his armor. He greets Eric in a mocking, cold manner before throwing the arrow back at him, just for him to move out of the way in the nick of time. Eric was then restrained by the fellow huntsman, and because of Ravenna's wishes, the Ice Queen sentences him to death, since he was a traitor. While being brought before the throne, Eric tries to convince a few huntsmen, even Loki, about the love of family. This leaves the Jotun mentally conflicted for a moment, and watches as Eric was forced to his knees. However, conflicted he was, his thoughts began to race. Eric looks at him with desperate eyes, and manages to tell him that he was tricked. Loki sees the figure of Harmonia watching him, and one sight of her reminded him of what he was doing. Right before the sword was dropped upon Eric, the blade instead breaks off the chain, as the Huntsmen join forces with him, claiming the love of brethren.

After this, Ravenna gets angered and kills many of the huntsmen with her magic, until Freya forms a massive ice wall between the huntsmen and the three beings. While the remaining huntsmen try climb over the wall, the two sisters argue over the icy kingdom, with Loki listening. That was until Ravenna recklessly implies that she's the one who drove the weakness out of Freya. The little sister asks on how she did so. Ravenna tries to dismiss the subject by walking away, but Freya angrily demands her on what she did, before cupping the sides of her sister's face to read her mind, unaware that Loki unintentionally joined into the touch. Managing to see Ravenna curse the Duke of Blackwood into murdering Freya's child, Loki and Freya break away from the connection, before he rips the helmet off of himself, letting it clatter on the floor. Now knowing that Freya's actions were caused by the claimed weakness of love, he now understands that Freya forced him and Eric to separate, just because the Ice Queen was under the belief of knowing love as a weakness.

Freya, filled with anger at this discovery, turns against her sister, and joins forces with Eric, Loki, and the remaining huntsmen, as soon as they made it over the wall, before it crumbled. Silena suddenly joins in the fight, until Ravenna grabbed her by the neck. Legolas manages to save her, just before Ravenna could consume her beauty. To keep them busy, Ravenna summons the glass warriors to attack the elf prince, Silena, and the remaining huntsmen. As the chaos ensues, Freya gets fatally wounded, just until Loki and Eric go head to head with the sorceress. As Eric asks him if he is ready for this, Loki confirms, before they advanced. As they battle it out, the wounded Freya manages to send an ice trail towards the Mirror to freeze it, and as Eric throws his axe at it, the mirror shatters, destroying Ravenna's spirit, and she shatters. Just as the sorceress was defeated, the glass soldiers dissipate. As she dies, Freya apologizes to Loki for what she has done to him, before succumbing to her wounds. The ice statues melt in the gallery as Dwalin and Kili unfreeze from their cryonic sleep.

Leaving the icy fortress, the five are approached by Thranduil, and are tended of their wounds while the ElvenKing takes back his throne. Later, one night, in the training courtyard, Eric was strolling about inside, until he was surprised by a dagger to his throat, knowing that it was Loki. Eric puts the figure's back against the wall, telling him that he forgot about balance. Loki removes the dagger from his throat before a kiss is shared between them. However, they were unaware of a mysterious golden bird watching them as it flies overhead, hinting that possibly Ravenna's spirit still lives...
Saeril was sitting behind Kili as they followed Thorin and the rest of the company. The ponies weren't running, but trotted. A much easier case of movement for their supplies they were carrying. The she-elf too held the reigns that Kili held, although their hands were just inches apart from each other. She didn't notice they were being followed, but she did know that the Orc pack was not far behind.

Why? This link between you and me, is the same with Fili and myself. Since I am your main source for this link, you two can communicate with me separately, but not with each other alone. Think of it as an incomplete triangle, she lightly joked on the last sentence while their pony moved.

((Thought I could make this a small glimpse of my other OC. Care to extend as Thorin?))

POWERS AND ABILITIES

After being buried under Erebor's tremendous treasure for sixty years, and after being bound to its dense, ductile metal, Erfëa became an extremely dangerous, and powerful sorceress with an unlimited arsenal of magical powers, attributed from her status as an entity of the kingdom's golden treasure.

Magic
~ Gold Manipulation/Conjuration/Detection
Erfëa developed the ability to manipulate the elemental substance of gold, conjuring it in whatever form she desires, be either a solid, or a liquid. In solid form, she was able to conjure golden spikes and shoot them as projectiles. In liquid form, she was liquified when she left a gold mirror before taking shape. As an entity of gold, Erfëa is also able to sense the nearby presence of gold, whether or not if it's hidden, or missing, giving her the upper hand of detecting thieves.

~ Illusion Manipulation
The only psionic-based power that Erfëa possesses, is her ability to create and manipulate high-level mental illusions within the minds of others, in order to make her victims experience traumatic hallucinations, or visions, while they fall into a trance-like state. This power was evident as she forced it upon Thorin Oakenshield after he fell into the Dragon Sickness, in order to make him come to his senses, though the nature of it was not entirely up to her. So nightmarish these visions are, Erfëa was able to elicit emotional pain, or fear, within the person as it shows their certain fears, regrets, or general disturbances. She’s also able to know what her victim is seeing, being inside the vision with them, seemingly invisible.

PERSONALITY

“You cannot steal from here! I have been given powers that not even you could fathom, and you will show me mercy!"
- Erfëa shouting angrily to Bilbo Baggins, while he searches for the Arkenstone

Likes: Gold, Playing Chess, The Forge, Mirrors.
Dislikes: Greed, Conflict, Thieves, Fire-Drakes, The Arkenstone.

Mental and Physical Strengths:
-Magic
-Heat
-Fighting
-Strong-Will
-Beauty
-Inspiration
Mental and Physical Weaknesses:
-Thorin II Oakenshield
-Cold Temperatures

Fears: Losing The Mountain, Extinction of Durin's Folk, Gold-Lust.

Overall Personality: Erfëa is a beautiful, strong willed, trusted treasurer, and one of the greatest royalty advisors of the Lonely Mountain, if not Middle Earth. She gives great faith in her wielding of considerable power and influence, and others have pointed out that no one, other than Saeril, has gained influence faster than the witch herself. While dreaming of building something lasting, in order for Erebor to stay self-sufficient, Erfëa is a woman who is very much driven by her passions. In this, she is the opposite of the seemingly cool-natured she-elf, Saeril. Despite her stern nature, Erfëa demonstrates a vulnerable side whenever she recalls anything that involves her past memories, before the dragon attacked - a recollection that actually reduces her to tears: Her warm love and assurance for her younger sister, Nimwen, and her close friend, Thorin II Oakenshield. As she shows a close and constant companionship with Thorin, their relationship was to the extent where he once commented that the game of chess was pointless, because of Erfëa always letting him win. For this friendship, and for her position, Erfëa was well-aware of the atrocities within the Durin bloodline, to an extent of learning about the family's urge for gold-lust; the one reason of the kingdom's financial advisor: to keep this urge at bay. Given the apparent use of objections she raised that regarded Thorin, it could be deduced that Erfëa fears for the future of the kingdom, as well as the royal family themselves.
"If you uphold something, you uphold it with honor. Do it constantly, you get more of it", Killian mumbled before holding the paper in front of him. "Yet I'm the one standing here with a prize", he began to read from the papers aloud. "Full pardon, commission as a privateer on behalf of Asgard and the hand of Lord Algrim", he read before folding it. Unknown to him, Eomur was listening on the conversation while he was leaning against one of the ship's pillars. "As if I could be bought for such a low price", Killian added to himself after folding the paper for the third time. He extended his coat and placed the paper in one of its inside pockets.
The Commodore had his back to the girl as he traced the path of the parapet on the fort's wall. "Your cousin has grown into a fine, young woman. A beautiful one. As I thought about what I would say, it would be rude and disrespectful if I didn't ask you, since I found both of you rather close", he turned his upper body to her. "Abigail, Elizabeth is a fine woman. I would like to ask you if I could offer her my hand", he finally said.
Killian kept the paper in view for the two men to see it, and he made a disgusted, revolted face after hearing that it was signed by the lord himself. "Agh", he simply responded in a disgusted manner. "Captain, while we were in the Dwarven realm, my ears keep picking up words that go with this: chest and compass. They're after your navigating device, captain", the warrior concluded to his leading comrade while crossing his arms. "A truly discomforting notion", the captain muttered aloud, not really showing any worry to the tone of his voice. "If the Dark Elves get the chest, they will control the seas", the warrior added to him. "Bad. It's bad for all of us. Brace the foreyard!", he shouted before walking away. "Hmm", Killian simply said to himself, thinking.
You're wondering how I read your thought? Well, little Kili, I am an elf of Fangorn, a blessed one. I'm linked to you, mentally and emotionally, same with your brother. If you are ever lost, just say my name in your head. I'm not leaving you. That, I can promise

Saeril lightly chuckled before answering to her godson's confusion. He was indeed young, too young, in fact, to understand the world around him. Not as much as Fili does, afraid so. This was the reason why Saeril had to keep at least two eyes on him, instead of one. Instead of both of them, it was him she had to double her sight on. Being reckless, wild, and naive, Kili was no well-mannered dwarf. Never was. His mindset was of a child, and no matter how much he has grown, he was always one. Emotional, too. Cries like a child, laughs like a child, and simply, thinks like a child. As far as she knew, Kili was, overall, the not-so-serious type, nor a patient one. He looks for fun, and acts on it. No wonder why he was hard to handle for the rest of the family. That, she chuckled at.

"We will be taking the Elvenroad. Their path is much safer", Gandalf added to Beorn's warning. "Safe? The elves of Mirkwood are not like their kin. They're less wise, and more dangerous", the skinchanger advised to the wizard until he stood up. "I don't like dwarves; they're greedy, and blind. But Orcs, I hate more", he looked to Thorin. "What do you need?", he asked the Dwarven Prince, curiously.

Ponies were what they needed most, and soon, they earned them. "Bring them back to me when you reach the forest. Hurry, the Orc pack is not far behind", Beorn told them as the company hoisted themselves upon the horses, whom Saeril helped, because of the size difference. She put her horned headdress back on before perching herself upon Kili's horse, behind him.
Patience, young Kili, I hope your brother taught you that. Adventure is ahead of you, and I will be there, but now, let's not have any grudges between me and your kin

Saeril's soft voice sounded without her lips moving, although her luminous green-yellow eyes trailed to him. Yes, since she was blessed to both brothers, there was now a mind-link with them, although she knew that they couldn't communicate with between each other the same way. She was emotionally-linked to both Fili and Kili, meaning she could feel their emotions, hear their thoughts, see their memories, whatever she was accessed to inside their heads, but the brothers can't link with each other alone. If either one of them falls, the elf bonded to them can have an emotional change, making them grimmer and imbalanced. This was certainly the reason why the Fangorn Elves were tasked to protect them.

"She will be joining us for this quest", the wizard sounded in the background, which made the Dwarf prince sigh in annoyance. Another elf. It had to be one of the people who betrayed his grandfather. "You need to reach mountain before the last days of Autumn", Beorn recalled over them. "You are running out of time", he added to them. "Which is way we must go through Mirkwood", Gandalf responded the ski changer, which made Saeril frown at hearing such a place. "That forest lies in the deepest part. Foul things creep beneath those trees. I would not venture there, unless in great need", Beorn warned him with grim in his rough voice.
