All I ask is that people communicate these things.
@Thecrash20 That is largely what I was thinking most characters would have, though I don't really consider that a 'power' in the typical sense, y'know? I guess in terms of powers I was more thinking of like, super strength, super speed type deals for certain characters. Like, Grognak just straight up wouldn't work if he wasn't super strong, or a Supermutant as the case may be in this RP.
On top of that, I think every character kind of has to have something special about them, whether it's a piece of gear that only they really know how to use, insane physical attributes, or specialized training of some kind, because without that, they're not really Superheroes, are they? At that point, they're just dudes in costumes waiting to get geeked.
I'm assuming this is basically going to be Wasteland Whisperer/Animal Friend taken to a new level.
I like that idea.
Yes. I made the original character for a RP set sort of around Fallout 4 year, so I rewrote some lore of the beastlords. They were such an interesting chance for their own revival in F3 or even F4 and it was never brought up. It's one of my favorite factions in the older games and decided to bring them back in my own way.
The young Norwegian boy wasn’t too hard to spot, with his signature jacket. Brightly colored blue, with a floral print on it, many would wonder why he would choose such a jacket for himself. Not that he himself has a personality to mind, he wears it as the proud gift of being accepted into the Ascher family. He often pairs it with starkly contrasting dark clothing, dark blues or blacks. Often midnight blue shirts and black fitted pants. His hair blonde, cut short in a bob, and sometimes cut shorter than that. His hair is often neat, and straight. His skin white, with slight peachy tones to it. His irises an aquamarine, often appearing either brightly green in some light or brightly blue in other light. Despite his Norwegian traits, he has a Londoners standard accent, his voice is husky, and fair. With a middle range tone that isn’t too deep, but isn’t too light.
He stands at 5’6”, 167cms, and is slightly underweight at 110lbs, 49kg, he’s a bit on the leaner thin side with boney features. Slender fingers and pointy elbows, they are often features missed when he wears his jacket as it is slightly bigger than him.
“Let’s take this nice and easy, and preferably air on the side of caution.”
Personality:
Shayne is a very mild mannered individual, while some would say his narrow eyes and deadpan restless face make him unapproachable. They soon discover a very approachable individual, who is clear and concise. Friendly, though not overly friendly, Shayne is a patient, easygoing individual considering what he has been through in his life. He is like everybody’s older brother, often gentle, kind, wise beyond his years and offering advice. There’s a slight self sacrificial individual hidden inside of him, who would give himself up to protect someone else.
For the most part he’s a good planner and likes to think ahead. He is often preparing for events and is well organized. He doesn’t like going in and tackling a problem without a solution. He often insist others have a plan before simple executing an action. Shay is not the type of person to budge unless he knows someone has a solid working plan.
A reasonable individual who likes to dissect all sides of the story. Despite these many positive flaws, Shay can be stubborn and hard to convince, especially since he is hindered by his inability to try new things. Shay has a crippling fear of doing things outside of the norm or what he finds comfortable to do. It takes a lot of encouragement and pushing to convince Shay to do something he otherwise wouldn’t do. It can be a bit aggravating to deal with at times, though Shay is trying to work on it. He’s not sitting in a bubble of unawareness and not trying to work on his habits. Else he wouldn’t be in the Philippines in the first place.
Shay can also be described as too safe. He’s not the type of person to take a bunch of unnecessary risk. And often the only time he takes any sort of risk is if the others in his life are in danger. Beyond that Shay will always nine times out of ten choose the safer option.
Analytical and clear minded, it’s hard to upset Shay or make him angry in anyway. He’s respectful and while he may have trouble accepting failure, he at least takes failure with grace. He likes animals, his bedroom. He dislikes the color green and dislikes doing dangerous things or well things he perceives as dangerous. Or could potentially lead to danger.
Hobbies:
Compilation Films - while Shay me a slight agoraphobic when it comes to certain things, he has picked up some skills and habits of his new family. His older brother in fact taught Shay how to record his own film, while Shay taught himself how to edit the films. He creates compilation films, often set to music he has chosen.
Listening to Music - It's something that seems to put his mind elsewhere, he'll be often seeing walking in a new environment with earplugs in his ears. It helps him not so easily freak out about his new environments.
Singing - Shay's got a pretty decent singing voice, if he doesn't have earphones, than he is singing to himself. At times. It's not an often thing for fear of looking embarrassing.
Organizing his planner - Another thing that helps Shay feel more comfortable about his environment or trying new things is going over and organizing his planner.
Skills:
Composing - Shay is a decent singer and writes and compose his own music. It's not what he listens to as a personal hobby, but it's something Shay finds he's particularly good at.
Photography - While his older brother taught him how to record his own films, Shay found himself more interested in still imagery and can be seen snapping photos on his phone. He's no professional, but he makes quality decent photographs.
Organizing - Shay is a decent organizer, it's something he prefers to do. Organizing and designing a plan is what Shay likes to do. Not only does it ease his own anxiety, it just helps him get a clear image of what to do next in his head.
Navigation - Shay is pretty good at navigating his surroundings. Perhaps its something he started doing so he knew where and how to escape a scenario. But Shay's got a pretty good idea of where he is.

History:
They say that out of tragedy something beautiful can emerge, so then was Shay a flower who bloomed from the ashes of a fire? Life did not start off warm and loving, it started for Shay cold, and unloving. In a small city in a town with long winters, an unnamed woman grew bitterness and resentment inside. See she was alone when she gave birth to a baby with an H name. This baby was not the love or the joy of her life. Instead it were where her resentment and bitterness grew. Alone and disgusted by this parasite that came from her. She took longer to feed it, when it cried for food. She took longer to get up when it cried to be held up. Eventually longer turned to hate. Eventually hate turned to revulsion. And revulsion eventually turned to neglect.
At the tender age a child should be starting school, making friends, and forming an identity. A H name boy was locked in a bedroom, with just his toys, windows blocked out, and no contact with the outside world. And only her hateful spite or her paranoia were the words he heard behind the door. No I love yous. No tender kisses. No hugs. Just a black room. Just a black room for many years. No happy birthdays. No birthday parties. Sometimes you could hear other children from the window. But none could see H and H could not see them.
How could anything beautiful come from such a tragedy? One day this woman’s home went from black to orange. As their apartment caught on fire. H might have died then, but he came back a different person. The Aschers’ would say that it’s a miracle he has been able to conquer his tragedy, but without that fire, no one would have discovered H that day.
When H died, the Aschers’ discovered a Shayne. There was Muther Lucy Ascher, there was Father Bernard Ascher, an older sister Emilia Ascher, and an older brother Bentley Ascher. He was the baby brother, the baby Ascher. His name was Shayne, now.
Shayne was nine he had no sense of the world beyond the one he heard from the black window. He had never experienced a I love you. Nor had he experienced the freedom of an open door. He came upon a big home in London, that looked more like a castle compared to the small apartment he knew some time ago. A house in a suburban neighborhood, with brick walls and a garden with flowers growing with all kinds of colors and smells. A house with portraits. Pictures of the family on the beach. Camping. In the forest. Going to school. Knick knacks. Warmth. Stimulation.
All of these things overwhelmed him only knowing one dark space. When they gave Shayne his room, they told him he could decorate it anyway he wanted. He didn’t know what that meant. All he knew was a room. A sanctuary. Shayne locked himself up in a room for a whole week because the outside world was overwhelming to him.
Lucy was patient with him. She spoke softly to him while he sat in his room. She was warming and kind. She encouraged him come out of the room one night to have dinner with the family. Bernard was musical. He showed Shayne music and taught him how it could sound the way we feel. He connected to Shayne through the music they felt.
Emilia and Bentley picked up after their parents. Emilia had Shayne help her with the garden. While Bentley included him in his film work. Slowly it seemed Shayne worked his way out of his shell around the family. Not afraid of the house meant to be a sanctuary.
Steps is what it seems little Shayne needed. To work up steps. First it was just a few blocks down the road, then it was to the corner store, then it was inside the corner store. Lucy worried public schooling would be too much for Shayne considering he was scared of their home began to home school him. Eventually also homeschooling her two other children Emilia and Bentley alongside Shayne.
It seemed with a lot of time devoted. A lot of tender love and care. A lot of encouragement. Shayne was able to work himself up to at least leaving his neighborhood to the corner store, to the little cities in England, as long as it was a place he was comfortable with Shayne began to slowly begin to crawl out of the darkness in his heart. To the stranger on the streets, he’s just an ordinary kid, they don’t know the many steps it took for him to be that ordinary kid walking on a busy street road. They also don’t know the kid who seeks safety may experience one bad moment and revert back to hiding in his room.
So, when the family decided to go to the Philippines this year as the yearly family vacation of course his very first reaction was to let the rest of the family go without him. The safety of his room more enticing than a terrible experience in a world he doesn’t know. But after a few vivid dreams and a calling to the Philippines, he took the literal step of going outside of somewhere he has never been. Lucy of course cheered him on. Bernard proudly nodded. Emilia planned the shops they would visit. Bentley planned for a photoshoot. As long as he were with them, then perhaps it wouldn’t be so bad.
I don't think my vision is as set as you might think. Other than the two masters, the concept of two occasionally clashing teams, and some of the villains... I actually haven't sat down and ironed much else out yet. I still don't know what all worlds I want to use except for like two or three. If it changes anything, I can tell you that both Cormack and Viper have ventured out and "scouted out talent" so to speak. They'll have ways of detecting when a new Keyblade Wielder is chosen and can seek them out to offer them training and whatnot. So if you wanted to go that route you totally could. That would also give you more free reign to have your character come from a bigger variety of worlds or walks of life.
I've had to take the time to think about it and to be honest, I don't think it's going to work out between us. The way you treated the other member made me air on the side of caution. Your hostility, while you have apologized for it now about what happened last night makes me think it could happen again.
And I feel heavily restricted by the premise of this RP, more so than I initially thought I was. I couldn't really come up with a history for X that compelled me as a writer. I didn't necessarily want to go the orphan route, but I honestly just don't know where to go or where I can go with your world. It seems you have a set vision of this world in your mind, so it makes it very hard for me to wiggle around your vision and what would interest me as a player.
I been RPing for near twenty or so years, and I have a lot of characters under my belt so I have to design a character that will both fit the world of the GMs, but be compelling enough for me to be motivated to carry on. While I loved X's personality and appearance and like the idea of him, I thought orphan was too generic, and I am drawing a blank on where I could go in your world. As I explained before in a PM, I like a GM who offers ideas, engages with their members, someone who bounces ideas, and gets excited about others characters.
So those are my thoughts and I felt like giving an explanation. Now I'd love to work something out with you, but I am not going to force it either. It also didn't help I was trying to design X and something happened to me at my home that was very stressful to deal with. So I had to leave the Discord in order to calm down and think about things.
