If you're not trying to romance the Pokemon, what's the fucking point?

Can't help but read 'woah' as a regular 'wuh', but 'whoa' as a deep, masculine 'HOO-AH!'

That's patently untrue. I planted some potassium the other day, and no matter how much I watered it, all I got was explosions.

According to the IRC, I'm a low-grade troll. They're probably not wrong.

Furthering one's political education is always worth making a thread for, right?

Here's some interesting stuff I've found lately on the US 'Deep State,' the (theorised?) loose network of cooperation between the military-industrial complex, oil companies, Wall Street and intelligence agencies that relies on parliamentary politics for money and legitimacy.

Anatomy of the Deep State (just what it says on the tin, doesn't put all that much emphasis on party lines)

Situational Assessment 2017: Trump Edition (a predictive look at the US culture war as reflected in and influenced by politics; Uses extended metaphor, has elements of 'buy my book' at the end)

Donald J. Trump and the Deep State (a two-part, quite specific look at individual characters and groups in the global deep state and their connection to Trump and other parts of the US system, relies on a whole lot of citations which I didn't check)

Anything you guys want to recommend to the ol' reading list (or any criticisms of these suggestions so far)?
@Muttonhawk Far too symmetrical. Too Toun. But the lights make it very Raka too
What is that place though? Is it some palace? Quite breathtaking

Edit: It could equally be Teknall though, given that it is a building after all. And Jvan, on the symmetry point.

If Jvan built that, it would be made of human corneas, melted down and delicately dyed in the colour of the eyes they once protected. They no longer move, but you can still feel their gaze, all through the building. Watching.
How did we turn a naked people club joke into a semi serious discussion?

As I recall, Vestec actually has a magical army of naked people named after Lifprasil's general, created as a joke with Astarte.

Canon.
They better get dressed.

Other than Belvast, he's a cat.
And Lazarus, she's a bird thing.
And Keriss, she's a lizard.

But they still don't get to join the club.

I notice you didn't mention Jvan in that list, so I guess it's time to bring this back.

@Muttonhawk Toun is dressed?!!?

Only on Thursdays.
You know, I speculated that more colourful Galbaric societies would put paintings and such on local white giants. It stands to reason that at least a few would have faces drawn on their heads.

on it
I would grant full license for that to work until something on its shitlist turns up.

The use of the term 'shitlist' with White Giants makes them sound like bureaucrats.

Petition to tape square glasses on all the surviving White Giants. Eyelessness be damned.
@Mae
Collect supplies.
Create orange.
In the meantime, I still didn't have the Vetruvians go to the Mangroves like Heartworm wanted, though Akthanos has cleaned up the bloodly mess. Id you're still even remotely interested in that plotline from half a year ago, then I'm willing to collab something. Otherwise it can be written off as Akthanos not taking instruction from the devil that is Y'Vahn!

But there are so many other more exciting ways to give a demanding demon the middle finger! LET'S FIND OUT

I'm still interested, yep. I've been keeping fairly up-to-date on the Vetros narratives.

@Antarctic Termite I'm behind the current timeline as far as Ventus goes (just as I've been for the past 7 or 8 months) but he'll finally react to the Change-Eaters soon enough. The next part of the khollab will shake things up a bit on that front. While I had planned to have the upcoming events unfold anyways, it's awfully convenient that it happens right as the Diaphanes start to attack elemental lords

I live to serve, yo.
Much as I hate to move past that delicious 420 post count, here's a proper introduction post for Diaphane Whisper.

Not sure about the quality of the lullaby, but I feel like the fight scene is one of the best I've written yet.
