@KaiserAutoTo start with, you can write a bit about how he feels about his pilot training ending prematurely, and how he's suddenly whisked away from a familiar training facility and to a completely new environment. He could think about what he expects of the other pilots and their Framewerks, if he can fit in with the squad despite his sudden integration, that kind of stuff. He can also notice the Lieutenant's appearance and choice of words when addressing him.
Then there's the whole Lorenzo's lecture. You could note about the things the pilots failed in. You could look at them while they're addressed and try to figure out what kind of people they are based on appearance and what they said back to him. Then there's all the material that can be written from the newest post, with Lorenzo answering questions, the mysterious nature of Stukov's death, and a reaction out of the guy slapping a cute pilot and mutilating another. There's lots of stuff the character can observe upon.
