Sarah is an odd duck. I can see her flashing Magneto and having him momentarily stunned and saying, "Charles. What ARE you teaching your students these days?" before getting mobbed.

Speaking of which... why is it that a German Jewish person has an English accent anyways? :)
Laura appeared to be really getting into this aspect of what Sarah called training. After all, who knew if there was time travel, airships or who knew what in their future? Maybe sailing and swashbuckling would end up useful someday; Who knew? Well, Sarah supposed there probably was a mutant out there that could answer that question but she certainly didn't. Inside she was a bit disappointed with having Laura at the wheel. It would have been interesting to see her leaping from a mast spar down onto someone or some other insane feat of aerial acrobatics.

"Powder the guns me buckos," she said softly to one of the artificial crewmen, this time not hollering, "but softly. Gundeck only. Prepare to fire as she bears. Pass the word."

That would, unfortunately, lessen their firepower but the worried looking figures that had emerged on aftcastle of the schooner were looking about their vessel with a spyglass and discussing with some animation what they should do about the vessel behind.. Turning back to Laura as the crewman walked away to carry out his orders, Sarah nodded gently over her shoulder towards the men atop the distant forecastle.

"We're being glassed." she said casually, "I rather imagine they're pissing themselves or... whatever it is that artificial holographic constructs do... "

Then, from out of nowhere, Sarah giggled, idly tracing the leather thongs that strained to hold her harem outfit closed at the front.

"I tried flashing my boobs at them once when I was going after a larger ship. They didn't notice. Apparently whoever designed the program didn't take that into account in the programming."
Mommy?
Rest easy. Don't forget. This thread was supposed to be one to two posts per week for both yourself and Knighthawk. It's been decidedly more than that.
I apologize. That was partially playful and partially pure frustration talking. I'm getting a bit sensitive with people ignoring what I say and pretending they understand the words I select or singling me out as a freak for using vocabulary that should be common to those of the seventh grade level. (Not really meaning to be insulting... charlatan really is about that grade level, give or take a year)

Yesterday, during my lunch break I used the word ameliorate in a sentence and when asked, the person was insulted because I offered up mitigate and dilute as synonyms. Neither of which he knew. He thought I was actively trying to make him look stupid and I thought he was going to rip into me. By that point, using the term "watered down" really didn't help any.

I just get so bloody tired at being the bad guy simply because I enjoy writing.
Dictionaries, they explain words you've never seen before. They've been around for some hundreds of years. You should try one.

char·la·tanˈSHärlətən,ˈSHärlətn/nouna person falsely claiming to have a special knowledge or skill; a fraud.synonyms:quack, sham, fraud, fake, impostor, hoaxer, cheat, deceiver, double-dealer, swindler,fraudster, mountebank; More

Surprisingly, the dictionary left out one of my favorites, the confidence man, or confidence artist for embracing gender neutrality.
Charlatan...
Interested... maybe I'll do a charlatan sorceress fortune teller
I still believe the best solution is to simply assume that the events between Sarah and Laura take place the next morning.

Anyhoo, just saw Days of Future Past. Quite good. A bit disappointed by the lackluster stinger but clearly they're finally taking the franchise seriously.

It's motivated me to break out the old Classic Marvel RPG from the 1980's. I haven't done character write-ups for that in ages! Now I just have to find some good character sheets to print out, break out the dice and get started.
Well, X-Men sometimes did stingers even before Marvel Studios started using them on every movie. Now EVERYONE is doing stingers. I mean, it's free advertising for your future works and nothing generates sales like hype. That prognosticative chatter fans have, trying to determine where the story will go next, declaring where they would take the story, is what generates the best advertising. You're effectively conditioning your audience to see future installments.
