Mostly because of the food exemption, I would imagine. That and adequate self-defense.
Even without food exemption, with being able to go anywhere we want at any time on a whim, it's not common for food to be out of range if it's needed.

What all does that cover?
Just common natural threats. Falling isn’t a big deal, and neither is being hit by things. Poisonous stuff wouldn’t hurt you, and I don’t even think it would hurt me anymore either. Any average being would be hard pressed to touch me in any way if I’m being cautious. Neither of us have to eat or drink to survive. That cuts the list down by quite a lot.
