IA pirates are mostly resource hunters, but they go places they owned by others to pull valuable materials from planets and lands they don't own. They also do tend to fight each other, which can get dangerous when near an inhabited planet.

Nothing specific. We keep an eye out for pirates and raiders, any major threats to large population centers, and a bunch of things like that.

A lot of it is, ah, NDA. But it's mostly remote security work. Imagine being a security guard in a building and you have your room with all the camera feeds, but then expand that to a cosmic scale. It's not exactly like that but it's the best analogy I have.
