Maybe the IA isn’t perfect for you then. But the IA denizens of this universe I think don’t adopt the full-on sci-fi living anyway, I think. Not all do.

I don't think anywhere in the IA, that I know, is or has become a bad place to live... Well, "anywhere" meaning there's no bad world to choose. Worlds are so big that they all have upsides. There can be bad neighborhoods.
