<Snipped quote by Audacious>

I get that. I’m just thinking I need to chew on the idea a little bit, since that’s radically different.

That’s fair. And if I’m honest with you, knowing that they are an infohazard is, in my experience and knowledge of history, an infohazard in itself. Knowing that forbidden knowledge exists makes people want it more, so, uh… Don’t go hunting it down anyway.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

I was always taught that information should be unlimited and freely available. So the idea that you could be harmed just knowing something doesn’t really sit right with me.

*Puts my hands up and shrugs*
It’s not by choice, believe me.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

Rude.
*Laughs*
But even so, it sounds like the threat is that someone’s building an AI to torture people more than it is knowing the information. You could just not build the machine.

Right, but it’s less about the specific example and more about the idea. I can tell you with certainty that the infohazard elements of the Hidden Elements are very real.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

Sure, anything helps.

So imagine, there is an AI in the future that will be made. It’s not made yet, but the idea is that this AI will exist. Once it comes into existence, it is resolved to have anyone tortured forever if they knew about the concept of the AI but never worked to actually bring it into existence. So you’re threatened by knowing about it, and I’ve technically just put you in danger by proposing this to you.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

That just kind of goes against everything I was taught about information.

I have a thought experiment to kind of help you grasp it conceptually, if you want. I might not explain it perfectly but I believe I've got it.

<Snipped quote by Nimda>

I get ya. Just whenever you are ready, she might have a lot to say since she does study it.

<Snipped quote by Audacious>

Whoa.
*looks around in awe*

Yeah, it's like a glorified aquarium entrance.
*Makes my way over to the shuttles*
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

What could be dangerous just to know about?
*Looks around the station*

It's the nature of it. People with an affinity to the elements are exempt, but the knowledge itself is quite literally dangerous.
<Snipped quote by Galvanize>

Oh, she’s going to stop by?

<Snipped quote by Audacious>

*Tilts my head, confused*
No, that’s a new phrase to me.

It's a self explanatory one. Information that is dangerous just to know.

<Snipped quote by Audacious>

No, but they definitely make it easier. I can fly without them.

<Snipped quote by Nimda>

Once we get settled, yeah! I promised her that she could when I am set and ready.

Cool!
*The elevator comes to a halt, finally, and the door opens up to reveal a large underground station where shuttles come and go through tubes into the ocean*
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

I am too. I’ve never really understood that saying anyways.

*Shrugs*
So do you rely on those wings for flight?

<Snipped quote by Audacious>

What do you mean by sketchy?

<Snipped quote by Galvanize>

Well, good thing it’s a nonissue.

The best way to describe it, I think, is by asking if you've ever heard of an information hazard?
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

How does that element work then? Is it just healing power or something?

Getting into sketchy territory here, but yeah that's it's primary function.

<Snipped quote by Audacious>

*just before I stop and hop in the air, and float as a small pair of my wings stick out*
That’s how I heard it.

*The elevator begins to descend at a modest pace*
I am very confused, to say the least.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

Could it make some kind of monstrosity?

Not at all. Unless it's something I just don't know, but I don't think there is any way that would work.
