Mmm... “artificial” carries with it a certain connotation. They were all digital, and I am not among those malfunctioning. I would also be considered a quasi-mechanical hybrid rather than a digital entity.

Sure, but malfunctioning could be something that applies to you in such a state, maybe.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

I suppose I have no way of knowing.
*Chuckles*
At least three entities in that room were seriously malfunctioning, and I was only given the opportunity to repair one.

Were they all artificial? Also, are you among that number, given your current state?

It would be difficult to ascertain whether what they told me was false, but there is certainly more to this story that was deliberately withheld. Details that would have been useful to me.

Why would they lie? They don’t seem like bad people, but I dunno, if they were doing that, surely it was to some sort of benefit overall?
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

Simple enough. Then I suppose we wait.

Mhm… Say, what did you mean earlier about them not telling you the whole truth? Was something they said a lie, or were they just holding info back?
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

Are you certain there will be a need for any adjustment?

The one bit for sure. As of right now. That’s it.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

Again, I would like to understand the scope of that limitation. The more I interact, the less I will be able to remove.

Inner workings of the elements and very specific locations and bits of history that I will go out of my way to make sure you stay away from. I’d say it’s unlikely you learn more unless you go poking around when you shouldn’t.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

How do you handle the individual?

Depends on intention. Most get memory adjustments, like you’ be getting eventually.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

Interesting. And are these lasting effects, or are they localized to the affected area?

Localized. Pretty much entirely.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>

And what are the dangers of a rogue agent spiking element activity?

Well “rogue” agents would just be people who can use the elements but not for good. And that’s more of a “good guy versus bad guy” deal. What we’re doing specifically is looking for unsolicited use. Instances where it has popped up, clearly out of control and done damage because someone who shouldn’t have been able to do something, did. Poked their nose somewhere they shouldn’t have. And that’s exactly the danger, playing with forces they don’t comprehend and hurting themselves or others. Even being a cause for a physical anomaly like we discussed before… Sort of like arson.

The maintainers quit or died. Also an apt analogy.

With written records in existence. Yep, there you go. You had a better explanation for it than I did.
