I’m thinking he could be stuck in a time, er, chamber, that messed up and is much slower on the inside, unlike the one we were in. So even if he is fine and could fix it, it will still take him forever to do in real-world time.

Well, there was that visual. But at the same time, the guide said you don't age. I'm not so sure. If that's true, along with what Zinnia is saying, that might have just been a scare tactic.
