RAVECASTER

Brock and Cartwright are bringing the drugs. Does someone have a smoke machine?

@tipssyCalibratorWell, if we don't want to make this competitive, then I'd like Ryuuto to have an absurd disadvantage against his opponent in round 1 so he can pull a Shikamaru. I just don't think a combat based tournament is all that fun when everything is pre-determined.

Aye. I'd like to see what players can come up with rather than predetermining anything, myself, but if two players want to make a deal on which character wins and which character loses and guide the fight in that direction, that's pretty cool too.

Brock Van de Vate

The instant Asa's countdown started, Brock got his game face on and took his sunglasses off. It's STRATEGERY time! Almost like playing ball with the guys back home, but with more deadly superpowers. Unlike his power flexing before, Brock threw more energy than ever into leeching the heat from the air around him, coming to a glow in a matter of seconds and only growing brighter as time went on. Meanwhile, the air surrounding him took on a chill. Five seconds per ten feet would be enough to frost over the ground by Brock's reckoning, and he started walking slowly to make a swath of crunchy and slippery grass in a line along the middle of his team's side of the field, shouting towards his allies the whole time. Everyone would be able to hear him with ease including the other team and the spectators.

"Take care of that kid coming at us for me -- I'm prepping the field! Pirate Boy, get your ass out there! Go, go, go! And be careful with the girl with the massive rack, she's really fuckin' fast!"

Annoyingly, he'd take at least a minute to get up to a white-hot burn. He hoped he wouldn't be interrupted before then.
I saw your post @FlameLord and I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and reply or if I should wait for Silver...... Thoughts?

Just post, we need more of that.

Jonathan Walker

Jonathan moved to stand next to her, a bit more than an arm's-length away and facing the field. Personal space and all. So far, Mina didn't seem nearly as unpleasant as he'd heard, and he almost regretted not saying hello the previous year. Almost. But perhaps that would have ended poorly -- he didn't have the same sense of tact before, as evidenced by his very lengthy medical history. He couldn't help but smirk at her crack towards the day's earlier, erm, 'learning experience'. His nose definitely still stung, but it felt like the nerve endings were finally dying off from the repeated injuries. The nasal bandage was almost part of his regular wardrobe at this point.

"The same as last year, I'm afraid. But who knows, maybe it'll heal straight this time. That'd be an improvement."

He decided then that he'd view any future facial injuries as 'impromptu plastic surgery', considering the skill of the school's nurses and doctor. Last year's brawl with Taro had left his nose slightly twisted to the left. A glance her direction revealed that she was holding a notebook and rather nice pen, prompting a low-key eyeroll. That was the sort of thing Ryuuto would undoubtedly be doing, and given how long Jonathan had been away, it was likely that the other upperclassmen had already spoken.

"I suppose Ryuuto roped you into note-taking. Is there anyone in particular you're keeping an eye on?"

@Silver Carrot
@tipssyCalibrator

Hey, uh, I'm pretty sure this is evident by my absence, but I'm not gonna be able to keep up with this RP. Life just can't seem to cut me a break at the moment....

I'm gonna have to bow out, I'm really sorry...

RIP Hondo. :(

srs tho feel free to pop back in if you ever feel like it
@Cu Chulainn

Daler is single, fyi.
I get the feeling that Zeke is the only person who wasn't told anything about what was going on.

Brock Van de Vate

A plan was coming together in Brock's head. Morty Bradley came up with the sports team analogy, but he was getting a clearer picture of what the team was like. Morty Bradley had a sword and was clearly not the brightest, but seemed very enthusiastic. Yasu and Brock were mid as the roving beating squad. Doll girl looked like she had a few nasty tricks up her sleeves, but she didn't look very fast on her own, so she wasn't about to go grabbing any flags herself. Then there was Daisuke. Where the hell did he come from, and where the hell had he been? A few people still needed to join the party and put their heads together, but Brock would deal with that issue later.

"Alright, so Mr. Pirate over here gets to take his sword on offense. Yasu and I are covering mid, and Daisuke has volunteered himself for defense. Probably a good thing -- I wouldn't want that suit of his getting too dirty. You, with the dolls (holy shit you're scary)... If those can go wherever they need to go, then you can stay on defense too. Don't want you near the front lines if possible. Who else am I missing? We should have... Two others coming. Where the hell are they?"

As he spoke, he finished rolling up the newspaper and bent it in half, forming a cudgel. The water bottle cap came off and half of its contents slowly splashed onto the newspaper club soaking it thoroughly, and Brock drank the rest before standing, makeshift weapon in-hand. He scanned the environment for anything suggesting that Shinichi and Hana were coming to join their strategic gathering. Of course, he hadn't the foggiest idea what either of them looked like...

Thwack.
He hefted the cudgel in his hand and tested it out on his other hand. Perfect. Two and a half pounds of what might as well be wood and coins, and only a few loose pennies fell out of the grip end.

I feel like having characters be out for the entire game would be less interesting for that player once they're out, so they'll just have to go back to their side

Aye. I used to be in the Society for Creative Anachronism, and they did it a similar way during "big" field battles. Fighters who get hit place their weapons above their heads and walk off-field to a "resurrect point" of some sort, rehydrate, and go back onto the field at their side before starting fighting again.
