Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

Quick to shoot an opening post, I like it! Like I said in the Q&A section of the OOC opening post, I will not be playing as a character. Occasionally, I will post as an NPC type character, but only to further the plot. But just so you know, you may control NPC type characters in your posts as well.

For now, you will have to wait for someone else to post (as double posting is generally taboo). Or if you get tired of waiting, you can always edit your post and add on to it, but don't do that once there is a post after yours, as that can get confusing. You probably already knew that though.
@Bai Suzhen

You're character sheet is great. I'm going to copy and paste it to the approved characters section now. Let me know if you ever tweak anything about it so that I can copy and paste your changes. You can start posting in IC whenever you like.
Nah, I was just thinking maybe from the era that would maybe have cyberware. Actually, in this city of miracles, a character might be quite surprised to suddenly wake up having real legs again...

Correct, the character would have all his/her limbs fully in tact and be free from any terminal illnesses.
"Better late than never." they say.
I might give something a go here... I'm thinking from the modern era, though it might be fun to be from a little further in the future. Is there a particular future we can't be from further than?

I can be flexible a little bit if you want to go into the future. Basically, I just don't want characters from so far into the future that they have some sort of genius IQ standard for enhanced humans of their time. And no super sci-fi realities with aliens and space travel. It all has to be within reason of that which we already know to be possible with today's technology.

First of all, I apologize if anyone tagged is no longer interested in this RP. Let me know if that is the case, and I will stop tagging you in announcements. I just don't want anybody to miss anything.

As promised, I have created the opening post for the IC section. I have approved the first two character sheets that have been submitted by @SashaWindrider and @Rick Sanchez. You will find these approved character sheets copy and pasted into the opening OOC post. You two are free to post in the IC thread as soon as you like.

As I announced since last week, I will stop approving of characters tomorrow, Sept 30th. I am going to place one stipulation on that though. If the RP does not have at least FIVE characters, the deadline will be pushed back until 5 characters are submitted. In other words, as many people as possible can join before the end of tomorrow with a minimum of 5 being needed.

Thanks guys and gals! I'm looking forward to this RP. I have already planned out so many twists and turns that I'm sure you will all enjoy.

Similar to the OOC section's opening post, you will want to keep an eye out for new content in this IC opening post.

High atop a giant mountain lies what locals refer to as Paradise City. All the inhabitants of this city arrive at dawn and in the same way, by safely waking up on a sidewalk or park bench, healed of any ailment and with all bodily scars vanished. They are also found dressed in the same unisex, navy blue comfort suit, much like that of a modern day nurse.

The locals welcome new arrivals in open arms, offering to give them tours and show them the best places to buy new clothes. Whether one chooses to accept their overbearingly kind assistance or explore the city alone, it will become evident that this is no average city. Some streets are futuristic while others seem to resemble idealistic versions of the ages past; one never knows what kind of architecture will be found around the next corner. And venturing off too far in any direction will reveal an invisible wall. Beyond the wall, luscious landscapes below peak out from behind pillow white clouds.

The strangeness does not end at the city’s layout. Upon further investigation, there is no higher authority, no monetary system, basically nothing to create any kind of division of social classes. With no money, comes no need to work. There are no manufacturing plants as anyone can go to a store and request an item to be custom built by a computer operated machine or order the item online. Restaurants are merely themed attractions where people sit at tables where food and drinks are delivered autonomously, only moments after requesting them. In period themed shops, lifelike androids serve their guests 24/7.

After many hours of exploring, one may expect to start feeling tired or hungry, but that is never the case. The longer you stay, the more certain facts become apparent. While inside the invisible walls of this city, you will never get tired, hungry or sick. Furthermore, if you were to become injured, you would bear witness to your body’s new ability to heal itself in a matter of minutes.

Naturally, you may have a few questions such as, “Where am I? How did I get here? How is any of this possible? Can I go back home? What do I do next?” You are not alone. Everyone starts off with the same questions. Eventually, most people give up on their search for answers and choose to live gleefully in the care free city. What will you do?

8 facts you will learn quickly on your first day:
  • Day and night pass as usual.
  • Weapons seem to be non-existent.
  • The weather is always mild and comfortable.
  • There are no houses, just free hourly accommodations.
  • You can find any kind food or clothes at the stores for free.
  • You never get tired and always return to a state of perfect health.
  • People eat and drink purely for enjoyment, never getting full and never leaving waste.
  • Forms of transportation include: high-speed rails, busses, and single person rides (including animals).

"Good Morning Paradise"

This is the fictional website of two NPCs, Randy and Trixie. You can find their original posts in the IC section. Below are bare summaries of each of their appearances. This is basically a catalog for new people and those back from a long absence.

Golden Rule: No god modding another person's character
Silver Rule: Do not post more than once per hour. This is not quite the place.
@Mitsuri The One

Welcome!

I advise having a long look around before jumping into any RPs. You'll find that if you really love an RP, hours at a time of your days will start to go missing. Don't spread yourself too thin across multiple RPs, for the dreaded burnout syndrome might consume you. Personally, I can handle either 3 RPs in which I participate. OR 1 RP to participate and 1 RP to lead.

Good luck!
Well I ran out of ideas here. Any room where my character can pop in?

You're last known is 'wandering the inside of the Pawn Shop'. With all this action going on just outside, it would be naturally for a bounty hunter character like yours to be interested. If you're unsure what to do, you can join the crowd of people outside and observe like my character has chosen to do. That'll buy you some time to decide how best to proceed.

OR you can just jump in and be like, "what's going on!?", if you feel like that's more in line with your character.

OR your character can be bored of the situation, as an experienced bounty hunter might be anyways, thus leading you to explore some other part of the East Market, and therby create a new line of events.

Oh the choices!
KI was walking out the door of the tavern when he noticed events starting to unfold outside the Pawn Shop. A man rushed out of the shop to confront another much larger and quite intimidating man. The confrontation led to the first man being held at impressively large gun point. Naturally, this spectacle was starting to draw a crowd. KI took advantage of the situation by entering the crowd of people. This way he could hide in plain sight and stare right at the action.
