Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

I don't think double posting is something people do IC all that often. I mean once you've posted, you don't really have anything to post about until somebody else posts.

I normally don't support double posting. But in this particular situation, there is a clear goal set out for you in the form of quest details. That can be a writing prompt even when others aren't interacting with your character, hence the "lone wolf" option. But I have no quarrels with you waiting for others, if that's what you want to do.
@LuckyBlackCat
"Yeah, is having been given a Pokeball and Pokedex still an option?"

Hmm, I don't want people to have to re-write their biographies, just because of this change. I'd LIKE all new trainers to go to Labs to get started, BUT it can also be implied that whomever gifts these things to trainers got them from a Lab.

I'm going to say, yes, being given a Pokedex/Pokeball from someone is fine, but if your character came from a location that doesn't normally have a Lab, maybe they can reference which Lab it came from within some IC post? Idk, honestly, it's not super important. I'd rather not worry about it too much.

I was thinking of rising around you through the ground and kinda absorbing the chaos for a bit, then running into battle.

That sounds great. But you can't exactly "rise around" Balthazar at the moment. Currently, he is high above the city in the form of a giant ominous cloud. You could definitely speak to him easier than everyone else though, being so tall and all. LOL

Depends on the organization. Makes me wonder if Pokecorp absorbed the Pokemon Rangers too, since they're a thing.

Honestly, I'd rather leave Pokemon Rangers out of this RP, at least until we all get a hold of the things as they are. If we need to spice things up later, I'm sure it can be worked in.

That bit about joining an Organization is a bit unfair in the Expert rank. What if that character wants to become Expert, but has no interest in joining an Organization?

Okay. I removed that clause at your request. Still though, from a strategic standpoint, being a part of an organization can be beneficial to anyone.

So how does difficulty affect dice rolls exactly?

"Your roll" - "Difficulty Roll" = Result
Win if... Result > 0
Loose if... Result < 0
Re-roll if... Result = 0

Currently, you've got a guaranteed win against difficulty 1 enemy. Ify against difficulty 5. Rare win against difficulty 10.

With that in mind, unless you get lucky, you'll probably have to try quite a few times to win against the knight himself. I have changed the rules at the bottom of the 0th OOC post to allow for double posting, as long as you wait 3 hours between each post. This will aid in grinding without running me ragged.

Also, I've updated the rate at which XP is earned when victorious in situations. I figure a boss battle (even in a Lvl 1 side quest) should earn more XP than it's first minion.

Reminds me, is the requirements to move up the Trainer Ranks the same?

From Beginner to Skilled stayed the same I believe. The other rank up requirements got easier maybe. You can find this information in the Character information hider located in the Character Tab.

Here it is for a quick reference though.

  • Beginner: Any trainer with a Pokedex is considered a beginner. A beginner may only buy/use items designated for Beginner trainers. Only Tier 4 Pokemon will obey your trainer. Technically, you can evolve a Pokemon whenever they reach the appropriate level, but if you're still a beginner, you cannot use the evolved form in battle.

  • Skilled: To obtain this rank, your character must catch six Pokemon, battle with one other user controlled trainer, and travel to one other location other than that character's starting location. At this rank, your character can use 'skilled' items and tier 3 Pokemon will obey. Now you can evolve that Weedle. There are other hidden benefits as well.

  • Expert: To obtain this rank, your character must have caught 30 Pokemon and have 10 tier 3 Pokemon. At this rank, your character has access to 'expert' items, obedience from tier 2 Pokemon, and more hidden features.

  • Master: To obtain this rank, your character must have caught 100 Pokemon and have at least 20 tier 2 Pokemon. At this rank, your character can use all items, control all Pokemon, and uncover all the secrets of this world.
My oh my this looks quite impressive. I was thinking of dropping in as a demon warrior, idk, super excited to get a char going though

I've added your character to the 0th OOC post. It'll be nice to have another demon on the battle field.

Question, do you want act as if you where on the battle field when my empowering demon fog was there? That way you'll already be hulked out quite a lot. Or do you want to arrive after it has lifted? That way you start off at your base strength and I can give you a boost later?

Just something to consider for your first post.

Power to 3.

You got it. Also, I updated the "Knight" side quest, since that's clearly where you're headed.

I'll level up.

Cool. Do you want to increase your Power to 3 or Cunning to 1?
