I was just going to use the [Gen 8 Anything Goes] format, but to be honest, I'm not up to date on the meta.

Are you? Do you have any suggestions?

As for items, I was going to go with NO ITEMS, except for items awarded by winning battles.

No. You can pick a canon champion if you want, or you can make an original character.

Pokemon: Battle Island (a Showdown RP)

I want to do a quick RP that combines two of my favorite childhood anime: Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh.

What I mean is that this is a Pokemon RP, but done through a tournament format inspired by season one of Yu-gi-oh! Duel Monsters.

The plotline goes as such... There is a big tournament being hosted on this island, with the reward being 3 Master Balls, a crazy amount of money, and the title of the world's strongest Pokemon Trainer. Only Pokemon Masters (reigning and former champions of their respective regions) are invited to participate.

Each trainer is allowed to bring 9 Pokemon with them, and only one Legendary/Mythical Pokemon per trainer. They will then battle for prizes, points, and to ultimately become the tournament's champion. Hundreds of trainers will be invited to this grand event, but only one will come out on top!

Battles will be held through Pokemon Showdown, and hosted at certain REAL WORLD times, when I can be online. How it will go is, I will let everyone know (days in advance) when I'll be online to host a battle. The first two people to respond, saying that they will be online at that time, will then log on at that time and battle each other.

The winner will get a star badge (the points needed to win the tournament). If for some reason, only one person signs up for the battle slot, or if one trainer doesn't show up on time, we will look to see if anyone else is online that wants to battle. If there are no takers, I'll create a character, and you'll be battling against me.

The first four players to get 6 star badges will make it into the single elimination bracket round.

This RP will be very relaxed. Meaning, that anyone can drop in the IC section and RP as one of the Pokemon Masters that are in the tournament. But to actually participate in an official match, you'll have to get your team approved first.

BTW, I'm going to rule in favor of a more simple mathematical formula for stacking boosts. You actually did it wrong, based on my old formula. Your final speed result would have been lower.

BUT, I've decided to re-work the system to make it easier. Now, boosts DO STACK. So you boosted your 70x2=140 then you added the after image technique: 140x2.5= 350 This is the formula I used when getting the results to this battle.

Bold Headed Bakuto!

Lazuli heard the sand shift underneath Bakuto's feet and thought to herself. 'He fell for it.' He didn't look like he was going to make the first move, so she found an excuse to close her eyes, to bait him.

Concentrating on a whole different level than Bakuto had seen before, she didn't even bother to open her eyes. She didn't even know he was using an after image technique. Instead, she listened to the ever so faint sounds of his footsteps, breathing, and even his heartbeat. Even without these sounds, she could still track him, following his Ki.

When Bakuto finally got close enough to land his decisive blow, Lazuli made her move. She shifted her body in such a way to avoid his attack and counter with a quick decisive blow of her own. Crouching down, she went for a quick double punch to his mid section. She wanted to avoid hitting him too hard in one spot; she didn't want to punch a hole through him or anything.

Of course, all this happened in a matter of seconds. The only person to follow the action completely would be Krillin, as he watched from his floating position, with a proud grin on his face.

Result

Lazuli evades Bakuto's attack, taking 0 damage, and looses 158 Power to exhaustion. She has 2000 health and 1,842 power remaining.
Bakuto takes a critical hit for 162 damage and looses 76 Power to exhaustion. He has 0 health left (-41) and 45 power remaining.
Bakuto is knocked unconscious, and is sent flying into the water due to the force of the impact.

Lazuli's eyes were barely open as her fists made contact with Bakuto's torso. She felt and heard bones inside his body crack. Then, he went flying into the ocean, 100 yards into open waters. While he was mid air, Lazuli could already tell he was falling unconscious. She had messed up royally. Here she was, worrying about her Paw Paw going overboard, while she herself was no better.

The sound of Bakuto hitting the water snapped her out of her self loathing state. She dashed after him, to save him from drowning.

So based on the maximum daily gain of 10% that I've been using so far, the three weeks that you spent in gravity assisted training, only assuming a few days of necessary rest, and given the fact that this RP is based on an anime with crazy power levels anyways...

I'd like both of you to put your power levels to 700. Obviously, because of the conditions that you've been training under, your character's won't fully comprehend how much stronger they've gotten till they step out of the space craft, and even then, it will take a real fight to fully understand these new heights.
