Nother question, are things from other places (Ex: Machamp from pokemon, Obi Wan from starwars, Rick from The Walking Dead) allowed.

I was wondering if a character(Ex: exxegute from pokemon) that was like mutiple beings would count as one charcter? Like a pack of rats would be like one character with one name? Just seeing if its possible, its probably not)

This is a question just for ranked matches to see if its legal.

About the 250 fps thing, the projectile may have a significant speed reduction it may also have a certian shape or enchantment of some sort that helps with its penetration factor, so i agree that the rule is adequate at balancing a few things out.

Welcome!

This is the first in a series of annual combat tournaments on Roleplayerguild. This tournament will take place on one (or more) maps in a single elimination bracket tournament. This tournament will utilize a Powered level for its character meaning powers should be considered carefully in terms of scope and potency.

The deadline for participating in this tournament is May 7, 2015, 10:00 a.m. EST. By this time you must have indicated interest and completed the character you are using (you may choose the format of the bio). At this time the first map will be released for Round 1 of the tournament. After the first round is completed any map changes will be released.

Rules, Guidelines, etc:

• Standard Combat Restrictions for Powered.
• Characters may NOT be posted into the characters tab until they have been given my approval on the OOC first. Editing characters that have been accepted and posted into the character tab is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. You may request to make adjustments up until the May 7th deadline. However, any adjustments made without my approval can result in character disqualification. This is to ensure that no abilities are snuck in without approval.
• Judging will primarily be done by myself. @Rilla can judge in the event of my absence. Under no circumstances are any participants to judge others' matches.
• Characters are approved on a first come, first served basis. Thus, it is strongly encouraged characters be submitted well in advance of the May 7 deadline. I am not under any obligation to accept characters even if they are submitted before the deadline if there are too many last minute bios. By submitting early you give your character time to be adjusted after any feedback I may provide, otherwise I may just outright decline a character's ability if it is on (or too close) to the May 7 deadline.
• You can add additional stipulations to the match if your opponent agrees.
• You may NOT loot another character's corpse. You may wager items, but these cannot be used during this tournament.
• Assisting another combatant out of character is considered against the rules and can result in disqualification at my discretion.
• Matches may not begin until after the May 7 deadline, even if you have been already matched with an opponent. After the May 7 deadline matches must begin within two days unless prior approval has been given by myself for a special circumstance. Matches that have been inactive for over 5 days without notification to myself (and subsequent approval) will be awarded to the most recent person who posted.
• In the event of an odd number of participants one person will be given a by for the round. This will be done randomly.
• NO WEAPON MAY LAUNCH A PROJECTILE GREATER THAN 250 FPS. This also will likely extend to magic.
• I am free to adjust the rules in the instance I feel: A) another rule needs to be added B) the wording of a rule needs to be adjusted to preserve the spirit of the rule.

Tips:

• While Sci-Fi and Modern characters are allowed, please consider carefully the implementation of many of the items found on these types of characters.

Dmitri Valean. Age: 31. Weight: 182lbs.
Height: 5'8" Race: Human
Dmitri was a mischievous talent when he was young, and his loved ons always told him to stay out of trouble, but he didn't listen. The day he lost it, he was outside shooting logs in the water with a sling shot. 'Thwack' 'Thwack' 'Thwack' 'Thump' Hmm? That's not normal. Suddenly to the young boys surprise, a massive reptilian beast emerged from the water and lunged at Dmitri, clamping its jaws onto his left arm. It wrenched its neck, then was gone.... and so was Dmitri Valean's arm. Almost too good to be true, his father was a mage, and connected the boys tendons and muscles to an arm from an ancient suit of armour. This arm had magic nullification qualities. Performing this act, however, had dire consequences; Dmitri lost his father. Now Dmitri explores the worlds in search of adventure, because its "what his father would want.".

Appearance: His brown hair is cut in a common style and he has blue eyes and is muscled healthily. Wears no shirt and his brown cloth pants are held up by a section of rope. He also has his "Savior arm" ( The armour one).
Weapons- His "Dragon Whisker" sword, similar to a jian. It is capable of being combo'd with his magic. Blade is 20 in.(51cm) long. His GuanDao's staff length is 4ft long, and the blade 1 ft.
Powers- He can open 2 portals at once max that himself, other animals, magic, and other objects can pass through. A moderate distance of 200ft is his max portal distance away from himself.
Nether Screens- Summons 4 thin plates of nether energy to the tip of his sword, which can then be swung off his sword 1 by 1 as projectiles. They are 1ftX1ft squares.

Withdrawal- Sheaths his current weapon into a portal and then draws another. (His Dragon Whisker and his GuanDao are the only choices.)

Notes: If any part of someone's body passes through the radius of a portal, that body part will be paralyzed. This does affect Dmitri, but not his savior arm. If its not organic its not affected by this. Some things can stop this paralyzation, or resist it, such as high willpower or some kind of healing affect. This paralyze affects the victim for 3 seconds only. QUESTION: The Savior Arm has magic nullification properties only when the magic touches that arm... Should the arm completely nullify the magic OR severely/drastically reduces the damage/power.[/hide]
