Bio

I am a Roleplayer with an interest in science fiction and fantasy, with a preference for Casual. I have been roleplaying for several years, and have even taken a stab at running a few RPs.

Outside the Guild, I am an Australian science student, gamer, musician and roleplayer (that's right, IRL too).

@Lauder She seems a very interesting character. A good idea.

So these technicalities will take...how many might points to make go away, exactly?

Depends. If you want to make a bona fide element, one which would show up on the periodic table, which is made from a single type of atom of neutrons, protons and electrons, that would require rewriting the Laws of Physics, while carefully avoiding messing up the existing elements, a task of nigh impossible difficulty. I'd bet even Logos would struggle with such a task.

If you are content with anything other than a pure atomic element, then there would be no trouble at all.
So, I had an idea for a metal, or an ore unique to Galbar, or Arcon, that remains an impenetrable solid when idle, but when magically charged it becomes something similar to cloth, with the color and texture of say, gold? I just thought it was a cool idea for a magus' armor, or a door of sorts.

This could be something you could make if you're looking for something to do @Scarifar

@Scarifar

Keep in mind that whatever it is you make won't be an element, as iron or copper or gold or carbon or oxygen are.
Teknall wrote in a few special elements to the Codex of Creation (namely Adamantine (dark coloured metal, a little denser than steel, stronger than any other metallic element in most if not all metrics), Mithral (silver-like metal, with the strength of steel yet density of aluminium. Some magical affinity), and Orichalcum (gold-copper-silver coloured metal. Physically mundane, but has notable magical affinity)). A look at the periodic table tells me that, if I insert an extra group in the transition metals (the safest place to start placing new elements), I can fit 3 elements. So no room for as-yet unnamed additions. And the Periodic Table isn't exactly something that can be rewritten after creation.

That said, you can still make it as some magic-infused compound or alloy or something, or even a pseudo-element (although then things would get weird. Like, Gap weird).
@BBeast@Kho@Fabulous Knight Not sure if it counts, but Logos gifted the knowledge of fire to man. They mightve brought it over when Illy and Co stole them.

Otherwise, I'd like to be refunded my one freepoint. :P

The humans know how to make fire. Nobody else does yet.
@Fabulous Knight I was about to mention the same thing. We can say that numerous Hain tribes have captured naturally occurring fire, but none yet know how to make it from scratch. I'll have the existing fires as inspiration for the invention of the method.

Anyway, I'm off now. Good night.
@BBeastWood against wood works.

Also if you introduce fire to them -- do you mind doing it "back in time"? I already mentioned them using fire a long time ago.

Doing it a long while back may be tedious. Fire is a big thing, granted with pomp and ceremony. Would the Hain have already discovered fire on their own?

Where did you mention the fire?
@Muttonhawk et al., about fire. Flints only produce sparks when struck against iron or a related substance. They do this because the hard flint shaves off tiny, tiny flecks of iron, and that iron (hot from being rubbed against the flint, and with an enormous surface area to volume ratio) oxidises violently in the air, making sparks. Flint-on-flint won't do it. You'll need the right kinds of rock.

If you really think fire is a good idea very soon, I can have it be invented and proliferated in my next post. Teknall is probably a few years behind everyone else at this point (he can catch up in my next post), so it works retroactively.
@BBeast Ah shit whoops, looks like I wasn't paying attention. Once I have a laptop I'll go edit that so that it makes Stone Chipper's true identity more secretive, if that suits you?

I've PM'd you about it.

@Dawnscroll, that sounds vaguely similar to Reathos' crows, with their Lesser Eyes of Reathos.

Some time I'll actually read the IC posts.

P.S. @Skyrte Good. It will be maybe a week or two before I finish my current arc, so no big rush.
What on earth did I just read through...

I remembered something else. Allure's going to get a hammer to the face when Teknall eventually finds him.

And I had been hoping to hold off revealing that Teknall was a god to Gerrik until much later, but I'll see what I can do when I have some actual time.
I would post and stuff, but instead I have to spend hours wading through the OOC. Up to page 212 for my own reference, and read up to the Ventus-Slough collab (haven't read that yet).

Let's see if I can remember what I read and needed to say.

Excellent entry into the world for Lifprasil.

If any Urtelem meet those Cold Walker people, there's going to be a fearsome fight. The Urtelem probably have the advantage since swords do next to nothing and you can't freeze them.

My next post will have some commentary on Slough's life and stuff. I'll throw in some commentary on Jvan's life too.

Where was that guy who wanted to make a demigod of blacksmithing? Once I get my Hain Hero trained I should get his demigod made, given the explosion of sentient races lately. If you're out there, could you show me your character sheet? Appearance, personality, abilities, goals. It will help me figure out how to go about making your demigod. And we'll need to collab for the creation, probably.

Speaking of the explosion of sentient races, I need to hurry up and get my Hero trained, or else I'm going to get left behind. But I'm already getting left behind, as I've got IRL stuff to do and there are many posts.

P.S. got to go now. I told myself I would leave 20 minutes ago, in fact...
