Euh. It's been a hot minute. Things are rather different for me now, and I don't know how that translates to my presence here.

I don't *think* I'm a bad person. I might be wrong there. I try not to be, even when I screw it up for want of social awareness.

Hello, I am me from the internet. I migrated here from Kongregate's Forum Games Forum, so feel free to look for me there if you wish to follow a career in internet stalking people. (ಠ_ಠ) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Mark Antony Collier, A.K.A. "Fly Guy"
Age: 13 Nationality: America, Land of the Free! Specifically, the city of New York in the state of New York. Rank: 44
Appearance: One could imagine Mark would be a fairly normal guy, if not for his Quirk. One could imagine he'd be fairly light-skinned, and one can tell regardless that he has brown hair on his head, kept short enough to stay out of his eyes, and a fairly decent figure about five feet in height with, if one were to witness them, particularly well-built back muscles for his age. However, if one were not aware of who he was, the first idea of what he might look like would come from his regular shirts, which not only have an extra pair of sleeves underneath the usuals, but two large slits up the back, as if to allow for wings to pass through... and perhaps something else beneath those. Costume: Things only get stranger as one witnesses his costume. Black jeans are simple enough a covering for his lower half, but the upper half could easily be mistaken for part of a knight's plate armour, albeit crafted from titanium and a padded leather lining with a peculiar metallic blue coat of paint over top, alongside further reinforcement of all six limbs - six, as that is the only explanation for the extra arm sleeves and gauntlets. The same slits from before are also present on the back of the breastplate, but part of it is composed of two solid metallic orb-like structures, complete with holes letting air in, as if to allow two small-ish objects to nestle inside with room to freely move about. Most strange is the two-piece helm - the upper half of which seems to be comprised mostly of black-tinted bullet-resistant plastic, solid enough to deflect quite firm strikes, yet covering the majority of the wearer's head with room to spare, especially over the face; and the lower half a facemask of the same metallic blue-coated titanium covering mouth and nose both, strapping on round the back of the wearer's head, but allowing room for... a large metal spike? Hollow, but clearly very sharp... what the hell does the person wearing this need that for?!
Type: Mutant Effect: Mark's Quirk causes him to look very much like a fly - a large pair of transparent insectile wings and a pair of orb-like halteres have sprouted from his back around his shoulder blades; a second pair of arms has erupted from just beneath his armpits; his eyes have transformed into large compound lenses, red with an oil-slick sheen, taking up much of his upper face; most of his body is coated in stiff black hairs, wings and all, with a metallic blue sheen to his skin; and a sturdy proboscis protrudes from between his nose and upper lip, evidently intended to pierce into things.
The primary drawback of this quirk, evidently, is social, given that the vast majority of people will be utterly repulsed by such a visage, made worse by the long-term mental effects of such rejection. The quirk itself, however, is fairly substantial: there is an obvious benefit to wings in the form of flight, something Mark has practiced for a long time to actually achieve the physical strength needed, but this is massively enhanced by his halteres, which essentially act as miniature gyroscopes to pinpoint his position in space relative to other nearby objects, particularly in the horizontal plane, giving him pinpoint accuracy. Further flight effectiveness is achieved by the nature of his eyes giving him a very wide field of view, and the fact that his brain essentially processes the world in slow motion, letting him perceive events that normal people would not react to in time. The potential to detect both infra-red radiation and carbon dioxide emissions is also present in him, though he has yet to discover these properties.
Beyond flight-assisting benefits, his skin is actually somewhat chitinous whilst remaining flexible, and sturdier than one might give it credit for at a glance. Extra arms, evidently, are useful for greater ability to grab or indeed punch things, and can incidentally let him taste objects by placing his hands on them; a power not yet discovered is the capacity to cling to most surfaces by his hands, though he has experienced hints of this through occasional "sweaty hand" mishaps. Lastly, his proboscis is sharp and solid enough to impale flesh, and can both spew out a greenish enzyme-laden acid that is highly effective at breaking down and dissolving proteins, and suck up fluids such as blood and dissolved biomass for sustenance.
Whilst all of these add up to a very substantial powerset, it stands to reason that such extreme physical changes merit obvious weak points. His wings and eyes are large targets, and can be damaged quite easily if a hit lands on them, requiring a fair bit of time to recover from harm; much less obviously, his halteres are extremely sensitive organs, and in fact necessary for him to fly at all: a solid hit to them is debilitating in the same fashion as a kick to the testicles, and if they are destroyed or removed outright, Mark will become utterly unable to fly. Thankfully, he's quite a difficult target to hit and can weather harm to the rest of his body to some extent, further assisted by his costume, but contrariwise, he is in fact very lacking offensively, with just an extra pair of arms and a stabby implement that can spit up acid to his name, and the acid is at present entirely ineffective against non-biological material - a major factor in his initial low rank, evidently. Finally, whilst perhaps a minor issue by comparison, he requires a fair bit of energy to fly properly, usually supplementing a standard diet with plenty of sugar and starch.
Personality: Mark's early life has not been generally easy, and consequently, he developed into a very aggressive person to protect himself. This has not generally helped him to make friends, unsubtle as he is, and in fact it has led to a great deal of problems actually integrating into society over time, to the point of requiring specialised support as a child to acclimate and be somewhat more social in general. He is still prone to sullenness and grudge-holding alike, and might bite your head off with a long rant about how much you suck if you intentionally upset him, but he's at least not likely to hit you with an insult just because you made a comment about his eyes.
That being said, underneath this outer layer of anger is a heavy dose of legitimate loneliness. He struggles to let people in even when he isn't taking out his frustration on them, and has had few acquaintances and even fewer friends in his thirteen years of life. Consequently, his hobbies tend to be solo in nature - reading both fiction and non-fiction, computer games, flying practice, and the occasional piece of short fiction, albeit with the level of writing quality one might expect of a thirteen-year-old - but this need to be legitimised has also helped fuel a degree of geniality to those who haven't upset him, and indeed a tendency to help those in need at the drop of a hat. Unusually, he's also gained a degree of knowledge about forging techniques, thanks to circumstances that arose just prior to his acceptance into New Heights.
History: As already stated, Mark's early life has not been generally easy. His father's Quirk, a benign little transformation number he called Bluebottle, mixed with his mother's needle-producing Quirk to produce a setup that seemed only marginally different from the former, save that Mark himself was born looking like a fly, instead of simply transforming into one. The change from Transformation to Mutant rather set the course of Mark's life to be highly negative: despite his best efforts and quite significant smarts, he was often bullied in elementary school, with few people willing to talk to him much, and only two other Mutants he could even call friends - and even with them, his behaviour and reputation steadily degraded until they split away for their own sakes when he was about eight.
It was also around this time he first suspected and, with all the gumption of an angry fly child, voiced his concerns that even his parents didn't really love him or even like him. Evidently, loving as they actually were, this was conclusive evidence to them that he needed some form of long-term support, and shortly after, he began seeing a counsellor with quite a positive track record. Between education and therapy sessions, as well as a brief period of time Mark spent on adderall that ended when his parents insisted it was ill-advised, Mark also attended a number of regularly-scheduled groups designed for those living in unfortunate circumstances - say, being part of an impoverished family, or looking like a fly person. Despite everything, these groups did actually help him somewhat, and whilst he never exactly made friends with anybody in them, he could at least talk to them every week or so.
It was one of those children that sparked something resembling interest in hero work - they, naturally, were convinced they'd become a hero, and went on at length about how they'd use their power and how they'd train it every day to get the spot they wanted. Something about that appealed greatly to him - maybe he'd even be liked by people, if he saved them! After getting his therapist's approval, and his parent's encouragement, he began to practice using his powers on a regular basis - part of which was figuring out what flies could do to begin with, before practicing to make proper use of them, including time spent on karate as a martial art, which he excelled in with his enhanced and increasingly-potent precision and slowed temporal perception allowing him to mimic stances and target weak points with ease. In particular, three years were spent furiously flapping his wings on a regular basis, seeming to make little to no progress beyond hovering, only to suddenly take off several feet one morning before school, as it transpired his wing muscles had grown exceptionally strong in the process of all that practice. This power was promptly used to show off in front of one of his bullies, and then to kick said bully in the face for years of humiliation. He maintains to this day that the detention was entirely worth it, even as he recognises the "cool factor" didn't make him any further friends.
Nonetheless, as he grew closer to the typical acceptance age for hero training schools, his father used his connections in construction to get Mark working alongside a local craftsman, helping to forge himself an outfit to enter into heroics with: lightweight, yet tough enough to protect him, and especially to ensure his most important body parts were shielded without being hindered to the greatest possible extent. Both parents also worked with him to start putting applications into as many hero schools as they could, and it was, perhaps, a great deal of good luck that one of those which confirmed his acceptance was within the United States, specifically Hawaii - sun, sand, high-quality education, exclusivity, and he didn't even need a Visa to head there. It pretty much settled the matter: once his last year of standard schooling was over, he headed to New Heights Academy.
Given Markus' flight capacity, and his clear preparation for the exam and future education, it was expected that he would achieve quite positive results. Indeed, his ribbon collecting seemed to go well initially, and he readily evaded most attacks from those robots which targeted him, displaying his Quirk's abilities very efficiently.
However, it became abundantly clear after attempting to help a fellow student in a difficult fight that he was entirely unprepared to fight artificial foes - his fists dealt minimal damage despite targeting weak points, his mouthparts could barely scratch the surface of any metal surfaces he attempted to puncture regardless of its extra reinforcement, and he seemed to shy away from most such fights as a result, panicking when forced into them. Even when he succeeded in puncturing the joints of the one robot he managed to defeat, the acidic substance later found in its systems had hardly corroded the materials at all despite clear danger to biological matter; the machine's disabling was largely due to a combination of physical tearing and short circuiting. Furthermore, he was unfortunate enough to be targeted by Hiroki Sakimoto partway through the exam, being disoriented and grounded by the fellow trainee's Quirk, and losing most of the ribbons he had collected up to that point, leading to reduced performance for the remainder of the exam due to apparent frustration.
It is hardly fair to suggest that Markus is incompetent, nor that he would not be capable of succeeding as a professional hero. Certainly, the theft of so many ribbons so late into the exam could be called "sheer bad luck", given the presence of a Quirk that almost directly countered his own. However, the rules of the examination are clear: preparation to defeat any foe is key, maintaining the right mindset is equally important, and luck must always be a factor considered in a real scenario, though points are given for helping another student without question. Regardless of his starting rank, Markus will have plenty of opportunities to prove himself more effectively throughout the remainder of his education, and we expect that he will rise to match his potential accordingly.
@ShwiggityShwah It's my (very limited and plausibly outright wrong) understanding that quirks do need to have a certain level of capability to even be considered for their users to be trained as heroes. My thought, along those lines, is that all hero-level quirks would have some practical use, and therefore a certain minimum degree of potency, but that it evidently varies within that range.
Poor little jet-engine Hiroki, can't even fly properly without exhausting his jets, nyeh-nyeh-nyenyeh-nyeh.
As far as fly guy goes, my thinking is that he'd probably be a real salty lad, which tends to happen when you spontaneously grow insect wings, compound eyes, weird stiff fur all over your body, and a proboscis starts growing out of your mouth, all at the age of three or four years old. Probably would have been downright traumatic for the poor kid, and the eternal bullying he'd receive as a result would not help him socialise. I envision therapy in his childhood... this got dark, I'm sorry.
I have had the idea to make a fly guy. That is, a guy who is a fly, and has all the powers of a fly... which, in turn, actually renders him pretty competent, given the wide range of stuff flies can actually do. So long as he isn't dealing with robots, that is... considering what ranks are already taken, I might put him at 43 or 44 overall if I make him. Alternatively, if he needs to go to a higher ranking than that, I can adjust to make him somewhat more effective in general without necessarily altering his overall character or abilities.
Speciality: Grenadier - Deploy where the fighting is fiercest, charge the front lines and trenches, ideally die in the process. More specifically, 415633-983223-17-Zhatka held one of his squad's special weapons, a meltagun in his case.
Appearance: 415633-983223-17-Zhatka does not remove his uniform outside of proper quarters. To do so is poor discipline. If you were to catch him off-guard or forcibly extricate him, however, you would see a figure left ghoulishly pale from lack of sunlight, mostly hairless from generations of radiation exposure, and perhaps slightly malnourished, albeit leanly muscled. Pale blue eyes remain constantly observant, if slightly too wide at all times, and a total lack of expression leaves his face unmarred - in fact, its apparent youthfulness makes one wonder just how old he truly is.
Uniform: 415633-983223-17-Zhatka wears a standard issue Death Korps Grenadier uniform - a thick double-breasted greatcoat and trousers, pale grey as regards the 382nd Siege Regiment, and chemically impregnated to resist chemical and biological attacks, though this leaves it emitting a pungent smell at all times; thick light brown leather boots and dark brown leather gloves, maintained meticulously in all environments; Mark IX plasteel helmet, again pale grey in colour with the Aquila displayed on the front; standard plasteel-ceramite rebreather facemask, depicting a bone-white skull facemask and attached to a Type V Respirator carried on the wearer's back; and heavy plasteel-ceramite carapace armour integrated into the standard uniform, comprised of three-piece shoulder guards, chest and abdomen plates, and shin and knee guards.
The entire uniform is environmentally sealed, and additional supplies are carried in a backpack, including spare respirator filters, ration packs, and an appropriate weapon maintenance kit; additional ammunition cartridges and the standard entrenching tool are carried on leather webbing worn over the uniform. Identification number is stencilled on to the chest plate, former squad number is likewise stencilled on the right shoulder plate, and various memento mori are carried in a cotton pouch also tied to the webbing - the only hints of personalisation 415633-983223-17-Zhatka portrays.
Armament: Instead of the standard-issue Type XIV Lasgun (heavy), i.e. the "Hellgun", 415633-983223-17-Zhatka is equipped with a Mars-pattern meltagun, an anti-armour weapon able to fire streams of fusion-based plasma with temperatures ranging in the tens of thousands of degrees centigrade, albeit only at relatively short range. Whilst without a lasgun lug to affix to, the standard 45 centimeter long sword-bayonet is also issued to all Death Korps Guardsmen, including Grenadiers. Lastly, a large number of anti-personnel and anti-tank grenades are issued to all Grenadiers, primarily frag and krak, for use against fortified positions.
Personality/Demeanour: As with any good member of the Death Korps of Krieg, 415633-983223-17-Zhatka's overriding character trait is the need to atone for his planet's failure over a millenium ago, as demanded of them by their planet's Cult of Sacrifice. Ultimately, he will gladly expend himself in pursuit of this atonement, happily wading into combat situations that other Guardsmen would see as unwinnable suicide charges, almost precisely because they are unwinnable suicide charges that can nonetheless win the day. For the Death Korps, and especially for a Death Korps Grenadier, this is standard operating procedure, and he has long accepted that he is more or less a walking corpse by default; 415633-983223-17-Zhatka is not so foolish as to believe other Guardsmen will dedicate their lives so readily, however, and for the sake of maintaining squad cohesion (and, an idea conceived with unutterably guilty conscience, perhaps even returning to fight alongside his kinsmen someday) is at least willing to cooperate by not simply wading into enemy fire.
This does not mean he is not constantly judging them, however. Even out of uniform, his head will swivel at an odd angle to keep track of as many faults as possible, and he is not shy in pointing out when his fellows are portraying weakness, cowardice, and inefficiency either on or off the battlefield. In particular, retreat is simply unacceptable in his mind: whilst otherwise an utterly dedicated soldier, one of the few orders he will flat-out ignore is that of retreat or even regroup, for to give up so much as an inch to the enemy is tantamount to absolute failure in his mind. Indeed, he is not above the idea of killing a commanding officer and taking command if they attempt to force the matter - faulty firing mechanisms are as worthless as faulty rounds, after all.
That said, he is not entirely heartless. Even in the Death Korps, the Astra Militarum cannot make its soldiers fight and train exclusively; thus it is that in his downtime, 415633-983223-17-Zhatka is at least able to converse, though he prefers not to given the choice, his vocabulary is terse when he does, and his range of topics is rather limited to stories about past training and past battles, all of which are unerringly gruesome in nature. Privately, he also harbours something of a romantic side, insofar as Kriegers can be romantic; naturally, he feels this must be kept a secret from most others, for in the Death Korps, such a revelation of personal weakness would never have been lived down if made public.
"In life, war. In death, peace. In life, shame. In death, atonement."
Greatest Ambition: To die in service to the God-Emperor, and reclaim some measure of atonement for his homeworld's sins. Preferably, he'd like to do so alongside fellow Kriegers, but if he must do so amongst strangers, so be it.
Greatest Hatred: Failure to perform one's duty. Lately, he has found in himself an unreasonable hatred for Orks too. The reason is unclear to him.
Skills: For the Death Korps, the only skills worth learning are those that will aid the planet in its atonement. Thus, all Krieg Guardsmen are trained in combat from a very young age; in a pinch, 415633-983223-17-Zhatka is able to use just about any basic Imperial Guard weapon proficiently, though under normal circumstances accuracy is secondary to the ability to lay down continuous fire in a disciplined formation, and is also well-trained in the use of grenades and explosives. He is proficient in rapid and skilled construction of trench works and defenses, highly useful for rapid formation of cover in a firefight, and most notably shows unrivalled skill in hand-to-hand combat, especially with the sword-bayonets all Death Korps Guardmen are drilled in from childhood; amongst a full squad of Grenadiers, a bayonet charge preceded by a wall of frag grenades is nigh-unstoppable, but as the sole Krieger in the squadron, such a charge from 415633-983223-17-Zhatka would merely be hard to put down.
History: The early portion of 415633-983223-17-Zhatka's life is simple enough to describe. He was born on Krieg, after all - his childhood consisted of standard Krieg training, up to and including mock battles on the planet's surface, and inexplicably the discovery of romance novels after about ten standard years that would teach him literacy otherwise denied a Guardsman of the Death Korps. Granted, of course, standard training for the Death Korps of Krieg is almost akin to elite training for any other planet's Imperial Guard, intense as it is; by the time he was of age to head out and fight, 415633-983223-17-Zhatka had reached a level of skill that would likely be wasted in a hail of enemy fire sooner rather than later. He wouldn't have it any other way.
That was, until he met 335729-44456-103-Egida, another soldier in his platoon. Whilst as fecklessly emotionless as any other Krieger, something about her sparked what passed for a fire in 415633-983223-17-Zhatka, and shockingly, he found himself surviving battle after battle; perhaps due to uncanny good placement in his squad and platoon, and perhaps because after every fight won and every defense overrun, he could still find her alive and well too. His experience with Krieg romance novels served well: where more socialised humans would chortle at lines ripped straight from titles such as "The Bullet that Let Me Assuage my Planet's Guilt", "I Would Also Die For You", and of course "My Wish to Generate Children with You is Only Exceeded by My Devotion to Him", 335729-44456-103-Egida was steadily wooed by them, or at least felt as much emotion over them as any Death Korps Guardsman could. They grew closer - sharing a ration pack here, discussing the best place to shoot the Emperor's enemies to kill them as effectively as possible there - and steadily developed something which might vaguely be mistaken for a relationship if squinted at from an angle.
Alas, it could not last. Their continuing survival was noticed, and as such, their veterancy led to their recommendation as Grenadiers just before a particularly tough campaign in the Vernum System, one which had been ongoing for nigh-on twenty years by this point. The final push to rid Vernum Primas of Orks was at hand, and the 382nd Siege Regiment of Krieg was on call as part of the 25th Line Korps of Krieg to soften them up and drown them in bodies - including as many Grenadiers as possible to take the brunt of the damage, of course. Naturally, such an honour literally could not be turned down, and both 415633-983223-17-Zhatka and 335729-44456-103-Egida accepted it, knowing it would ensure their demise, and that at least they would die as part of the same squad. As such, they donned the standard skull masks and carapace armour during their training drills, 415633-983223-17-Zhatka in particular drilling for his role as melta gunner, and ultimately they engaged in procreative acts with one another just once before the day of reckoning arrived.
The battle, inevitably, was gruesome beyond reckoning for the 25th as a whole, but especially for the 382nd within that. Even protracted artillery bombardment could not put down the numerous Orks entirely, and though the regiment fought and died as expertly as they ever could, they would prove unable to finish the fight alone, though the Death Korps' contribution would certainly be vital to ensuring other branches of the Guard could. In the end, less than thirty men and women of the 382nd Siege Regiment would survive, a mere two of those being Grenadiers.
415633-983223-17-Zhatka was one of them. 335729-44456-103-Egida was not. She was dismembered in front of him by an Ork's Choppa, and though she was duly avenged, the image remains in 415633-983223-17-Zhatka's mind.
And now, the Lord General Militant insists upon a "victory parade", to "celebrate" and "honour" the "good work" performed by the Astra Militarum in the Vernum Crusade. 415633-983223-17-Zhatka does not see the point. It shows the Lord General Militant's lack of efficiency. It proves the weakness of the rest of the Imperial Guard. He does not want to be honoured. He wants to fight. He wants to die fighting. Hopefully this parade will end soon enough to let him do so.
Miscellaneous: His inventory secretly includes a stash of the romance novels he has collected and read over the years. He would probably die of what is probably embarrassment if anybody found out - assuming he didn't kill them over it, anyway.
Any objections to a Krieger being forcefully committed to this platoon? Probably seeking to die over it? Maybe even with a big gun that he considers infinitely more important than himself?

Hello, ladies and gentlemen! If you're reading this, there's a good chance you've come here from The Grim Crusade, a game I'm currently GMing where the galaxy of Warhammer 30000 has changed greatly from canon, to the point of replacing all the Primarchs in the setting with new, player-created Primarchs. However, there's a lot more going on in the galaxy than just what the Primarchs are doing, and likely a lot that the game's timeline won't cover. This thread is intended as a place for the players to log the actions of their Legion beyond their Primarch's sight, and to a lesser extent the activities of their Legion's homeworld and, if GM-approved, other people and places within the Imperium and the wider galaxy. This won't just be events occurring at the same time as the game, however: flashbacks to the earlier days of the Crusade are also perfectly acceptable, and indeed encouraged, to expand the lore of both the setting in general and of your Legion's personal interactions with others in the Imperium.
Rules
These rules are not quite identical to those in the main game thread, so please read them before making your posts.
All forumrules apply. Most pressingly out of these, if I've decided on something happening a certain way, then my decision is final unless I'm given good reason to change my mind.
Do not godmod. That is to say, don't control other player's characters for them without their permission. If you want to make a combined post between two or more players, or have decided between yourselves to allow a certain interaction to occur in a certain way, that's perfectly fine, but don't do stuff to other people's characters without their say-so.
As with the main game thread, I'm not too concerned about activity levels, so don't feel overly pressured to post as often as possible. However, if you're going to create a flashback or other event that does not involve the Primarchs and/or is not set in the present day of the main game, put it in this thread, not the main thread.
This is an Advanced roleplay. Please write to the appropriate level of quality - two or three significant paragraphs per post with good SPAG should be fine as a minimum, but try to come up with more if you can.
You do not need to stick to just one character per post. However, whilst I don't expect you to perfectly and uniquely characterise every individual in an Astartes Legion, I would suggest forming a reasonable personality for the characters whose perspectives you actually write from, especially if they’re one of your Legion’s major characters.
We need to know where and when any given event occurs, as well as who's involved in it. See below for the formatting template for that post.
Formatting Template
I'm not too fussed about how people write, as long as they adhere to the rules as mentioned above. However, we do need to know when and where any given event takes place, as well as who's involved with it. To that end, please place the following template at the beginning of every IC post, preferably retaining bolded headers, and fill it in accordingly.
Event Name: [The name of the event, either an official designation or an unofficial reference. This is mostly so I know how to describe it in the timeline.] Location: [Where in the galaxy this takes place. The order of precedence when listing location should be the planet, voidship, void station, or other location the event took place upon or within; the star system the aforementioned location was contained in; the sector containing that system; and the segmentum containing that sector.] Date: [The full date the event occurred or started upon, as described by the Imperial Dating System - check number, year fraction, year, millenium. As stated in the latter link, one Year Fraction is roughly 8 hours and 45 minutes on Terra.] Parties Involved: [Who was involved in the event, be it Primarchs, Legions, Adeptus Terra officials, or good old Imperial citizenry. Note that the present day events any given Primarch is involved in should be portrayed within the main game thread, and that for anyone other than the Primarchs and the Legions, you will need express permission from one of the GMs to write from their perspective; also, it stands to reason that if you intend to include a Legion or Primarch other than your own in the post, you should collaborate on the post with the owner of said Legion or Primarch.]
Q&A
What is this? Side-stories, essentially - the stuff the people not in-focus are doing in the Imperium and the wider galaxy in general, as well as flashbacks to events set before The Grim Crusade's most current events. They exist for world-building purposes, specifically when it doesn't pertain to the Primarchs in the present day.
Which people are these? For the most part, the Legions of the Primarchs created for The Grim Crusade. However, it can also be posts made from the perspectives of those on your Primarch's homeworld, or- with my or a Co-GM’s permission- the perspective of somebody outside the main scope of the Legions, such as a member of the Cult Mechanicum working on some significant project, a Custodian doing their thing, or even just a humble Imperial Armsman doing his or her duty for the Emperor of Mankind, to give a few examples. There's plenty of options, and plenty of possibilities.
What was that about flashbacks? The events of The Grim Crusade take place across a comparatively linear timeline, starting off at the climax of the Battle of Ullanor in 000.M30 and progressing forward from there. By contrast, a Chronicle may end up taking place at various points in time before then, right up to the time the Emperor first produced the Space Marine regiments that would grow to become the Legions; additionally, the galaxy is a big place, and whilst the Primarchs can't be everywhere at once, events will nevertheless progress concurrently with main game events in locations other than those the Primarchs are present for. Provided above is a template to cover timings and locations, as well as who was present for particular events in the past, amongst other things.
What's with the timeline? Basically, it's there to give a brief listing of events through the course of the Grim Crusade, primarily in the form of posts made by players both in the main thread and in this one. It may or may not end up becoming quite large, so I'll likely put down extra posts to contain it if one somehow proves itself too small.
Can I join this? It says "Apply"! Well, yes and no. This isn't specifically intended for new players to join, and the Characters tab will contain a post reinforcing this point, but if you'd like to join The Grim Crusade and build an appropriate Primarch and Legion to play as, then you'll be allowed to create posts in this thread as well, given that it follows the above mentioned rules.
