Taking Ross to the bottom floor, the supposed enemies had the same idea. Two other GMC Yukons pulled up which only spelled bad news for the trio in transport. The Ford Ranger was close by as they stepped onto the asphalt. It looked like Athena wouldn't be having a very smooth extraction after all. Pushing his head down, Athena held up her MP5, stock against her shoulder and squeezed the trigger in bursts to provide suppressing fire as she shoved Ross into the back seat of the truck. While Ellie and Ross climbed into the car, she took cover behind the bed of the truck to keep the tangos off while the truck got ready to get going.

Feeling the truck move, she moved accordingly, strafing with the truck as she continued to lay down suppressing fire. As soon as her magazine emptied out, though, she abandoned suppressing fire efforts and moved to get herself in the truck as well. Letting her sub-machine gun hang by its sling, she pulled out her pistol and fired off a few more rounds before she dove into the backseat, shutting the door behind her as the truck took off. Taking this moment, she pulled the charging handle back and changed out the empty magazine with a new one. Ensuring the magazine was seated in the gun, she slapped the charging handle into place and got ready to shoot at the pursuing Yukons.

Slowing down her breathing, she wrapped her MP5's sling around her arm to keep herself stable as she sat completely backwards in the backseat. Once the Yukon was in view, the man next to her opened fire and she had to follow suit. The rear window went completely, leaving both Athena and Ross completely vulnerable and in the open as the Ranger bobbed and weaved in and out of traffic. Once she got a good shot, she squeezed off a burst, watching the bullets collide with various parts of the front of the car. Taking more bursts, she was intending on spending this entire magazine on the car. The 9mm was not going to do much, but maybe it would've been lucky enough to hit the driver or disable the engine.

Something must've hit, because the Yukon dropped back and soon they were in the clear. Once Athena felt it was safe, she took the magazine out, which had about five or so bullets left in it. It was moving to the back of her magazine rotation as she inserted another one inside, keeping it ready just in case someone else decided to show up. Looking behind her, there were a lot of shells and empty magazines on the floor of the car. It was going to be hard to clean up... if they were going to clean this car up. She sighed a breath of relief, and took a proper seat in the car, keeping her profile low to avoid easy headshots.

Meanwhile, in the hospital, Michael had just finished up barricading up Kimberly's room with kevlar and whatever else he could find that would provide her with as much protection as possible. He even went so far as putting kevlar vests all over her body to make sure nothing would get hit. There was going to be a lot of gunfire, which was why this wing of the hospital was isolated. An order from the private security firm had moved everyone that could be moved out of that wing of the hospital. Better safe than sorry. That was also why Maria, Michael, and Athena's vest had "SECURITY" sprawled across the back. Once the police got here they wouldn't be shooting them by accident.

Taking defensive positions behind tipped over hospital beds, they were listening for footsteps as they held their assault rifles up in the hallway in front of them. The only way to that room were through those hallways, and there were guns pointed down each hallway. It was a funnel of death. It was nothing but silence, until the faint sound of footsteps and moving guns were heard in the background. It was almost go-time. It was almost time to let loose.

Seeing the first person emerge from the corner, they were holding fire as they walked down menacingly, a submachine gun in hand. Michael was holding fire until they got closer. He could see them, but they couldn't see him. Just a few more feet... and the first shot was fired from his SCAR. Hitting him in the chest, every single one of those suits scrambled for cover behind whatever measly desk they could find. However, he had the bigger gun with the bigger cartridge. Seeing one mook emerge, he adjusted accordingly and took him as soon as his head poked out. The process was repeated with every person that was dumb enough to try to go up against the seasoned Navy SEAL. He knew every move they were going to make before they made it. Attempts to suppress weren't going to work since his bullets were going to be able to go through whatever they had taken cover behind.

On the other side, Maria was handling things splendidly. It was like shooting fish in a barrel as mooks started to flood in and were mowed down as soon as they came in. Cops were probably notified with all the gunfire, and soon enough this situation would be settled and contained. But for right now, defense was the name of the game. Bullets were being fired, and Michael and Maria were at no risk. These mooks were just outmatched... even though they were outnumbered. Soon enough, sirens could somehow be heard over the gunfire which meant that this little defense was going to end very soon.

Taking a few more shots, the gunfire was soon stopped. Bodies of many mooks were on the ground. But, more footsteps were heard. Either it was LVPD making their way up the stairs, or it was another wave of mooks. Michael and Maria both had to be careful about how they were going to go about this. Once the footsteps got louder, Michael saw a barrel poking out. He got ready to shoot if he needed to, and so did Maria. Luckily, though, the barrel turned the corner and as it turned out, it had belonged to LVPD SWAT. Putting his gun down and standing up, he put his hands up as the police officers identified themselves. Maria followed suit. Hopefully the police knew they were the good guys and that they did what they had to do to protect their asset.

While the ordeal had been happening, Ellie was busy cowering in fear. She had never ever even been to a gun range, now she was dodging bullets and holding one in her pants. What the fuck was going on? After the gunfire had settled, she needed to know what the fuck was happening. Ross was a good friend of hers, but there was no excuse for what had just happened. Everyone's lives had just been put into danger. Michael's story had done little to make sense of what had happened.

Seb was rightfully pissed, and so was Ellie. Their life had been put into so much danger just now. Just a few hours ago they were thinking that they were going to be enjoying some drinks in Vegas, and now they were on the run from criminals. Ross was going to go on a soliloquy but one thing didn't add up to her. "Wait... daughter-to-be...? How...? What?" Ellie was very confused. Kimberly didn't look pregnant at all the last time she saw her. Certainly not pregnant enough to figure out the gender of their baby. What did he mean by daughter-to-be? He wasn't the type to have an affair. Ellie wasn't that good at math, but even she knew it didn't add up.

"Kimberly's pregnant. Very, very early. It's what saved her life." Athena butted in, before turning back around to look out the back of their truck. "O-Oh. Oh. Congratulations, but Ross, it still doesn't take away in the fact that you put me and Seb's life in danger!" She gestured to the shells rolling around on the floor of their truck, "Are you not seeing these shells? There were bullets flying around in this truck! Just a few hours ago the only flying around we did was on the slope, and now we were literally inches from death!" She rubbed her head, before listening to Seb's take on the issue.

Everything he said had made sense... but seeing the problem that Ross had gotten himself into - it was something that Ellie couldn't leave alone. As much as it was stupid to go back right into something that could get her killed, there were a lot of things that she did regularly that would get her killed as well. From another perspective, it was probably just another day on the job only instead of snow and heights it was guns and bullets. Tuning out of whatever Ross was saying, she was going to have to think it over as they drove to Arizona.

In the meantime, Athena received a text on her phone, sighing in relief as she read the message. "Kimberly's okay. Maria and Michael defended her just fine and now LVPD is involved. She should be having the last of her surgeries very soon. According to the doctors she's ahead of schedule." Ellie sighed a breath of relief, before a thought had poked into her head. "So, another baby, huh? How's that make you feel, Ross? Your hands are going to be very full in a few months."

A few hours later, the truck had finally arrived in Phoenix, Arizona, more specifically at the trailer that Ross had mentioned earlier. Parking the truck quite a distance away, the group of four had finally made it to the trailer with all of Seb and Ellie's gear on their back. It was the least the group could do to return the favor to the unwilling Europeans. Athena was the first to go inside, followed by Seb. But before Ross could go in, Ellie put a hand out and pushed him aside with a surprising amount of force. She coerced him to the side of the trailer and took a seat on the ground. It was a long day, and Ellie wanted answers to her questions.

"Ross... what the fuck, man? What were you thinking? Why did you get me involved in this shit? This isn't the kind of stuff that me OR you should be getting involved in anymore. Sure, when we were kids, getting chased out by a store owner was regular shit. But that was when we were kids. When we were kids... hell my hair was brown!" Ellie said, before sighing, "I never would have thought that I'd be standing here in Arizona hiding from criminals. It's something out of an action movie, almost."

"Look, I don't know if I should help you or not. It's not a question of if... it's a question of should. Should I be helping you? I don't know. You tell me."
Packing her things inside the back of their truck, Ellie had found herself in her regular outfit. A red flannel, a pair of jeans, and a pair of cute little boots she found online. Of course, she had outfits for the contrasting heat of the Las Vegas desert. Ellie was excited for drinks and some time in a very nice hotel. The two deserved the rest. Ellie hadn't been back in her Vancouver home in a very long time. At this point, she probably should invest in a house located somewhere down south. Maybe Washington? Oregon? Somewhere that snowed.

Climbing into the passenger seat, she got ready for the seven hour drive ahead of them. Even though Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe were in the same state, over 451 miles separated the two. It took the same amount of time to get from the Bay Area to Las Vegas as it did from Las Vegas to Lake Tahoe. Of course, Ellie wasn't going to be in the passenger seat the whole time. At some point she was going to switch off and Seb and do the driving there.

The truck headed out on the long road ahead of them, and Ellie got comfortable and caught some shuteye to rest up for her leg of the trip. That was, until her phone started buzzing in her pocket.

Waking up about halfway into her trip, she pulled out her phone and saw that dear ol' Ross was calling. Strange. They just saw each other a few days ago. What could he have wanted at this moment? Swiping on her brand new Galaxy S7, she put her phone up to her ear. Just on the first word, Ellie could tell what was up. It wasn't good, and what he said afterwards confirmed it. The hospital? What would they be doing in a hospital? Whatever it was, it couldn't have been anything positive.

Ellie nudged Seb, "That was Ross. We need to step on it and get to eh..." Ellie soon received a text with the address of the hospital, before relaying it back to Seb. "Looks like those drinks will have to wait."

"I got bad news for you, Ross." Maria, the combat medic, spoke up upon hearing Ross's request, "We can't move her. She's hooked up to far too many things and she's got far too many casts, braces, and all that stuff to make moving her a reasonable option. She's going to have to stay where she is. Otherwise something will fu..dge up and will probably seriously hurt Kimberly and the baby." She looked down at Mia, smiling at her, "Mia, though, we can handle very easily. She'll be far away from here and she will never ever see a gun in person. She'll be the safest two year old there is on this planet. Isn't that right, Mia?" Mia smiled back at her, before continuing to do her two year old things.

"Athena can take care of logistics and get us armed and have the ability to defend both of you. LVPD's investigation is still pending and they will not send extra units for defense tonight. The only occasion they'll send units is when they actually get here, and by then it'll be far too late." Michael said, before clearing his throat, "We'll be giving you something as well. We don't expect you to move around but we expect you to defend yourself considering that you're here, present, and coherent." The Navy SEAL warned, before the NYPD officer sighed. More hoops and loopholes she'd have to find. Nice.

Because of this plan, the Rossi family would most likely have to move somewhere safe. Probably book themselves into a hotel and hole up there for a bit while the experienced members did their thing. However, though, the idea of Ross's associate was going to be very intriguing. A criminal, eh? Why would Ross know a criminal? Odd. But they weren't gonna question it. If it was going to ensure the safety of their family member then it was what it was.

A few hours later...

Ellie Dorian had finally pulled arrived at the hospital they were supposed to be in. Parking was a bitch, as usual, and considering the supposed severity of the situation, she was not too happy about it. Walking in, she had to ask reception where Ross Hartley was. They were so kind as to let her know where he was once she gave her name to the receptionist. Finding her own way down the hallways, she arrived in the room and saw something that was kind of disturbing and worrying, and it was definitely nothing that she wanted to see..

Ross was there, looking like he had been through hell and back. But, what was even worse was the woman in the bed next to him. Was that... Kimberly? She couldn't tell with all the pipes through every orifice in on her face, but she was sure it was her. What the fuck had happened? Why were the both of them so injured and in this situation? Worst of all, why were there three people with guns in the room with them? What was happening? She was thoroughly confused.

"Uh... what's happenin'?"

Michael, dressed in operator gear, had pointed to the seat next to her. "Take a seat, we've got some explaining to do."

Ellie was a little frightened, but after the long story being summarized to her, she was more understanding of what was happening. But she wasn't understanding her role in this. Why was she brought here to this hospital to this room? It wasn't clear to her, but it was soon about to be. Athena was peering out the window, before finding three GMC Yukons, looking just like the ones that caused the incident pulling up outside. Upon further observation, armed men had poured out of the SUVs. They were coming to finish the job.

"Looks like the party's starting. Get ready." She warned, before pulling the extra pistol out of her vest and chucking it to Ross. She gestured to Maria, who also had an extra pistol. "Oh no. I don't know how to use a gun." Ellie put her hands up, afraid that she was going to have to use it, "Keep the gun pointing toward the bad guys. There." She said, before tossing the pistol to her. Ellie had caught it, taken by surprise by the sheer weight of it, before putting it in her pants as a result of a lack of alternatives.

Athena walked over to Ross and picked him up, slinging his arm over her as she pulled out her pistol. "C'mon, we gotta get you outta here. We have quite a ways to go down to the garage."

Ellie was bobbing and weaving through the trees like she was Muhammad Ali against some punches. It was a very foresty section, but it was nothing that Ellie hadn't dealt with before. Years and years of snowboarding experience had done that to her. She could conquer the most treacherous of courses on the very first time. The winter olympics was in the cards at some point, but Ellie did have other things she wanted to take care of first. Her window was wide open and she was willing to take as much as time as she wanted before she wanted to gun for the most popular winter sports show in the entire world.

Nearing the end of the slope, she kicked it into high gear. Lowering her center of gravity, it meant all the weight was pressed down and she was about to go faster. Of course she had the very slight risk of running into a tree, but she was smart enough to dodge them. The forest section didn't last for much longer, and soon it was just a straight line down to the very bottom of the peak. It was a good ol' fashioned drag race down to the bottom. Who was going to be the first across the line? The 6'0" snowboarder or the 5'10" skier? Ellie could feel the momentum stack on and on. Perfect for gaining speed to carry her across the line first.

A few moments later she had reached the bottom of the peak, diverting her momentum laterally to slow herself down to a dead stop. Looking around, she was sure that she was going to enjoy some free drinks when they got to Vegas. Of course, there was a lot of powder that was yet to settle down. Maybe Seb had somehow beaten her. Unlikely, but there was still a chance.

Michael grimaced as he heard the story that Ross was telling. It was better than nothing, but it wasn't what he wanted to hear. Rubbing the bridge of his nose, he then moved to his face. He was trying to think of something. The only people that knew who were behind this job was Kimberly herself, and she wasn't going to be speaking for a long time. Leaning back in his chair, he was thinking up of a plan. For now, they were in a rut. Nobody knew anything. Not even Athena's contacts in LVPD knew anything. It was a bad situation all around.

"Kimberly? She's recovering from surgery but she won't be waking up for a while. I've heard that there might be something else that might really complicate things, according to Sarah." Michael coughed a bit and put his hands through his hair. "In any case, there's a good chance they might come to finish you off here. Based on the way these things go, they're probably trying to figure out where you are right now and coming for you sometime soon. But, LVPD doesn't have any evidence, so they're not gonna send protection, which means the only people able to protect you properly in here are in this room."

He leaned in close, the Rossi sisters in the back standing against the window with their arms crossed looking real tough while he lowered his voice. "We're gonna protect you and Kimberly, but there's only three of us and two of you. One of you is going to be underprotected." He looked behind, "And it makes more sense to protect the one who isn't even conscious, right? Unless you've got someone else to help us out."

Just on cue, Sarah, the trauma surgeon (not for Kimberly, though), showed up with Mia in her hand. Mia was confused as to why daddy was looking the way he was, but she didn't care, it was daddy and daddy was life. She climbed up on the bed and curled up to her father, unknowingly pushing his elbow into his injured rib. She sat up against him, using his torso to prop herself up and looking up at all the aunts and uncles in the room. Her hair was in a little bun as was tradition whenever she hung out with Aunt Sarah, and she was wearing a little cardigan and white/pink pants with stripes on them. What were they all here for? Were they all here to play with her? Mia had that "the more the merrier" mentality. Such was life for a two year old.

Michael looked at little Mia, and then back at Ross, "Well? Got anyone? Or do you want to handle yourself?"

But before Ross could respond, Sarah was pulled out of the room by a doctor and given some information that would definitely change the perspective of pretty much everything ever and everything that they set out to do. She was able to receive this information as Kimberly's medical proxy. Who would be better for the job of taking care of Kimberly's medical stuff when she isn't able to than her surgeon of a sister?

"Well. We just figured out why Kimberly survived when she shouldn't have." She looked at Mia, then back at Ross, "Looks like Mia's going to be an older sister. This doesn't explain too much but it gives us the reason why."

"Well, sh- I mean darn!" Michael looked at Mia who was glaring at him for almost uttering a naughty word. "That screws things up... if you got a man for this job you better get him here soon. I have a feeling they're gonna be here tonight. We have the rest of the day to prepare."
Sliding down the slippery slope (literally), Ellie maintained a careful, but brisk pace as she went down the previously unconquered path. There were a ton of jumps, rocks, and trees that could definitely provide for risk and thrills. Just the way the Scottish-Canadian skier wanted it. Powder was gonna fly up, despite it being actually pretty thin. It was going to foster a very fun environment and one that would actually challenge and stimulate the seasoned snowboarder's mind.

Coming up on a little makeshift ramp, she took the jump gracefully, getting some serious air. It was enough air between her and the ground that she was able to pull off a 180 before coming back down to Earth. Feeling the powder kick up as she landed, she flipped herself around and continued down the most direct way down to the bottom of the peak. The speed was collecting the farther she went directly down the slope. The longer she did this, the more risk she had when it came to crashing. Sure, Ellie liked her risks but she also knew when she was going too far.

Her internal speedometer had determined that she was going too fast according to the patented Ellie Dorian Scale of Speed™. As a result, she diverted and started a serpentine pattern to slow down. Rerouting the momentum laterally should definitely help her slow down. As well as hitting this sweet jump coming up ahead. Catching some air once again, Ellie lifted her snowboard up and grabbed it midair, before letting go, landing smoothly as was the typical Ellie fashion™. From the looks of things, it looked like she was about to beat Seb.

Pigs were flying, hell had frozen over. Kimberly Emily Rossi had survived the crash the night before and was in recovery. They managed to repair everything that was threatening her life after a long, strenuous surgery. It was now a concrete scientific fact that Kimberly had the willpower of a thousand men. Of course, she wasn't completely healthy but surgeries to correct those injuries would be coming along later down the line.

Right now, she was looking like a mummy with all the splints, pulleys, and casts that were all over her body. She came in with a Glasgow Coma Score of 4, but yet there she was recovering from surgery. She wasn't breathing on her own just yet. Her lung capacity had been severely diminished, and that, along with a myriad of other things would have to be addressed on the long road of physical rehabilitation ahead of her. Additionally, there were a few other issues that were definitely going to put a wrench in the works, but those would be addressed later down the road.

Of course, Kimberly wasn't going to wake up for a while. She was far too damaged to even reenter the realm of consciousness. For the next few days she'd have to be stuck in the hospital in the bed while her injuries healed.

Mia still didn't have a clue as to what was happening even after all of this time later, which was the plan her aunts and uncles had for her. At some point she was going to have to find out, but not right now. She didn't deserve to see her mom like this. Speaking of Kimberly's family, news that Ross had woken up had quickly traveled to the Rossi family. After discussing a plan of action, three members of the family made their way to Ross, which was not too far away from where Kimberly was.

Walking into the room, they had found Ross in his room sitting up on his bed as if nothing bad had happened to him. He was one tough son of a bitch. In the room right now was Maria Rossi, a Marine Corps Combat Medic, Michael Rossi, a member of Navy SEAL Team 6, and Athena Rossi, a member of NYPD's Emergency Services Unit. They had a plan that they wanted to carry out, but Ross held the key that would assist them.

Maria, the only blonde in the room, had turned around and closed the door and blinds of the room, making sure nobody could listen in or see what they were doing. With that many people in one room, it was looking very ominous. But, nobody knew that they were all family. Whether they liked it or not (they liked it), Ross was their family. He was the husband of one of their own, and father to a member of the next generation.

Michael, in particular, was one BIG motherfucker. 6'4", at LEAST 255 lbs. He was not someone you wanted to cross, and definitely the last person anyone wanted to cross in this room. Sitting down, he had his massive hands folded and scooted up real close to Ross. At that point, you could practically smell the testosterone coming off of him. Years and years of war hardened experience definitely had that effect on people.

"You know why I'm here. You got a lot to tell us." He placed a hand on his shoulder, placing not too much weight on it but just enough to establish the severity and seriousness of the situation in their hands, "I want every detail."
Hearing the unmistakable sound of flesh and metal, Kimberly's heart sank further as she heard footsteps. She still couldn't do anything from this position. As her condition worsened, she started losing consciousness as the footsteps got louder and louder. Soon enough, Kimberly's entire world had shifted. No longer was she looking at the wrecked remains of her car.

When they said that your life flashed before your eyes moments before death, they weren't wrong.

"Dispatch, you got a location on the 401B earlier? We're in the area but we need an exact location."

The ambulance had just turned off of the strip and toward the industrial area of Las Vegas. The sirens were blaring, and every single car in its way was pulling to their right. Good. That meant that the paramedics would be having an unobstructed path to whatever they were responding to. An automobile accident at this time of night? Probably some unwise drunk drivers doing what they usually do and getting into crashes. Typical, but it wasn't anything that these paramedics hadn't seen before.

"Alright. I've got a location. Thank goodness they left the line open. It's right next to Bernardo's Pawn Shop. I think in the alleyway.

"Copy that dispatch, we're on our way.

The emergency response vehicle made a turn and wailed down to the pawn shop. Lucky for these paramedics, they knew the city like the back of their hand. That's what many years on the job and responding to various cases all over the city did to you. Knowledge not many other people in the city had. It was going to help them figure out where these people were. Closing in on Bernardo's, the paramedics had seen the tell-tale tiremarks. But for whatever reason, it looked like it was coming from more than one source. Multiple car accident? Why would they be in the alley, then?

The closer the ambulance got, the more suspicious things started to get. Luckily police and firefighter units were not too far behind them. Pulling up into the alley, it was a very grisly scene, but also one that didn't add up. Two crashed cars, but one car was crumpled from three sides and the other one was crumpled only from one side. The paramedics were perplexed, but that was something the police officers would have to handle.

Getting out of the ambulance, the paramedics pulled out their carts and went in to examine the victims. One went to tend to the man, who didn't look too bad, especially compared to the woman inside the incredibly fucked up car, who was cold to the touch but somehow still breathing and barely had a pulse. The paramedic looked to their partner, who signaled that the other person was also still alive, somehow. Now the problem was getting the woman out of the car in time to get her stabilized and rushed to the hospital.

Firetrucks and police cruisers soon pulled in, and started to assist with the recovery effort.

Lake Tahoe, Nevada

Somehow, at this time of year, there was still powder and snow on the mountains of Lake Tahoe. It was toward the end of winter, but the climate had been generous this year to extend the length of prime skiing season. The officials at the ski resort had been gracious enough to open up the area for them at this time of night. It was nobody but them, and a couple of officials that Seb and Ellie had agreed to pay graciously to open it up for them. After spending a lot of time carving down the slopes on skis and snowboards, they were at the top of the last peak of the resort. Ellie was sitting on the top, butt on the snow as she looked down at what looked to be a very treacherous, but also very fun-looking descent.

It was a good break from all the hijinks they had gotten into lately. From street racing to jumping out of planes in Europe, all the way to reuniting with a childhood friend. It had been a wild few months for Ellie and probably Seb as well, so it was a good feeling to use their hard-earned money to go back to their roots and get in touch with what got them all the way to the top in the first place. It was just them. For the first time in forever, there were no other cameras than the security cameras the resort came with. No GoPros, no vlog cameras, not even a Snapchat or Instagram story. It was just them, their snow gear, and the snow itself.

"You ready for this, Seb?" She asked curiously, before putting her goggles on. "Wait, how about we make this more interesting?" Ellie looked down at her white jacket and black pants before leaning over to poke Seb. "Loser has to buy drinks when we get to Vegas." She got off her butt, before slowly starting to roll down the slope. "Let's go!"

These were one of the many times where it was good to have such strong family ties. As soon as Kimberly was admitted into the hospital and rushed into surgery, barely hanging onto life by the bare skin of her teeth, the entire Rossi clan poured into Las Vegas within half an hour of finding out. By the time they arrived, Kimberly was about three quarters of the way through being operated on and having her numerous injuries fixed, if they were able to be fixed.

It was a miracle that Kimberly survived. However, it was not smooth to the hospital the whole way. There was a time where the paramedics had lost Kimberly's pulse and she had to undergo resuscitation. Luckily for her, though, it was smooth sailing from there after that slight hiccup.

If someone like Ross were to be there, then he would be seeing the whole clan there. From their father, all the way down to baby Mia. Just based off of the description of the injuries alone, and the description of the incident, it was clear to them that a member of their family was in trouble. And not just because of how Kimberly was in surgery. It was trouble that nobody wanted to be in. The trouble extended far further than one of their own barely clinging onto life, and already plans and strings were being formulated and pulled to figure out who was behind this.

Kimberly was lucky enough to have two siblings in the military, one in law enforcement, and one who happened to be a trauma surgeon, which meant information was coming in whenever they wanted. It was going to be a long ride. A long ride for Ross, a long ride for the Rossi family, and a long ride for Mia. Mia had no idea what was happening and why she was in a hospital, the little girl was busy staring at a little iPad and watching her shows. It was better that she didn't know. Not at this time. She didn't need to know that she very well could lose her mom at any second.

Hopefully Ross would be coming soon, as there would be a lot of questions that needed answers. According to murmurs, his injuries weren't as severe as Kimberly's. Which was good, vengeance was in the cards for each and every single one of these people, and Ross held keys that would help vengeance be carried out.
I'm still around don't you worry
