I mostly enjoy writing in the Casual section of the guild. Character development and exploring character relationships motivate me. I like to really think myself into my character and their view on others and the world around them which is why I prefer to stick to one character per roleplay. I love world-building but I am also easily overwhelmed with very detailed concepts I haven't been met with before. So you could say I love a decent amount of world-building and prefer original builds. Once everyone has settled, expanding that world and its concept is a great way to create more depth and keep me as a player hooked as I love to discover new things!
My favorite genre is and has always been fantasy. I guess you could say I love escapism to a point where I like to flee the mundane world entirely. I also feel drawn to sci-fi roleplays but I have noticed that those usually intimidate me. I feel like I am not adept at writing about technology and all that sci-fi goodness so I mostly just pine over how awesome some OOCs look and never apply to them.
When it comes to fantasy I feel right at home. For my mind, it is much easier to grasp magical concepts and worlds than sci-fi ones. As a result of this, all the worlds I write up (be it here as a GM or elsewhere) tend to be fantastical in one way or another. I especially enjoy adventure RPs and witch RPs. I like to see new magical systems and am always eager to learn more about the worlds I RP in.
Additionally, all my characters are queer, always. Since I am queer myself and can't imagine playing straight ^^
Although the days of witch hunts are long past us, life isn't roses. While the upcoming election is threatening witches with a potential anti-witch politician claiming the title of president, unrest is stirring in the corners of the world. A rise in threats has been detected - unnatural beings, magical beasts, and other supernatural phenomena pull media attention and feed directly into an anti-witch campaign.
A D&D One-Shot. A group of adventurers is hired to find the missing grandson of a wealthy couple visiting the town. He was taken by a mysterious knight who rode his horse into the deadly woods nearby, taking the young boy with him. But the knight is not a simple man, he is said to be a resurrected ghostly figure forever in search for a squire, kidnapping young boys who never return home.

I always write my IC posts in gray due to finding the white color pretty straining on the eyes.
@Erklings25 Do you want the captain to have professional (or not) relations to the crew members that have been there with him for a while?? Do you wanna discuss relations with all your crew members?? If you would like to talk about the climate between him and Jessa, you surely can PM me.
@ all: You can PM me if you think your character would know Jessa already and you wanna discuss relations between them.
@Jiatsu Hoshido For the picture issue, you can simply post them to Twitter or Pinterest or whatever. You could make a throwaway account for that sake. And then after posting you copy the url and use it to put the images into your RPG site. That's how I do it when I have pics I wanna use but can't find them or bother to look for them on the internet. I have always post them on Pinterest very randomly just to have an url.
This seems very fleshed out and like you have a decent enough plan to get all of us killed 😂😂 Can our characters die in this RP? Will there be a drawn map? Cause the islands sound amazing and I'd love to see a map of some sort.
Really good work. Is GM a fleshed out character? This is just pire interest. She sure has reasons and probably a mental illness that makes her drag people to those islands and play her games.
If characters are able to die (get eliminated) in this RP, I can see myself being the first to drop dead. ^^
"Oh hello PapaSong, I'm so glad you came. Let's begin the interview. What's your real name? First and last please."
"Is this supposed to be some kind of joke? I already gave my details when I created an account and I sure as hell didn't forget my account details. Whatever. Rowan Kennicot."
"Ah, I see, okay how old are you?"
"Trying to see if I violated the terms of service or whatever? This isn't some adult website or mature rated game or something. I'm twenty-five."
"Hmm...This is more personal but what's your sexuality?"
"Are you sure this isn't some kind of stupid weird joke? You gonna ask for my credit card number next? Maybe my social security or government I.D.? How is this at all relevant to...whatever the hell this is? Ugh. Absolutely pointless. But if you *must* know I'm..you know...not strictly straight. That's all you're getting."
"Are you a man or woman?"
"Was the name not a dead give away? I'm a woman."
"What do you look like? You can send a picture of describe yourself, though an image will help me more."
"I'm surprised you can't just hack into my webcam or some shit. I dunno what you're capable of or what sort of game this is. I don't really do life sims or games like this. Whatever, I'll include a photo if it'll make it easier."
"What's your occupation?"
"I know, it looks like I'm a student with that enclosed photo, right? That was taken during college but the only different now is that I weigh a couple pounds more - thanks to the fast food that's clearly in the photo that went straight to my thighs - and my hair is just as short. But I'm not a student. I'm a baker. Businesswoman. I co-operate a bakery. And it consumes most of my time."
"How would you describe your personality?"
"Me? I'm not sure I would; that's like when they ask kids to use five adjectives to describe themselves but that's what they do to teach kids what an adjective is. Is that what you want me to do? Come up with some adjectives? Because I'm not going to do that. My co-worker once told me I'm overly serious because I don't have a great sense of humor but I think there's a difference; just because I don't laugh at bad jokes doesn't mean I lack a sense of humor. I'm just focused. I set goals and I accomplish them what's wrong with that? It may not leave me with much in the way of hobbies but what's wrong with that? I take enjoyment in what I do. I'm assertive. Somewhat. Which is a nice way of saying that I sometimes don't think before I speak and that leads to trouble - particularly when I insult customers. I guess I'm lacking a bit in social graces but I get on well enough. I've got a sharp mind for numbers and memorization and pattern recognition.
So I'd describe my personality as...decently complex. Which is to say I'm often stressed and in need of a reliever. Which is probably why I play games."
"How tall are you? How much do you weigh?"
"Now you're getting real personal. 5'6" and...the last time I checked I was around uh...one fifty two and a half..."
"What's your favorite color?"
"Purple. Next question."
"What type of person interests you romantically?"
"Feminine. Take that as you will. I like them...cutey."
"This question can be skipped, but it's most essential to my study so I'd prefer an honest answer. Know that you're in a safe place here with me, no one else will ever have to know. Do you have any physical/mental disabilities? Any traumas?"
"If it can be skipped, I'm going to skip it. Fuck your study. My traumas or whatever are mine to know. There's a line and you're not crossing it."
"What gaming genre do you prefer to play when feeding your addiction?"
"It's not an addiction, it's a hobby. There's a very clear difference. I don't just play games all the time. I could go without it. It's not like drugs or porn or whatever addictions people on those shows have. Why am I getting so defensive over this? Whatever. MMOs, but only PvP and top tier raiding and tactical strategy games. There's no fun if there's no competition. I tried playing shooters but somehow MMO voice chats are less creepy."
"Share some of your history with me."
"I was born. I grew up. My parents got a divorce. I blamed myself. They did too. I lived with my aunt. My mom blamed my aunt for 'influencing me' because my aunt was dating someone else's aunt. I graduated high school. I was in the band and the choir but had to give up both because my college didn't have room for me on either team. My dad tried to reconnect with me at my graduation but he got kicked out of the ceremony because he was drunk and shouty. I went into business with my college room mate and best friend. I live with her and her husband where I feel like a third wheel. Sometimes they try to set me up on dates. I need a new place. Such an interesting life story. I'm sure it's riveting."
"Your strengths?"
"I'm pretty sure I covered the majority of this in that weird personality part but who really reads all this stuff anyway? I could put anything here it's all an automated process anyway. If you must know my greatest strength is that I get shit done. I may not have graduated at the top of my class but ever since opening the bakery I've made sure we never missed a payment to the bank or utilities and I have what some can call a competitive spirit. I think that's why it's hard for me to connect to people. I see a lot of interactions as a competition. Oh my god maybe it is an addiction."
"Your fears and weaknesses?"
"If I have a weakness it's my lack of social etiquette. I don't get out much, work takes a lot of my time and then so do raid nights which can last hours. I fear that what my roommate-slash-friend-slash-business partner says is true. That my own admittedly potentially off-putting personality will make me like my mother in the end. Bitter and in a loveless relationship surviving only via a bottle and a loveless child. Christ how bleak. How did I ever start talking about this."
"What role do you play in your games?"
"Tank. Check my profile. I'm in the top percentile of tanks in my region. I know my rotation better than I know my own PIN. I've hosted tanking seminars in game for noobs. And I know not to stand in fire and how to use cooldowns. Plus I only blame the healer if they deserve blame."
"What do you hope to gain by participating in my game?"
"I'm not even sure what this game is. I'll play long enough to get bored I suppose. Which is happening rather quickly."
"Oh hello DreadfulDoom, I'm so glad you came. Let's begin the interview. What's your real name? First and last please."
The girl in front of the screen showed a slight frown on her forehead. The interview had already gotten pretty personal. A real name? These days real names didn't interest most people. Writing it down she could feel that the lack of using it has made her feel somewhat strange towards it. "Alycia Demetria Roels."
"Ah, I see, okay how old are you?"
That wasn't a too odd questions. Many games asked for age, mostly to make sure you are over 18, or in some cases over 21. Though you could always just put a wrong age, no one checked on it, no one cared. She typed in her answer. "I am currently 24 years old."
"Hmm...This is more personal but what's your sexuality?"
That was kind of very odd. She didn't remember a game that asked her for this. She knew of some dating games that required this, but she never played any of those kind. They would offer a various amount of lovers to choose from and then play out virtual dates or something like that. She didn't really know. Alycia thought about it. Her sexuality... She had a relationship with a woman once. It was weird, because it was all online. But was she really gay? Would she wanna be with a man? She thought to the female characters she met and realized that she could all too well tell of their features and their beauty and felt incredibly bored by all the male characters' looks. She also knew that if she thought about touching a woman's skin she felt a lot more excited than when thinking about a man. She typed an answer. "I am interested in women."
"Are you a man or woman?"
Every game she ever played asked this of her. She always choose to be her own gender. "Powerful female."
"What do you look like? You can send a picture or describe yourself, though an image will help me more."
Alycia frowned some more. Send a picture... A real life picture. She had been asked this several times, from men and women both, she had always declined. Perverts. Just one time... one single time... things had been different and she had sent one. She looked at the file that kept all the pictures of herself on her PC and chose the only one that was recent. It had been a favor for her girlfriend. It felt so far gone now. "This is all you get of me."
"What's your occupation?"
Strangely enough Alycia's mind went straight to hacking. But no. That wasn't her occupation. That wasn't what brought the money in. Though she wished it did. "I work for DATYR - one of the largest 'we have everything'-stores, completely online, shipping free. You must know the commercials, 'Delivering all things you require!', right? I mostly sit at the desk at the PC, do lists, check things, help customers online, make delivery times and dates, make sure the time for the delivery trucks is used the best way, sometimes someone even calls. But that's rare. They call me when there's a problem with the site. They call me when there's a problem with the printer (we don't even print, what do we need a printer for!?). I've got time to game on the side though."
"How would you describe your personality?"
Her personality. Her real life personality. It would be much easier to describe her characters in the games she played. What was she like? In the real world, what was she like? "Passionate. Emotional. I like to think I am nice, but I can be quiet sassy too. I am strong minded, I know what I'm worth. I am reasonable and I like discussions to learn about the other person and what drives them. I like to observe people, find out what drives them and - if needed - how I can control them or manipulate their thinking. Does that make me a bad person? Maybe I'm a bad person. Write that down! I am animal friendly, though. I mean I think I am. I haven't seen one in forever. In games I am, I don't kill them if not absolutely necessary. I am curious. I wander off a lot to explore the worlds I play in. And I like stories, I like to read. And I mean, really read. I have a book. A real book, with pages and all. It's hidden. Don't even think of stealing it, I'll kick your ass. Mmm so I guess I am also protective. Or aggressive? What would you call it? I try not to get into fights that aren't necessary. And I think I am a little flirty. But I have never flirted with someone face-to-face."
"How tall are you? How much do you weigh?"
Alycia stared at the screen. And got up. It took her fifteen minutes to find out how tall she was and what her weight was. She hadn't known that information before now. She wondered what they needed this information for. "I am 5'4'' weight 138."
"What's your favorite color?"
That was easy, but once again it left her wondering what this was needed for. She decided to ask. "It's lightblue. For what is this information required?"
"What type of person interests you romantically?"
She was left being ignored. Maybe the questions were computer driven and the program couldn't answer to any questions? She thought about the question she just got asked. Romantically? A person? In real life again, right? Her mind went to the one girlfriend she used to have. What made her let down her guard and trust this person? "Close my age! I am not one for a big age gap. I like honest people, honesty is important. I like smart ones, not exactly school smart, just someone who can tell when they're wrong and can appreciate learning new things from each other. Someone clever and a little spontaneous. I like emotions, so I guess someone who is able to show me they care and aren't feeling weird to show someone that we're a thing. Respect is important. We're equals and they need to know that, respect my decisions, my feelings, just like I will always respect theirs. I like people who know when I am upset, so I guess someone who pays attention. I need someone who supports me in my goals, my destination and is interested in my life. Not that my life is any kind of interesting. I'd love a woman who likes to show me off sometimes and keep me to herself other times. She should accept my flaws, but not ignore them. I am willing to grow, but not change my all to be 'perfect' for someone. Very important, I need someone who is not running away, but will talk to me and try to fix problems instead of suddenly going distant or even breaking up. Communication is important. And sexy."
"This question can be skipped, but it's most essential to my study so I'd prefer an honest answer. Know that you're in a safe place here with me, no one else will ever have to know. Do you have any physical/mental disabilities? Any traumas?"
Safe place. Alycia almost laughed out loud. The internet wasn't a safe place. She knew that. She was one of the reasons that it wasn't. Where would traumas even come from these days? Ordering 3 instead of 4 pair of shoes online and having to wait another day for the 4th pair to be delivered? "No."
"What gaming genre do you prefer to play when feeding your addiction?"
Now a smile crept onto Alycia's lips. She was already expecting this question and was ready to answer it. Hopefully they would bring out a new crazy game that she could test. "I like a few kind of things. I play very tiny bit MMO. Mostly I play story-driven games. Preferably one in which you have to solve some sort of mystery, maybe escape somewhere while doing so. I like a story where the plot is revealed bit after bit and leaves me wondering 'why, what, how, when'. I like when those games involve puzzles. Like walking around and figuring out where to do what to get to the next section of the story. But I also play a bit of games that involve creating a character, choosing a side to fight on and fight against others in a team. I like to play some games where you get quests, but can run freely around the world, don't need to but certainly can interact with other online players. I hope that answers it."
"Share some of your history with me."
Alycia started to chew on her inner cheek now. History? What was there big to tell? "I have a mother, I have a father, we chat sometimes. I'm an only child. I grew up like a normal kid, lived like a normal kid. I have my bunch of online friends that I sometimes see in person when we meet up for gaming rounds. I was good in school. I have a decent college education. Really, my life is a boring story to tell. The most interesting thing about my history is that I learned how to write a bike and that I actually had a real book in my hands. Very interesting, eh?"
"Your strengths?"
Alycia sighed. This felt like a job interview and she always hated these sections of them. "I'm good with the keyboard. And I am not talking music. I can hack anything, no joke. I am determined, which makes me finish what I started if I set my mind to it. I am honest, yes that's a strength. I am fast on my feet, not that this is something important at all. I think my actions through, even if they seem very sudden sometimes. I am able to think in three directions at the same time, actually. I think of myself as logical, but I guess illogical people would say the same. A trait that I like is that I understand people, I can see why they do stuff." There's actually a quote she loved that described that feeling. 'In the moment when I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to defeat him, then in that very moment I also love him.' She continued to type. "I am friendly, I like to think I am likable. I am able to change my opinion if proven wrong, which is a good trait too. I am a very quick learning, I pick up on things very easily. I adapt to situations quickly. I keep an open mind to as many things as possible. And I can fight with my bare hands and feet. I'm a really good swimmer."
"Your fears and weaknesses?"
There was the other question that she hated so much. "I am easily hurt in my pride. I am sometimes a tad bit too emotional. I won't let anyone treat me like their little bitch, which can cause me looking lazy or arrogant sometimes. I overreact at times, but I try to work on that. As for fears... I am scared of being cheated on in any way by a lover (haha, not really likely to even have one), by friends, by family or by my boss during promotion time. I am scared of being misunderstood so that people think of me differently than I actually am and I can't change it anymore. I am scared of war, I would never want to live during war time, ever. I have a fear of losing myself. There was a time I forgot who I was and I am only slowly getting to know me again, so I am scared all that will get blown away suddenly and will leave me feeling like I don't know who this person is that is in the mirror. A rather personal fear is that I am scared of being inappropriately touched or talked to without consent - the talking happens way too often on the internet, the touching is just irrational because people don't even have body contact very much anymore."
"What role do you play in your games?"
"This is Alexai. She is a witch, a strong one, and she is on the evil side. She likes to cause people to suffer. But in real life I am not like that. I like to play strong female characters that can take care of themselves, but my favorite genre of games mostly gives you a fleshed out character to play with, not even letting you decide your gender, because it's a fixed story."
"What do you hope to gain by participating in my game?"
Alycia blinked. She didn't even know what this game was about. She shrugged and typed whatever came to her mind. "The lack of knowing what this is about is making it hard to have real expectations. Very obviously I am expecting fun out of it, and preferable something new to learn. That'd be cool."
"Is there anything I missed?"
The woman put on a smirk. "Yeah, to answer my question! Now what is all this information needed for?"
Alycia never got an answer back. Instead everything went black...

Latest Roleplays
▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔

The Witches of Shipden Peak (GM)

Although the days of witch hunts are long past us, life isn't roses.
