Carl primed some C4 charges off his kit belt as they glided in. As they came in he tossed them over the side, six charges, three borrowed from Ross. They rolled in quiet and smooth. He gripped the side of the buggy as they came in. Then felt his guts do a flip or three as the parachute was cut. And with a crash, they were into the mosque. "Wonderful landing." He said with a cough as he got unbelted. The surprised fighters quickly got over that surprise and began to fire. Ross got out first, lying down covering fire. Carl grabbed his FN Minimi, the M249, and hopped out of the buggy. He added his fire to Ross'. Quick 4 to 5 round bursts, ripping into those that Ross hadn't picked off. After a time he fell in beside Ross, but waved off and into a side door as Ross found cover inside the building and blind fired at fighters within. Carl ghosted off, shouldering open a side door, there had been a few things piled behind it a moment or two ago, to keep it shut. But it was no use to stop the man in the big armor. The fighters had their attention on Ross. Carl thumped forward, raising his LMG and rocked into the one man with the AK and the other two that were hiding around the corner. He pressed his shoulder against the wall beside where they were and waved Ross up. As a team them moved forward. Carl covering their flanks, Ross their front. Carl gunned down a few more fighters as they came to see what was going on. Carl growled into his mic, "Where they hell are they going to be? I don't want to walk in on them to find the Tali's have strapped bomb vests onto them. These guys already lost one of their number. I don't want to see more dead SEALs." He checked around a corner. Ducking back then a second later, pulled an AQ soldier around. Carl's big hand clamped over his mouth. The man tried to swing his fists up to box Carl around the ears, but only succeeded in bust his knuckles on the Canadian's armored head. Carl didn't feel a damned thing. Carl waited before head butting the man hard on the bridge of the nose. The soldier wailed muffledly from behind Carl's fingers. Carl waited then growled out, "Listen closely you fuck. I know you understand me. We're speaking English right now. Where are the SEALs? You tell me and I'll make sure to kill you last. You fuck me over and your death is going to be so brutal there won't be enough of you to claim those seventy two virgin men that are supposed to be waiting for you. So talk. Where are the SEALs you guys took?"
Sorry it took so long. Got distracted by actually playing the games. Didn't realize how much time had passed.
Welcome to the Unterzee, and the deep, dark, and marvelous world of Zeelife. Perhaps you came down here through Fallen London, or came down with London who knows how long ago. Or maybe you came down through the Cumaean Canals? Oh who care! You're here now. And it's not easy to leave the Unterzee when you get here. It's been thirty years. Thirty long years since London was pulled down here by forces unknown. And in those thirty years the people have grown anew. Picking a living from the deep darkness. The lights and fires keep back the crewing black. While brave zee-captains in their trusty zee-ships sail out into that Everdark to scratch a living and get the goods needed to keep London alive. They sail out, engines chugging, zailors manning the engines and the lights and guns. Food for the crew, fuel for the engine in the hold. With room to spare for anything they might come across. Blasted be they who have no room to pick up a choice tidbit huh? Did you come here for adventure? Down from the surface into this blasted black. Or were you here all along and decided that going out to zee was the next thing that life planned for you? Either way leads to folly, and to adventure, to terror and to perhaps riches. For who knows what a trip onto the Unterzee will bring you. Maybe a trip to the Salt Lions nets you a hold full of Sphinxstone, bound back to London. Perhaps while zailing your ship come across an Angler Crab. What a haul if you can bring it's shell, meat and head lights in. Just think of the Echoes that would bring from the Butcher Lads in the Bazaar. It sounds all like fun and games. But what happens when the terror and dark of the Zee over takes your captain, he draws his pistol and shoots himself and the chief engineer? Where does that leave you? Or you run out of food on a long voyage on the zee. And your only option is to begin to eat your crewmates. Do you have the stomach for that landlubber? Or do you know something of the zee and can prepare yourself for the horrors that await out there? You think so? Then step aboard lad. We've got a long voyage ahead. Food and fuel loaded. And a bunch of tomb-colonists below. We're making for Venderbight once the captain says we're clear. Hang onto your hat lad. And hold onto your lunch. The Zee is no friendly place. This is a story, about secrets. Everyone down here has a few. The Butcherlord down in the Bazaar has some, he keeps them in a secret book. The Urchins in the Flit are always trying to get it. The Devils up at Palmerston have them too. They whisper them sometimes, to get mortal men into their sway. This is also a story of ambitions. What is it that you want to do down here? Do you want to Know the Zee? Perhaps Gain Riches? Or become the Unterzee's most Venerated Explorer? That for you to decide. But mostly this is a Story of your life at Zee. What will it bring? Riches? Fame? Glory? Or will it bring your death. Sinking slowly down into the deep black of the Zee, to be caught in the pincers of an Angler Crab, or gobbled up whole by a Bound Shark? Either way let the Zee be the Zee, and zail it like you ought to. Welcome to the Crew. ----- CS Name: Gender: Age: Apperance: (Do not use Anime pictures, or pictures of celebrities if you put a picture down. Atleast a paragraph of words must be included.) Profession: (Captaincy is reserved. Unless you can give me a good reason why you think you should be the Captain) Ambition: (What you want to ultimately do down in the Unterzee. Be a pirate? Become rich off the treasures of the Zee? You decide.) Past: (no one is born a Zailor, or an officer, or a captain for that matter. Before you decided to set zail. What did you do? Were you a street urchin? A retired campaigner? A Bizarre Bazaar merchent? Dock hand? Make it long, make it short, who cares. But make it good.) ------ I am dead tired right now. I'll have my character up in the morning.
I can honestly say this is 200 percent more interest then I ever expected. We shall wait another 2 hours. See if someone else pops up. I would very much perfer to do this with atleast 4 people, 3 and myself included. But if not then the two of us will have to do. For now I leave you with some music that might set the mood. The Iron Republic awaits.
That's more interest then I thought I'd get. Welcome aboard. I leave it up to you if you want to be just a normal old Zailor on the shop or an officer. Think long and hard on this. It may just safe your life.

The Zee is no friendly place. ------- Yes this is my attempt to make a tribute RP to a game that has been ruling my gaming life for awhile. Sunless Sea by Failbetter Games, the same guys who made Fallen London the browser game, is a game based around terror, survival, luck and hope. Look it up if you don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe you'll get sucked in like I did. Anyway, in a nutshell, we'll be operating as either the officers or the crew of a zee-faring vessel. Our first trip up to Venderblight north of Fallen London. And from there, if our courage holds, beyond to places deeper out to zee. Looking for adventure, goods and the unknown. Will we make it back home to London? Or be sunk out there somewhere? Will it be riches we find? Or our deaths? That's for us to find out in the Unterzee. Maybe just maybe we'll come out of it smelling like a rose, with more echoes that we can dream of, and stories of distant shores with which to trade to those who might want it on the streets of London. It's really up to fate and the luck of the zee to tell that.
Neil snagged a handhold as he got closer to the station then pulled himself hand over hand towards Ellie. And almost started swearing when he saw her go rocketing off. He swore and nearly took off after her. But by the time he had pushed himself off Ellie and remarkably Viktor were on their way back. He boosted back to the station or well the remains of the station and crawled hand over hand to where they had landed. As soon as he reached them he sighed a sigh of relief, "Well...this walk has gone well hasn't it?" He clamped himself to one of the handholds with a karabiner, and when he heard that she was bleeding O2 he winced, "Well we need to get inside then." He followed along in the rear of the group as they crawled towards the junction door. And helped as once it was cut open, pulling on it to open it. Once inside he planted himself against a wall for a short time. Looking around and trying to get some processing done. The walk had started, the maintenance began, the explosion, needing to get back into the station. Their objective is to find supplies and get to the Makoto. all of it is happening so fast. As he leaned there he nodded. Safety would mean an escape pod, and dropping to the surface, soon at that. Getting rescued and perhaps just perhaps getting a rescue ship up to those that stayed behind, because let's face it, there are going to be people left behind. Those pods only carried two people. Maybe three if you're daring and can slip into it safely. Quietly, silently, he made a pact with himself, he was the least likely to have need to go back immediately...he'd stay behind. Of course that all depended on if they survived long enough to get to a pod and if the SpaceX ship out there is okay. He gave a push off the wall and began to search the pods he could reach, jimmying open an access hatch and crawling into one of the neighboring pods. Supplies, supplies. Air Canisters, fuel. Those were top of the list, food wouldn't do them squat with the time they had.
Neil started to put his suit on, listening to Ellie as she went through her pre-walk briefing. He nodded and smiled, he'd been out on a few walks in his time. He knew what he's doing. He would keep an eye on everyone as best he could. There as the safety tech after all. And back up on the actual maintenance they had to do. He held his helmet it under his arm, "Quick safety announcement, Ellie has last word. She's the boss. But I am the last word on safety. You do something stupid, and I can tell you to buzz off back to the airlock and back inside. I've never lost someone on a space walk. Never had any on drift off and have to go and get them from free float. I'm within 2 years of retirement. Don't break my record now." Sometime later the airlock began to cycle. Everyone suited up, ready to go out, oxygen running, glare shields set. The thruster packs for this walk distributed. Neil Stienhauer has purposefully placed himself at the rear of the column atleast for now until they reach their objective at which point he'd come up to help. But atleast back here he'd be able to watch everyone traverse the distance there. As the airlock opened and they slipped out into the void he called out to every as a reminder, "There are handholds on the station. Use those first before going free float. Push and pull yourself along, it's way safer then kicking off something and floating. You have no idea where you're going to go if you mis-time a push." Then a flash, there is no sound in space. But there is pressure, radiation and light. And it was the light that hit him first. A few minutes later Neil Patrick Stienhauer opened his eyes. He'd been knocked out? What the hell knocked you out in space? He's drifting spinning slowly on his back, he could only see the dark void out beyond. He coughed a little. And looked up, that wasn't right. He had been clipped to a handrail moments before. Which had been attached to a shaded section of the station. But now all that's there is the handrail. He turned and got his first look of the remains of the station. He'd been drifting it seems after whatever tore it apart. He floated there for awhile just looking. little blooms of sparks and flame from this or that destroyed section could be seen. It's tragic. And he figured for that first little bit that he's alone. He'd been thrown clear, was everyone else as lucky? Was he the last person left alive? Then he heard it, "Does anyone receive me?" "I hear you Ellie." Two separate voices. He heaved a glad sigh then keyed into that com line, "Ellie? Who else is that? King?" He hit his booster to get him closer to the hulk, "What the hell just happened?" He cut the thrust after a short 2 second burst, to get him moving towards the remains of the station at the least.
[Short post is short sorry] Carl adjusted his position on the Devil. Getting a little comfortable. A throw of his head brought his triclops headset down. Clicking through the view modes until he got the Night Vision Low Light mode up. He scanned ahead. Seeing the light dome from the town they are approaching. Carl nodded, "This is going to be interesting. Gotta ask, should we be strafing the place with out HVTs down there?" Carl peered over the side of the Devil, "Last thing I want is for random fire to nail the guys we're trying so hard to get out. Or for those turban headed cock suckers to put shots into them while we're buzzing around up high." He pulled the Mk19 up and into firing position as they got closer in. As they neared the town he started to be able to pick out more and more things in his NV and FLIR vision modes. Bright flares of heat signatures. Fire drums, look out posts, buildings that could be used as outposts, chokepoints etc. He growled, "That's looking pretty sketchy down there already. Lots of real estate down there that is going to make our time trouble down there. Can't see the mosque yet can you?" He flipped through his view modes, trying to get a better idea of the town. He also checked, making sure they still had those laser guided missiles. That'd make it so much more fun in the long run if he could put some extra long range fire on the town before they got there. He shook his head. "I just want to lodge a formal complaint. This is buthkiss. But this is also our job. So who do I kill first?"
