Bio
Just a small, fragile birdboy with a huge beak. I used to be Manapool, but we don't talk about those days. I have been here a while if you couldn't tell.
In all honesty, I am 25 and in a committed relationship outside of roleplay. I work as a cook who works nights. I'm a big fan of seeing people's food they make and learning about new foods if you ever want to share. I enjoy tabletop games, card games, and video games as well as reading comics in my spare time. Your typical nerd, you might even find me at conventions!
Most of the time I stick to Superhero groups and Play by post D&D here. I have admittedly begun taking far fewer rps. I prefer Fantasy and Superheroes as a genre but I find myself more and more interested in interested in Sci-fi settings too! My main fandoms are Fallout, Kenshi, and Marvel but I have a lot of niche interests like Hylics, Neopets, and Monster High. Do you have a strange fandom you want to rp? I am the kind to at least take a look at the source material!
These days I am closer to a low to mid Casual roleplayer. I want at least a paragraph from replies and don't mind dipping lower than casual if it fits the flow better. I am capable of writing decent long posts but expect me to take eons to reply. I also must warn you that I tend to lose a lot of steam in the winter months.
I will probably slowly chip away at a back story for Kirukku. I see you went ahead and put her on the registry, though. I assume that means she is approved!
Anything you would want me to change? I think the inspirations are definitely worn on my sleeve here. I do really want to see the interactions between her and Agernath. They are gonna butt heads. I have a feeling Hawke will probably get her pissed, but how long can she stay mad at that rapscallion?
Background: Ursula's upbringing was far from tragic. On the contrary, she lived in a reasonably happy and healthy family. They were never well off, and Ursula always spent her youth straddling the line of utter poverty and just being poor. She spent most of her youth drawing, painting, and distracting herself with art to express the subtle feeling of desperation she felt because of her mother. Ursula's life didn't get hard until she was eighteen. Her mother had made it clear that she would have to leave when she was an adult, but she hadn't expected her mother to leave all her belongings on the porch and change the locks while she was at work.
Ursula's life was turbulent since then. They spent years living in their car. They worked a job and tried to stay afloat, but never made quite enough money to get a start in life. It was fortunate then that she was found by a peculiar savior. A group of punks found her in a particularly sad moment, crying in her car. They offered to take her with them to a local concert, buy her some drinks, and let her clear her mind.
That moment completely changed her. She got a taste of the punk scene proper. A putrid basement bar coated head to toe in grime, graffiti, and tattered band posters. The music was loud, and it was shit, and the drinks were warm. She felt at home for the first time since she was a teen. The punks who came with her shared their exploits, both the outrageous shenanigans and their own struggles with poverty. By the end of the night, she had returned to their home, and she never looked back.
Already an artist, this communal living space, full of free love and bibations, was like a sanguine Eden for artists. She spent years with this found family, seeing the underbelly of the city, making art both on canvas and under bridges and in bathroom stalls. Her art, no longer a distraction but an exploration, gained some notoriety in the local scene. At the age of twenty-three, her dreams seemed like they were coming true.
Unfortunately, she bit off more than she could chew. She ended up paying for an art studio to produce and sell her art properly. It ended up being her downfall, as the price of rent was far too high and her art did not flow from the brush as easily as it did before. The stress turned into dread as she watched her built-up equity disappear. Her friends, who had pulled her from the gutter, now saw her as 'fake' and abandoned her. All the feelings: of betrayal, anticipation, dread, and failure, culminated in her last work of art. A piece that was bought but immediately returned, under the pretense of it being 'haunted'. With this new title as a 'haunted artist' they returned to being a 'starving artist' once they could no longer pay for their studio.
That's when the Maniacles Corporation entered her life. They sent a letter offering to buy her art, giving her exactly the money she would need to pay her overdue rent. In return, she would be a part of their experiment in Alaska. As an artist without money, friends or muse, she felt like she had no other choice.

With each following moment, the thunderous rumble got closer. Snix could feel the ground below him shake with the sheer force of whatever it was behind him. His clunky, mechanical body was slow, and he took up the rear of the group. He readied himself to catch anyone who might stumble. It was standard routine for them to be sent running. It made his blood boil that in this moment, in a brightly colored circus tent full of baby toys, he felt scared. It made him all the angrier, knowing that he was used to this by feeling by now.
Snix was taken out of his hopeless spiral when he saw the new player. He crushed his feelings down to try to put on a brave face, even if his face was lacking in features. He could not get rid of the growing unease he was feeling, even as they reached the dark sanctuary of the sofa. Once there, he leaned against a leg and collapsed, breathing heavily as he did.
"Everyone ok?"
Gangle practically collapsed in on herself when she got to safety as well, putting her hands on her knees as she tried to control her breathing. As she did, she looked up to see that there were two new people. "Hey Ragatha," She said between breaths, only to then turn to the other figure. Not knowing what to say, she merely waved to them.
"As long as there is light, there will be a shadow. Only those willing to wade in it will ever learn to use it as a cloak"
Art from Rise of the TMNT
~Basic Identity~
Name: Kim Mani Alias: Sister Kirruku Age: 28 Gender: Female Race: Human Occupation: Disciple of the Sisters of Darkness Affiliation: The Sisters of Darkness
~Core Concept~
A foil to the warrior of light, a warrior in a different way. Someone just as rigid in personality and disciplined, but different in so many ways. They see the darkness as a blessing, as a way for the weak to be on an equal playing field with the mighty.
Kirukku is a cutthroat soldier of darkness. They will not hesitate to kill or to put their life on the line, working like a mindless killing machine. This is by design, as the Sisters of Darkness mold their disciples into dauntless shock troopers.
Despite this, Kirukku is a human. Even with all the coding and training that keep her a silent assassin, she still has moments of doubt and humanity. They have taken her name, they have claimed her body as an instrument of destruction, she has pledged her undying loyalty to the dark. Yet there are some things she would simply never do.
Kirukku is not one to mince words. She sees herself as a weapon for her faction, a tool to their goals and nothing more. As such, she can come off as cold and harsh. This isn’t helped by her quick temper, the kind that reminds you that she’s killed for less.
Kirukku is an intensely disciplined woman, but her anger is an aspect of herself she has never been able to lose. It’s the most quickly grasped aspect of her personality. This is an aspect of herself she loathes but can not control. It’s a tender subject overall.
Deep down, Kirukku is like a wild animal. She clings to survival and stays cautious around everyone. She is dangerous, preferring to let actions (usually violent actions) do the talking. She lets the Elder Sisters think for her. She simply has to rely on her instincts and training and deal with the gruesome details.

I do have some homebrew systems Ive been working on but nothing's really in a state I'm proud of.
Me and my girlfriend have been brewing a goofy system we refer to as 'the beef system'. It's gone through a LOT of changes and is still far from perfect but it's ultimately made for laughs and goofing around with my homies. It's a d20 system focused heavily around my experience with 5e since when I first made the first draft I had only ever played 5e.
I've been trying to make my own neopets roleplaying game for a little while. It's probably the closest to done and also the most simple. This one is a very simple d6 system. I understand you aren't interested in niche fandoms though.
I've put the most time into a sci Fi system but I understand that you aren't interested. It's the one that would need the most play testing but is also the least finished and most complex. This one is based a lot of starfinder but with tweaks that I felt the system needed and lore changes.
I've also written up and deleted a super hero system for a d10 system. It was going to use a dot system and purchases with exp similar to vampire the masquerade but I've never been happy with that one. Would love to talk out some of those details with someone.
