With a last name like that, Sam's going to have to nickname him Warlock
It was an average Monday- or at least, what passed for an average Monday in Rome's notoriously catty high school. Gossip spread faster than the speed of light, flipping Einstein the bird the whole way. The overwhelming topic du jour? Why, none other than Diane Matthews, already christened Junkyard Jane for her utter lack of style. Not that Samantha gave a damn about her social standing- she knew she'd never be a member of the in crowd, and that suited her just fine.

Buying a BLT for herself, she plopped down next to the ostracized girl, casting a dirty look towards the Queen Beeyotch and her coterie of hangers-on. "Don't worry about Sarah, she's going nowhere. Just a loser trying on boys until she finds one that fits." Samantha put her hand out for a friendly shake. "Us misfits need to stick together. I'm Samantha, but please, call me Sam."
I'm an agnostic, but to each their own.

In RP-related news, I had an idea for a plot arc. Another student drops dead, and the coven suspects dark magic afoot, so they investigate. Where it goes from there... who knows?
I was thinking along the lines of necromancy or blood magic- I enjoy the trope of using stereotypically "evil" powers for good.
Will there be other powers available besides those on the list?
I don't care either way.
Gotcha.
@thedman I would prefer Rebecca be interviewed by Detective Greenfield, since she has a ritual she can perform, but needs the blood of a living person to do it.
Any word on our last person?

Name: Samantha Greene
Age: 16
Height: 5 foot 6
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Blue
Clothes: Tends to be more feminine in public, casual in private, and wears various all-black outfits when working with the coven, if only to fit in with the stereotype of witches. She draws the line at the pointy hat, though
Jewelry and Tattoos: A plain gold chain necklace, nothing fancy
Scars: A small scar on her right palm from an accident while learning to ride a bike

WHY are you a witch? Samantha got interested in witchcraft because she was always somewhat into the occult, although she hesitates to call herself a Goth or anything like that. Nowadays, it’s her way of being extraordinary- she doesn’t want to just blend in with the masses, and while she’s not popular, athletic, or smart, this is her way of standing out. Even if she can’t tell anyone outside of the coven about it

Her class schedule is:
1 English
2 History
3 Algebra
4 Biology
Lunch
5 Home Economics
6 PE

Personality and interests: Samantha is a wiseass through and through, but she means well. She’s interested in the more stereotypically “dark” bits of magic, like blood magic and necromancy, but knows well that what matters most in magic is intent, using spells to secretly help those around her. She tends to be the most level-headed of the coven, and is remarkably mature for her age.

General:

Likes: Magic, running, spicy food

Dislikes: Rain, being alone, winter

Quirks: drums her fingers when she thinks

Phobias
Dying

Background: Samantha isn’t a born witch, so her earliest years were pretty darn normal. She didn’t have many friends, and kind of hung out on the fringes of school society, just getting by. Then, she found the Occult Club.

At first, she thought it was an interesting idea, but then, she saw a levitating pencil and a purse bigger on the inside, and she knew it was for her. The coven took her in a few weeks ago and started teaching her. She’s still a work in progress, feeling out where her specialties lie, but the other members feel like friends already. The coven is where she belongs.

Skills / Training: Samantha has a decent head for numbers- nothing genius level, but enough that she can help with homework. Magically speaking, she can only perform the most basic spells and powers, but she’s got potential.

Languages: English

Stuff she sucks at: Cooking

Gear: None

Home Life: Being an only child, Samantha was always the spoiled little princess. Whatever she wanted, she got, and it hasn’t really stopped. She has an allowance, which she spends mostly on clothes, but she does have some money stashed away for college- she’s not completely stupid.
Home description: A small, two-story white house with a picket fence and a sizable yard. It doesn’t stand out in any way.

Family Description: Father- Michael Greene. 45, insurance salesman. Volunteers at church occasionally. A bit of a proud man, but ultimately good at heart.

Mother: Susan Greene- 44, registered nurse. Bit of a worrywart,

Dog: Murphy, Golden Retriever, Male, age 5. A Christmas present from her parents, Murphy is
Samantha’s pride and joy. She trained him more or less herself, and loves playing ball with him.

Job, if any: None, but she’s actively looking.

How do you get around? (Car - type, etc): She has a beat-up old lime green 2002 Toyota Corolla that she less-than-affectionately refers to as “Rustbucket”. She does have her driver’s license, but for shorter trips (a mile or less), she prefers to walk.
