Long ago, back when all of the monsters were first trapped under Mount Ebott, work began on a project design to power the entire underground, from hotland to snowdin, this machine was called the core. A combination of technology and magic that would not run off of fuel, Gaster was the lead scientist for the project, having made the plans and seeing through every phase of it's creation. One day, while checking on the energy levels of the core, Gaster had been checking on statistics on a clipboard, preventing him from seeing where he was going, Gaster stepped off of the platform and fell into the energy tanks of the core.
I͞ wa͠s checki̢n̛g the̶ ͘en҉e͜ŗg̀y r̢ea͘d̡ing͏s͞ ͢w̧hen I ̡fe͏ll͏,͞ ̢no͝t lóoking ͠w̴hȩr͡e̛ I͝ w͟as̡ g̢ơi͡ng.͠ An̴d then ͞I..̷.̢I.͝.͟.
When Gaster fell into the energy tanks, the core system saw him has an unknown anomaly, which caused the systems maintenance to kick in. But the energy in the tank reacted violently with his body. The magic in his soul was being ripped from him while the magic in the energy tank was trying to push away at it, like two magnet caught together, eventually Gaster's body slowly degraded, his skull cracked, his lab coat withered away, the palms of his hands were dissolved into circular holes, leaving him as a husk of his former self, soon, the remains of Gaster began to fade away, Gaster's eye began to feel heavy, he then went into a sleep like state, and evaporated fully, as if he was never there.
M̸y ́b͡o͞d̶y͢ ͞c͢ḩan͜g͞e̴d̕, I ̡c̀oul̕dn͡'͞t ̸m͞o͡ve͡, ̨I was̨n̶'͡t͞ ev̀en҉ si͠n͢ki͝n̡ǵ, the͞n̸.̛.́. I̛ gre͏w ͟t̷i̵r͏e̶d, ҉so͠,̛ ̴so t͡i̸red̷. ͢W̷hen ͠I awo͏ke͢, t̀h̶e͟ wa̢s͜ ̛no̶t͢hi͢n̵g̸.̀
When Gaster "Awoke" there was nothing around him, no core, no one was there with him, just two things. Silence, horrible, maddening silence. And Darkness, empty, cold darkness. Gaster was neither alive or dead, he was trapped in a void, never to live, and never to die.
Years passed as Gaster was slowly forgotten 6 humans had passed through, the king had killed each one of them, and Gaster had watched it all, he watched as monsters were slain In their paths, and there was nothing he could do. Nothing.
Slowly, Gaster grew tired of the same old thing, tired of longing for a light in this horrid darkness he called home. "Is this my fate? Is this my damnation?!"He cried out, half hoping for something, anything, to call back or even acknowledge his voice. Nothing.
"Why?! WHY AM I HERE?! WHY AM I IN THIS UNGODLY WORLD?!
