RumikoOhara, I would like for you to decrease the speed and the distance Saya can cover with the Amp technique. It's too much as it is currently. Other than that, I don't see anything else that needs fixing.

Makatsume Haru, the app looks great and I don't see anything that needs changing.

Nytem4re, there are three issues that need fixing: the picture for your character's appearance is broken, provide an explanation as to why your character has a rifle instead of a handgun, and the Optical Camouflage needs to have a time limit or something similar.

MagusDream, it seems the "Other Tool(s)" part of the CS is the only thing you need. However, I would like for you to go in more detail about how the curses work and what sort of black magic can the cards produce.

Chapter 1: The Starter (IGNITE THE SOUL)

Kazuto "Kaz" Tokuro has successfully passed the exam qualifying him to be a full-fledged agent for the Order in Black: a secret organization tasked with protecting humanity from supernatural beings. On his first day as an agent, Kaz is partnered with a young woman named Saya Kanzaki and the two are given their first assignment as partners. Meanwhile, several other agents of the Kaidan Branch are sent off to deal with an influx of supernatural beings plaguing a poorer district of the city.

Kazuto, or as he prefers to be called Kaz, is a young man standing at a height of 170 cm (5'07") and weighing 63 kg (139 lbs). As seen from the above picture, Kaz has a light skin tone, medium-length red hair, and aqua-colored eyes. Since most of his time is occupied with school and the Order in Black, Kaz is primarily seen in his school uniform during the day and, at night, in the specially-made black suit provided to him by the organization. His suit consists of a black jacket worn unbuttoned and with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, a white, buttoned dress shirt underneath, a black tie, black slacks, black buckled belt with a gun holster attachment, and, strangely enough, Kaz wears a pair of casual boots that is predominantly red and white in color along with white socks. Kaz also wears the bracelets pictured above while in his Order attire. Additionally, it should be noted that Kaz's gun holster is located on the right side of his belt while he clips his Order badge on the opposite side. Outside of school and work, Kaz is usually seen dressed in a red-and-white hoodie, black-colored long shorts, the red-and-white casual boots with white socks, and his bracelets.

Biography:

Kaz had a pretty normal childhood growing up in the countryside of Japan. He was your typical kid who was curious about the world. In fact, he was a bit of a troublemaker as well. His father worked as an electrician while his mother stayed at home to look after him and his older brother. Although Kaz's family certainly wasn't wealthy by any stretch of the word, they led a happy existence; that is until a month after Kaz's sixth birthday. Kaz's parents died in a car accident, leaving Kaz and his brother to the care of their grandparents. Kaz and Haru moved to Kaidan as a result.

Once Haru turned eighteen and secured a good job, he and Kaz moved to their own apartment and has been living there ever since. During Kaz's freshman year in high school, he received a strange letter in the mail one day - a black letter. Reading it, Kaz initially thought it was some kind of prank but the curious young man couldn't help but wanting to find out more. And so he went to the location specified in the letter. There he was soon greeted by three individuals dressed in black suits. What Kaz learned that day changed his entire perspective of the world.

After a period of time, Kaz returned to the agents with an answer to their recruitment: yes. As per the ritual, Kaz burned the black letter and awakened his soul's true power and, ever since then, has been training vigorously in order to become a full-fledged agent of the Order in Black. With his training finally complete after a grueling year-and-a-half, Kaz now joins the other agents of the Kaidan Branch out there in the city.

Gauntlets of Rebirth

Once Kaz has become a spirit after entering the temporary death state, his soul's true power manifests itself into a pair of fingerless, red-leather gloves with the tops of each glove adorned with a silver sun ornament. The ornaments have the capability to rapidly spin in such a fashion as to produce enormous amounts of heat and, with a long enough cycle, can produce flames. Both the heat and flames produced by these gloves - known officially as the Gauntlets of Rebirth - can be weaponized by Kaz to fight supernatural beings. Although the gauntlets can produce substantially high temperatures, it has no visible effects on Kaz. A major weakness of the Gauntlets of Rebirth is that it drains the soul faster than a majority of other Soul Weapons. This means that Kaz must be constantly monitoring how much power he is using or risks returning to life faster than normal. Furthermore, overusing the gauntlets can overheat Kaz which immobilizes him for a period of time after he returns to life. When Kaz's soul is pushed to near fatigue, the ornaments cease to spin and so no more heat and flames are produced; Kaz returns to life after that.

Techniques

• Propulsion Flames: Kaz can produce a powerful stream of heat and flames to propel him along the ground or in the air at an exceptional speed. While not primarily a means of attack, the heat produced can cause a severe burn when directed at a close target.


• Ignite Gloves: Kaz's simplest means of attack, this technique envelopes Kaz's hands in powerful flames in which he then utilizes with his hand-to-hand combat in order to damage a target substantially further than normal.


• Searing Buster: This technique combines both the Propulsion Flames and the Ignite Gloves technique. First, Kaz launches himself into the air with the Propulsion Flames. Then, he uses the Ignite Gloves to envelope his right fist in flames and, upon contact with the target, produces a large, circular explosion of flames.


• Asura: One of the Gauntlets of Rebirth signature techniques, Asura allows Kaz to instantly evaporate various forms of liquid through a variety of methods. Physical contact such as a punch is a common method but Kaz can also use Asura through methods without physical contact as well such as blasting a target with heat or producing small fireballs that can be projected towards the target. Targets with liquid inside them are "cooked" from the inside out or, to a less extreme degree, suffer internal burn injuries. Liquid covering the exterior of a target vaporizes and burns the target severely. Targets that are complete void of liquid are unaffected. Although this technique is powerful, Kaz can only realistically use a portion of its full power or risk damaging his soul and physical body.


• Sun Bomb: With this technique, Kaz raises both fists into the air and produces a huge ball of flames; this step of the technique requires some time to fully produce the fireball. After the fireball is fully formed, Kaz slams it into the target which creates a huge of pillar of flames. The flames are powerful enough to fully incinerate weak enemies and critically damages stronger foes. This technique automatically returns Kaz to life after its usage.


• Deva: One of the Gauntlets of Rebirth signature techniques, Deva allows Kaz to produce white-colored flames. These flames are non-damaging and are constantly at room temperature. When used on a target, these flames will heal their injuries and grants them a temporary boost in power. Kaz cannot constantly use this technique as it draws a huge amount of power from his soul.

• Kazuto (和人) means "Harmonious man" in Japanese and his surname, Tokuro (戸黒), can be translated as "Black gate".

• Some of Kaz's hobbies include: sketching, listening to music, playing games on his cell phone, and reading Mystery manga.

Plot

Premise

BLACK LETTERS centers around an organization called the "Order in Black" whose "agents" are tasked with protecting humanity from the supernatural forces that plague the world. Armed with specialized equipment that can tap into their souls and bring out their "true power", the Order's agents are humanity's strongest weapons against the evils that lurk in the night. However, not just any average person can become an agent. An agent's soul must possess a substantial amount of untapped potential and, before they can become an agent, they must first receive a black letter.

When a mysterious and unusual string of deaths suddenly arise in their district, the agents of the Order in Black's Kaidan Branch are tasked with the investigation. Join the agents as they uncover the truth behind the unnatural deaths that may very well lead to the destruction of their beloved Order.

History

When a living being dies, whether it'd be an animal, plant, or human, their spirit vanishes with them, but, in some cases, the being's soul - the core of their spirit - continues to exist and binds the spirit to the material world. After a period of time, ranging from twenty-four hours to a week, the soul corrupts and changes the spirit into something sinister with the need to kill living beings in order to further extend its life. These supernatural creatures - the byproduct of the soul's corruption - are referred to by many names but one truth is clear about all of them: if left to roam free, they will prove to be the bane of all life including humanity.

Enter the Order in Black: an organization created for the sole purpose of protecting humanity by finding and destroying these supernatural beings. Established by a small group of "gifted" individuals in the late 5th Century, the Order in Black fought to ensure the survival of humans in secrecy. As the numbers of the supernatural beings grew more numerous, the Order sought out to find more individuals whom they deemed "gifted" - humans whose souls contain hidden powers. With the right equipment, their powers could be unlocked and used to destroy the supernatural beings. The Order did just that: created equipment that could tap into the soul's hidden potential.

Over a millennium, the Order in Black's numbers has grown exponentially and its influence has reached the farthest corners of the Earth. However, the Order's battle against the supernatural beings seems to have no end in sight. Fortunately, the battle is presently leaning in the Order's favor. Present-day Japan: in the metropolis of Kaidan, the Order in Black's Kaidan Branch has become one of the largest and most powerful of all the districts. Their headquarters is an enormous skyscraper located at the very heart of Kaidan's downtown sector. Its agents are among the best and brightest of the Order in Black.

As with all agents of the Order in Black, when a potential new agent is found, he or she is contacted by the organization using a black letter - an invitation of sorts in the form of a black-colored envelope stamped with the Order's seal in gold wax. Within the envelope is a letter containing an address and instructions. At the location written on the envelope, the potential new agent is contacted by several official agents who will then describe in detail the purpose of the Order and give the potential new agent the chance to join. If the answer is no, the agents will erase the memories of the person, but, if the answer is yes, the person is asked to burn the black letter.

The burning of the black letter will produce special blue flames that, once a potential new agent has stared into, will awaken the power of their soul. It is then that they are officially recruited by the Order in Black. Upon recruitment, the new agent must swear an oath of secrecy and is then given three pieces of equipment that will give them the ability to destroy supernatural beings. The first is a uniform - a black suit - that will release certain limitations of the human body. The second is a badge that is used to stabilize the soul's power during battle with supernatural beings. Finally, the third is a custom-crafted handgun that feeds off of the agent's soul in order to create ammunition that can injure supernatural beings.

But there is one more ability of the handgun and this ability can only be activated by one method: suicide. To be more accurate: a form of temporary death in which the agent becomes a spirit and their soul's true power is released in the form of a weapon with unique abilities. These specialized weapons are the true forms of agents' soul power. However, once the soul has been driven to near exhaustion, the agent is brought back to life and must have time to rest before they can enter this temporary death state once more. With all three pieces of equipment along with numerous other special tools provided by each branch's R&D department coupled with vigorous special training, the agents of the Order in Black are well-prepared to face any supernatural dangers.

Within the Kaidan Branch, the newest addition to the organization - a young man by the name of Kazuto "Kaz" Tokuro - has recently passed the exam qualifying him to be a full-fledged agent. This is the tale of Kaz and the other agents of the Order in Black's Kaidan Branch.
