I'm not familiar with that Grand Trial but I'll probably look it up.
It is simply the battles with the Kahunas.

It is simply the battles with the Kahunas.
Well, we are at the first Grand Trial.
"Be my guest." Liam offered.
Once everyone had arrived at the shrine with Halahe had them follow him and and up to a statue. He got down on his knees in front of it, motioning for the others to do so as well. Once everyone had, He spoke to Tapu Koko, asking it to watch over the Grand Trial Battles. After that, he asked who wanted to go first.
Hala told them to follow him and he began to walk toward to shrine.
I have been busy with things ,and I have not been able to play US/UM
Hala returned after a bit and handed out the Z-Rings. He than told them they need to, as tradition states, vist Tapu Koko's Shrine and prey before they have the battles.
Liam did some training and returned to heal up his Pokémon so that he'd be ready for the Grand Trial.
Liam told Sashia that he wasn't planning on using Dragonite for the battle. He decided to go out and do some training to prep for the battle.
Hala approached the heroes.
"Alola everyone." He greeted with a smile. "Did everyone manage to get the stone?" He noticed the Z-Ring that Liam had. "Did Tapu Koko bring this to you?" Hala inquired, already knowing the answer. "He did it again..." He looked off toward Tapu Koko's shrine. He than offered to take the stones and make them into Z-Rings.
