Gotta love people suddenly becoming apolitical when someone is doing something they approve of.

I was planning on using Blockbuster in Blüdhaven but I could as easily replace him with Black Mask if no one has plans for him. In fact, Black Mask is probably a better fit.

That's from a post from four years ago. Use old Blockbuster if you see fit.
Second character sheet follows.

Commander Rick Flag

Origin & Backstory

Rick Flag III comes from a military dynasty. His lineage has been traced back far enough to prove that a Flag has served in every major American conflict. His grandfather was a war hero for the allies during the Second World War, while his father served with distinction in Vietnam. Flag enlisted in the Navy after graduating high school in 1995. Flag's aptitude for marksmanship and demolitions granted him a shot to become a SEAL. He passed a grueling SEAL regiment with flying colors and became member of the Navy SEALs. Shortly after 9/11 Flag was given a commission to First Lieutenant and appointed a squad leader for the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group better known as SEAL Team Six.

Flag and his men carried out missions in Afghanistan, Iraq, and all over the world. He may or may not have been involved in a raid into Pakistan in May of 2011, but the matter is classified. It was during a black op in December of 2013 that it all changed for Flag. Inside the Syrian border, Flag and his squad's helicopter was shot down. Flag was one of three men who survived the crash. Badly wounded by the crash, Flag and the two soldiers managed to fight their way out of Syria and into Israel. Flag nearly died of his wounds, while the two soldiers with him were mortally wounded by gunfire. While Flag recovered, the two men died of their wounds. He was given a promotion to Commander and was discharged from the Navy for his services.

While Flag was recovering from his wounds in Germany a woman visited him. She gave her name as Amanda Waller, a veteran of the intelligence community who was putting together a special team of special operators. The plan was to use the new and growing metahuman crime problem to the government's advantage. A penal unit made up of criminals pressed into black ops for pardons with Flag in command. An expendable unit headed by an expendable soldier. Flag accepted right away.

Task Force X aka The Suicide Squad
(Final team membership pending on approval from other players)

Dr. Amanda Waller: Former CIA analyst and current head of Task Force X
Rick Flag: Field commander.
Noah Kuttler aka Calculator: Computer genius and technical
Eve Eden aka Nightshade: CIA liaison with the ability manipulate shadows and light.
Sarge Steel: Intelligence analyst and Waller's bodyguard.
Benjamin Turner aka Bronze Tiger: Former Green Beret turned assassin
Count Werner Vertigo aka Count Vertigo: European aristocrat and art thief with the ability to induce vertigo and effect the center of gravity of others.
Issac Bowin aka The Fiddler: A former violin prodigy who can manipulate sound and thoughts with his violin.
William Heller aka White Dragon: White supremacist with super-strength.
General Wade Eiling: High-ranking Pentagon member and Waller's direct superior inside the National Intelligence community.

Al-Jihad

Al-Jihad is a terrorist organization that works across the globe to wage covert war against its enemies, whomever they may be. Though they use many cut-outs and go-betweens, Al-Jihad at its core only has four members.

Rustam: A shadowy figure from Abu Dabi with political and financial connections across the world.
The Burnt Man/Staff Sergeant Peter Blaine: A former member of Flag's SEAL team left for dead in Syria. Kidnapped and indoctrinated by Al-Jihad.
Ravan: A descendant of the ancient Thugee cult and a master of hand to hand combat.
Colonel Mushtaq: Former Saudi intelligence service member turned terrorist.

Powers & Abilities
No powers. But Flag is a trained special forces soldier and intelligence officer with an expertise in a variety of combat and surveillance fields.

Character Goals

I want to tell some spy/military stories with the Squad. I have a whole overarching storyline planned involving the US government, the Military Industrial Complex, PMCs, mission creep, and the fucked up psyche that comes with being forced to do this kind of work.

Oliver Queen/The Green Arrow

Origin & Backstory

Playboy Oliver Queen lived a vapid life of pleasure-seeking, never having any aspirations besides the next thrill. The day it all changed was the day he arrived on the island. After being marooned on a remote isle in the South Pacific, Ollie was forced to survive by his wits alone. He soon discovered the island was a hub for heroin production, the native populace being used as slaves. Calling on his past archery skill, Ollie crafted a homemade bow and arrows and drove the criminals from the island, being rescued in the process. Finally motivated, Ollie took up the mantle of the masked archer and became the Green Arrow, protector of Star City.

Today, Oliver works for Star City in two realms. The first is as Green Arrow, the second is as that of City Councilman and philanthropist. Having sold his controlling stake in Queen Industries years ago, Oliver and his son Connor Hawke operate the Papp Street Mission, a non-profit shelter for the homeless of Star City. Ollie successfully ran for city council and now sits on the eight-man governing body for the city.

Attributes

Just a man with a bow and trick arrows.

Character Notes

NPCs:

Connor Hawke: Ollie's son, also known as Green Arrow
Sergeant John Diggle: Star City PD patrolman, Green Arrow's ally on the police force.
Jimmy Fitzroy: Star City Mayor
Jerry Conklin: President of the city council, leader of the council's conservative faction
Barry Calhoun: Ollie's fellow liberal councilman
Shawna Sanchez: KSTV News reporter

Character Goals

I want to tell a political story. Ollie won't really be fighting many costumed bad guys. He'll be tackling men in suits who think they run the world. He'll be doing as much fighting in committee meetings as he'll be doing on the street.

Go for it brah

Alright, bruv.
Should I move my GA app over to the characters tab?
Are there any ground rules for applying for a second character? I don't want to over extend myself but I may have an idea.
I pulled an opposite. Byrd. Long CS, short post

It's your show, dawg. If I were you I wouldn't even put up a sheet.
I might go for Speedy/Red Arrow/Thea Queen, if that's a'ight with you, @Byrd Man.

Go for it. I left the sidekick angle vague in case anyone wanted to do something with Roy or Mia, or I guess Thea as she's become now? I don't know I haven't read much comics since the New 52.

Skimpy CS in most places, but hopefully the sample has some meat on its bones.
