He'd listen to your troubles, maybe even offer a way to deal with those problems in between cracks. 

Then, a bar fight breaks out. "He was about 39 or so at the time, and he was a legend. Some of the greatest criminals in Morvai worked with him at some point. He sat down next to me and said"boy, you're just squandering your potential." Then he began to fill me in on how working with him would put me in the big leagues. He had me at 'boy'.

"Rhett became my contractor. At first the jobs were big, lucrative, assassinating businessmen and the like. But after a while Rhett fell from grace, and with his fall came jobs like killing cheating husbands for jealous wives and handling stalkers for poor girls. I became pretty low rent. I started taking more types of jobs, like merc work and intimidation jobs.

"Now I'm just trying to get by, like everyone else. If you've got the cash for it, I can be your backdoor man."
