I’m thinking of having a character with a specialty in Fairy auras that has a Sylveon as a familiar or something.

Actually, that sounds really cool. I hadn't even thought of using Pokemon as familiars. Shit, I might do something similar with my character now LOL.
But are there actual Pokémon though?

I was thinking we could have some as illusioms/artificial creatures that are created by League officials to serve as Boss Monsters, but if you're wanting to have Pokémon as pets or something, I'm fine with that. But my idea is that our characters don't force animals to fight each other, they fight as themselves. They are battlemages, magic-users specializing in combat.
I'm thinking of going Green with plant control

Cool! Also, here is what I'm thinking of for the Morph sequence. Grid Energy (energy from the Morphin Grid) surrounds us and shifts into our Ranger suits.

The idea is basically humans or humanoids with Pokémon powers. Our characters enter the Battlemage League and collect badges from Battle Gyms scattered across different regions identical to the ones in Pokémon games. Once we have all the badges from a region, we can sign up for that region's annual tournament. As for Pokémon types, in this reality they will be referred to as Auras, and Battlemages switch which Aura they have active to call upon powers from that Aura. Strengths and weaknesses between the different types will be the same as the games. So, if you currently have your Water Aura active and your opponent has an Electric Aura up, their attacks will be super effective against you. And with experience, Battlemages can eventually learn to activate two or even three Auras at once. Below is an image showing all the types.

Each year in late Spring, the League Season opens and lasts for about three months. During that time, there are a variety of Challenges, Trainers/Mentors, and Boss Monsters scattered about within a semi-controlled environment. These help Contestants hone their powers on the journey between Gyms, and they each have an interactive Region Map within the League App on their smartphones that allows them to track the locations of these events.

As for the story, I'm thinking our characters start off as students of Uva Academy in the Paldea region, and our Summer vacation starts early so we can compete in the League Season. And once we complete the annual tournament, we could become foreign exchange students for one year at Blueberry Academy in the Unova region, and then we enroll in that League Season next. Then we can travel to other regions in the future. Feel free to ask any questions XD.

If anyone is curious, here is a full episode of Mashin Sentai Kiramager, the series that Crystalizers fan opening is based on:
And here are the GIFs for what Andros and Zhane's powers will look like:

Crystal/Diamond/Gemstone manipulation

Reminds me of this fan opening lol.

I think I'm gonna have Andros the Red Ranger with the power to absorb energy and then fire it out as red plasma or charge up objects that can explode. I will probably also play Zhane the Silver Ranger as a speedster with the ability to channel silvery-white lightning.
Okay, so there are five of us total as of right now, enough for a starting Ranger team. What colors and powers do you each want? I'll be playing the Red Ranger and Crimsom Flame has already claimed the Pink Ranger. If we get new players after the start of the RP they can come on as newly recruited Rangers who bond with unclaimed Energems.
One thing I'm gonna do differently with this RP compared to my past ones is to keep my posts shorter so they are not walls of text like before. My last two Power Ranger RPs kind of fizzled because I overloaded them with too much plot too soon and had really long posts. This time I'm going with a simpler, more laid-back approach. I have some basic plot ideas for where the story could go, but I'm mostly just gonna go with the flow and see where it takes us and then come up with the background story as necessary.
So I was thinking about my ideas for the Ranger suits, and wanted to check with everyone interested to see what your thoughts were. Would you prefer for each player to have more freedom around how their suits look, or should we keep them all as the same theme like the shows? And I think it might be cool for each Ranger to have a specific superpower they can use at will and then it becomes stronger when they morph, any thoughts?
